Terry Brown. I recently purchased 2 spare magazines for it. I started having feeding issues with it. I knew it was the magazines and not the gun but I lost confidence in it and have replaced/upgraded the SCCY.
Can’t seem to find any new ones, the ones with the red dots, but I see a ton of used ones. Any advice on how to tell if they’re too far gone or what’s a good price?
I'm an old Boomer and I've always loved my revolvers. I could not find one anywhere near the price of this. I gave it a try and I have not been disappointed.
Thanks for the shout out. Also, you’re really making me look at these guns differently. Great shooting and great video. My guy Who Tee Whoooooooo‼️‼️‼️
I had 2 older models, 1 for my gf, and 1 for me. Great, very reliable, pistols. The only con was the triggers. I have 2 new models and the trigger pull is spot on. Good job done by the company
Everyone that supports the channel should hit play all when they hit the sack. Help run up those play hours for him. This guy is working hard and supporting other You tubers.
I worked in a gun store and we sold a lot of these especially the blue and pink frames women loved them.Always seemed like high value for a great price.
I absolutely love SCCY's. I own 5, 3 CPX-2's (one with a CT red dot and a 3lb pull trigger kit from M-Carbo) 1 gen-3, a DVG-1 with a Armalaser TR10 green laser and a Sightmark Mini Shot A-spec M3 micro red dot, and last but not least a CPX-3. Yes they have heavy trigger pull and a long reset out of the box except for the DVG-1 and the CPX-3. The DVG-1 doesn't have restrike capability like the CPX's do because of the striker fire a presume. The CPX-2 gen 3 makes a great dry fire trainer with the pic rail on the bottom for the Mantis-X. I put Talon grips on all of them. All 5 guns came to less than1250.00. All the accessories came to less than 500.00. They all shoot great, are reliable, and they are very concealable. They take a bit of getting used to and need at least 100 round break in. Overall, good, affordable, concealable, reliable self-defense EDC. SCCY also warranties the gun with a transferable warranty for life.
People only criticize this gun for what it isn't, but never praise it for what it actually is. It's a decent CC 9 that has a lifetime warranty. Anyone that gets one and it has issues and you don't know how to fix it, then you just don't know much about guns, and probably shouldn't be around them. I have 2 CPX-2 9's and both are great guns. I bought my 1st one about 4 or 5 years ago The only issues I've had are FTF with a few of the magazines. I fixed that issue and they run great. I disassembled them, cleaned them, got familiar with them, put them back together, and now carry them in different vehicles. Most people can't even disassemble/reassemble these pistols but yet get on RUclips ranting and raving that we should have bought this or that. I can modify and make a cheaper pistol work without issues. I only CC my guns as I don't waste time and money at the range. I go 2-3X a year to check my guns and practice. Never an issue with my SCCY pistols. (Buy American) only applies if some of you agree with the product we're spending our money on. Thanks for upload my friend. It was well thought out and I enjoyed it. Nice shooting!
I bought one for my wife and she had a lil trouble with the heavy trigger. So I kinda inherited it, it will cycle anything I have put through it. I haven't had a fail to cycle yet, dirty or clean. It's 6 years old, I believe. It was the second model they put out. The first run had a few kinks from what I was told, but mine is flawless and accurate.
Excellent video sir, I've owned g43x, p365, hellcat, g 19, reluctantly sold them years ago,and now I'm broke. Need a carry gun for cheap. I really think I'll get the sccy cpx2, no red dot. $219. I don't mind a DAO trigger. I think guys who complain are spoiled little girls who are used to a custom 3lb trigger, but they'll be the ones with the negligent discharge when they didn't mean to pull the trigger.
Brand new DVG-1 owner, long time CPX-2 owner, with over 2,000 rounds through it. Very comfortable to carry, very tough to master. From a reliability standpoint, it's never failed to go "bang," but I have had numerous issues, such as roll pins walking out, broken extractor, broken rail.
Hi I have the plain cpx2 iron sights. I love the gun. It has a trigger pull similar to a S&w chief. So I was use to it. I had to slow down a bit and the groups began to get smaller. Like you said it takes practice. The gun shoots straight if you aim straight. It’s a great gun very dependable and sturdy. Good luck. PS. I am getting the plain GVD when it is back in stock at my local gun shop.
Fix to the trigger is a McCarbo adjustable trigger and spring kit. Brought my trigger down to 4.3 lb from the factory 8lb. It's an American made product also made in Florida right down the way from SCCY ... Both made in the U.S.A...
Sccy and KelTec are both Florida companies, and I live in Florida and like to support as many local businesses as possible. Much rather have one of these over a Taurus any day!
I bought the all black G2C in 9mm and a CPX2 gen3 with the nickel plated slide and blued grips last year, love them both. ❤️ They feel like quality firearms able to protect my community and me when out in public. ❤️🇺🇲😇
I purchased a cpx2 on a whim several years ago. Never did much care for the heavy trigger pull. Ended up installing an m*carbo trigger spring kit...always fun to tinker and really made the trigger acceptable in the 4lb range
I got a CPX2 from a friend. I like the way it shoots. I'm used to shooting double action revolvers so no problem acclimating to the long trigger. It is smooth and consistent. It will be my edc.
I really need to comment more on your videos. You have that "real guy" personality and approach to thing I appreciate. My wife wanted a Sccy and regardless of the naa sayers, you convinced me to try it. I understand some may be hit or miss on reliability but I am seeing way more positives and honesty I do like it.
I had one of these when they first came out. IMO, good gun for the money. Con, trigger. I think the triggers are a lot better now. Only reason I don’t have the gun right now is a friend of mine wanted this more than I did and we did a swap. A gun I had wanted for a long time. I got a very good deal on it by the way. Still have the gun I traded for and that has been well over 12 years ago.
I started getting so much into guns thanks to channel like Hicock45 but I discovered this channel almost a year ago and you've made really good videos about 22's and tbh I just moved to the STATES from PR and 22 was my first self defense (due to my budget) but your videos made me feel sure about the small but lethal boom boom coming out of my pew pew
Looks like a good shooter for the price. Like WTW said, it ain't gonna win any precision target competitions, but for self defense the SCCY is more than adequate. 👍
MCARBO trigger spring kit will reduced that 9-10lb trigger pull down to 4-5lb trigger pull, I've installed two of those kits in the CPX2, pretty easy install and MCARBO has a detailed video on the procedure. What I would like to see is SCCY come out with a .22 caliber pistol comparable to KelTec's P17.
I have a CPX-2 and a Glock 43X, both chambered in 9mm. I changed the trigger and recoil spring in my SCCY to reduce recoil and trigger pull. I prefer the SCCY for my everyday carry.
I have one of the early cpx2's and I lost it on some public hunting land due to my own carelessness. I searched for that thing at least 5 hours the day I lost it. I went back intermittently over the course of six months. Believe it or not I found it, cleaned the heck out of it, got a new set of sights cuz they were trashed and put 50 rds through it. I had 3 fail to feeds out of that 50rds. Replaced the mag with a new one and now I'm well over 500 rds with no issues. I also triple check my friggin gear before I leave my hunting spots now 😑.
Thank you so much for providing information that we would like to know your time and your efforts are so valuable., as you said, it's a defensive gun and those are the things we need to know
I bought my wife a Sig Sauer Mosquito years ago, that had the heaviest trigger pull of any handgun I had ever picked up. She was barely 115 pounds and could shoot pretty well, but that trigger pull was impossible for her to overcome. So, I had to kick her loose, got a younger healthier model that can handle the 7lb trigger pull on a weapon.
I recently bought a SCCY with red dot and I took it to the range. Your definitely right it’s not a range gun. I have a gunsmith friend who is going to do a trigger job for me for 80.00. Can’t wait to get it done. Covid has my wife and I on our butts at home right now. I’ll keep you posted on the trigger job. God bless!!
Another great video. I appreciate your realistic look at a decent budget carry gun. I currently own 2 cpx2’s and have just ordered the dvg1. After seeing your video, I feel I made the right choice. Thanks.
Just pulled the trigger on the basic cpx-2 without red dot or safety, as a range gun. Was listed at an amazing $169 at PSA for Presidents day sale, so I couldn't resist.... I usually just train with my EDC...sig p365...but wanted something else to play with! Hell... At the cost of a box of 9mm, getting a new toy instead. I'm looking forward to putting some rounds downrange with it.
I have no complaints about the CPX-2 for the money it is a definite winner if one does`nt like the heavy trigger just drop in a Mcarbo trigger kit and it`s even better.
Stretching the hammer spring also reduces the trigger pull and cost nothing. My CPX-2 has been reliable after initial mag issues. The Gen 3 grip is a little thinner and easier to hold, important because it's a little snappy. As far as the DAO trigger, it makes the gun more safe when drawing. Not a target pistol.
Love mine some people don't like the trigger of the Cpx-2 but that's because they have no idea what DAO is they prefer striker fire & don't realize it a hammer fired pistol with a long smooth pull. If you want a striker fire get the Dvg-1 & quit bashing an action that's clearly not for you.
I have had 3 sccy guns all were good i did not like the red dot version sold it went back to the cpx 2 no dot i have no problems with the double action only trigger but i like revolvers and shoot them all the time i carry my sccy almost every day it works as good as any of my very expensive guns maybe not as fancy but it will save your life
I had a Cpx-2 when they first cake out. It shot great. The long trigger is like shooting a revolver. Macron makes a spring kit to take the 9 pound down to around 4 pound. I have it but not switched out yet. Should maybe a difference when I do.
I love my sccy cpx-1 I can hit the center of a target at 10-15yrds all day long I've upgraded the factory sights to fiber optic and upgraded the trigger with a short stroke dark sky kit along with aftermarket grip I use 115g sig v-crown I've noticed the sccy's don't like the heavier grain
Every company out there had to start from the 1st one made and getting as big as they are with very little advertising means there getting bigger from word of mouth i have purchased 2 Sccy cpx's my daughter and wife both love them
I just received my first SCCY. Figured I would give it a chance since I live close to the factory if I needed it fixed. I say that due to all the negative reviews out there. Even the ones from ppl who claim to be proficient with weapons. I am not a fan of the trigger for sure. But all the issues that are claimed out there, I can see being a YOU issue. It is not a s/w or a glock so it does take some getting use to. Perfect practice makes perfect.
Just a bit of advice for new cpx owners, if you have a gen 1 you can shoot 115 and 124 grain flawless BUT if you have a gen 2 stay with 147 grain only and you won't have any feeding/ejection issues
Interesting little pistol for the money. I’ve thought about picking one up just to get used to a red dot on a pistol to see if I like it. Thanks for sharing!
I carry a sccy in my truck as a back up to my sig 938 9mm. When I'm home it lays on the table next to my recliner. I've only shot it a few times. It's always worked with no problem. I don't think I'd want it as my primary daily carry gun but I think it makes a great backup.
I have had a SCCY cpx-1 red dot for three years. The only difference between the cpx-1 and the cpx-2 is, the 1 has a manual safety that I don’t think is necessary. Nothing wrong with the 8 lb. Trigger pull but if you are at the range you get tired. I put a trigger kit in mine that lowered the pull to 4 lbs. great pistol for self defense and a lot of fun. My 380 is too expensive to shoot vs. my 9mm.
Good shooting WTW and it might be worth mentioning the the red dots have a notch in the back of them so you can make use of the front sights , or at least mine does, keep up the good work sir
Seem to have quite the following of SCCY owners here. I have a CPX-2 red dot similar to your older gun. For me the jury is still out. It definitely shoots different from my other guns with stout recoil, weird (though I don't hate it) trigger, and for my hands any way, not the best ergonomics due to that chunky, but short grip. And full disclosure it's my first red dot. So I am struggling a bit and also seeing some things I am not sure are the gun and not me. The most concerning is, and I have run several different types of ammo (gun does seem to eat anything which is a big plus), so it's not just a dirty ammo. After 50 rounds the gun is filthy black carbon coming around the seam between the slide and the frame(I have a blue frame because it was cheaper at the time) , ramp caked in carbon, inside the front of the frame pretty dirty. Almost seems like something is causing my gun to break battery a hair too soon possibly related to the recoil and accuracy issues. I checked my recoil springs which are something of an issue I have heard and they seem good/in spec. Might have to call SCCY, but wondering if anyone has seen similar. If I could tame these issues I think the gun would grow on me more.
RELIABILITY is job 1 in a defensive pistol ! Ive really been thinking of buying one since my Glock 17 is getting a bit heavy for my 60 year old hip , if i can get a softball size group at 7 yards WITHOUT a stovepipe im buying . Good video !
I have a sccy cpx2 with red dot. I like it as my EDC. I have "smoothed " the face of the polymer trigger as it had a ridge that hurt my trigger finger when firing. I wish the would grove the trigger guard to help stabilize the grip when firing. I like how it feels and looks, also easy to do conceal carry.
Great video as always Brother.. And I appreciate your time in making these videos.. And i wrote before on the Sccy .. I love my CPX 2,, it's been my EDC for quite a while now. Thanks again Brother , Stay Safe and Stay Strapped.🦅🇺🇸🦅
Always carried striker fired. Never condition 1!! I decided that I wanted a round in the chamber but NO PRESSURE on the firing pin, striker or what ever else there is as far conditions of readiness! For me the SCCY is like carrying a 10 round wheel gun!!
I’m seeing a lot of “not used for long range”, for a CC pistol it seems to do its job perfectly fine at the range needed for CC. If anything hitting at longer ranges is but a bonus
Adam I would like to see a comparison video on the following affordable full size 9mm pistols, FNH 9 mm Handgun Semi-Auto Taurus G3 T.O.R.O 9mm Tisas Zigana PX-9 9mm Pistol Stoeger STR-9 9mm Striker-Fired Pistol Clay, milk jug, and paper plate videos in addition. Thank you so very much...
Very good results for moderate priced pistols. Good deliberate fire. Wish you would have hosed down with a full clip with each. Crazing fire might be needed sometime to keep their heads down!
Have 2 cpx 2s installed picatinny rail lasers didn’t like how the stock lasers looked. I’d live to see some aftermarket parts like barrels and slides😥 purchased the red short stroke trigger
I have a CPX1 with Iron Sights for my EDC. 10 yards is about all I worry over, but it is nice to go further. I'm happy with it. I'm not shooting competition.
I think i paid $215 for mine in 2015 . However, to those who say you just spend more and get X, I didn't buy it because of the price, i can afford to buy whaterver I desire. I bought it because I liked the look of it and it was American made. And I have not been disapointed. I prefer to carry da/sa or dao, so the sccy still fits right into my edc. Sccy has great customer service.
You do not know how happy I am to see you string those rounds LMAO. I always kick myself when I shoot a group like that. And I know you're a better shot than me.
We have the cpx 2 for the wife. She hates it so ingot her a walther. Its thick and the trigger is heavy. Is the new on thiner to hold and the trigger better?
Get one with a red dot, because SCCY is gonna make a cover plate available, the second quarter of 2022! That will make it a lot more versatile, if, at times, you wanna carry it in the front pocket... another great thing about this pistol, only 15oz empty.
I have carried a SCCY CPX-2 every day for the last 6 years as part of my EDC. I have had absolutely zero issues with it.
I love mine, It's a great little gun.
Good thing you havent had to use it to save your life. You may have been let down at the wrong time.
Terry Brown. I recently purchased 2 spare magazines for it. I started having feeding issues with it. I knew it was the magazines and not the gun but I lost confidence in it and have replaced/upgraded the SCCY.
Do you have one in the chamber or no ? Because im think about getting one , let Me know sir

Same here. I work at a gun store. And yes, the colored ones are popular with women.
@@dobiedude7479 lol I bought the blue one for my lady
They have those colors pretty much just for that reason. Attraction to colorful shiny things is just 1 of 22 things women and fish have in common.

WTW! You’ve always liked SCCY firearms, the price is well worth the firearm a cpl friends of mine love them.. great video
I to carry CPX2 DAILY.. got two more still in the box..
I love my sccy cpx-1 I can hit the center of a target at 10-15yrds all day long I've upgraded the factory sights to fiber optic and upgraded the trigger with a short stroke dark sky kit along with aftermarket grip I use 115g sig v-crown I've noticed the sccy's don't like the heavier grain
i run horandy xtp 147 grain subsonic in mine no problem
Double action is what you want on a carry gun! That's what I have on my carry guns! Seems like they run great! I would carry them!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
This just shows why it is that i have so much respect for you & your channel WHO TEE WHO. I have a Sccy but of never shot it lol loved the video man
He is honest and NOT a gun snob like most of the nay Sayers.
That first shot hitting top noggin was so impressive
Interesting little pistol for the money. I’ve thought about picking one up just to get used to a red dot on a pistol to see if I like it. Thanks for sharing!
My SCCY CPX1 is my EDC gun. Never failed to go bang for me.
Took my CC class with my cpx2 passed top of my class was wierd but got used to it and after a few they are second nature
I like em, they are snappy as their so light. but that price is awesome. Trigger aint so bad if you got some revolver time under your belt.
My CPX 2 is my EDC for about 4 years now
Looking forward to this one.
Nice video buddy🔫💯‼️
RELIABILITY is job 1 in a defensive pistol ! Ive really been thinking of buying one since my Glock 17 is getting a bit heavy for my 60 year old hip , if i can get a softball size group at 7 yards WITHOUT a stovepipe im buying . Good video !
I love mine never any trouble at all
I have a sccy cpx2 with red dot. I like it as my EDC. I have "smoothed " the face of the polymer trigger as it had a ridge that hurt my trigger finger when firing. I wish the would grove the trigger guard to help stabilize the grip when firing. I like how it feels and looks, also easy to do conceal carry.
I put a spring kit in my older CPX2. It helped a lot. Got a bad mag and Emailed company info. They had a new mag to me in 3 days.
Great video as always Brother.. And I appreciate your time in making these videos.. And i wrote before on the Sccy .. I love my CPX 2,, it's been my EDC for quite a while now. Thanks again Brother , Stay Safe and Stay Strapped.🦅🇺🇸🦅
Appreciate you watching!
Also, just picked up the SCCY cpx 2, I’ll come back tomorrow and let you know how it did as a first time gun owner (pistol wise)
Adam I would like to see a comparison video on the following affordable full size 9mm pistols,
FNH 9 mm Handgun Semi-Auto
Taurus G3 T.O.R.O 9mm
Tisas Zigana PX-9 9mm Pistol
Stoeger STR-9 9mm Striker-Fired Pistol
Clay, milk jug, and paper plate videos in addition.
Thank you so very much...
I really like the way the SCCY pistols look, especially with those red dots. How do you think they compare to the Ruger LC9?
Not really the same. Lc9 is a lot smaller
Sweet lil pistols buddy hope u are well
Very good results for moderate priced pistols. Good deliberate fire. Wish you would have hosed down with a full clip with each. Crazing fire might be needed sometime to keep their heads down!
A good shooter, had 1 a while back, it's a 11rd. double action revolver, I kid but they hit what you aim at! WtW can I get one for under $350 or less?
Have 2 cpx 2s installed picatinny rail lasers didn’t like how the stock lasers looked. I’d live to see some aftermarket parts like barrels and slides😥 purchased the red short stroke trigger
Nice shooting but I’ll keep my G2C.
I like the DVD 1, it groups better and has a nicer trigger for me.
Thanks for the info my friend
I love Sccy firearms I only wish I could shoot as good as you.
You can! Just gotta focus on the trigger brake
I have a CPX1 with Iron Sights for my EDC. 10 yards is about all I worry over, but it is nice to go further. I'm happy with it. I'm not shooting competition.
Did you know that the Sccy has a transferable lifetime warranty? Fact!
I have three of them and have never had an issue with any of them.
Seems like good pistols. And for a retail of $339, they're a good deal.
I have the CPX2, decent gun. Trigger does not bother me at all . Good shooting !
Definitely not a bad little pistol, I just picked up a Glock 20 in 10mm now that I’m finally in a free state
Fixin to pickup the dvg1 I don’t really care for red dots on handguns. This firearm will likely be part of my EDC rotation
I just bought the SCCY cpx 2 and would really like to make the trigger lighter.
For big hands that’s awesome shooting. I have big hands to my G2 is small in my hands.
As long as the price is down then they will stay commonly available. Currently checking out to see if I want to invest in a PSA Dagger.
I dig it. Biggest thing for me is NO JAMS. Sweet little set up.
I have a CPX I picked up new for under $200 The fat grip and heavy trigger work well with my big hands.
I have 2 Ruger ec9 s and a Sccy cpx2 I prefer the Sccy as my cc gun so far no issue except with a magazine
That shirt is the real star of the show! As always, awesome shootin', sir!
👍👍💥💥💥
You do not know how happy I am to see you string those rounds LMAO. I always kick myself when I shoot a group like that. And I know you're a better shot than me.
It's interesting that you and Sootch00 just both put a video on the SCCY.
Saw that. I don't know the guy 🤷♂️. Must be trying to copy me 😆
We have the cpx 2 for the wife.
That s some darn good shooting. !!!
Always wondered about them but plan on getting one Good Video WTW!
I heard they make them in strike a fire now which is a little bit better
Yep, it's DVG-1 model that he was shooting with the flat trigger.
