The kid was Stans younger brother. He was mentioned in the 2nd and 4th verse. Another thing that people seem to either miss or don't mention is at the end of the song, when Em says "it was you, damn" and the lighting strikes, you can see Stans pissed off reflection in the window as if he's haunting Em. Gives me chills every time. Legendary song.
Not so fun fact: When gen z talks about being a stan they have no idea that this is what that term derived from. I never refer to myself as a stan just a fan
The craziest thing in my opinion though is from what I’ve seen (if I’m wrong please correct me, no hard feelings) the people that call themselves a Stan of “insert artist” are usually the ones that hate Eminem because he used to say a lot of vulgar and I guess technically homophobic and sexist things and they have no clue that he’s the one who originated it
The messed up thing is that society has seemingly taken the wrong message from this song, people who are huge fans of something now call themselves Stan's as if it's something to be proud of, despite Em's point clearly being that this hyper obsession and fixation on celebrities and people we don't know if unbelievably unhealthy and sometimes dangerous, take John Hinkley Jr. for example.

Stan is in the dictionary 🐐
Been a minute since i heard the explicit version, so many people react to the chopped up censored version.
Right..Classic track 💯
The clean version is a tragedy
That was Stan's younger brother Matthew. Stan talked about him in the song. React to 'Bad Guy' it's part 2 of stan it's from Matthew's side.
