New Wheel Seal from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/TKAX...
This video shows you how to install a rear wheel seal on your 2008-2010 Ford F-250. Wheel seals are a barrier between the axle and the axle tube to prevent differential or transmission fluid from leaking out of solid axle configurations. Replacing a leaky seal will prevent damage and gear wear caused by low fluid levels.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty
    2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty
    2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Ok, so when you removed the seal, there was a thin metal piece, on top of the bearings, you didn’t show it when you cleaned the top of the ridge. Then it was there again at the install. (Time stamp 8:09 and 8:26)
What is it? Is it part of the bearings because it’s not part of a new bearing from my parts store, nor was it part of the new seal.
I’m asking because it’s basically 4 pieces and I lost one and I’m not sure what to do about it. It had broken and caused damage to the seal, and was grinding down inside. I don’t want it in there if it’s not required and want to replace it, if it is.
