I've got both. Got the SCCY first and enjoyed it until I tried the Tarus; laid it down and the Tarus has been my edc every since. Love the accuracy of the Tarus and the trigger pull.
My first handgun was the G2C............I got the CPX-1 a couple months later and decided that I'd rather sell NIB than waste my time taking it to the range and have to deal w/that trigger.
My G2C works 100% with all of my Sig P226 magazines so it gets my vote. They even lock the slide back on empty. It makes for a nice higher capacity option with the available 15, 18 and 20 round Sig mags.
Ran across your video when I was looking for a comparison of these two pistols for my wife. Very nicely done without any preconceived notions it seems like. I realize Taurus seems to have had issues in the past as well as the SCCY but it seems both companies have worked those issues out and have produced a couple of winners. Thanks for your review.
Appreciate the comment. I always try to be balanced and open minded with reviews and comparisons. Obviously, I will often have biases or favorites, but I try to focus on objective elements. Best of luck with your decision.
@@JustinOpinionChannel awesome review. I ended up ordering a sccy cpx2rd and then next day ordered the g2c. Then I found your review, excellent choices it seems.
I own a sccy I've everyday carried for 2 years, and spent many hours and countless rounds at the the rounds, with only 1 issue that was a broken, magazine retention spring, I called sccy customer service on sunday I got to talk to a human, they emailed me a FedEx shipping label I mailed the weapon out Tuesday received my repaired pistol back on Saturday, agreed the sccy has a long heavy trigger, and I have spent many hours with snap caps getting used to it, once I've gotten it down that little pistol, fires consistent groups time and time again keep in mind I have my personal firing range and shooting is my hobby, I own many firearms, s&w colt, and Taurus g2 I personally choose the sccy for self defense the g2 is rather uncomfortable for everyday carry which I did carry it for a year, with a quality horse hide iwb holster, for me the sccy is way more comfortable smoother not as blocky not as heavy, after thousands of rounds of ammo I never got used to the taurus trigger, I do however completely agree that the grip is easier on the Taurus however I found follow up shots to be smoother with the sccy partly because recoil, grip and trigger doesnt seem to work as well together on the Taurus
The G2 is one of those things you buy at least 2 of. ANY gun that works that well, carries, and comes at $200 you get more than one even if you dont like it. Never know...may be a day you need the extra or it's an extra to help a family member or friend who doesn't have one in a shtf situation or natural catastrophe. I have the G2 and the G2c 9mm. Love them both. Prob get one more.
Like the G2C. Bought 3, me, son, and son-in-law. Ammo is cheap in 9mm platform and it eats all brands with no malfunction. I have fed 500 rounds before I cleaned so it doesn’t mind getting dirty.
I agree with KS! I actually had a sccy cpx-2 once upon a time, it ran flawlessly and was a decent defense weapon, but I ended up gifting it to my dad for a Father's Day present
Yep!!! I loved my SCCY too... Till after the "break in" period and the MF's kept coming, Till the Trigger would MF and sometimes double fire after it froze, till Sccy took it back, till I got it back, till then they sent me free baseplates, till I gave it away!!! PS: Their Customer Service is the BEST,,, Tied with Hi Point!!! But I've never had any Issues w/ my Hi Point!!! I had a slightly bent firing pin after countless rounds of Dry fire and ~ 1000 (no bs!!! I have only 1 45 acp) I discovered after my 2nd cleaning with steel , cheap brass etc and Hi point sent me a free firing pin and 2 free mags free in 2 days!!! No problems since!!!
I've had both. My G2 got stolen, and I'll probably never see it again. Planning on buying a G3, and still have and love my Sccy 2! Good review, thanks!
I have two G2C's and after replacing the triggers and sending one back for a less than quality repair job, I had to take it apart and file down and polish the edges on several parts along with the feed ramps to get it working correctly. One trigger is a SAO and the other is a SA/DA with restrike capability and they make all the difference in the comfort and shootability of the pistol, and were well worth the 30 bucks. If you wanted to you could just disassemble to the trigger assembly and knock out the pin holding the blade safety and remove it and retain the stock trigger. The gun already has an internal firing pin safety in case it is dropped and a manual external safety so the trigger blade safety is a bit unnecessary and only creates a hitch and stick in the trigger pull and can pinch a bit as well. Both of my G2C's function flawlessly now and the first one has about 4,500 rounds through it and is not showing any unusual signs of wear. I keep them clean and lubed, and they're holding up quite well, are not ammo sensitive, and are accurate and dependable.
@@richardkrueger9097 Wish I could believe that. So many times in my life I have seen where a company advertises "Under New Management" and changes their name because they ran the old one into the ground. Smith & Wesson just built a new plant in Maryville, TN as they're moving out of Massachusetts where they were founded because of strict gun laws in that state. There is a high probability that many of their top gunsmiths and employees other than the Management team wouldn't be willing to pack up their families and move to Maryville, so they'll be hiring a lot of new folks, but also losing a lot of their core experience and expertise. Maybe Taurus is doing a better job now in GA, but I am not sucker enough to try a third time to buy something of theirs. Be very cautious of all of the reviews you read online from the "professional" reviewers, as they get their test and evaluation guns supplied to them and you can bet the farm that those T&E guns have been gone through completely and tweaked to perform well to garner good reviews which drive sales. I'd rather buy a T&E gun that works well than take my chances on a random new one off the shelf. Taurus may talk up quality, but they still have one of the highest rates of returned guns sent back for repair in the industry. Just too many other options out there.
Man this was a great review! I have both of these guns and this review really nailed it for me. Thanks for taking the time out to make this video. Happy shooting brother 👍🏽💪🏽
I agree. The same advantages as a revolver, DAO trigger for safety, re-strike ability, but with twice the capacity and in a slimmer, no snag package. I plan to pocket carry it in a holster when I get my CC permit.
I like the looks of the SCCY a lot better. Plus I hear the support of SCCY is a whole lot better. Although close the CPX is a tad smaller. I would like to have both, but I'm going with the SCCY. It will be my backup to my Walther.
i own both the both really good remote hole punches for the money my g2c is a bit picker about what it eats the triggers are as different as nite and day but the sccy cpx-2 is my go to i would get the one the feels the best to you
👍🏻Good video review. I went with the G2c. I've been using it for a while now and have adapted to it. Shoots great with no issues. I like the rubber hogue grip. Fits my my hand better with no slip. I also blacked out my rear sight dots, helps me focus on the front sight. I carry it in a Don Hume belt holster or my gun vest.
For the folks with bigger hands, I can definitely give a 👍 to the Hogue grips. However, those of us with the smaller hands find the grips have an almost custom feel. That feel was one of the deciding factors that led to my purchase of the PT111 G2, followed by the G2C.
I have both and love both. My wife can grip the Taurus G2C better than the SCCY so that one stays home with her. I did do the MCarbo trigger spring kit on the SCCY and that reduces the trigger pull down to ~5lbs. Well worth the $20 for the kit.
A correction: the Taurus G2C is NOT double action or double action only. It is a striker fired, single action with second strike capability. Or single action/"double action" (second strike).
Hello from Ouray, CO!! Great video!! Thank you for sharing your experiences and observations!! I was just visiting my parents in the Shenandoah Valley of VA a couple of weeks ago. My dad has a G3C that he keeps next to his lounge chair in the living room, where he also sleeps due to a bad back. He took me out to shoot it; and I loved it!! So, I ordered one!! I love the price of these 2 models!! They are affordable to have a couple of extras placed in various places around the house or cars. I think I will go ahead and get a SCCY and try it out. I saw in our local Sportsman's Warehouse they are like $180! If I don't like it, I will expand my stock with a few more G3Cs!
Start reloading. You don’t need a progressive just a simple single press. They are easily found on Marketplace and similar for a great price. Once fired cases you can get by the 500 batch from online and primers are readily available these days for a change. Lead bullets are fairly cheap bulk or simply cast your own as I do and powder coat in a yard sale toaster oven. There’s not really much to it all especially for handgun rounds.👍🏻
@@hotrodray6802 its not lifetime if its only for original purchasers, lol, the warranty follows the guns life for sccy, no matter who owns it, it transfers to them
@@ubermench1000 Most striker fired pistols are closer to SAO, right? Most do not use the trigger to cock if a round doesn't go off, so you have to rack the slide. The Taurus has one single action trigger pull after racking the slide, and if you have a round not go off, it has a much longer double action pull, as he demonstrates. That is why the "dead" trigger feel he talks about happens too. The "dead" part is only dead in single action mode, after racking the slide, but it is a pull the whole way to use the double action function
@@benhovey7252 That's exactly right, it's not even possible to use the G2C in Double Action, unless a light primer strike or dud round happens. It's always a light 4lb trigger, Single Action. The motion of placing a round in the chamber forces Single Action, with no possibility of decocking the striker.
What I have noticed on my g2c. If you move your finger in more where the trigger safety rests in the joint of your finger, it will partially not release that trigger safety. Sometimes you get a harder pull and a click from a partial catch.
I've been carrying the SCCY CPX2 for a few years now. So light in the Armalaser holster that I sometimes forget I'm wearing it. Just got the new slide from SCCY that incorporates a Riton MPRD-2 micro-mini red dot sight. The Riton shakes "on" and looks great. The kit also came with a new hammer and spring combo that made the action much smoother. From the rear of the action, you can see the hammer coming back to breakover point. I took a little of the Wife's red nail polish and painted the tip of the hammer. In target shooting, I can now see exactly when I'm at the break over point. I had to cut a slot in the holster to accept the Riton sight. With a bit of care, a razor knife and a black sharpy, it looks factory fresh.
I have a PT111 G2 with well over 1000 rounds and not one single failure of any kind. The SCCY is intriguing, but I’m inclined to stick with something that’s worked so well for me so far.
@@nicholasemerson9852 It's reliable, packed with goodies and all in a cheap package. Probably best gun for the money period. Not going to say it competes with 1-2k guns, but they've left a big impact on the market.
@@ruthlessrubberducky5729 you're prob right. For the money its a good deal. And def has made a big impact, I won't deny that. But compared to my cz's, sigs, glock, h&k, its just average. It was good enough for me to buy but it just wasn't a keeper for me. Its just my opinion. Now I will say ill take the tx22 over a glock 44 any day and I'm excited to see what Taurus has in store for the future. Theyre definitely headed in the right direction.
Depends what your goal is. The Taurus is the better range gun. However the Sccy is more concealable and in my opinion the heavier DAO trigger without a safety is better for concealed carry, especially pocket carry.
I own a G2C and love it. I have also owned a Sccy CPX1. Hated it. Heavy trigger pull and heavy recoil. It was actually hurting my wrist, shooting it. I have 6 ,9mm and shoot them all the time with no hand issues. My G2C is one of my favorite EDC. Pluse the S&W MP shield.
They are both awesome guns I prefer the SCCY even tho I'm a Taurus fanboy and own 4 hahahaha look for the Carrie department the SCCY one me over and it was more reliable for me.

Light out of Darkness how’s the dao trigger ? I still really want to buy one, because I love my PT-111, but I’m worried how different the triggers may be. Any input?
I did a review on my channel also. You're welcome to check it out. The trigger isn't as bad as people say it is. Yes, you will have to adjust your trigger finger placement to compensate for the longer pull but after getting familiar with it I can honestly say it isn't bad at all considering what you pay for it.
@@brandonstroud5148 Its not a DAO trigger on the G2c. Its a single action when the slide cycles. It only goes double action if the slide does not cycle. The trigger is long (no resistance) with a short reset in single action.
So many comments are wrong against the SCCY it's perfect with the long trigger pull if you like to shoot revolvers as well, excellent training tool .. Hammer v striker. Totally different guns ... Own both , no complaints
The nice thing about the Sccy Cpx line is that most of them come with a red dot built on top now for super cheap. Great budget red dot gun that works just fine.
U forgot to mention the Taurus g2c has a rail for laser or flashlight. I put different sights and had my trigger changed out on my Taurus g2c it was a very good gun but now it's a great gun.over 3000 rounds through it and no malfunctions what so ever.i also have the Taurus g3. Both excellent guns.
What trigger did you switch to? I put the 4lb spring kit in my cpx2 but I'd like to have it a bit lighter. I'm waiting for the g2c to go on sale at my work to get one.
I had the keltec p11 for years sold it for the g2c..and got the ec9s after the g2c ... g2c got stolen last November 19 got G3 in December sold ec9s yesterday to go back to the g2c...
@@allenmckinney9533 The G2C is 4lb in Single Action, the restrike "Double Action" is the one he measured in the video.. Then he kept calling it a Double Action Only.
I have both of these. Well actually I bought the Taurus for my wife and I got the sccy for myself. However I prefer the sccy over the Taurus but both are Nice guns. If I had to choose just one of my handguns it would be my 1911 45acp hands down all day.
The Sccy is a better option for self defense carry. People are going to hate on it since it's a newer brand and it's very cheap. The Sccy has been on the up in aggrivated crimes lately due to the price. People shoot and kill and just toss it because it didn't cost anything and is more reliable than the Hi Point C9. Their warranty is amazing and customer service is on par. Honestly tho it's probably because from the factory these pistols have so many issues and Sccy has to stand behind fixing them. The long trigger pull has plus that it's very safe especially for nervous first time carriers who think they're gonna blow a hole in their hip thigh or groin. The downfall of the Sccy as a carry is the trigger. You're right that it is very smooth but the long pull and reset really hurts the defensive situation scenario. If I'm in a defensive situation I want to stop my target as quickly as possible and with that trigger rapid fire and aiming really gets hurt by this. If you want a very accurate shot you have to pull the Sccy trigger slow and steady. I've never been in a defensive situation yet which I thank God for everyday but if I ever am I'm sure I'm not going to be as calm and collective as I am at the range. That being said the Sccy is a better carry option in my opinion. Also the gun has alot of very nice quality parts especially the rail for at the price point. I've been carrying it since last March and its very easy to conceal lightweight and safe with the DAO. I'm going to upgrade soon and use it as a backup in the glovebox. Great review on both tho. The only thing I would say is you were wrong about the Taurus trigger as it is single action. Also Taurus' rust very easy which is annoying to any owner.
Justin Opinion...... Thanks for another great video. I own the G2C and LOVE it. It is very reliable, and easy to conceal carry using the Alien Gear Holster ShapeShift kit.
I got a sccy cpx 2 9mm. I like it!! For the price 199.00. It kills just the same as a high end brand gun. I just hate the victim to know, that for less then 200 he dead. I just didnt put alot of money in him. Lol !! He, he, he, he.
Thats dumb as fuck 2 say . The victim implies the person maybe innocent. Perpetrator sounds better for a person that's not out starting shit hoping t. Kill somebody
Well done. Grip width on the Sccy resulted in mine going to a new home. I found the long trigger reach, the harsh trigger pull and grip width combined to make it the least pleasurable handgun I'd owned. But it shot fairly accurately, and carried well. I've been tempted to give it another try, but I have others I own to fill the niche (Glock 43, Walther PPS) albeit in single stack form. Good comparison, sound conclusion.
Interesting that you voted that way, since .40 seems important enough to you to pick it as a name. The SCCY isn't available in .40, but the Taurus is. Nice to be able to share ammunition between your own firearms.
I have paid more for shipping my CPX2 in for repairs than I paid for the gun. Oh yeah, they do not pay for inbound shipping. Check their website if you don't believe it.
G2C for me..all day long. I have many Guns far more expensive but honestly, this Gun shoots and runs perfectly. More than I can say for some of the others I paid far more for. I have been told that it is the best seller at my Gun Shop and it's reliability is fantastic. I have heard about lot's of problems with the SCCY but not the G2C. And the fact that the man who made this video had to send his back for repairs is not exactly the best endorsement for the reliability of the SCCY. It may have a good guarantee for repairs but if my life is on the line and it fails to go bang..I may not live long enough to take advantage of that guarantee.
At the weight they are, with the flush fit mag, the sccy basically is a 10+1 pocket pistol, and is actually lighter than the hellcat, and sig p365.the trigger is long and heavy but that is for a reason ,it is very smooth and can be mastered easily with a little practice. The gun is basically idiot proof. If you need to arm a person in an emergency situation, who has little to no experience with firearms, this gun is a simple as a hammerless dao snubnose revolver. And their customer service is absolutely the best. I've used them 3 times, two of them were my fault as I had overstretched the hammer spring trying to lighten the trigger a bit.the first time it was to have the frame pins replaced with the newer larger ones as the originals would start to work their way out after firing a mag or 3.But never have I had either of the 3 Sccys I have owned (still have two)fail to fire or jam on me at all.Probaly have at least 500 rnds thru each.
Good review. My G2C in chrome, IWB Clinger holster at four o'clock. Stainless rod. Over 500 rounds, no issues. Feed ramp highly polished too. Nice grouping! Thanks. Slide release is stiff but doable. Like the safety. One in the chamber, 13 rounds, safe on.
I own both these guns the sccy has been very unreliable compared to the g2c . the frame pins steady walk out after around 50 rounds and I have a lot of failures to go fully into battery with the sccy. The g2c has been 100% so far
The SCCY is an easy fix you could do yourself. Second option is send it back for repair and you will have it back in less than a week and it will be 100%
@@barefootbob1269 I don't own a SCCY and love my G2, but SCCY deserves full credit for their great customer service reputation backing their product 100%
I know of Taurus past quality issues, service, etc... My 4 previous Taurus were all good depenable guns that I enjoy and still have. Then came the G2C. I was very looking forward to this gun. Well, first mag I had feed jams. after 3 trips to the range with different ammo and cleaning, inspecting anything I could thing of and from RUclips I ginally had to say I had a lemon. Contacted Customer Service and my bad experience then went into warp drive. Four months dealing with Taurus customer service to finally get the gun back with brief note of fired 24 rounds with no issues. Back to the range and damn if it did not misfeed/jam on the 7th round. I sold that thing with full disclosure as to the whole sad story. I purchased the SCCY CPX-2 for significantly less and have had no issues. I like the feel and the trigger much better. Well satisfied with this as my new CW of choice.
@David Reed As I said, I have 4 other Taurus handguns for several years and all 4 are fine gungs. No issues with them at all. That was one reason that was excited to get the G2C. I can understand that you can have a problem with a gun on occasion. My beef is with the total lack of help or concern from Taurus customer service. I really wanted my G2C to be what many have said it was, but it never got a fair chance because customer service failed so miserably. I was not going to keep a firearm that had dependability issues. The SCCY has given me what I expected from the G2C. Glad yours have worked well for you and your wife. just wish mine had done the same or more to the point, that Taurus customer service had stepped up and backed their product .
I ended up getting both of these guns. Sccy rear sight will pop off sometimes. Atleast after 300 rounds I’ve found. And the G2C has some magazine issues from time to time. Overall though. I’m going with G2C
I had the SCCY CPX2 with the factory installed crimson trace and one thing about that gun is that you get a better trigger feel, the faster you pull it idk it's hard to explain. Other than the trigger, it is an overall Solid CCW option at a fantastic price point. I now have a Taurus G3C that I equipped with a small Streamlight model TLR-6 light. I definitely prefer the Taurus G2c or G3c over the SCCY because i feel like the Taurus has a little better trigger, a shorter reset, and better Accuracy overall.
This morning I went in to the gun shop leaning towards the SCCY... all American too..... BUT.... the SCCY grip was a touch too wide for my average size hands. (Wide butt to trigger). I walked out with a G2C.
I actually own both and both have been Flawless over the past year or so.... For concealed carry I actually prefer the Sccy because I feel safer carrying something with a long double action trigger pull and do not care for guns with a manual safety.
Everytime I see a video comparing a taurus g2c or newer model 9mm to basically anything it warms my heart because I grew up with Smith and Wesson, walther, glock, sig sauer, ruger, hipoint, amd everything in between and cheap to expensive there was always a clear reason to spend the extra but my taurus g3 so far I feel like outdoes any brand or caliber handgun I've ever owned in nearly every way possible when it comes to important things someone would consider besides size and weight
One thing you didn't mention that is a consideration is the method of takedown for each gun. The G2c has a Glock-style captive takedown lever. You pull the lever down on both sides (after pulling the trigger as is necessary for most striker-fired pistols) as you let the slide move forward and it will disengage from the rails. The SCCY has a removable tab that you must use a tool or the rim of a cartridge to remove while the slide is locked back before you can let the slide come forward. I would be concerned that there is a chance that you may lose the pin, rendering the pistol inoperative until a replacement is found. Another consideration for the G2c is that it has a rail, albeit a short one. This increases the options for a gun mounted laser sight or flashlight. With the SCCY, the only lasers available have to be trigger guard mounted, which limits your choices in lasers.
@@SlickAstley_TV it's either a pin or be retarded like glock with their stupid dual push up plastic switches. It's a blowback pistol that requires heft. You should design your own pistol before criticizing
I thought I would never buy a Tuarus but I bought this one and I love it! Got it for180 dollars. I decided to carry in my truck instead of my 19 in case someone breaks into the truck and robs me. At that price what the hell right?
Please don’t leave your gun in your truck no matter how cheap it was. I live in west Phoenix Arizona where almost everyone has guns there’s a group of teenagers probably addicted to pills that started going around my neighborhood breaking into cars on the street 1st just checking for unlocked cars then breaking into cars then within a month they got 2 guns out of 2 different trucks and these are just the ones I know of not even a week later the same group of teenagers got caught breaking into one of my neighbors cars and shot him they almost killed him they are still on the loose. I’m a gun guy myself I own many many guns and carry daily so I’m not saying anything against that I’m just saying please don’t leave your weapons in your vehicle especially overnight your vehicle is so easy to break into and then they seriously end up on the streets I’ve never seen a weapon go from a legal owner to a criminal to a violent crime in such a quick time period and all within a mile from where the gun was stolen to used in the crime so you never know it sounds weird you never thing you’re gun would get stolen out of your truck then used to shoot your neighbor but it could. Stay safe 🙏🏽
Thanks for the upload!! I just purchased the SCCY CPX2CB, new, earlier this evening. I have done some research on the brand, but not this particular model, but the price was very affordable, as it was the very last in stock, and I could not pass it up! It feels just right in my hand, and I'm ready for tomorrow, so I can throw some lead through this thing!!!
HAVE to be the Taurus, each and every time. Quality and reliable. This is not the same company it was some years ago...If I had to pick a gun that I would bet my life or others, the Taurus each and every time JMO God Bless
@Keeth Blulk Smash I noticed the black slide finish on the pt111 G2s and G2Cs was pretty poor as well. Glad I got a stainless one which pretty much takes care of that problem! It's understandable as they are making these things at a price point.
I just bought a G2S against my better judgment in the mid 2000s my dad had a taurus 45 can't remember which one but it was always jamming and didn't eject the shell correctly, well see how my 9mm holds up
Nice sales pitch for the Sccy. I vote for Sccy all day long. I have them both. The Sccy after return from warranty repair works 100%. How you say it? "I would bed my life on it". But I don't have to because I carry Shield 9. But be aware, Taurus customer service is not the best in town. They have my TCP 380 since May 2017 and not sending it back. So if it has to be a budged gun think twice. What if you need repair? A product is only as good as the service on the product. You could buy a Mercedes Benz, but if you have no real service for that product, it is practically worthless. So because of the lack of customer service (no, the nice talking lady on the phone does not really help a lot if you have a problem) I vote for Sccy.
my package arrives today with my upgrades for my G2C. Halographic sites, stanless guide rod and new asmund short strike trigger. I love the gun but the stock trigger is not the best. Can't wait to fix it up tonight and head to the range.
I have both. Both are reliable and eat anything. Neither one has given me any issues. I'll take the G2C cuz of the +2 round count, and cuz the CPX2 grip sucks. It's like holding a 2x4.
The SCCY has one big advantage as a carry gun, that heavy long trigger. While it’s a curse in other well known ways that long heavy trigger makes it as hard as it can reasonably get to AD the thing . I find it the same as a SA revolver . It’s not gonna go off by accident if reasonably handled. What it does greatly benefit from though is a Galloway or McCarbo trigger and spring set.👍🏻. I put one on mine and it pretty much cured MOST of the long reset and very heavy trigger. The adjustable set screw allows you to balance both to a decent extent. Just don’t expect it to become a target pistol. Mine shoots about the same as my Ruger LCP which is a good balance of safety and functionality. With any sort of practice you can easily overcome the reset issue that some have.
Firearms are like Jeeps to me. I don't buy them if they look good. It's about how they run. Hell, if Hi Points didn't as weight as much as an anvil, I'd buy one.
Palmetto State Armory has the SCCYCPX on sale for $150 to $160 with a $25 rebate, 10/01/2019 - I own the the Taurus great gun and for what I paid for it I am not dissappointed, great home defense pistol.
My local Rural King gun counter guy who has been shooting for 24 years carry's an SCCY as his EDC and says it is far better quality than most. The lifetime warranty even moves to new owners. I just didn't like how fat the grip is for if I'm doing a waistband inner carry.
The main issue I've seen with my sccy is they do fire high. But alot of it is because of the long trigger pull and the kick that's not compensated well because of the guns light weight.
Great video and comparison l picked the G2C for my wife, she is a new shooter so l like having a trigger safety for her also I think the G2C is more reliable.
My G2C is my EDC and I own lots of pistols, but part of that is because I'm anal about keeping my more expensive guns in shape cosmetically. However, it says alot that I would still bet my life on my G2C. It has been super reliable.
I have a pt140 millennium 2 and I love it! My wife has sccy cpx-1 and I love the way it feels in the hand and after shooting it a few times u don’t notice the trigger. Quality pistol for the price!
I've owned both they are both good reliable 200 guns I like both but the sccy's trigger is very heavy not a real problem in the moment but I do like the trigger on the G2C
TY! Helped me decide. U did great demo. My wife swapped her g2c for my beloved .38. I been shopping for cc after being irreparably damaged by over-zealous LEO. ( I was victim of incident/cleared). I'll use the g2c until I find sumpin that fits me.
I trust my life with a Glock over anything else. I'll pay the extra money. You can't beat their dependability! They go bang no matter what! Even under water 🌊 LOL! I'll spend the $300 to $500 for my life. I love the Gen-3 subcompact Glocks! I just picked up a used Glock 23 for $317!
@@cujoman187 Glocks make fine pistols, but don't paint with a broad brush. Glocks usually are dependable, but my G42 & G43 can't make it through a mag with my wife shooting it. Went shooting several weeks ago with several groups and a friend brought his SIG P320 & his G19gen5. I brought my Walther PPS, Ruger LC9S, Shield EZ, Taurus G2C & Bersa Thunder. My wife can shoot, she is very accurate, but she doesn't have the best grip and undoubtedly limp wrists firearms to a degree. She shot all firearms listed, all fed and fired 100% except the Glock - turns it into a jamomatic. Fired it 6 times and 6 stovepipes. She set it down and I shot the rest of the mag without issue. Military Arms Channel has a video of Glocks jamming vs other manufacturers. I'm neither a Glock fan boy or hater, but as for quality and dependability, there are numerous manufacturers that equal and surpass Glock.
@@boileruphammerdown5455 IDK what's wrong with yours but I had both the G42 and still have the G43 also and never had an issue with either of them. I also "made them right" by putting the Strike Industries +2 bases on all 4 of the mags from day one as well so maybe it has something to do with the spring being to compressed with the stock base plates. I love the SI base plates and feel that's the way those guns should have came from the factory anyway. Now on to other Gen Glocks. I don't care for any others other than the Gen-3 compact ones although I do have a full-size Gen-3 Glock 10mm that I like a lot also. The 4th gens I have to push the muzzle down to aim cause they screwed up the handle angle when they made the Gen-4. I have a Gen-4 .45 subcompact that I hate! I've spent so much money trying to get it to work for me and nope nothing works so I'll stick with what I know works for me and I'll sell the Gen-4. I picked up a SCCY and I hate it as well. Reminds me of my S&W Bodyguard .380 I had until the G42 took it's place. Long trigger pull which for me doesn't work for accurate aiming. I picked it up cause it was $167 with the taxes and fees so super cheap and well you get what you pay for. My buddy picked up the Taurus G2C and it's a decent gun for sure! It reminds me a lot of a Glock and that's why I like it. I haven't had any issues as far as my Glocks feeding anything you put through them although I have had other manufactures that were very ammo specific and sorry but that's a no go for this guy! I don't keep guns that are ammo specific. I want to put the cheapest crap I can find through them cause I like to shoot lots of rounds. I buy ammo in bulk when it's on sale and I'm not picky about what it is so long as it's brass. I guess if it was me I would send your Glocks in and have them checked out cause even a female shooting with a limp wrist should still be able to shoot them. That or teach her how to shoot right so she doesn't have that issue! Lol I've got a Taurus Raging Judge Magnum that shoots 454 Casull rounds that will teach her real quick you hold on to the damn gun or it will come back and bite ya!
I've got both. Got the SCCY first and enjoyed it until I tried the Tarus; laid it down and the Tarus has been my edc every since. Love the accuracy of the Tarus and the trigger pull.
Me too
My first handgun was the G2C............I got the CPX-1 a couple months later and decided that I'd rather sell NIB than waste my time taking it to the range and have to deal w/that trigger.
Lol try a px4 storm .40sw
My G2C works 100% with all of my Sig P226 magazines so it gets my vote. They even lock the slide back on empty. It makes for a nice higher capacity option with the available 15, 18 and 20 round Sig mags.
Yeah I think I need to get the sig mags. I just habe my stock 13 rd mags for the G2c 9mm
Thanks for sharing that information on being able to use the higher capacity Sig mags. The 2GC delivers awesome bang for the buck and no pun intended.
What do you guys use on the sign mags as a sleeve for the grip match I love my G2C
For 26 dollars u can get a 32 round magazine for the g2c from Taurus.
@Make That Point u can get the Taurus g2c in 40 caliber too.
@@JustinOpinionChannelcan you review the sccy dvg1 stricker fired gun
Possibly the best pistol comparison video on RUclips. Nice Job putting this together.
I have a G2c and my fiance has a SCCY. Both are amazing guns especially for thier price points
One thing I personally found with the SCCY was that it points very naturally, like a 1911 points naturally.
Mcarbo. Makes a bad ass trigger system for 30$ love my trigger on my sccy cpx-2 now almost feels like a bb gun trigger.
Greetings from Kentucky: G2C for me. A Merry Christmas to all....thank you for yet another year of exceptional videos.

The more I see, the more impressed I am with that Taurus.
Ross Peeler they’re great pistols man. Get one.. you won’t regret it I promise.
@@thechad2446 I agree 💯% I carry mine every day unless I carry my Taurus 357 5rnd snub
Great pistol very reliable
The G2 is one of those things you buy at least 2 of. ANY gun that works that well, carries, and comes at $200 you get more than one even if you dont like it. Never know...may be a day you need the extra or it's an extra to help a family member or friend who doesn't have one in a shtf situation or natural catastrophe. I have the G2 and the G2c 9mm. Love them both. Prob get one more.
Yeah I really like that it has a fireing pin blocking mechanism, like the Glock. so you can carry one in the pipe safely
Like the G2C. Bought 3, me, son, and son-in-law. Ammo is cheap in 9mm platform and it eats all brands with no malfunction. I have fed 500 rounds before I cleaned so it doesn’t mind getting dirty.
I vote G2C all day long.
I've been EDC'ing a G2C since they came out and have over 1k rounds through it have only had ONE failure to eject. Like, ever
Paid only $219 for my g2c well worth it
I agree with KS!
@@robl884 Mine sucked!!! I tried to LOVE it...Butt... Did your's run 100%???
I have the SCCY and older Taurus Pt-111. I love them both. SCCY used to have a GREAT warranty, I hope that they still do.
You have an old Taurus new ones are made in Georgia USA . New plant, retooled, and new employees. Whole different gun now.
We're spoiled to have so many affordable, yet effective handguns. The last couple years have been good for gun innovation.
Man this was a great review! I have both of these guns and this review really nailed it for me. Thanks for taking the time out to make this video. Happy shooting brother 👍🏽💪🏽
Best non bias review on 2 good pocket friendly guns
I own both. Like them both. Every firearm has its pluses and minuses.
SCYY is like having an 11 round double action revolver. I have two. One for each of my trucks. Love them and have had no issues.
My family has 5 sccy
The only issue is +p+ will damage the springs after approximately 6-7 rounds.
Note This is abuse.
No test on G2C
Dumb ass move.
i own both the both really good remote hole punches for the money my g2c is a bit picker about what it eats the triggers are as different as nite and day but the sccy cpx-2 is my go to i would get the one the feels the best to you
I hope you don't mean a ppk,cuz its twice the gun as a ppk!
SCCY CPX2 is more smaller and alot lighter to conceal than Taurus G2C. SCCY was ahead of their time when they created it.
IF THE SCCY WAS SO GOOD YOU WOULD NEED CUSTOMER SUPPORT / REPAIR.
Yes I use the Hogue(Hogue Handall, I believe) grips on my pistols it's more sticky than just textured polymer.
Very good video! I own a g2c and it is very good. You took a very objective approach with your appraisal.
A correction: the Taurus G2C is NOT double action or double action only. It is a striker fired, single action with second strike capability. Or single action/"double action" (second strike).
Yep! He should have checked the S/A trigger pull, the only time it operates as a D/A is with the restrike capability. 🇺🇸
Yes bro people dont know that when u cock it the trigger is extremely lighter
G2c is the winner. I bought two of them, I got twins baby
I got twin pt111 g2. Wanna get twins in the g2c
Me two i carry one for back up and one as my main ccw
I have the g2c an the g2s haven't shot the g2s yet I have shot g2c no complaints looking forward to shooting the g2s
I had twin Glock 22’s at one time.

G2C is so much better for the money u pay.
I bought my wife the sccy and neither her nor I could hit anything with it. But right out of the box the g2c hit right where it should have
I remember, back in the day, when anmo was available and i shot regularly.
I like that the G2C has a rail for a light or laser.
This Video is a perfect 10/10 Great job with comparing both weapons. I just purchased the Sccy for my wife. Thanks for the video
I love my SCCY CPX-2 lifetime unconditional warranty made in the USA Daytona Beach Florida.
July 2019 Taurus grandfathered lifetine warranty to original purchasers.
@@hotrodray6802 its not lifetime if its only for original purchasers, lol, the warranty follows the guns life for sccy, no matter who owns it, it transfers to them

All Taurus have lifetime guarantee. Always have and are made also in Florida.
I like mine too but I'm looking at the g2c for my next pistol because I like the nose rail and the price once it goes back on sale here.
My edc for the last 3 years has been the G2c. My wife's is the G3c, which, also, is her home office firearm.
Loving my G3c, just putting the 1st 250 rounds thru mine..
ooh like buttah!
minor correction the Taurus G2C is single/double action. Single action has a much lighter trigger pull than the double action.
How can that be ? It's a striker fired pistol, so isn't it DOA automatically ?
I appreciate the reviews of different aspects of the performance and manufactering.
Love the ability of being able to see target. Also very little waste of my time to review a pistol like the comparison method. Great Job!!
Very good comparison and review. Thank you !
I have a PT111 G2 with well over 1000 rounds and not one single failure of any kind. The SCCY is intriguing, but I’m inclined to stick with something that’s worked so well for me so far.
I have a Taurus g2c. And I like it. It's just amazing how many Taurus fan boys came out of the shadows after this gun was released.
Taurus had an iffy reputation in the past, but now they seem to be legendary. G3, G2c, and TX-22 are a legendary trio.
@@ruthlessrubberducky5729 legendary? No. Average yea. I sold my Taurus g2c. Its not that great imo its just ok.
@@nicholasemerson9852 It's reliable, packed with goodies and all in a cheap package. Probably best gun for the money period. Not going to say it competes with 1-2k guns, but they've left a big impact on the market.

Now I will say ill take the tx22 over a glock 44 any day and I'm excited to see what Taurus has in store for the future. Theyre definitely headed in the right direction.
I got a g2c and really liked it but I prefer sccy.
I like sccy and tarus both decent guns I love all guns no matter the brand even a high point

Light out of Darkness awesome. Thank you for the reply. You’ve earned a new subscriber. Keep up the great work and content.
@@brandonstroud5148 Its not a DAO trigger on the G2c. Its a single action when the slide cycles. It only goes double action if the slide does not cycle. The trigger is long (no resistance) with a short reset in single action.

That was funny?
Thats dumb as fuck 2 say . The victim implies the person maybe innocent. Perpetrator sounds better for a person that's not out starting shit hoping t. Kill somebody

I bought the same gun at Rural King for the same price $199. Great price for a great little pistol.
@@DoneDeal2 just letting us know how edgy and cool they are…
I just bought a G2c and I love it!!!

G2C is my edc. Love it.
I've used them 3 times, two of them were my fault as I had overstretched the hammer spring trying to lighten the trigger a bit.the first time it was to have the frame pins replaced with the newer larger ones as the originals would start to work their way out after firing a mag or 3.But never have I had either of the 3 Sccys I have owned (still have two)fail to fire or jam on me at all.Probaly have at least 500 rnds thru each.
i have both of these guns, both perform very well and they are affordable - good guns for the price range.
No safety, sometimes in single action, sometimes in double action
I own both these guns the sccy has been very unreliable compared to the g2c . the frame pins steady walk out after around 50 rounds and I have a lot of failures to go fully into battery with the sccy. The g2c has been 100% so far
The SCCY is an easy fix you could do yourself. Second option is send it back for repair and you will have it back in less than a week and it will be 100%
@@barefootbob1269 I don't own a SCCY and love my G2, but SCCY deserves full credit for their great customer service reputation backing their product 100%
I have a sccy and it’s reliable never failed once out of the box. Must’ve gotten a lemon
@@jayguevara6153 You can't stay in business long if every 4th gun comes back!! Do not buy!!! I DID!!! I gave it away!!!
I've got both of them also and my pins are walking out on the sccy also. But my g2c runs Flawless and probably going to get a second one
The G2c is a great gun. Carry it almost every day
I ended up getting both of these guns.
I definitely prefer the Taurus G2c or G3c over the SCCY because i feel like the Taurus has a little better trigger, a shorter reset, and better Accuracy overall.
double action trigger
Why don't you quit booger hookin so hard then, you might want a px4 storm
Yeah. The G2C and G3C have some of the shortest resets compared to a lot of subcompact pistols on the market.
This morning I went in to the gun shop leaning towards the SCCY... all American too..... BUT.... the SCCY grip was a touch too wide for my average size hands. (Wide butt to trigger). I walked out with a G2C.
I bought the sccy first.. then I shot a g2c and loved how it felt in the hand and bought one the next day now I have both..
I actually own both and both have been Flawless over the past year or so.... For concealed carry I actually prefer the Sccy because I feel safer carrying something with a long double action trigger pull and do not care for guns with a manual safety.
@Cody Shanks that is an accident waiting to happen
You do realize that the G2C is SINGLE ACTION.
Use the safety.
just buy one today sccy great gun
Best comment to really separate the difference that will matter for an EDC gun choice. G2c all the way out of both of them.
You shouldn't handle firearms if you lose a pin that takes quite some force to remove, do you have one?
@@XG916 You shouldn't manufacture firearms if you require a pin that takes quite some force to remove to preform basic maintenance on it
@@SlickAstley_TV it's either a pin or be retarded like glock with their stupid dual push up plastic switches.
Interesting about the feed ramp on your SCCY. I looked at mine and it's not like that. Mine looks polished and smooth.
Have the SCCY, just bought the G2C today. Like them both.
I own both guns and carry them both but I love my sccy more
Thanks for the upload!!
Just bought one and mine came with 3 12roumd mags. Also just bought the SCCY CPX-2 and love them both
HAVE to be the Taurus, each and every time. Quality and reliable. This is not the same company it was some years ago...If I had to pick a gun that I would bet my life or others, the Taurus each and every time
JMO
God Bless
@Keeth Blulk Smash I noticed the black slide finish on the pt111 G2s and G2Cs was pretty poor as well. Glad I got a stainless one which pretty much takes care of that problem! It's understandable as they are making these things at a price point.
@@jayguevara6153 shit I was wanting the black one too
I just bought a G2S against my better judgment in the mid 2000s my dad had a taurus 45 can't remember which one but it was always jamming and didn't eject the shell correctly, well see how my 9mm holds up
@@dev894 I got the g2c it's awesome man best 200 i spent

Thanks for the nice review. Subscribed.
But no mention of the Taurus' external safety 😞
I heard this before. I was going to get a Taurus, but have decided on a Ruger and later a Walther instead.
Love that the Sccy can suck a dropped mag back into the mag well. Let’s see a Sig do that!
my package arrives today with my upgrades for my G2C.
For 26 dollars you can get a 32 round magazine for the g2c from Taurus
Just bought a Cpx2 for$179 and agree, the trigger is very long and handle big and bulky, other than that looks good
Firearms are like Jeeps to me. I don't buy them if they look good. It's about how they run. Hell, if Hi Points didn't as weight as much as an anvil, I'd buy one.
where do you get the idea they both have a da only trigger?
Dual Action fires the 1st round, Single Action fires the remaining rounds.
@@veg1run its not a DA/SA more a SA/DA striker fire with double strike capabilities.
I just got a P365 and G2C. First trip to the range two days ago and both were flawless. More testing to go. Wife likes G2C.
Palmetto State Armory has the SCCYCPX on sale for $150 to $160 with a $25 rebate, 10/01/2019 - I own the the Taurus great gun and for what I paid for it I am not dissappointed, great home defense pistol.
Gary Van Camp so tempted but I’ve gotten quite to many recently I shouldn’t temp myself anymore
My first baby is a G2C and I didn't even know she's so popular!
Good to know. I fire low due to looking over the barrel combat style instead of getting a good sight pic.
Thanks for a good review mine is the sccy! no problems! it likes the 124 grain! good gun!
Another excellent video! I vote G2C.😎
MCARBO sells a 4# trigger spring kit. Half of OE.
TY! Helped me decide. U did great demo. My wife swapped her g2c for my beloved .38. I been shopping for cc after being irreparably damaged by over-zealous LEO. ( I was victim of incident/cleared). I'll use the g2c until I find sumpin that fits me.
I’ll tell you, I’ve heard people with issues on the SCCY for mag issues and accuracy. But I’ve never had one issue.

G2c stands do "Glocks 2 costly"
Good one!
Bruh u be saying this on every damn gtc vid boi u ain't even got a glock
Both are great guns wife has them both in 9mm with Buffalo bore 147gr +p hard cast and seismic 185gr Rounds..no issues
I can hit pretty good with my sccy .
Whatever gun you are good with, use that.
