Talking about the quality of Hero, I own xpulse 200 4v and I had a dead battery within 4k km. Some have fuel pump issues. The 2v version is notoriously famous for engine issues. Xpulse is the current flagship of hero and has so many quality issues.
and on top of that, their service is abysmal. horrendous post sale service experience. selling my xpulse at just 12k km, and never going to buy a hero again. irrespective of whether the bike they make is good or not, their service centers are gonna ruin the bike no matter what.
@@powerdriftofficial engine issues in 2v are a huge problem and sure with 4v that might not be the case.... But 1 thing that remains unchanged is the service centers... No matter how good the bike... The service centera ruin the bikes. For eg. I went for a off road track event and I bent my handle bar because I landed a jump a little wrong, took it to the service center... They took a week to get the Handle cause part availability issues.. That's not that much of an issue. But, when they did change it... They installed the 200t handle bar, I kept saying it's the wrong one... They dint listen.... And ever since then... It's been 3 years... Gone to many different hero service centre.. Every time the same thing, yes sir it will be fixed...parts are available... Keeps bike for a week.. And then return it saying sorry sir part not available. 🤌🏽🤬
@@powerdriftofficial 4V has been improved in quality compared to 2V. The main issue for Hero is that the parts that they are getting from third-party suppliers are not being quality checked properly. Buying this bike is like a lottery. If you are lucky, you will get one with no issues..
Both bajaj nd hero have done a great job!! 👏..... Anyone commenting negatives even powedrift, is jus nitpicking!! 😊... We shud be greatfull to bajaj nd hero 🙌
@powerdrift What should be the on road price for the bike in Mumbai? Dealership mentioned that it would go up to 3L. Is this justifiable as the ex showroom is 2.23L/2.33L?
Imagine RE launching a classic100 for the sake of competing with a splendor and reaching the masses. Imagine it not having any characteristics of RE or what the brand stands. The looks, sound and emotions it generates are the primary characteristics of brands like RE and harley. If they fail on these counts what are they selling? What is HD trying to tell the Indian consumer with the x440?
A roadster derived from Xr1200...Harleys are not all about hefty crusing motorcycle...they have pan america which is different and the XR range is Morden age Harley...people saying the design is bad have not seen this in flesh...hero bikes are never photogenic and this is the same
@@vroombk If I undertake a market research on behalf of say a premium brand (likes of say Harley or BMW for example) to launch a product in a mass market (or high volume) segment, due to the aspiration levels of the customer in that segment, the market research will indicate a great opportunity. Now do I want to venture into that segment? If I want to venture into that segment can I do it without diluting what my brand stands for? BMW with their g310r did a good job, triumph seems to have done a good job. My only issue is this doesn't seem well put together. Even if they wanted to enter this segment, something close to the HD X350 (QJ motors) in terms finish, looks and quality would have been great.
accidently you boys made a super masala podcast whilst having the embargo in place... not sure if comparison also falls under "opinion" ... LOL... well im glad that i clicked on this video... This is all result of RE 650s. RE who was a small bike manufacturer went to Triumph's home and started selling big bikes, now Triumph is coming to Enfield's home to sell smaller bikes. The tables have turned. Bajaj has showed that they are the flagship Indian mass manufacturer. They have left Hero, TVS way behind. If any foreign brands wants to get their product mass produced they should only come to Bajaj. Their pricing of Triumph is something that would fit decade old tax regime when I bought new Pulsar 200NS for ₹ 96,000 on-road in 2012.
@Geeth16 So that makes them a big bike manufacturer because they made one in 1960s? That's like saying Lamborghini is a tractor manufacturer because they used to make them long ago. 99% of RE sales up until now were 20 bhp 350cc bikes which considered small in developed markets. Even now over 80% of RE sales come from 350cc.
let's wait and see the production versions because the website is specifically highlighting the fact the production version will vary. Paint quality is something which can be easily improved and with my knowledge, a lot of hero products esp vida has customisation options and Harley is famous for customisation
@@samanbasoor I doubt there will be any improvements in fit and finish from the first ride reviewers got as such changes take many many months. There will be accessories like windshield, seat cover, belly pan and luggage etc but all that doesn't change the fact that it's quality is significantly lower than Triumph's. Triumph has set the new benchmark for quality in sub 5 lakh motorcycles. Harley styling is unfinished. It looks best in vivid red color imo.
@@surajtomar4870 well there is a new video out of a customer who just visited the Harley showroom! And saw the bike first hand and recorded it! The quality looks much better esp the paint! If Hero-Harley had released a measly 300cc v-twin for 3 lakh ex showroom, I would have instantly booked it and that would have been an authentic Harley, it would be India's first v-twin engine and it would be an international product. They should have released something like QJmotor/Keeway 302c. If imported QJ SRV 300 costs 3.5 lakh than I am sure Hero could have made it under 3 lakhs.
Absolutely right Harley should sell at Harley!!!! Yes they can do a nexa showroom like maruti... But the can't sell Toyota in maruti... Hero has .. Xtreme, xpulse, xkarizma if it is called that.. they can have an xcruze.. a hero version of Harley if they want... But sell .. Harley at harley
I get why Harley went with a XR1200 roadster look rather than a traditional cruiser, indian roads r not meant for those low ground clearance cruiser and also sales r very few in that segment which is evident in recent meteor 650 and bajaj avengers
On the quality, even though this Harley is made by Hero but in America Harley's are notorious for poor quality and breaking down often (just like pre j-platform Enfield).
All the fellows are will climb up right now but what's tha actual problems like service cost, spare parts cost, maintenance cost and lastly running cost just wait and watch for 3 months atleast all facts will come up after that one can think about..... The biggest issue will be right now the existing service centres...
Guys thanks for this discussion which every rider+ youtuber is talking about..you still haven't discussed the imp part of On Road Price which is almost 1L more...and yes that was the WHAAATTTT moment for all... Bajaj has officially put on a statement on this yesterday. ..how you gonna take this and showcase these dealer atrocities to all??
Ex showroom price is good no doubt but dealers here in banglore are asking 3.3 lakh on road for speed.. so i guess this aggressive price is of no use as far as dealers are thieves. Especially keerthi triumph dealer here in blr.
dealers in other state are quoting similar price.. probably this is the strategy of Bajaj triumph to recover the cost. When it was launched I doubted the price.. how can it be less than KTM

My sense is that basis the ergonomics & ride/handling, it is more pitched at the Hunter. It is actually these factors that should be basis of categorization & comparisn. That the prices of these 3 are very disparate should not be a sole factor for not putting them into a single category. Does anyone else think this or is it just me 🤔

I also disagree with selling the speed 400 from Triumph.. then only X,Y cities people will consider it , no Z City people will consider it, because everyone one want to service their byks from their nearby town not far like 100-200km distance.. now a day Many Z citys people also buying big byks.. The upcoming duke has a new engine, design, chassis, rear suspension. Im sure it will do well. It is the most powerful single cyl bike available. But ofcourse, Triumph 400 twins will disrupt the market.
KTM won't lose much customers. In vaccum we forget that not everyone likes neo-retro styling and few yrs back I too was fond of sharp, futuristic, alien like styling of KTM, MT etc. Most youth prefer KTM styling.
And so is the harley… I seriously don’t understand why indian brands like Hero and bajaj sold out to foreign makers despite of them doing most of the Rnd for these bikes Nobody really wants a Harley or a triumph we just want a good RE alternative
One question If Speed is priced close to 3.30 on road And X440 figures shall also cross 3 lac mark considering 2.7 lac x showroom then Why shouldn’t i go for RE GT650 with 52 nm of torque and 47 bhp twin cylinder engine with on road price of 3.65 lac in my city “pathankot punjab” and reliable service network with cheaper and readily availabe parts.
Guys , one question can u please consider asking Harley india and trimph india authorities that if they are gonna keep the service costs for thier entry products like Hell as always ....Since this price seems a little low I wonder if they are gonna cost me or many like me in the servicing😢

Those who want Triumph motorcycle from Bajaj outlets, better they go for Dominar or any other bike which is easily accessible for them I don't want Triumph to sell it's bike from Bajaj outlets, it'll hamper there Goodwill only. It's a personal choice. Buying a motorcycle should be dependent on multiple parameters and I believe accessibility should be one of them. One must not buy a motorcycle only because of it's road presence and ergonomics. If the motorcycle is available near to your place then go for it otherwise look for alternatives. Dude the guy other than varun doesn't know anything. Dominar is not 172 kgs its 186 khs, duke 390 is 171kgs. And 80% of torque on triumph is available from 3000rpm i.e 30 Nm. Atleast get your facts right guys. You guys have a reputation
my bad on the weight figure - i'm not sure what you mean by this torque thing, did we say something wrong here? It is 37.5Nm
Only gripe with the triumph is that they are charging delivery charge which is 18,000 for the S400.
i think they've put out a statement clarifying that - on-road prices will only be revealed on 10 July and anything disclosed before that isn't confirmed
I will cancel my booking if this true.. it's not about money but ethics. If this is true then service and spare will be exorbitant.

They will fix it.
They have put out ORP for every state.
I am wondering what will happen to Honda CB300R and CB300F
Well well well...
Wow! Superb podcast and yes this is golden Era of bikers ❤
Cheers Hrishi :)
We had a couple of issues with our long-term 2V, nothing with the 4V.
2:09 it actually comes nearly around 2.7 lacs after triumph’s handling charges n some bullshit

I'll definitely buy a Triumph scrambler 400 black colour once launched in my state J & k
the black is pretty sweet
Please share when will be delivery started.

WHAT
@powerdrift What should be the on road price for the bike in Mumbai? Dealership mentioned that it would go up to 3L. Is this justifiable as the ex showroom is 2.23L/2.33L?
Wait for a couple of days
the on-road prices will be confirmed by July 10
We hope you have the answer Harsh

Imagine RE launching a classic100 for the sake of competing with a splendor and reaching the masses. Imagine it not having any characteristics of RE or what the brand stands. The looks, sound and emotions it generates are the primary characteristics of brands like RE and harley. If they fail on these counts what are they selling? What is HD trying to tell the Indian consumer with the x440?
A roadster derived from Xr1200...Harleys are not all about hefty crusing motorcycle...they have pan america which is different and the XR range is Morden age Harley...people saying the design is bad have not seen this in flesh...hero bikes are never photogenic and this is the same
Obviously you don’t know how market research and study works. If you may, define a Harley for me please
@@vroombk Having ridden it yourself, would you be able to make the same statement Karan makes of Triumph at 12:00 for the Harley?
accidently you boys made a super masala podcast whilst having the embargo in place... not sure if comparison also falls under "opinion" ... LOL... well im glad that i clicked on this video... Im gonna wait for Scrambler... and gonna get rid of my scrambler/Bagger built TB500 once Scrambler version of Triumph 400 is available... i guess will justify skipping hero's 450 and RE's 450 Himalayan... would love to hear some thoughts on same...
We managed what we could. Thanks :)
Super masala. Love it :D
The May grey looks much darker and richer. Also, there is a screw at the rear section which will allow people to customise the rear
Nice thread
And after sales service as well. Have heard Triumph after sales is not good.
yup have heard many mixed reviews!
Its a dealership to dealership thing.
Like VP said, its a dealership to dealership issue.
Harleys r meant for customisation so can we fix the rear ourselves 🤣

If Hero-Harley had released a measly 300cc v-twin for 3 lakh ex showroom, I would have instantly booked it and that would have been an authentic Harley, it would be India's first v-twin engine and it would be an international product. They should have released something like QJmotor/Keeway 302c. If imported QJ SRV 300 costs 3.5 lakh than I am sure Hero could have made it under 3 lakhs.
A v-twin Harley at that price seems unrealistic.
Oh n xoom
U did not speak about with issues with hero... Way less then Bajaj... I had both.. so hero is definately 1 up
I get why Harley went with a XR1200 roadster look rather than a traditional cruiser, indian roads r not meant for those low ground clearance cruiser and also sales r very few in that segment which is evident in recent meteor 650 and bajaj avengers
@@user-wb3fo1sj8m nope it won't
On the quality, even though this Harley is made by Hero but in America Harley's are notorious for poor quality and breaking down often (just like pre j-platform Enfield).
Ah haa. The CBUs that we get in India are really well built though.
All the fellows are will climb up right now but what's tha actual problems like service cost, spare parts cost, maintenance cost and lastly running cost just wait and watch for 3 months atleast all facts will come up after that one can think about..... The biggest issue will be right now the existing service centres...

What is the ground clearance of the triumph and how much is the suspension travel on Harley?

Guys thanks for this discussion which every rider+ youtuber is talking about..you still haven't discussed the imp part of On Road Price which is almost 1L more...and yes that was the WHAAATTTT moment for all...
Bajaj has officially put on a statement on this yesterday. ..how you gonna take this and showcase these dealer atrocities to all??
We are waiting for the official on-road pricing from the brand directly.
I strongly feel the X440 will be a great compitior to the Royal Enfield 350s
For sure. In terms of feel, the X is closer to the Classic
😮, flabbergasted.
Keerthi Triumph already are infamous for their poor customer service.

hero will provide the service for HD x440
There are 100 premium outlets opening in the next 6-8 odd months.
You have the answer we believe
...theres a question that has been bothering me. YT videos at large pitch these 2 models against the RE Classic. My sense is that basis the ergonomics & ride/handling, it is more pitched at the Hunter. It is actually these factors that should be basis of categorization & comparisn. That the prices of these 3 are very disparate should not be a sole factor for not putting them into a single category. Does anyone else think this or is it just me 🤔
RE Mateor 350 was going to buy now these launches blown it out, Super confusing i ended up booking both will see after driving and then decide which way to go. Please share your thoughts.
I would go for the HD X440 anyday. Though, SPEED 400 looks more stylish, it has many plastic panels to reduce the weight. Ground clearance is very necessary for Indian roads and HD has 170mm whereas SPEED offers only 158mm. Also, the Harley offers a modern looking TFT display with connected features as standard. Engine, is smoother in Harley and the rider comfort is also good. So, it's HD X440 for me. 😊😊😊

These points are major turn off for me. You can't prove me wrong at these points. So, you're wrong. 🤣🤣🤣
Feel the sound of HD X440 and you will feel something is pumping in iour heart but speed 400 sound is nort thumbing sound so I will go with HD X440

Its a derivative of the new duke 390 engine. You can say its the dominar engine since the dominar also uses a derivative of the current 390 engine.

Those who want Triumph motorcycle from Bajaj outlets, better they go for Dominar or any other bike which is easily accessible for them
I don't want Triumph to sell it's bike from Bajaj outlets, it'll hamper there Goodwill only. It's a personal choice. Buying a motorcycle should be dependent on multiple parameters and I believe accessibility should be one of them. One must not buy a motorcycle only because of it's road presence and ergonomics.
If the motorcycle is available near to your place then go for it otherwise look for alternatives. The company like Triumph must not affect their premiumness.
