      Over here in Taiwan both CB350 are saleing like hot cake, flying off dealer lot, mostly because of the low price, and they do look pretty cool
      And our unique right of way here limmilt all motorcycle to local road so the 20 something horse power is more than enough for local roads and urban riding
      But if you are in UK where bike are allow on highway, I think you may find the 350s a tiny bit under power when riding highway speeds

    The new 400 seems on par with the KTM 390, but with decent modern classic looks. The 400X I'm most excited about as a weekday commuter, with actual ability for weekends off road. I'd love an XE variant with some even longer stroke suspension, higher ground clearance, and spoked wheels (please Triumph!)... even so the standard 400X should hit the sweet spot for many. The new RE 450 Himalayan could be stiff competition for it though, especially if it maintains RE's typically aggressive pricing.

    Great review Motobob. I think the scram looks wise is up there and for the price. The trident seems a similar sizing and also comparable to the Benelli offerings in sizing for smaller bikes like the Benelli Leoncino 500 scrambler and 800 scrambler that are also lovely bikes. The only discernible factor for me buying these bikes is the dealership network in the United Kingdom and the people willing to work on them which puts the likes of triumph at the top but the prices are also fairly high in comparison to the models I mentioned. I forgot to mention another Italian bike the Cabalerro fabric scrambler 125 and 500 which are beautiful looking machines and FM moto
    And motoguzzi bigger 650 scramblers. I am not a fan of the 400 Harley rear end scambler fendering 😆

    The Triumph 400x looks like a cool bike for sure and can do some light offroading but lacks the suspension travel and ground clearance compared to a scram 411 or a Himalayan. Most of these "scrambler" bikes are just street bikes mascurading as true offroad bikes. The Scram 411 is the only bike l know of that is actually derived from an offroad ADV platform all the rest are just street bikes. More claimed power than the Triumph's or any of the mentioned rivals + 270° P-twin layout should also produce the best exhaust note!

  • @markellott5620
    @markellott5620 Год назад +4

    I bought a Scram as a training bike. I'm doing DAS training with students on MT07s. I have no problem keeping pace with these bikes out on the dual carriageway. You just hold onto the gears a bit longer. Off road it's agile, stable and easy to ride - it's certainly well beyond my level of competence. Where Enfield cuts the costs is in the peripherals, so you just have to accept that you will be upgrading things like chains, brake pads and so on. The tyres are just fine, despite being budget, so I'll wear them out before changing them.
    On the Triumphs, I agree with Stuart Fillingham here - the Enfields are not really the competition as they are very different machines with different characteristics and price range. Overall, I suspect that the Triumphs despite being pitched at the Asian market will do better in places like Europe.

      Considering the RE 650 weighs about 30kgs more than the 400x the extra 7 HP probably wouldn't make much difference, so it's just price then and what brand you like more RE being Indian owned and Triumph being a UK company

    such a good view, such good understanding about these bikes, i have been riding the ktm for quite few years, and that single cylinder is too much viby and ofcourse its a fun bike , but after all these years, i think i am in need of a twin cylinder 500 cc engine instead of a 390 from ktm , because i heard that honda's engine is very versatile and with very less vibration, plus the seating when you compare with the ktm is wider and comfy, just like the one on hunter or triumph,
    in your reivew i think you missed on cb500 or cb500x which is the direct competition to these bikes, i didn't knew there was a CL500 unless i just came to know from your video. thanks
