    I don't care what anybody says about SCCY. I had an experience with a gen 2 cpx9 that was absolutely abused and left out in the elements for at least 3 months with no mag in it. Cleaned it, got a new recoil spring, new sights, a new mag and ran 150 rds through it with zero issues. Customer service was great as well.

      People like to Crap on SCCY because they're a budget gun with a DAO trigger! But they are really well made for the price point. SCCY should be commended for being an American company employing Americans! They sometimes have a few hiccups with the mags(which are made in-house)BUT...if u do a little sanding around the magazine follower skirt, and some polishing of the feed lips, along w/leaving them loaded for a couple days....mine have been flawless! I've never had to send a SCCY mag back. Or had a warranty problem of any kind. I'm glad guns like SCCY are available.

      Id hope so these aren't even remotely close or can even be compared to a. High point 😂😅😂 I carry this on one of my setups. I've had Glocks Sigs etc. these fire just the same in my opinion as any top doller gun ur just paying for a name. I run this for my EDC and my CCW. Also got one on my plate carrier etc etc love sccy got plenty of them

    The amazing thing is their customer service. They sent me new mags, the early ones springs caused jamming. I had the cpx1 but the safety dug into my thumb, they sent me a cpx2 body. The gun shoots and cycles fine but the trigger was just always to heavy and long, it actually hurt my finger. It has been in a drawer for a few years because of that. But they are a good little gun and a great company.

      I bought one about 4 years ago. The first semi automatic I've owned. I did a lot of dry fire practice. And learning to stage the trigger was necessary so I wouldn't pull the barrel when shooting. Once you've pulled the trigger slightly, there's no tension on the trigger.

    I bought a purple frame CPX-2 3rd gen and while it’s clearly not perfect with the trigger being a slight challenge, it’s perfect for me to conceal and carry, reliable, and consistent. I understand why some folks hate them but for others, the CPX-2 will be tried and true after the learning curve. We should ALWAYS take care of our firearms however you can beat the CPX-2 to hell and back and she’ll still work.
    I would recommend a 15 capacity mag to help compensate some of the recoil and having a comfortable grip. Worked for me 😎

    I used my CPX-2 Gen 2 for my CHP class. Felt safe drawing and holstering because it has a DAO trigger. People complain about the trigger but that's what makes it safe and simple. Get the version without the safety, one less problem if you have to draw and shoot.

  • @bassclef41
    @bassclef41 Год назад +4

    My first 9mm was a gen 1 and it was a challenge due to the long trigger and reset BUT IT TOOK EVERYTHING i SHOT THROUGH IT AND IT WAS A VERY RELIABLE FIREARM BUT GIFTED IT TO A FAMILY MEMBER DURING THE QUARINTINE . I tend to carry revolvers in 38 and 357 so the long and heavy trigger is not really an issue and have a Barretta Nano as my primary 9mm. . I recently got the gen 3 as the price was on point and again it did well at the range . The updated design is a plus and in all fairness the trigger is an improvement . Due to capacity and reliability this has become a primary carry .

    Hey Hammer Striker, I love your videos. One thing, tho. You didn't go into detail on the quad locking barrel design. This is one of the most interesting features of this pistol (albeit, it could just be marketing bunk). Perhaps a quick folow up vid? I also think these SCCY pistols are excellent for the budget-minded self defender who isn't spending hours at the range trying to get 2 MOA at 25 yards. They're all about "point, shoot, perp down". Good for non-gun folks.

    I have owned a cpx-1 red dot for over three years, it has been a great firearm. I did put a trigger kit in mine to lower the trigger pull to 4lbs. When it was new I did have a few failure to feed problems but after 50 rounds I had none. After each time to the range I clean mine, I now use mine for ccw. A couple of weeks ago I found a deal on a cpx-2. The trigger on the cpx-2 breaks at 6 lbs. and my cpx-1 broke at 8 lbs. before the trigger kit. I think SCCY manufactures a great product made in the USA that most people can afford. I do own some Glocks, Sigs and Colts but I think the SCCY fills the roll of concealed carry just as well as the more expensive firearms

Just a tad more accurate(I felt more comforable/fit better in hand/didn't torque as much in recoil). Gotta keep ec9s for pocket carry( 10 hr/day/6 day wk) but cpx2 rides well in auto/hangs beside door/and goes in jacket pocket, so, it aint lonely!!

    Nice review, but you did not explain what the new "Quad Lock" actually IS, and how it might be different from the earlier version 2 of the CPX2. By the way, there is no NEED for a drop-safety mechanism (much less a manual safety lever) for a gun that is never even cocked until the trigger is fully pulled. It’s basically like a revolver. The hammer is at rest against the firing pin. But the firing pin is held in place by a very strong spring. And the firing pin itself is super light. The main safety is the heavy trigger just like a revolver I own two of these and love them it’s a very safe gun to carry !! I highly recommend them.

      The Sccy is admittedly a modified Kel-tec P11, very nearly the same, as is that first Ruger pocket nine that conquered the world. Kel-tec never patents their designs! They think that other makers copying them is a compliment! I had a Kel-tec P11 for THIRTY YEARS and fired at least five hundred rounds of ammo through, and IT NEVER FAILED ONCE. It was still more accurate than I could be. I now have the Sccy CPX2 because it is PRETTY!..........................elsullo

    Sorry guys. This gun is a real stinker. If not for its cheap price point it would have zero reason for existing. Scroll to 5:05 when he pulls the trigger and the whole gun shakes because not only is 9 pound pull terrible for a dao, but the trigger breaking at the very very back of the trigger guard is a sure solution to shoot with the outside tip of your finger high and left. This is also a chonky boy with little purchase. IF this is the only gun you can afford (and I keep seeing it for $169.00) then it is better than a harsh word and a sharp stick. I would suggest if you need to be budget minded, to invest about twice as much in a Ruger LCP Max. It is also a smallish gun, the DAO is about 6 pounds tops but I lube and polish, so I measure it about 5 pounds pretty consistently. Both sights are adjustable on the horizontal axis and replaceable with push sites of all kinds. Your life is worth the extra $150 and think of it this way: if you resell that sccy it will be worth a cup of coffee. The Ruger will be worth 3/4 of the value.
