The company has not released any on-road price guidelines and the same would be in line with its other products and industry norms. This will be issued by 10th July. Speed 400 has been launched at ex-showroom price, Delhi at INR 2.23 lacs for the first 10,000 customers post which it will move to its regular price at INR 2.33 lacs ex-showroom. State-specific ex-showroom and on-road pricing will be released closer to delivery.”

Having booked both (HD & T400) even i felt that the sound of harley is much more closer to its family DNA of Harley's, whereas the sound of triumph is as you said has good amount of hints of the KTM!.... Although the price and looks of triumph are good the harley looks like a rugged james hetfield with torn jeans and singlet❤
I think it's universal sentiment that Triumph is more close to its DNA because it's a Triumph made by Bajaj meanwhile the only thing Harley on that bike is its sticker. If you have to bring some obscure model from way back to show it looks like Harley than you have failed in making Harley. Just show both these bikes to western audience and you will get Triumph as clear winner which is also why Harley won't sell this bike internationally.
Nice video. Shocking twist to the competition. Hope Triumph provides affordable and decent service experience to the customer set they are targeting. 🎉
Hunter 350 would be in huge trouble, for now Interceptor & continental 650 are the only RE that don't have a competition for now at their price point, I also think bajaj kinda killed pulser 250's with this triumph😅.

People needs to understand RE 350 and Honda cb350 doesn't compete with triumph 400...even harley davidson x440 has that long stroke classic engine... Triumph competes with ktm390, Honda cbr300, ninja 300 and upcoming r3/mt03 and Royal Enfield 450cc liquid cooled engine lineup which also makes 40bhp... Cb350 on road is around 2.4L and triumph on road will be around 3L... This 60k difference is not just in buying price but mileage also comes to consideration where cb350 wins...
Honda is now permanently dead in premium segment because they are more interested in Activa and Shine. Within 1 yr they launched CB300F at 2.25 lakh and it has flopped.

Yamaha is not going to launch it's R3 series in India after this, it absolutely has no chance. They either bring the Tenere 700 at an attractive price or forget about achieving any significant market share. The days of the Honda CB300R also are already numbered unless Honda drops the prices to atleast to that of the Triumph.
There is a fan base of RE as people earlier can't afford to buy a HD. Now with HD x440, it's in the budget of most and now RE need to think what to do.
HD is for America and America lovers. Except for those, most people don't buy RE because they can't afford HD. They buy because of its go anywhere type of ability, the beautiful evergreen classic design and mainly its legacy, which is almost parallel or even better than HD. There is no doubt HD X440 is a somewhat good bike, but it's mostly developed by Hero. So, now buying a x440 over Mavrick will be a no brainer for sure.
I think the brand value will also play a bigg role RE is no doubt established brand but Triumph and Harley are like a way more superior in brand name so people will be attracted to them more , so to say The Classic 350 doesn’t have to fear compilation is wrong
Design wise, yes, HD is looking better than triumph... But that is subjective... Triumph parts are much better (from what I've heard from the numerous reviews) - the bolts, the fasteners etc... All are much better quality than Harley.. Triumph is selling their triumph bike in collaboration with Bajaj... But the HD 440 is just a rebadged Hero bike..not that HD 440x is not a great bike... It is definitely much better compared to meteor, RE.. But in comparison with triumph 400, HD is way behind..
for me its the proper frame in the harley bajaj is saying ita hybrid perimeter but thats a lie look at the tank mounting on frame its like commuterish pulsasrs 150 180 not the perimeter in 200NS which clearly looks below tank i dont whats wrong with bajaj they gave this way back in 2012 but now they didnt give it in 250s f&n nor in this triumph honda cb300 better and my good ol NS is still the best pulsar yet
The Triumph Speed 400 Ex- showroom price is great 2.33 lakhs but when at the end of the day we don't pay for Ex-showroom price we actually pay the On-Road price which in Bangalore will be around 3,38,240 rupees I think Triumph should look into this matter simply paying 1,14,000 extra is no good
For sportiness and young buyers who don't want a heavy bike - Triumph 400 For Classiness with a bit of sportiness - Harley x440 For Pure Classiness with Vintage - Bullet 350

Never underestimate Royal Enfield. There’s a new 450 single on the starting grid kicking off as a Himalayan and it wouldn’t surprise me to see that new liquid-cooled single cylinder engine finding it’s way into other models. You guys do an excellent program, Big hugs from Germany 😉
Whatever they introduce...their engine is absolutely crap...even the J series which sounds like a goods auto rickshaw after one year usage. No dependability, no performance.
Anyone considering the Harley Davidson x440 over the Triumph Speed 400 must be blind. The x440 doesn't look premium at all; It looks likes its been hit with a parts bin cannon, haphazardly designed; it's a mess. On the other hand, the Triumph Speed 400 looks premium and was cohesively, carefully designed with parts made specifically for that bike.
Why nobody is talking about spares and service cost for god's sake, if it's getting compared to a RE or KTM and talking about making a dent in RE shares but what about expected maintenance cost if people will consider it over an RE, they'll surely consider this aspect as well
4:24 - 60K (75K-1lakh on road actually) is a lot coz who's planning for a hunter, he needs to pay more than 40% of his budget. Someone not on a tight budget won't consider a hunter as a bike.
Bullet 650 standard is an xelent deal at the price point now. Something more peppy like an SV650 V-twin/other cost more. I did love that v-twin when I had it, but the Suzuki GR650 twin I briefly had, with its 50HP was a hoot to ride.
though the pricing is competative no one matches RE is sales network and aftersales spare parts availability. So RE is still unchallenged in most of the teritories of India

to achieve satisfactory triumph 400 and 400x sales in India the company should not limit the availability of the bikes to triumph showroom only but widespread the bike sales to bajaj outlet for better reach in the small cities and rular area’s .We already know the condition of honda’s hunter 350 which was a great bike and created a great buzz but availability issue and Honda’s decision to sell it only through big wings outlet led to the dismal sale
Thanks blokes. A really good and entertaining video. Like yourselves I really love the look of the Triumph 400. I think in these days when petrol is getting so outrageously expensive, bikes like this will become more and more popular. Cheers from Australia.
My most favorite will be the jawa standard in the maroon colour, the true retro beauty 😍. If not the second most favorite is Benelli imperiale, but the colour scheme is boring. If Benelli introduces white, grey or other light colour schemes or combination of colours on the tank, that would be no1 🔥🔥
Hero has nailed it with Harley Davidson, it has more displacement and torque, and the service network of Hero Motocorp is more than anything in India. No second thought, mid model of HD 440x has ample features and has everything i need. ❤Harley Davidson since my childhood

I hope they release some cruiser bikes before 2028. That's when my Thunderbird 500 turns 15 year old and would not be allowed on Delhi roads. Currently I have Meteor as my only option but either I have to for an underpowered 350 or go for overbudget with Super Meteor.
Even though i have already booked s400. I can confidently say the most distinguished bike in coming times will be x440. It wont be chaprified in any way. It looks way cooler in real than photo as i heard. It sounds the best..as per indian roads and an average office goer and weekend tourer harley will be perfect
What triumph first needs to do is to increase their dealership network. There is not a single dealership in M.P. I want to buy a triumph scrambler but there is no dealership so obviously I will go for other bikes. I think they should sell these bikes at bajaj dealerships in the starting just what like Kawasaki has done in the starting.
I own a hunter and trust me the low end torque and aggression is something else. It's a chill motorcycle with some aggression. And the motorcycle is nimble and can filter through the nastiest traffics. The chassis is awesome. It's an everyday bike unlike triumph which you will think twice before going in daily commute. Nobody is gonna eat Hunter's share. Hunter is ❤. I own one and I love it.
Just watched vikas rachamalla video and Triumph india charging 1.05lakhs approx more on road for Triumph speed 400...disappointed Triumph dealers across india should stop looting customers otherwise soon Triumph india will be wiped out😊 no one can replace RE in india😎
Bajaj has built the engine! Not just crash and saree guard are bajaj!!! That TR series engine is built by bajaj! Triumph gave the requirements to Bajaj, they built it! I just hope it should last. I hope there's no cost cutting internally. By the appearance it feels premium though.
Launch of Speed 400 has put me in a dilemma. I had booked a classic as a replacement to my 2016 Classic 350 but with the launch of the Speed 400, I am in a fix. I own an Interceptor 650 and Ninja 650. I need your expert advice on this, should I go for classic or should I put my money on Speed 400. Just to add to this, I am 57 years, living in Delhi.
Since you hv 2 650cc bikes, no point you go for the triumph which is almost same type but only less cc Go for the classic 350 cc as it’s completely different from the other two bikes you hv
Bhai chhapri ho kya? 😂 Itna bada bada bike rakhe ho, age se experience rider lag rahe ho aur buying decision ke liye inn namuno se salah maang rahe ho!😂😂🤦🏻♂️ Either you’re rookie or dumb.
As you have already experienced classic 350 ,it's not a great idea of owning it again. Also as you own premium bikes ,you know how they feel & service cost .Better to go for Triumph Speed 400 ,because of its reliability & service interval (i.e 16000km/1year).Triumph itself developed everything & manufactured in Bajaj plant ,where as Harley Davidson just gives it badge to a bike(Harley Davidson x440) developed & manufactured by Hero motocorp.
My personal suggestion will be Harley because I think you are the one who wants to relax on motorcycle and long strokes are your thing...650cc are great but are usually limited by chasis harley gives best of both worlds
I love the the look of these new Triumphs, with the price of fuels and running cost rising in England I am looking at jumping off my s1000r as an everyday bike and purchasing the 400x, great discussion looking forward to seeing one of theses bikes, as I understand theses are not due for sale until the end of this year 👊
I don’t know how to add the image in the comment because the dealer of triumph are looting the customer as per my case in Rajasthan. E.g. just to give a perspective they are adding 10000 rs for PDI charges Asking more RTO charges for the same ex-showroom and engine cc price. On road price in Rajasthan - 2.98 lac when ex-showroom price mentioned is 2.23 lac
Right now everyone is excited but once bikes start to go servicing cost and spare parts which cannot be locally available 😅😅😅then the true face valu of these bikes will come to light
These are locally manufactured, so spares and servicing costs are going to be lower than typical Triumph bikes. The question is just how low? It will not be BMW G310 level high but not KTM level low as well.
I bet if you look deeper into the internals of the Speed 400 you will find the KTM DNA camouflaged in some smartly redesigned engine casings..just like the Mojo and Yezdi .The soon to be launched Duke 390/400 will have the same engine with bumped up output..just like Bajaj did with the Dominar 400 by detuning the Duke 390..
Mojo 1st edition was flawed, but had they been fixed, that lovely engine, the seemingly 500cc body and build was the real deal. Jawa and Yezdi 4-stroke will probably not match the 2-stroke sound and performance(?). Mahindra gives Italian names, why not Indian. Jes sayin.
I chose Honda over RE for reliability and refinement. As much as I love triumph brand, I feel the models are built for a much younger buyer and not so retro looks. I can't imagine these models looking cool with all the accessories like guards, backrest, saddle stays and luggage/helmet boxes. Compare that with the CB350 or RE classic or even meteor, that relaxed feel is not there. So I like you guys said, classic 350 customers may not shift to this and I would add Honda Hness to that as well. The only missing piece I find for Honda is number of service centres.
A great bike speed 400 is ! no doubt ... but I have a feeling that the moment these bikes are available for costumers !!!!! bang re roadster450 or the himalayan 450 are in the market . then we will see who is better. After all we know what RE bikes are know these days. bikes exactly for a particular mind sets . a perfect machine . {i am RE lover}.🤗
This launch has certainly redefined the value for money quotient in sub 400CC category. Only downside I see here is the charector of engine and sound obviously. RE should think about classic 500 reborn. And Honda may bring CB450. But who knows. And HD will remain here for long for sure
Service is a differentiator.... I feel, Triumph has their attitude to service wrong (not my personal experience, this is from what I have heard, hence could be grossly wrong). In my opinion Triumph is selling on their brand value... Harley will be selling on the value Hero brings... Interesting market space to watch
I have had a fair share of experience about riding and ownership of bikes....l have a Fatboy and a classic 500...personally I think triumph looks far more premium than the Harley.....but if you go for brand value obviously Harley is the winner....and about RE...the after sale service(RE s service network is unparalleled compared to both these brands)and brand value at ground level is definitely very difficult to match up to
J series is a crap engine..sluggish. No way should we compare it with triumph or harleys. Instead compare them with cb350 engine. Real competitor interms of engine quality and performance.
Key for BAJAJ-TRIUMPH is matching or outmatching market leader RE, in terms of sales and service. Both the speed and scrambler are looking so fantastic ! Will BAJAJ-TRIUMPH have dealership network like RE or even HONDA ?!? THAT'S THE BIG QUESTION ⁉️
Well the bikes I mean Triumph and the HD both looks dashing but just imagine how good the service network is there in India. Unless they fix this I am sure they aren't a threat to any of its competitors.
After 25 years of no riding and at age 45 I blindly bought a Honda 350 to test out the waters.. And I regret being so conservative. Curious about H350 vs bt scrambler 400. Vs re 650

There is an image going around, which depicts the on-road pricing of the Triumph at 3.38 lakhs. Also take a look at the prices of Triumph accessories. All these cheering and celebrating for Triumph might be short-lived.
At 2.33 lac base price the market gets scewed, to top it there r few dealership as of now and also the service centre r less. The price list are out and the dealers r charging additional 17K as delivery charges and 8K introductory kit in which there (petrol n polish) an 25k extra 😮😮😢, 6k for RSA, this would finally cost 3.38lac if bought at 2.33lac basic price. I feel sad to see in India we don't have a comfortable cruiser bikes we just have 2 one is Avenger and second is Meteor for long and comfortable rides all the rest are focusing on power of engine and looks .......
X440 somewhat falls in this category..
Good morning from NZ .Great chat guys loved it !! I collect a new 650 super meteor interstellar Green this week Honestly can't wait, such a sexy bike. I am 67 and feel like a little boy wait for xmas😂😂.
Exactly my thoughts too
I think it's universal sentiment that Triumph is more close to its DNA because it's a Triumph made by Bajaj meanwhile the only thing Harley on that bike is its sticker.
No it will not be
Hunter 350 would be in huge trouble, for now Interceptor & continental 650 are the only RE that don't have a competition for now at their price point, I also think bajaj kinda killed pulser 250's with this triumph😅.

Only competition is in between honda and triumph true gems
There is no DNA of Triumph it’s just a regular 400
People needs to understand RE 350 and Honda cb350 doesn't compete with triumph 400...even harley davidson x440 has that long stroke classic engine...
Triumph competes with ktm390, Honda cbr300, ninja 300 and upcoming r3/mt03 and Royal Enfield 450cc liquid cooled engine lineup which also makes 40bhp...
Cb350 on road is around 2.4L and triumph on road will be around 3L... This 60k difference is not just in buying price but mileage also comes to consideration where cb350 wins...
@tyldudn refinement and reliability not great with dominar
Honda is now permanently dead in premium segment because they are more interested in Activa and Shine. Within 1 yr they launched CB300F at 2.25 lakh and it has flopped.

Yamaha is not going to launch it's R3 series in India after this, it absolutely has no chance. They either bring the Tenere 700 at an attractive price or forget about achieving any significant market share. The days of the Honda CB300R also are already numbered unless Honda drops the prices to atleast to that of the Triumph.

Please compare Honda 350 Vs RE meteor 350 Vs Triumph 400.
Am I only one who loving the design of HD more than triumph?

The photo that is circulating is apparently doctored. So yeah, the final price isn't 3.3 but rather 2.85-2.9 in blore

For sportiness and young buyers who don't want a heavy bike - Triumph 400
For Classiness with a bit of sportiness - Harley x440
For Pure Classiness with Vintage - Bullet 350

@@zigwheels Thanks..waiting for that and also speed 400 first ride experience video.
They have set the standard for the competitors! Good for the Indian market!
Why nobody is talking about spares and service cost for god's sake, if it's getting compared to a RE or KTM and talking about making a dent in RE shares but what about expected maintenance cost if people will consider it over an RE, they'll surely consider this aspect as well
CB 350 RS 💯
4:24 -
60K (75K-1lakh on road actually) is a lot coz who's planning for a hunter, he needs to pay more than 40% of his budget.
Someone not on a tight budget won't consider a hunter as a bike.
What about the service cost. Should I expect a 8k bill?
Bullet 650 standard is an xelent deal at the price point now. Something more peppy like an SV650 V-twin/other cost more. I did love that v-twin when I had it, but the Suzuki GR650 twin I briefly had, with its 50HP was a hoot to ride.
though the pricing is competative no one matches RE is sales network and aftersales spare parts availability. So RE is still unchallenged in most of the teritories of India

I too am one of those 90s kid with HD being the dream, but but big but, HD 440x doesn't give the Harley vibe at all, it gives Hero bike with Harley badging, whereas triumph 400 feels like triumph bike with Bajaj manufacturing... My most favorite will be the jawa standard in the maroon colour, the true retro beauty 😍. If not the second most favorite is Benelli imperiale, but the colour scheme is boring. If Benelli introduces white, grey or other light colour schemes or combination of colours on the tank, that would be no1 🔥🔥
Please make a comparison video definitely for Triumph Speed 400 & Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
The opinion is much needed.
Hero has nailed it with Harley Davidson, it has more displacement and torque, and the service network of Hero Motocorp is more than anything in India. No second thought, mid model of HD 440x has ample features and has everything i need. ❤Harley Davidson since my childhood

BULLET was / is and will always be the BULLET STANDARD 350 "Kick Start" from where the name BULLET Originated and the brand became the dream of 90's kids / people
Classic is for the Hybrid / city Guys who want the feel of RE but with a lot of ease.

Sorry, not sorry 😅
Hunter 350 costs 1.49 lacs ex showroom!!.. Why will Hunter be affected by Triumph 400 at 2.23 🤷♀️
The higher models ex showroom is 1.8L .Its just 40k more .
I own a hunter and trust me the low end torque and aggression is something else. It's a chill motorcycle with some aggression.
Since you hv 2 650cc bikes, no point you go for the triumph which is almost same type but only less cc
Go for the classic 350 cc as it’s completely different from the other two bikes you hv
Bhai chhapri ho kya? 😂 Itna bada bada bike rakhe ho, age se experience rider lag rahe ho aur buying decision ke liye inn namuno se salah maang rahe ho!😂😂🤦🏻♂️ Either you’re rookie or dumb.
I think speed 400 will complete your collection.
A scaled down Thruxton! You just made my Saturday!!
Pls compare pelin comfort between speed 400 and honda highness 350. And also which age group people should bye which bike for daily office computing.
E.g. just to give a perspective they are adding 10000 rs for PDI charges
Asking more RTO charges for the same ex-showroom and engine cc price.
On road price in Rajasthan - 2.98 lac when ex-showroom price mentioned is 2.23 lac

What about Triumph Bonneville 400 ? .... If it happens will it be a tough competition for Royal Enfield classic 350?
Right now everyone is excited but once bikes start to go servicing cost and spare parts which cannot be locally available 😅😅😅then the true face valu of these bikes will come to light
Hmm, don't think that's in the plan anytime soon. But sure, that's something interesting as well.
These are locally manufactured, so spares and servicing costs are going to be lower than typical Triumph bikes. The question is just how low? It will not be BMW G310 level high but not KTM level low as well.
Hunter is a toy bike. Anyone wants a real RE feel they should go for Classic or Meteor. The only advantage of Hunter is its price.
I dont think these two can replace REs. Service is going to be a big game changer here.
The person in orange seems way to eager and interrupts bit too many times....good discussion though!
Day by day Zigwheels is upping the content..loved this video👍
400 cc 40 bhp priced 2.3L , ktm charges same spec at 3L , plz give a conclusion

Triumph Nepal me 6 months piche lunch hoga yo vi INR 6 lakhs ke around, to vi i will buy speed 400 at 1st day (will sell my duke for sure)
Jes sayin.
❤ the gentle Analysis
I chose Honda over RE for reliability and refinement. As much as I love triumph brand, I feel the models are built for a much younger buyer and not so retro looks. I can't imagine these models looking cool with all the accessories like guards, backrest, saddle stays and luggage/helmet boxes. Compare that with the CB350 or RE classic or even meteor, that relaxed feel is not there. So I like you guys said, classic 350 customers may not shift to this and I would add Honda Hness to that as well. The only missing piece I find for Honda is number of service centres.
Hines 350 is the best
I think only thing pending is a new version of RD 350 with a twin engine and this segment will go crazier...
And HD will remain here for long for sure
please suggest best first bike under 5 lakh on road in bangalore?
should i wait for r3? or go with ninja 300 now?
Service is a differentiator.... I feel, Triumph has their attitude to service wrong (not my personal experience, this is from what I have heard, hence could be grossly wrong). In my opinion Triumph is selling on their brand value... Harley will be selling on the value Hero brings... Interesting market space to watch
I have had a fair share of experience about riding and ownership of bikes....l have a Fatboy and a classic 500...personally I think triumph looks far more premium than the Harley.....but if you go for brand value obviously Harley is the winner....and about RE...the after sale service(RE s service network is unparalleled compared to both these brands)and brand value at ground level is definitely very difficult to match up to
please compare the Hunter 350 vs Classic 350 vs Harley x440 vs Triumph speed 400
J series is a crap engine..sluggish. No way should we compare it with triumph or harleys. Instead compare them with cb350 engine. Real competitor interms of engine quality and performance.
That's a big list. We will have something coming soon.

I love my Meteor 350, but that Triumph 400 is going to be VERY tempting
Western Bikes are known to be expensive to maintain the very reason Japanese rule the market hands down in every country around the globe . Japanese have proven reliability , very low cost on after sales , leading fuel efficiency and inherited smoothness and long life . Possesd with highness ,awaiting Kawa Yamaha Suzi to enter this segment. Want RE to continue lead the segment as they own
That's why an Indian company is taking over the operations.
Triumph should come with Borneville 400 with inline Engine. it vl be going to be the game changer.
The vibe in the name brings the kind of fame..in my sense😊😊..tvs should go for a rebranding..as it gives a dull dead vibe..
Only drawback to triumph is dealerships. Hdx440 is available through hero.
Elephant and fans are digging there own Graves! I honestly thought this one would be between 3.5-4 Lakhs ... But i literally got chills when i see the price. Only one thing makes me sad.. the maximum speed limit on kerala highways for two wheeler is now limited to 60!!!!! And there is AI camera everywhere.. 😐😐😐
The enginer specs are vwry close to dominor 400. The design atleast on the screen doesnt seem to be very triumph like. For my eyes when i see on screen its more like old gen pulsar (round headlight) with high quality paint (triumph spec)and golden upside forks. atleast the tank should be large enough. Atleast the tail should have been given some unique element. The very good thing that might work in its favour would be built quality and performance.
I think RE is best and than Harley, than Triumph... Harley has their own legacy... Triumph is comparatively new name in Indian market
