I have so much respect for people like Darren - clearly very passionate about his job and where he works. It was interesting to see around the cinema and learn its history. imo they should have more artefacts from the past and include a plaque next to it, like you'd get in a museum (I appreciate they may have already done this as this video isn't new lol!). I'd love to see around more old buildings like this

This is fascinating Tim, what a good idea, well done,! My dad was a projectionist at the Aquarium cinema and also the Regal at the top of regent road.this was in the 50s, maybe early 60s. My brothers and I went into the projectionist room to see him ,and to see how it all worked. So nostalgic. Thank you Tim

Tim what a brilliant video so interesting the history of the building and the cinema looks absolutely fantastic. Well done on being asked to do it and a big thanks to Darren. I think other establishments in Yarmouth and Norfolk should take note and use you as it would be an excellent boost for them, you should be an ambassador for the area. You even took the time to revisit to film the outside introduction when it was dry.

Literally the best video of yarmouth I have seen Tim just brilliant and what an exclusive! Looks great what arc have done as well. The stairs up to what used to be screen 2 and Is now screen 5 used to have movie posters all the wall up the walls to the entrance like in the back rooms. I remember the consesion stand before the doors as well. My favorite childhood memory is of queueing up those stairs waiting to get in to see ghostbusters! Hope the pleasure beach and britannia pier are watching so you can get behind the scenes access there as well! Brilliant video!

I remember visiting that cinema as a kid. Did one of the screens have a wooden sloping floor? I remember sitting at the back with a friend and a bag of peanut M&Ms. At a real quiet part of the film I dropped an M&M and it spent (what felt like 4 minutes) making its way, rather loudly to the stage, the whole screen turned around so I put the bag of M&Ms on my friends lap 😆

I used to do work in the building during the mid 90's and got chance to see quite a bit of the building, surprised you didn't go under the main stage where all the old trapdoor mechanisms are, also the old dressing rooms above the balcony area at the front were a proper time warp! From memory tight little stairways used to come down to either side of the main stage from the dressing room area.
