I cannot express in enough words how much the Berserk section moved me. i loved the interview w/ Chloe dissecting the artwork in a theoretic manner and the bit about owning a piece of history and seeing a mangaka grow and see their views change over time was absolutely beautiful and the precise reason i got so hooked on reading manga. this vid is a gem, thank you

2:23 someone likely already pointed this out, but it's 8000 feet, not 8000 meters. Mount yari is 3000 meters (10 000 feet). While the 8000 meters mark is also very important mountaineering, it's important for quite literally the opposite reason. Above 8000 meters is "the death zone", where oxygen levels are insufficient to sustain human life for an extended period. That's when you're actually supposed to accelerate as you are reliant on your oxygen supplies to survive. There are only 14 mountains above 8000 meters, they are called the eight-thousanders. The main theme of The Climber is that the protagonist wants to climb the east side of the K2, because it is the only route of an eight-thousander left that has not yet been climbed by man.

I think what happened on my part was that I had done some research on both of those markers (the death zone and altitude sickness @ 8000ft) , but then once I got into writing the script, I definitely just wasn't paying close enough attention to the metrics. Thank you for that, I actually really appreciate the correction there.
You hate The New 52 because it ruined numerous characters and squandered the creative possibilities to a large degree. I hate The New 52 because the first American comic books I read were from it, and it set my expectations for how good comic book artwork would be to an impossibly high standard. We are not the same.

Man, this hit me personally. At the beginning of this year I started a webnovel. I spent the whole 1.5 months writing the first five of its chapters I was pushing the best I could create out of myself and it was taking A LOT of time, during this period I dedicated all my free time to the webnovel. And yet in so much time I only wrote 15K words. After spending 1.5 months of my life without getting any feedback at all, I just quit, feeling that I was just loosing my time with it. But after this video I see myself climbing the mountain, draining myself mentally for something others don't care about, improving every little detail I could. Why was I doing it? I just was submerged into the process. Now I'm wasting much time too, just on other things, like stupid youtube videos. Should have I really cared that nobody was reading it? Even if no, it's more pleasant to climb the mountain knowing other people admire what you are doing So we admire you climbing the mountain now, AhLecks.

i love how much effort sakamoto puts in his work, he considers the mouth as a organ itself and thought it might look dry it really is interesting and i do get drawn to the lips since it is one of the most detailed piece of the face
