I installed mine 2 years ago from the same company, wonder if they have an updated harness for the "not shutting off" part. it's not that bad, car is warmed up and windows are clear.. engine warm so 2nd start doesn't tax the battery.. but slightly annoying yup. Stil a lot freakin' better than no remote start up in the northeast !

How you take the glove box off? You just pull it or you gotta use the tool? You skipped it on the video 😢
I already bought the accessorides remote start for the 4runner before this came out. Will i be able to just get the takeover part or how do i update mine with takeover.
Unfortunately you have to uninstall the current and reinstall the new. I would list the old on FB marketplace and try to get a few bucks back
Nice! I asked them just last week if they had it for this specific vehicle. Their reply was they're working on adding more pts vehicles. Just Installed it yesterday and saw this video today. 😞

It's not too bad once you dedicate time to doing it. This one averages around 45 mins to an hour based on my experience. Thanks for checking out the video!

Questions- can you still use the Toyota app to start? And if so, will it have takeover?or thebtake over is only using this system?
I do not think it would work with the Toyota app, but they sell a version that comes with an app that would work similarly. The standard versus just uses the key, but you can see the premium add ons on their website that's linked in this video description

If you have keyless pts. Do you have to manually push the unlock button when the 4runner is on and you're walking up to it? Or does the fob still unlock it automatically, touch free ?
2nd question.. Can anyone get in and drive off once it's on?
Correct, the keyless entry still works just like it does before installing the kit. No, no one can get in and drive off, not unless they have the key. The engine will simply shut off when the brake is press to attempt to put it in gear if the key is not in the SUV

Do you have to hold the brake for 3 seconds every time after remote start? Or is it just for first time installation?
The instructions say 3 seconds every time, but we tested it and it's not that long. Say 1.6 seconds. Enough time to put it in drive and check your surroundings before taking off. It's not an awkward amount of time if that makes sense

Where can we put the small rectangular part (mobile receiver?) that'll make it look clean and out of the way?

The kits on the website for the 4Runner still specifically say that the truck will shut down when door is opened. Do you know if it's a matter of this kit not being on the accessoride site yet or have they not updated the description?

Yes but it is a different kit for 4th Gens. I've only worked on 5th Gens, but I'm sure someone has made an installation video

This kit will not work on a 2019 unfortunately. It has different wiring than the 2020+. However, comments like yours put the year on Accessorides radar for development. Hopefully one day!

It will work as far as your key fob will reach 👍

Do we know how long it will stay running with the remote start? Hopefully atleast 1 hour before auto shutting off.
One of the last grievances I have after this is I can’t touch the door handle to lock the truck with it running.
On my personal 4Runner with the kit (G key not Push to Start) it appears the timer is 10 or 15 mins. I imagine it is the same with the new kit, but I do not have access to it anymore. The guy drove 2.5 hour round trip for the install
One hour would just be wasting gas at some point, no? I think 15 mins or so is perfect for auto cut off personally
@@BtwilliasGarage no, 30min even doesn’t warm up the truck, and plus what does it matter? Start and go it may not even be running long, but in Canada we need longer run times, somtimes we don’t even turn them off. It’s not uncommon to leave some trucks idling all night they never turn off.
@@MrJimmyPenguin that makes sense. I'm sure you could have the runtime before shutoff programmed by Accessorides if you reach out with a custom request.
