- Fantasy 7 Rebirth Phoenix Fight - This summon boss is a tough battle on full might, but worry not because there are 2 ways to beat Phoenix in Chadley's Combat Simulator.
Firstly, you need to unlock this battle by completing the assignments around Junon. Once you have, go and speak to Chadley and he will offer you this fight.
This video shows you 2 ways to beat Phoenix on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The first method is an offensive approach where you kill it before it casts Rebirth. The second is a defensive approach where you survive the cast and then beat it.

Note: This fight was for the Junon Demo which had restrictions on the materia available and you couldn't swap weapons or armour.

Heh, yeah it's a different ball game compared to Titan (once you've learnt the encounter anyway)!
Just a tip, have an eye on phoenix all the time, it has a tendency to attack off screen
Just a quick point. The Bomb isn’t actually weak to ice. It’s weird because it’s clearly fire based like Phoenix but for whatever reason doesn’t have an elemental weakness.

Thanks for the guide! I was able to beat Phoenix with one notch down in difficulty using Cloud, Aerith, and Red XIII, but Full Might is still way harder and I was struggling. I’ll be sure to try these strategies next time.
Congrats! Even though the boss has level sync, I'm pretty sure it'll get easier as more material is unlocked and levelled. Gonna retry Titan on full might later!
The properties of this fight have changed since the actual release of the game.
I have defeated the 1st three enemies Phoenix has spawned, have NOT brought him even close to half hit points and Phoenix has summoned another trio.
Also magnify materia is nowhere to be found as of yet for me.
Yes I read that this vid was made via the demo. And yes I realize that sometime somewhere in the game you WILL get the magnify materia.
Yeah I'm with you there, just in Junon myself and no magnify yet. I haven't had another bash at Phoenix since the full game, hoping to in the next couple of days.

Good video. I got lucky and beat this on my second try not really knowing wtf was happening. I had the same team as you. We somehow tanked the FoR hit with slivers of HP. Thankfully Aerith had Limit, I full healed everyone, and then on next stagger unleashed Cloud and Tifa's Limits. GG. Cool fight but yeah the Assess info is pretty much useless.

this is the best strat. the unbridled strength, and focused thrust with tifas ability drives him into stagger. then they always have both their limits with synergies to finish him off. I did that and he still somehow survived with a sliver of health so i quickly attacked because he was casting flames of rebirth n got him. lol
Those flames of rebirth get the heart going don't they?!? 😅 Gratz though!
As soon as he hits 50 he unleashes the attack. Doesn’t matter if he’s getting up from stagger or not. You have to get lucky with the timing of everything. You basically have no choice but to kill him before he uses it once. It’s frickin tough lol.
Edit: not five minutes after posting I survived the rebirth attack and finished him off with only Tifa fainted. Cloud and Aerith came in clutch with the synergy 😂

Awesome that you can do two limit breaks at the same time. Unless I missed this on Remake 😅

Im sure you can if youd get both limit gauges up but while i was playing remake it was hard enough to get one limit gauge up lmaooo
@@reydez84 I did notice on the Junon demo it was easier to build it up so maybe they tweaked it after Remake 👍🏻
Guy basically had the same script as Bahamut in Remake: don't get him to half life or he'll make it annoying lol
Took me 7 tries because I didn't really manage my ATB well. I ended up with a dead Cloud and Tifa flying around using her synergy skill with Aerith. When his life is at around 15% he doesn't summon anymore and he doesn't really use the big flame attacks if you stay in the air, so I just grinded it until he cast Empowering Flame which I interrupted, and he got into a 3rd stagger and died.
Yeah you're right, it is very similar. I'm just replaying through Remake now ready for Thursday. I've some people absolutely smash Phoenix in the first stagger, I keep getting so close but then Rebirth hits and it's GG :(
It is so hard!!! My guys just immediately die at level 24
I felt like the combat was much easier to deal with in ff16
There is a lot to remember on Rebirth and quite a bit of a learning curve. Have you tried lowering the might level just to learn the encounter better?
I used Yuffie instead of Aerith as she can use all the elements without spending MP

Yeah sorry about that, I did pin a comment at the top. This was recorded with the release of the playable demo which included Junon and this boss, it also included some materia that you can't get until later in the game.
Why do you have Magnify equipped on Aerith linked to nothing else?
I'd been trying different setups, especially between level boost + Ice and magnify + healing. I just let magnify in there as if already got the core config of materia covered between the other party members. You're right though, I could have probably made better use of it somewhere else but since I was going for as much offense as possible, it didn't matter so much :)
Well Mr. Perfect... he does this Strengthening Thing AFTER he does his Esper Attack... and yeah... hes difficult even at MAX Weakness....
Mr Perfect? Wasn't he a wrestler from the 80's? 😉 As for Phoenix, just keep learning the encounter, you'll get there.

I got all the intel and tried fighting the weakest one and I can’t even hit it for more than 10 damage even using its weakness?…
Is this on the demo or the full game? I haven't unlocked Phoenix just yet on the full game so yet to see how different it is with materia etc.

Nah, just knock it down a level or two, it really doesn't matter, I don't think it's even part of any achievement.
Show the materia at the end of the battle ... you'll never make it
It's literally right after the battle.
I just need to express how bs this is. Offensive is literally not possible, if you dont kill him in the stagger he gets up immediately and does the stupid ultimate ability
