The more I think about it the more those two feel even more connected especially with the whole nu metal style of that age fitting well with lains 00s aesthetic
radiohead’s ok computer, bôa’s the race of a thousand camels, hum’s you’d prefer an astronaut, sunny day real estate’s how it feels to be something on, the smashing pumpkins’ adore & machina|the machines of god
I think Radiohead works with Evangelion way better than Deftones would, it serves the same dark depressing but futuristic catchy vibes that the show as a whole gives me
I've never felt the same way watching anything else as I have when I watched Lain. It was so empty and eerie, it was like I didn't know I was actually watching an anime, or that a show could feel this way.
I've been reading nana recently and I also have been listening to the cure alongside it, almost like a match made in heaven. Now as for lain, I think a slightly better band that would foot the bill for the kind of feeling lain captures would either have to be early Cocteau twins or maybe even xiu xiu, especially a promise.
@@romcomsenpai please do, it is...something else. i am serious. i think you will automatically want to learn more about the context of the album and the band and you will see what i mean with that by being pure laincore.
@@romcomsenpai other honorable mentions (both also albums that came out in 1998) is zilch's 3.2.1. (in particular psyche just feels so lain) and the entirety of the gathering's how to measure a planet, but that's just an album that sounds more like boa not exactly lain as an anime.
"Hauting and quiet, feels dreary but at the same time hypnotizing" - I think that's the best description I've ever heard for both lain and deftones

First time id ever heard anyone talk about hum, youd prefer a astronaut is such a good album that nobody seems to know at least among the people ik.

you’d prefer an astronaut is one of the greatest and most emotional records ever…
Your music taste is fucking elite
serial experiements lain goes way beyond a "deftones aesthetic" 😭
No lie there. I plan on doing a full video for Lain at some point.
Reminds me more of dystopia tbh
This title feels like ragebait
No way this isn’t satire ☠️
also ergo proxy's outro is made by Radiohead
I heard! I definitely want to look into Ergo Proxy as I'm a fan of Radio head.
I feel like the psychological grief and trauma within the characters in Neon Genesis Evangelion and deftones really match
I think the themes work but aesthetically I feel like classical music fits better with NGE but again the show literally uses classical music so lol

This video insists upon itself.
land of the lustrous + koi no yokan
Ur gonna really like the next video
Passenger is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Same here! Fantastic song

The name of this video gave me a headache
Reading isn't for everyone
This video deserves more attention great format and very entertaining. Thank you

Bro you are an actual specimen for thinking this would be a good video ☠️
Uhmm thanks?

its funny i stumbled on this video. I was a huge Deftones fan prior to watching DeathNote and loved it. Loved the OST too and bought a cd copy.
Early Yu-Gi-Oh and Early Evanescence, like the demos and first album of Evanescence
Oh man RUclips really targeted me with this
We are the same...of one hive mind
good ass video bro ❤
Thanks bro!
Love how DBZ is on the list. The music in the dub version of DBZ movies and AMVs is the reason I'm a 2000s alt rock and metal fan.
Witch Hunter Robin
man the youtube algorithm is really calling me out today huh.
Corny title
question, does DragonBall Z count considering the western versions have deftones in the soundtrack
I kept it as an honorable mention. Doesn't fit the aesthetic but definitely uses them and was my introduction to them
Watch chainsaw man, around the fur fit it so well, as well as pun pun, goodnight pun pun would be like diamond eyes/ Saturday night/ koi no yokan
why are people hating on this????
lain made me click stayed for commentary
cara, isso tudo é tããããão jovem.
sorry dude i love deftones but massive attack's mezzanine is literally and legitimately the answer for being pure laincore
Definitely gotta check that out then!
