I love this symphony. As a Beethoven lover, it’s in my top 3 Beethoven symphonies along with the ninth and fifth symphonies. As a pianist, I find it harder to play the piano transcription of this symphony than that of his fifth symphony. And as a composer, this is the piece that inspired me to compose symphonies. My first symphony that has been planned for several years now and is now being composed has a lot of inspiration from this symphony, from the general narrative of a hero battling against an enemy and coming out victorious to the presence of a funeral movement to the start of the introduction with fortissimo chords alternating with a bit of quiet melody. That said, one of the biggest differences is the time signature of the first movement. Beethoven uses a 3/4 time signature with hemiola passages that feel like 2/4. I just straight up use a 2/4 time signature and the first theme at least will definitely be a march.

At last: Wagnerian and Mahlerian accretions gone. The gem shines on its own. The use of valveless brass was fabulous, even in the context of otherwise modern "altered" instruments.

...this is still the absolutely most amazing version of this Beethoven piece! It burns itself into your brain... every single note takes us to another place entrancing us with a vision of beauty we can hardly understand! Listen, listen as close as you can and if you're alone turn it up fairly loud, close your eyes, and you will be transported to beauty itself!

¡Maravilloso! Que hermosos sonidos.
Horn at 10:08...perfect!!
OMG this first movement is the real "Allegro con Brio" best ever!!
very true! really liked the way Beethoven setup it up, such that the horns' cnetry come at the moment where a thunderous entry is expected....
Jedes Mal wenn ich ein Buch lesen will oder was schreiben muss höre ich mir Eroica an. Danke HR
Oh Yes!!! I love this performance of beloved Beethoven's Eroica! 💕💕🍾🍾💨💨🔥🔥
At last: Wagnerian and Mahlerian accretions gone. The gem shines on its own. The use of valveless brass was fabulous, even in the context of otherwise modern "altered" instruments.
Una interpretación maravillosa. Muchas gracias.
One of the best performance !!
Hayatımda ilk defa dinlediğim klasik müzik bu nasıl bır müzik emsalsiz muhteşem sanatçıların aynı şekılde uyumu inanılmaz perfect🎉
Is this new for you? I love classical music. Especially Beethoven!
