When the G-2-C came out, I purchased one just because I liked the fit and price range. I didn't need another subcompact 9m.m. but it was attractive to me. After taking it to the range, I fell in love with this little weapon. . .
I feel the same way I bought mine loved it so much I bought the G3 c g3 and gx4 so I got all 4 best guns on the market my opinion though regardless of the money
@@4theloveofguns915 yes sir.😎👍 I don't know if you know this yet but, they make the micro Roni kits for the Taurus line up now. It's a nice investment to turn any of your Taurus gun into a PCC.💯
I have had the PT111 G2 for over 5 years. It’s been to the range many times without any FTF or FTE. It’s been worth every penny spent! 😉 love my Taurus! ❤️
I love my G2C for daily carry. I have a few other guns I carry as well, Glock, Kimber, H&K, but though it is the cheapest in my collection, the Taurus has been the choice for about 4 months now. It's small form, easy to conceal, comfortable, fires smoothly, it's all around a great little gun. Also being on the thin side (I'm 6'6 and weigh about 160) it doesn't dig into my hip and I can wear it all day and I forget it's there. Older vid, the G3C is out now, but 2022, you still can't go wrong with a G2C. One tip, oil it right out the box, mine felt 'dry' but after a little Hoppes it slides smooth a butter.
I just bought the G2c as my first gun. Going into it, I wanted something that I would enjoy using and that my wife would be comfortable shooting as well. Needless to say, after we both have fired several hundred rounds with it, we both love it and I know I didn't make a bad choice with this gun. Thanks for your review and stay safe out there.
A lot of people might think I’m crazy but I absolutely love the trigger on this gun. Bought this gun for $240. A lot of fun for a little price. For all the people who don’t own this gun, I would highly recommend it. Don’t let the price and the brand turn you away!!
Buddy of mine bought one, I tried it and fell in love. Its a quality firearm that can compete with more premium handguns in its class but cost half as much. Needless to say I am getting one for myself very soon.
You have to dry fire it just to field strip it, so no worries there. I’m a Glock guy, and I still am, but this is one of the most impressive pieces I’ve come across in a long, long time...especially considering it costs about half of what my carry gun G-43 does. So impressed, I’ve got two of them in the safe.
I have the same exact one that he's showing in this video The Grey and I paid 200 for it but I'm going to wind up getting the one with us stainless slide.. I absolutely love this gun
This is like the Glock, but actually perfected. I have *NEVER* been a fan of the "No Safety" feature of the Glock. I know, the tactical folks will tell me that will "get me killed" but I'm far more likely to shoot myself with an accidental trigger pull (either by the trigger being caught on something or just pressure applied to the trigger area accidentally) than I am to die from a 1 second flip of a safety switch when I draw the pistol. Plus, I learned on 1911s, so this isn't a foreign concept to me. Everyone seems shocked that Taurus makes good guns. My father owned their revolvers, I own a 617 and have never had any issues with them. While they are "budget friendly" that sure as hell doesn't make them cheap. In my mind, maybe it means we are being over-charged for similar pistols with similar features.
@@FacultyFan Combat veteran here, You are mostly right. I had my rifle on safe when I went out on patrols. Never did I regret having to flick the safety to start firing. its a split second slower. but it can save you if for instance you fall or stumble or have to jump a ditch and the gun lands wrong.... Its a personal choice. Most of the "Tacticool" guys have never been on a 2 way range in any meaningful way.
@timmybmn price definitely went up. I paid 400 for just one lol after tax and Eerything. thing. that’s also with a 30 dollar discount lol. People are seeing how fire this gun is as they should
Purchased the G2c after looking at a lot of videos and am extremely pleased with the quality I received for a very low price. Thanks for your excellent review of this very nice gun!
Wow that many rounds & no malfunctions.i own a smith & wesson m&p shield.9mm.but looking at this side arm i actuly think it looks pretty sweet.i like taurus & am thinking of buying one just to have one.
You know I really liked my PT111G2. This is an improvement over that. I think I most people would take their Taurus blinders off, they would find this to be a good gun to recommend.
The G2C, for the most part, is the same as the G2. The main, and best difference, is the lack of that locking system in the slide. They ditched it completely on the G2C. The little things are the roll marks on the slide and the grip texture is a little more aggressive than the G2.
Have had mine for about a year...slide was not returning forward completely at first. Took it apart cleaned and lubricated the rails, fires flawlessly now. I noticed when I first took it apart it was dirty and pretty dry..love this gun
Compared to Sig Sauer, it most definitely is way more affordable. If you get your panties in a twist with someone pointing that out, that is your own personsal issue. Not sure what else to tell you, cupcake.
Obviously the new people at Taurus took the best of everything around them while rounding out the G2C. It's a Glock + S&W with a 1911 style safety. 12 rounds. And it shoots well! The long trigger take-up to the wall is exactly what I want in a carry pistol. Re-strike capability. Conceals very well. Pricing this pistol around $200 was genius move by Taurus...they are snatching up market share with undeniable price point value.
p trax you are the man! That's exactly what is needed for carry, for the many! Hopefully fast resets like I seen on videos is also real. Very impressed at fast shooting rates down range on some videos. Waiting for my new one. $189.99 plus tax. Can't pass that up even for carry for my wife!
Yes, very fast. The reset position becomes reflex. And the recoil absorbs well with the springs, weight, and balance. Taurus did their homework with this pistol.
I have a PT 111 gen 2 and it has been a gem! It is the same pistol. The trigger dingus is fairly particular, you really need to be sure to depress it. Do NOT get the ProMag 32 round magazine, it is inconsistent functioning from pistol to pistol. Although the sites themselves are plastic, the exterior frame of the rear sights is metal. A lot of outlets sell these for $200. I have been very happy with mine and I probably put just under a thousand rounds down range with it. As far as I'm concerned, for the price, size, weight, trigger, safety, capacity, and reliability, this was the pistol of the year. Of course, since it was an expensive and a Taurus, a lot of guns knobs just turn their noses up at it if they even knew that it existed. Those of us that are cost-benefit shoppers were aware of this, gave it a shot, and were rewarded with a great find.
Well said King! I agree that more people should give it a try. I think they would be pleasantly impressed as I have been. An excellent pick up indeed. Thank you and cheers!
I admit I was the same til I borrowed a friend's and carried it for a week and did some range time and drills. I was gonna buy another Glock or mp to keep in my glove box full time but I ended up buying two of these instead one for the car and one to keep hidden in my living room in case I couldn't get to the ones in my bed room My brother gave me some grief and talked about how how o had one failure to ejects out of 500 rounds (note that it was near the very end of that run and probably was something with the round itself) and I'm like dude...when the hell do you expect me to get in a 500 round fire fight with a rinky dink handgun ? Better yet when do you expect me to NOT have a clean and oiled carry option?
@Apple Lysol, mine requires that you hold in the bottom of the magazine, it moves a quarter inch up, then it will cycle rounds. I keep it in memoriam to never buy Pro Mag products.
Finally got to hold one of these today in my local gun store. Got to say I was impressed. If I didn’t already own a subcompact 9mm (Glock 43) I’d pick up a G2C
I bought my nail polish (red & white) at the thrift store. Felt compelled to tell the clerk “My wife’s gonna really like this!” He rolled his eyes at me. Not sure if he bought my story. But now my old eyes can pickup the sight picture much quicker!
I got my G2c about 3 months ago and have about 300 rounds through it so far. I love the gun. Fits my hand well and is reliable; no jams or undo stoppages. Would recomend to anyone looking for a smaller gun on a budget; a tick over $200 new in the box.
One of my friends (a new shooter) recently bought a PT111 G2 new for $207.00 + tax. The salesman was trying to talk him out of it, but I talked him into it. Good purchase.
I hate when they do that. I was showing this and mp sheilds to my gf for a purse gun and this dude behind the counters trying to show her a full sized barreta and Glock 17 bc it's wat military and law enforcement use..... I'm like dude she's not gonna carry something that big and heavy but he went into the schpeel of the larger magazines the reduced recoil bc of the weight and finally we just left and went to another store. I get it they are trying to be helpful but sometimes it seems they are more about pushing their preference than meeting the actual needs of the buyer.
This is a great gun. I had a couple rounds of Winchester steel case ammo stick in the chamber (did the same thing in other guns as well), but otherwise flawless function after getting close to 1000 rounds. The rear sight kept losing elavtion adjustment so Taurus sent me a new one, but I went ahead and bought the Lakeline fiber optic sights and have forgotten about how terrible the factory ones were. I have complete faith this firearm will work if I ever need it to. It works, it's comfortable, fun to shoot and the triggers on comparable guns at twice the price are far from perfect as well. What's not to love?
I purchased the G2C about 4 yrs ago. Installed the stainless steel guide rod, stainless steel striker guide and a stainless finish barrel and I love it. Put over 1500 rounds without any hiccups. Awesome gun!!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Newbie here, the G2C (silver slide, TEN round mags) is my first firearm, I got it a week ago, so the only comparisons I have are range rentals before that, a couple of Glocks, including the 48 and a larger one I don't recall the model number. I like the G2c. I liked the 48 too, but at a significant price difference for the same performance? Being a newbie, I have no real experience to compare the triggers, so to ME the trigger is mostly fine, and my theory on the long travel is due to the double-strike capabilities: to allow the double-action without needing a heavy pull. The wall, or breakpoint is well-defined, I was able to quickly pull to that point to be ready once I centered my aim. My only complaint after some range time and dry-firing, is actually the safety blade in the trigger. It doesn't sit flush when pulled so it does feel like a blade after a while.
im a newbie too and looking at this one as a potential ccp option down the road after i get more experience. i just purchd a Taurus PT92 alum frame stainless slide with wood grip upgrades its a blingy beast to say the least. so happy with it so far. if u see this update me on ur g2c
I sand my Glocks trigger down very lightly to round it off not really sand it down. the stock trigger and blade is awful on my gen3 17 but it's my carry so I'm not going to change any significant parts out.
Thank you my friend! I am more of a operator and you my friend are an artist with these videos. I wish I could make as smooth of a video or talk as nice as you. LOL! Great job.
Taurus needs to fix the magazine pricing. If this is going to be a carry gun. Most recommend cycling the mags every 6 months. I would even prefer a spring option but wolf springs doesnt make one for this gun. I think this is a mitake considering the popularity of this gun. $60 tp replace the mags and I paid $179 for the pt111 g2. Other guns have much cheaper mag options.
I bought a Millenium G2 for my son 3 years ago for $250. It was his first pistol. I really liked it. I carried a CZ P07 at the time. I love that pistol. That being said, I purchased a G2C for myself for $217. I bought an Alien Gear holster for it and hardly know I am wearing it. It shoots well, and I will be carrying it from now on.
Do a google search for Taurus G2C upgrades, there is a carbon trigger replacement for $20 right now. It's supposed to remove at least 20 % of the huge take up on this pistol when you install it. Also nice replacement stainless steel spring assemblies and springs. I forget their name, something like Lakeline. I think their in Florida, not sure though.
Jim Kosz Excellent ,thank you. I got the guide road from LakeLand but I was not aware of the new trigger, I will look into it. Thanks a lot for the info!
@@francisdrake8742 It is quite a bit of disassembly work to change it out, but install videos are good to follow. Only have to do it once. Should be a very noticeable change they say...20% difference I think. Good Luck, waiting for my new G2C to arrive next week.
I've never had an original PT111, but I do have a G2. My G2 has performed surprisingly well and not to mention, good looking. The G2C has my attention.
I just got mine the day before you published this video and I shot it today. I put about 150 rounds of 124 gr. and 115 gr. Aguila, Magtech, Perfecta and Herters (all brass ammo) through from 4 different magazines without any problems. Two of the factory, Taurus magazines I bought from Academy for $54.00, delivered, for both mags.. They are marked made in the USA, while the magazines that came with the gun are marked, made in Brazil. The American made magazines have a more seamless, seam in the back, but otherwise are identical. Like you, I'll be putting some more rounds through it before carrying it.
Funny I never thought to try my Canik mags in my G2C. But yes they do fit and feed. They don't lock back on empty and they don't drop free. So not perfect but usable.
I've had the G2 for several years & it is a great truck gun as others have said. Mine has been very reliable; mags are reasonable & easy to find. There are a few nice aftermarket upgrades available which says a lot. To me it is a double stack Shield which is my EDC. Very good review!
Excellent review KS!! For the money you won't find a better brand new gun period. The G2C is my Truck gun, cuz if it gets stolen or confiscated.. only out $200! Thanks again and God bless!!👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Being a Taurus I was apprehensive, but so far my G2c seems to have been a good purchase. On ebay you can buy a flat floorplate for your concealed carry magazine.
Hi KS, I like to start saying that, although the G2C is fairly new to the market the PT111 is been out there for quite a while and there are tons and tons of reviews about it. I bought one some six months ago and before I did I watched every video on the web, so, at this point to talk about measurements and texture of the grips is out of it. By now the main issue is reliability and craftsmanship. Is it well made? It’s reliable? Can it become anyone’s EDC? It is obvious that a S&W, Sig, Colt and many other brands enjoy a far better reputation than Taurus, but, is this particular gun doing the job, yes or not! Well from my point of view and experience with this tool it has demonstrated to be 100% reliable after 400+ rounds with out one hiccup using all kinds of amo, cheap and expensive ones, and is it still in one piece with minimal to none wear on it’s components. The trigger, definitely it is not the best, nothing I cannot live with but is it not the greatest. Something people have to stop saying in the reviews is “for the money “. I think that this is an awesome gun, no matter how much I paid for, it’s got very many features that not may expensive guns in it’s category have. 12+1 in a very small, shootable, double strike capability, Reliable and concealable weapon it’s a lot. And you get all this in a very affordable package. This gun is worth every penny you invest in it to make it better, that is if you want to, I can live with mine just the way it is.
Agreed, it is flat better than the Sig 365 and every other sub compact as far as I am concerned. . . considering the price. Remind me how many rounds you get in a PPS, G43, or 9mm Shield. . . that is what I thought. It has already been proven to be more reliable than the Sig, that much is obvious. It holds 12+1, a pretty impressive package. I replaced the guide rod and recoil spring. I need to buy more of them.
Thanks for the feedback. Clearly you like the gun. Although you have experience with the PT111 and G2C, others may not, so giving the stats is not “out of it”. And, the G2C is fairly new so it’s even more relevant. I try to consider all aspects of guns I review so it can be as universal as possible for a wide audience. As for “for the money” it’s important that people understand this is a budget gun, so the features become more critical and it’s good to highlight the positives as I did in the video. I stay unbiased and transparent in my reviews to ensure accuracy and limit criticism unless it’s unavoidable. Cheers
I find the guns with deeper grooves are more inclined to cut you if you are too aggressive with how you do it, so I prefer the milder styling of the G2C
Recently bought a G2C - my first handgun. Had problems with the first 150 rounds using Fiocchi FMJ. Called Taurus and they acknowledged the pistol can be a little picky about ammo. One of their recommendations was Blazer Brass. Shot 150 rounds of that through it without a problem. Had an experienced shooter fire some rounds with it - he really liked it. I have found it easy to shoot accurately, really like the trigger and I think the sights are very good. It's a little large and heavy for CCW in central Florida given the heat and typical Florida uniform (shorts and a tee). I'm getting a Kel Tec P-3AT for pocket carry. The G2C will be for home defense and fun.
Federal premium is really good too. Although I prefer blazer brass. Sometimes I’ll get a box of both and go to the range. Not one failure yet. 200 rounds in
My G2C is my EDC and I absolutely love it. Perfect size for my hand. I have dumped 500+ rounds through it with no problems. Only thing I changed was my Barrel guide rod to a full stainless steel one from Lakeside LLC. I am very happy with it and it conceals perfectly. I bought mine with the Od green frame with black slide brand new and walk oit the door with background check for $180.
It's a fabulous firearm! I have the PT111G2 and it straight rocks at the range. You won't regret the purchase. I bought mine for my wife. She picked it out and then said that it was to big for her to carry comfortably, so I happily took it over. I thought it was a bit small at first and it took some getting used to the long trigger, but after a few mags I was hooked.
I'm in the market for a CCW/ range warrior and this came up in my search. The length of the take up actually sets my mind at ease that it won't go off unintentionally. I'm strongly considering it.
Beggars can’t be choosers and choosie Mothers choose Gif!! I love the trigger on my 3 year old PT111 G2. Mine has been perfect since day one!!! Best $270.00 gun purchase I have ever made. I bought my mine before the price dropped and I still think I got a great deal.
Well said! I agree, this thing has truly impressed and can’t wait to continue working with it. Excellent option, especially for the price. Thank you and cheers Dj!
Haha!! The G2C would be a spot on truck gun indeed. Been thinking of revisiting the G19 Gen 5 and just may pull the trigger on it. They are excellent guns. Thank you and cheers!
Thorough and well balanced review. I'm not into polymer pistols much, but I've got a PT111 G2; as well as a Shield. I didn't like the G2 trigger at first, but once I got used to it I got to where I preferred it. I liked Glocks as a duty weapon, but if I had to carry a polymer pistol for CCW, I'd probably go with the G2.
Nice video, I enjoyed it so much I had to watch again. I bought my PT 111 G2 actually in 2015 it has been a really good gun. I preciously posted that mine was 3 years old, actually I think it’s almost 5 years old!! Been very happy with it. Shooting off the super short reset is sweetness! What a great gun.
Incredibly smart of TAURUS gun company to knowingly sell a gun worth well over $400 for half the price.. Results? Controversial and impressive results.. In turn, quantity over quality income for the company while all happy customers for an under priced gun that performs like a much more expensive / higher end gun.. In turn, a win win situation.. everyone's happy
I give a ton of praise to Taurus to develop and market a pistol with all those features for my $189.99 with all the world competition building auto pistols. If my new pistol (arrives next week) has any issues I sure as hell have got some $$$$ headroom to correct it with nice upgrades. Smart marketing for sure. Example: getting rid of carbon rod spring assembly with S.S. one $38. WOW.
The new Taurus G2C only has a ONE year warranty for the original buyer, unlike it's predecessor the G2 that has a lifetime warranty. I know this for a fact because it's on the warranty page in the owner's manual and on their website. And they're still made in brazil, but they intentionally made those words really small and hard to read (under the ejection port).
The company took a bath with lawsuits and honoring repairs on earlier models so they can't maintain the lifetime warranty anymore, but that said, their quality issues seem to have improved on current offerings.
@@easyfiveOsink now if they would get the replacement pistols to the owners still waiting. They've had my titanium pt111 for 11 months now and they keep saying it's processing. They finally said it shipped, that was 4 weeks ago. Still no pistol. 🤬😡
I literally just got G2c back today. Paper work states it was repaired via life time warranty. I was hitting two walls the Tiger bar needed adjustment. Fun gun very accurate and have had no malfunction after 800 rounds
I know this video is a few years old, but I was just gifted a Taurus G2C. To be totally honest, I was very hesitant at first too. It wasn't because of the value of the gun, but rather the manufacturer instead. It's common knowledge that Taurus firearms have fallen short of quality in the recent past. But, I wasn't going to turn down a free compact. I was pleasantly surprised after I fired a few magazines through it. It actually felt good in my hands, (I always try to fire with either hand to better familiarize myself with the firearm). For such a light gun, it had much less recoil than I expected too . The trigger is something that takes some getting used to, but once you get used to the dynamics of how it works, it's almost 2nd nature. Alot of people say im "old school" because I prefer a safety on my firearms rather than just a hard trigger pull and pressure plate on the handle. When i see the safety lever in the "up" position, I know its on safe. I took it down to my local shooting range and checked around for optics and tactical lights for it. Unfortunately when it comes to optics, I couldn't find a red dot site that would fit on it without interfering with the "loaded" indicator. Obviously, you don't want to obstruct that for safety and functionality purposes. As for the tactical light, there are a lot of lights that fit on the rail directly in front of the trigger guard. Streamlight actually has a good assortment that will fit the G2C. The only question is how you want it to sit on the gun. Do you want it flush with the barrel or protrude from the front. Also, (and I shouldn't have to say this, but I will anyway), if you plan on carrying this with optics and/or light make sure you get the appropriate holster for it with the add-ons you have installed on your firearm.
I've had 3 Taurus' with the PT111 G2 my most current and its my EDC. I stand behind Taurus who sells quality without brandnameitis. That's an inflammation of the price (substantially over quality) because of the brand name stamped on the side. Ok, I'l say it...the Glock craze is over rated. The fact that military selected a Sig doesn't make it better than a good deal the government got. If you want the right price point for a quality firearm, Taurus is the brand. And no, I don't work for Taurus, don't get free stuff from them and I'm not looking for anything from them. Just giving my humble opinion.
Glock is like the iPhone of the gun world. Every new gen is almost the exact same thing as before and they rely on the legacy of years ago and brand loyalty. When the gen 5 came out I looked at it I looked t it's price and I'm like...hmm I can buy a MUCH better hk sig etc for this price or I can see less money and get roughly the same gun out of a sw or Springfield Glock is getting into dangerous waters where it's not going to be high quality enough to merrit its cost compared to other options in that price range But it's going to be too expensive when compared to the guns of similar ergo and out of the box options that are hundred of dollars cheaper Yes they are reliable but how often do you find yourself in a situation where you're going to shoot 1000 rounds without cleaning or oiling your gun? How often are you going to dunk your gun into a mud puddle and have to shoot? How often are you gonna drop 500 bucks on a gun that you then need to drop more money in after market parts to make it's erognomics or aesthetics match the next cheaper option? Much like iPhone people are waking up realizing just bc it says Glock and costs $600 doesn't mean it's automatically the best
There will be reports on almost any firearm out there, just hope not to see them en masse like the P365 has had. Teething problems with a Sig at that price point is not so good, though.
KS, I found an after market 3d printed group of triggers and extended mag sleeve. I put in a flat face, no dingus trigger that breaks in about the same location as Glock triggers giving you a familiar and more comfortable firing point way before the back of the trigger well. It works awesome ang got it from Keep Tinkering on RUclips. It does remove the Second Strike capability though, but G2, G2C are striker guns not hammer so most don't have that ability anyway. Yes, one less safety without dingus, but has manual safety anyhow. Great job on a great gun. I carry it EDC, but since I'm fat, no Appendix carry.
I did some research and i haven't heard anything negative about this gun..yes i was skeptical when i saw the price and brand..but it's videos like this here got me thinking about getting this gun.. it's a perfect size to carry and perform just a well as the big name brands..so yeah im definitely getting this one..
I bought one yesterday and took it and my g26 with g19 magazine to the range. The first time I pulled the trigger it went click instead of boom. That might have been my fault because I had been dry firing it the day before. The next 80 times I pulled the trigger it went boom. I had to adjust the sights to get bullseyes and I think the sight screws backed off a bit. My g26 effortlessly gave me bullseyes but it's more stable as it is heavier. I bought the Taurus because I wanted a frame safety. If a frame safety is what the Army wants it's good enough for me. I also liked the Taurus trigger as it is easy to ride the reset.
I bought my G2c on Father’s day for 199.00 (213.00 OTD). What a great value. I put 150+ rounds of Speer 124gr +p through it when I first got it without and cleaning or oiling and it performed flawlessly. I am happy to see where these pistols are taking off and people are realizing the value these bring. This has become my constant companion since buying it and it travels in a Vertx bag with extra mag and light. Thanks for a great review on the G2c.
That awesome Eric! Great to hear more and more success stories about the Taurus. It seems to really be well liked and I can see why. Thank you and cheers!
The PT111 G2 has been my CCW since 2013. Thousands of rounds through this pistol and it is very reliable, even with hollow points. Can recommend this gun without hesitation. Great review KS. Keep 'em coming.
Got one, love it. This gun loves the Lee 95 gr rnd/flat tip.(for you bullet casters out there). Fits right in a back brace. Shoots great groups!! Go get one
Man I dig that Orange holster nice work to Harry!!! I have three of these G2C they all have approx 200 rounds through them and they each fill particular roles(not carry). I carry Appendix even though i have had three stomach operation in the last five months via a Belly Band using a cross draw method. Where there's a will there's a way lol Super review as always sir. P.S. The only thing I upgraded is the guide rod and spring i installed a stainless set up from Lakeland
I own a pt111 G2c, love it. Every single firearm buff say the same exact things about this pistol, they love it and have never had any issue like misfires or ejection problems, every single shooter has found it to be extremely reliable and of course a very fun fire arm at the range..probably because they can just fire away with out the cursing about jams. I have several different CC , but this Taurus has become my #1 always goes with me.
!!!!! WARNIMG !!!!! Dont do what i just did today at the range. I went to shooters world, nice indoor range here inner city Phoenix, I was to choked up on the handle, as the carrier recocked in mid fire, the bottom of the carrier, the carbon fiber plastic, is very angular sharp, as my pt111 fired, the carrier, skimmed across my thumb knuckle. Cut me pretty bad, most other firearms, this area is not as jagged sharp. Ive fired over 1000 rounds in this firearm, never had that happen before with this pistol. I did something similar when in the military with the M-16, cut the hell out of my hand with lower retriever trying to field strip on the range..I bled lots, but hey, im military, had worse in my butthole LOL, BUT HEY GUYS, watch that carrier...or SLIDE ASSEMBLY, if you notice the bottom, how it catches on the slide of the frame, the plastic track, it will come right across your bare thumb knuckle, its very sharp, i may file it down some for safety, most fire arms have some kind of system like this, but not so sharp. I learned to choke it up for the best possible grip and steady my firing position, always two handed, never fire a 9mm luger round with one hand, its way to powerful for one handed.
PT111 is one of my every day conceal carries alternating between this and the SW SD9VE, SW M&P 2.0 and the Taurus PT140 and I tend to carry the Taurus PT111 more than the others
Three years ago, I bought a P T 140 on sale. I already had a nine mm, and I was wanting to try the 40 cal. out.The first time I fired the gun the trigger safety broke off, I sent it back to the company, and they fixed the gun, and paid postage, both ways. The gun was returned, in less than a week. After about 500 rounds was shot through the gun, the barrel was very hard to remove. It seemed, as if the barrel had swelled, I checked around, and others, were having the same problem, with both caliber guns. The gun was very dependable, and I put thousands of rounds through it. I understand the G2C has a solid safety triggrer, where the old ones were hollow. I don't know about the barrels being hard to remove, but I am interested in buying a G2C in 9 mm. For the money, I believe it is worth the money.
I have the PT-111 Millennium. It's my IWB carry in the cooler months and my new LCP Max is my pocket carry in the hotter months. This line of Taurus guns cannot be beat.
great vid and good observation about the trigger @ 16:05 . never seen this "feature" before with a striker fire, so still trying to work thru whether or not this is/could be a safety issue, but at first glance i like this! when doing dry fire practice, no more having to rack the slide manually after each trigger press. also builds better muscle memory and when using this in conjunction with some of the LASER based computer simulators, makes for a more enjoyable practice session.
You beat me to it KSGG. I just dropped my G2C video and surprisingly, we had a lot of the same perspectives! Admittedly, I have not had a chance to get mine to the range yet. However, right out of the box, I am fairly impressed.
Great to see the great reviews on this firearm! Just grabbed one from Academy Sports for $179.00 for their Black Friday promo and looking forward to taking it to the range.
I like this little pistol my nephew has one and he was gonna take it down and put a bullet thru his hand ,he is ok and a good bit wiser and it was no fault of the firearm like I told him never assume always check and be sure your firearm is unloaded before you dis assemble it .thankfully no one else was injured and he has learned a lesson that he will never forget I told him I was gonna check his head space and timing .but I couldn't find a gauge for his big head lol
I have quite a few Taurus pistols and even some Rossi/Taurus revolvers and I have no complaints at all. I have a Judge Public Defender Ultra Lite, and it rides my night stand with .45 Cal medicine at the ready. Just got a new Mill. PT111 G2 and I really appreciate your video on this . It will be my EDC replacing my K40 Elite, which is just too heavy. I can acquire the target after shooting the .40 cal but I like the 12 +1 of the Taurus. I have the PT840 which is a jewel and accurate beyond belief. I am a Taurus fan; the haters will not be quelled, just learn for yourselves how wonderful these Taurus pistols and revolvers are.
As a budget firearm, especially fish the money, it’s actually an additional safety for a long take up. Especially as a CC, you wanna discharge when you mean to. And the reset is a positive if you find yourself in a multiple discharge position.
picked one up a few days ago, not bad at all. put 100 rounds , only issue was the loaded indicator that comes up, when rapid firing it blew out and up, was still in the slide with the pin, took it out, left it out, another 50 rounds, not one problem after that.for the price and able too be an EDC, very happy. thanks for the review and keep up the great work.
After owning 1 yr. now there is only 2 things so far I can comment on cause I have not had too much range time being busy with life. I have only shot my reloads and 3 times I got light primer strikes. Pulling trigger again shot all three of them. Probably my fault reloading the rounds. The only other thing is my big hand needs a wider grip and I can really tell when I shoot my full size SIG with it at range. LOVE THE GUN. I decided to stay factory for another couple hundred rounds and tear it down to see if internal wears in evenly and where the slide rides. I want to see how metal hardness of parts look and hold out.
Shot 50 rounds to test, seems better using my reloads so far! I did notice some of brass have deeper primer pockets which i think was contributing to light strikes as well as dirty powder shooting residue from shooting.
I bought the G2C last month for my CCW. After searching websites for a holster I decided to order the Alien Gear Holster Shape. shift kit. Both decision were right on. I like the thumb safety. When loading the magazine, it is a little hard on the fingers. To save them, I just purchased the ETS speed loader. I will try it out next week.
When the G-2-C came out, I purchased one just because I liked the fit and price range. I didn't need another subcompact 9m.m. but it was attractive to me. After taking it to the range, I fell in love with this little weapon. . .
Taurus G2c is the only gun you'll ever need, it truly is a masterpiece.💯 #Masterpiece
It's one of the best in It's class, but a masterpiece is definitely stretching it.
@@scottfennell6568 you'll have to spend a lot of money to find a better one. For this price everybody can own a masterpiece.💯

Well said Dustin! Thank you and cheers!
@@KSGunGuy01 If you're used to da revolvers and/or dao pistols, the trigger is no problem at all.
@Suicide Kyd Is that all ya' got? ;)
I love my G2C. After shooting it. You wouldn’t know it’s only a 230.00 pistol. Mine has a stainless slide
I have the same exact one that he's showing in this video The Grey and I paid 200 for it but I'm going to wind up getting the one with us stainless slide.. I absolutely love this gun
looks like a great little gun with just the matte black. stainless is a nice option too i love both looks
3000 rounds on mine with zero malfunctions. 2500 perfect rounds through my previous PT709 Slim.
Wow that many rounds & no malfunctions.i own a smith & wesson m&p shield.9mm.but looking at this side arm i actuly think it looks pretty sweet.i like taurus & am thinking of buying one just to have one.
I have 1700 rounds through mine 0 malfunctions my wife has 500 rounds through hers zero malfunctions
I got about 1,200 rds through my 24/7 9mm g2c. Tuaras makes good guns.
I carry the g2c and lots of range time. Great Firearm
That’s awesome! Love hearing the positive feedback. Thanks you and cheers!
Hey ba!
Great gun for the price, no issues with mine edc
Just bought my G2C and love it, my every day carry.
Don’t think I trust a budget gun for EDC. Is your life worth more than a few hundred bucks ???
You know I really liked my PT111G2. This is an improvement over that. I think I most people would take their Taurus blinders off, they would find this to be a good gun to recommend.
Well said InSight! So far, I have been really impressed and it’s a lessen learned indeed. Thank you and cheers!
It's one of the best selling guns today. Taurus has earned it's reputation. I've seen a 24/7 blow up
I shot one of these the other day for the first time and was like...this is a taurus? Lord have mercy they've upped their game
The G2C, for the most part, is the same as the G2. The main, and best difference, is the lack of that locking system in the slide. They ditched it completely on the G2C. The little things are the roll marks on the slide and the grip texture is a little more aggressive than the G2.
I really don't notice much difference between the two. That being said they're both great guns!
I hate how they always say “for the money” or for a “budget firearm” and then they side by sides and it beats gun 3x the price.
I agree, I have this gun and it shoots like a big dog!! Loud as hell too!!
Have had mine for about a year...slide was not returning forward completely at first. Took it apart cleaned and lubricated the rails, fires flawlessly now. I noticed when I first took it apart it was dirty and pretty dry..love this gun
Yep. There's always a qualifier if it's an affordable weapon that works the way it's supposed to.
Compared to Sig Sauer, it most definitely is way more affordable. If you get your panties in a twist with someone pointing that out, that is your own personsal issue. Not sure what else to tell you, cupcake.
It doesn't beat them, it keeps up with them.
Can't pass that up even for carry for my wife!
p trax Does it fire fast with short trigger resets? It looks like it can be cycled very fast on videos.
Yes, very fast. The reset position becomes reflex. And the recoil absorbs well with the springs, weight, and balance. Taurus did their homework with this pistol.
Well said. It’s a great gun indeed. Thank you and cheers!
Paid 219.00 for my bi-tone and it's a keeper. No issues at all and its very fun to shoot. Very easy to carry.
That’s awesome and a a great price! Thank you and cheers!
Picked up my G2C a couple weeks ago for $180 after $25 rebate from Taurus. 200 rounds in with no malfunctions. Loving this pistol for the price!!
That’s awesome! Thank you and cheers!
I was gonna buy another Glock or mp to keep in my glove box full time but I ended up buying two of these instead one for the car and one to keep hidden in my living room in case I couldn't get to the ones in my bed room
My brother gave me some grief and talked about how how o had one failure to ejects out of 500 rounds (note that it was near the very end of that run and probably was something with the round itself) and I'm like dude...when the hell do you expect me to get in a 500 round fire fight with a rinky dink handgun ? Better yet when do you expect me to NOT have a clean and oiled carry option?
@Apple Lysol, mine requires that you hold in the bottom of the magazine, it moves a quarter inch up, then it will cycle rounds.
I keep it in memoriam to never buy Pro Mag products.
Great video, I was sold on this gun before I ever got it and you reinforced my decision. Thanks, Keep up the good work. Pacchetti out.
Finally got to hold one of these today in my local gun store. Got to say I was impressed. If I didn’t already own a subcompact 9mm (Glock 43) I’d pick up a G2C
That's awesome James! For the price, they are pretty darn good. Thank you and cheers!
18 round sig p226 MEC GAR magazines work in this gun and hold the slide open on the last round.
Would it work in the 24/7 g2c 9mm
20 rounders actually
I picked up an old school 15rd 226 magazine and I works good too

Pretty much have them all, the g2 is up there with the best of my collection . Love the size and capacity, it's a good gun for any price.
Well said Mike! It definitely is a good gun at any price. Thank you and cheers!
Exactly if it said Sig on the side or Glock people would happily pay six hundred bucks for this thing and it would be worth it
I got my G2c about 3 months ago and have about 300 rounds through it so far. I love the gun. Fits my hand well and is reliable; no jams or undo stoppages. Would recomend to anyone looking for a smaller gun on a budget; a tick over $200 new in the box.
Yes, the magazine release can be switched to the right side for us lefties.
I bought one in2023 for $239 it’s a great gun, came with 3 12 round magazines
I had 2 PT111 never had a problem with either. Great review.
Great to hear the positive feedback! Thank you and cheers Amir!
One of my friends (a new shooter) recently bought a PT111 G2 new for $207.00 + tax. The salesman was trying to talk him out of it, but I talked him into it. Good purchase.
Nice work man. I love mine. Great gun for the money. I paid 169 shipped
That’s awesome! Sounds like a great deal. Thank you and cheers!
Mark Sweetser + for that kinda money ya coulda got a Hi Point!
J Logan + yep
Good to know about the Lakeline sights! Thank you for sharing and cheers!
That’s awesome! Thank you and cheers!
Check out Keep Tinkering RUclips channel.
He has several trigger options to choose from.
I did and got AMAZING results!!!
im a newbie too and looking at this one as a potential ccp option down the road after i get more experience. i just purchd a Taurus PT92 alum frame stainless slide with wood grip upgrades its a blingy beast to say the least. so happy with it so far. if u see this update me on ur g2c
I sand my Glocks trigger down very lightly to round it off not really sand it down. the stock trigger and blade is awful on my gen3 17 but it's my carry so I'm not going to change any significant parts out.
For the price it can't be beat
I agree! Thank you and cheers!
We love this gun and have yet to find a gun of its size that has over taken it in over all value.....
Your vids were the incentive for me to pick this up! It really has been impressive so far. Thank you and cheers!
Its and outstanding reliable conceal carry firearm. Taurus has redeemed themselves with the PT111/ G2C

That's awesome Tim! Always good to hear success stories and it seems these guns have a lot of fans. Thank you and cheers!
hey $200, 12+1 second strike capability, the right size and takes all kinds of ammo. I would love an aftermarket trigger but it is a good gun.
Well said! Thank you and cheers!
Your welcome! Pull the trigger on it now (HA, HA) for $20 introductory offer now cause it is back to $25 soon they say.
@@francisdrake8742 It is quite a bit of disassembly work to change it out, but install videos are good to follow. Only have to do it once. Should be a very noticeable change they say...20% difference I think. Good Luck, waiting for my new G2C to arrive next week.

I have found that my 18 round canik mags also work with my PT-111.
Great to know! Thank you and cheers!
Aren't those mags made by Mec-Gar?If so,that's an even better deal.
If sig226 mags work in the taurus g2c would the 226 mags work on the canik?
Funny I never thought to try my Canik mags in my G2C. But yes they do fit and feed. They don't lock back on empty and they don't drop free. So not perfect but usable.
I noticed the same thing. Bonus
I've had the G2 for several years & it is a great truck gun as others have said. Mine has been very reliable; mags are reasonable & easy to find. There are a few nice aftermarket upgrades available which says a lot. To me it is a double stack Shield which is my EDC. Very good review!
That’s awesome JR! I agree and it’s been very impressive so far. Thank you and cheers!
Excellent review KS!! For the money you won't find a better brand new gun period. The G2C is my Truck gun, cuz if it gets stolen or confiscated.. only out $200! Thanks again and God bless!!👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I 100% agree Fresh. It continues to impress me and it’s really tough to beat for the price. Thank you as always and cheers!
Cheers
@@KSGunGuy01, true, good call.
You should upgrade to the g2c the trigger is way better especially after you break it in
Just bought one yesterday just waiting on BG screen it will be my first handgun can’t wait to take it to the range I paid $276 after tax
Stephen Welch ..
I use blazer brass in mine and not had a a problem.
Also, Winchester white box works good. And I can get the Winchester at walmart.
Federal premium is really good too. Although I prefer blazer brass. Sometimes I’ll get a box of both and go to the range. Not one failure yet. 200 rounds in
I've got 2 of the PT111s and have nothing but awesome things to say about them. This video will be one of your most watched video's mark my words.

That’s awesome and I agree! Thank you and cheers!

Your welcome KS. Enjoy your channel, keep up the good work!!😋
That means a ton Dj! Thank you again!
My first firearm purchase, sitting at my FFL right now only me would have a gun arrive friday before a 3 day weekend. Tack an extra day wait on!
I don’t get winks when I buy my fingernail polish. I need to step up my game. I have Gen 5 G19, P365 for edc and now I think I found my truck gun. 💗
Haha!! The G2C would be a spot on truck gun indeed. Been thinking of revisiting the G19 Gen 5 and just may pull the trigger on it. They are excellent guns. Thank you and cheers!
LOL
The striker guide is a must, trigger pull will be extra silky,Very smooth.
I have heard this firearm is a good budget gun!
So far, it definitely is Keith! Thank you and cheers!
Keith Gregory I own 2 and the single stack g2s I love mine
Not Just a Budget Gun It's A Good Gun Period !!!

Thank you very much! The G2C is a worthy option for sure. Cheers!
"And then it does have a small accessory rail for lights, lasers, chainsaws, that sort of thing."
Yes, that was said. Thank you and cheers!
Anton Thorn got my G2C chainsaw on order.
Just bought one not to long ago and mine has a lifetime warranty
Get over it, Its still a very good gun for the price
Very good points and thank you for sharing! Thank you and cheers!
Glock is like the iPhone of the gun world.
Every new gen is almost the exact same thing as before and they rely on the legacy of years ago and brand loyalty.
When the gen 5 came out I looked at it I looked t it's price and I'm like...hmm I can buy a MUCH better hk sig etc for this price or I can see less money and get roughly the same gun out of a sw or Springfield
Glock is getting into dangerous waters where it's not going to be high quality enough to merrit its cost compared to other options in that price range
But it's going to be too expensive when compared to the guns of similar ergo and out of the box options that are hundred of dollars cheaper
Yes they are reliable but how often do you find yourself in a situation where you're going to shoot 1000 rounds without cleaning or oiling your gun? How often are you going to dunk your gun into a mud puddle and have to shoot?
How often are you gonna drop 500 bucks on a gun that you then need to drop more money in after market parts to make it's erognomics or aesthetics match the next cheaper option?
Much like iPhone people are waking up realizing just bc it says Glock and costs $600 doesn't mean it's automatically the best
I’m convinced to buy this,cAn’t beat the price. I want a reliable gun to shoot at the range and every day carry. Great vid.
That's awesome! Thank you and cheers!
Hoping not to hear any reports with the G2C like there was with the P365.
I completely agree Mike! Thank you and cheers!
Oh Yeah! Bought a Walther PPQ Q5 Match today!
Congrats C! It’s a great gun indeed. Thank you and cheers brother!
That’s awesome! Thank you and cheers!
Right on Robert! Thank you and cheers brother!
KSGunGuy ...thx for all do KS. Love the channel!
Got one, love it. This gun loves the Lee 95 gr rnd/flat tip.(for you bullet casters out there). Fits right in a back brace. Shoots great groups!! Go get one
I absolutely love my TAURUS G2C. That is a ridiculously sharp looking holster. - Marco
Bought 2, one for me one for the wife. Mine eventually got stolen and I had to buy another. Great guns.
You nailed it! A lot of take-up, not really a long trigger pull like some have said. It's light until you get to the seer and then bang! Love mine!!
Very impressive trigger out of the box for sure my friend! Thank you and cheers!
That’s awesome! Thank you and cheers!
That's awesome! Thank you and cheers!
They made vast improvements with the G2C. Seems people are having great luck with them. Thank you and cheers!
I plan on getting one for my first gun when I move to AZ in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait!
I have the PT-111 Millennium. It's my IWB carry in the cooler months and my new LCP Max is my pocket carry in the hotter months. This line of Taurus guns cannot be beat.
Had a gift card for Cabela's ended up only spend $170 after my gift card for this little banger. Can't wait to pick it up!!!!
I sent my PT106s in to be exchange for the G2C. I think I did good, definitely an upgrade. Taurus really stands behind their products.
great vid and good observation about the trigger @ 16:05 . never seen this "feature" before with a striker fire, so still trying to work thru whether or not this is/could be a safety issue, but at first glance i like this! when doing dry fire practice, no more having to rack the slide manually after each trigger press. also builds better muscle memory and when using this in conjunction with some of the LASER based computer simulators, makes for a more enjoyable practice session.
Very good points! Thank you and cheers!
You beat me to it KSGG. I just dropped my G2C video and surprisingly, we had a lot of the same perspectives! Admittedly, I have not had a chance to get mine to the range yet. However, right out of the box, I am fairly impressed.
It was a great vid brother! I agree, we shared very similar views. Can’t wait to hear your shooting impressions! Thank you and cheers brother!
Great to see the great reviews on this firearm! Just grabbed one from Academy Sports for $179.00 for their Black Friday promo and looking forward to taking it to the range.
Thank you very much! Congrats on the grab brother. Cheers!
The rules of safety are written in another person's blood. Glad he nor anyone else got hurt worse.
That’s awesome! Glad to hear some real world feedback. Thank you and cheers!
That's awesome! Glad you worked out the loaded indicator issue. Thank you and cheers!
Just upgraded firing pin bushing to S.S., S.S. guide rod and new trigger springs from lakelinellc.
That’s awesome! I think the speed loader will help. Thank you and cheers!
