The fact Marshall credited Kim for being the backbone of the family before he blew says alot about how grateful he was to Kim at that time.
This song always touches my heart. You can feel how much he adores his daughters. I love that Karen is sensitive and really feels the music. The first time I heard this I was also very teary.❤

This song hits me HAARD. For years dealing with anxiety and other issues kept me from being able to keep a job and had to rely on other people to get her bday and chrismas presents and provide essentials. I cry every time on that bar
This was one of the first songs Em ALMOST makes it the entire somg with out cursing.
After my daughter was born she spent 3 months in the NICU. She was in a hospital 4 hours away from where I live that I could only spend weekends with her because of work. I would listen to this song on my way home from seeing her and just bawl my eyes out because I hated leaving her and her mom like that. I still get emotional listening to this song because I think about those times still!
The way Em can literally nuke artists out of orbit and slaughter them so ruthlessly, then on the opposite side of the coin bring tears to people is amazing. His talents are honestly phenomenal. So gifted, can legit either make you cry or make you want to burn the world down. No one else has this ability.

I agree with Karen 100%, there were some Birthdays/Christmases/Holidays my dad wasn't home, especially if he was on a rig in another state, but things were always from Mama and Daddy.
Hailie has said that they did shelter the kids, she doesn't know or realize how it was until she looks back at 'archive' footage, Nate probably knew more than the other 3, just because of his age when Marshall went to get him.
I hear the lyrics and he's just riddled with guilt, hearing from looking back and he was so much harder on himself than he needed to be but as a parent, I completely get it. We try and sometimes we succeed at some of it, but not all of it.

My oldest son had to be more responsible to help and he never said nothing but now that he is older he has some resentment but I never told children adult businesses because they were kids. I second guess maybe I should of told them what was going on..I thought I was protecting them. I pray one day for healing for him and us. I had to work for them. I wish he could see that. I wanted them to have good life's and they do. I sacrificed relationships to take them camping, sports, monster trucks, fishing. They all three turned out good men. Good jobs and families.i was kinda shocked about it but I pray you God every day.
