To think that scholars will dedicate their entire lives studying about the history of this place and this gentleman just summarised all that knowledge into a 30 min informative video, this is priceless. Thanks so much, really ❤
@@ShaneCarroll-y8o my point which you completely missed is that he summarised that knowledge for commoners like me, in a simple, visual and interactive way, and I'm being thankful for that
Thank you for making this - so wonderful to see such a concise history unfold visually. Please keep making these. I can’t wait to see what place you take us to next!
Excellent. Really. The gtaphics and historical presentation is superb. Even the BBC and various TV channels couldnt make anything REMOTELY this good. my congrats..
This is fantastic. I love your reconstruction animations, and very informative video. I have no doubt that it involved a huge amount of effort to make this. Congratulations!
I watch the 'walking tour London' on You tube almost every night. I was always interested in the Tower when there is a video, walking past it or crossing the Tower Bridge. This video answered a lot of questions.
Please make more videos like this, it is just AMAZING that we can see how the castles ACTUALLY were. Please make about more places like Versailles, Louvre, Windsor, Buckingham etc 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I should have seen your video before i visited the tower last 2 weeks. This is even more detailed by the map and exhibition at the tower. I will surely go back for another visit and take a look at each place mentioned in this video!
This video perfectly complemented our visit last month, and filled in numerous blanks in the tower history not covered during the tour. Superb video, thank you very much.
This has been great, I watched this as each part came out. I think youtube recommended this because I was trying to find timelapse videos like this about entire cities like London and Paris. Any idea what location you want to do next?
My husband and I watched this early this morning and absolutely loved it! Fantastic job! With England's rich history, I'm sure you've got many ideas of what to do next. I look forward to it! Subscribed.
23:53 great to hear a shout out to my old Corps, the Royal Engineers. I’d add that the work on William’s first defences, including the White Tower, was begun by his engineer, Bishop Gundolph, regarded as the first Royal Engineer… :)
These reconstruction videos are some of my favorites, like one of the pyramids and all the monuments reconstructed, thank for a very interesting look back in time.
This is such a fantastic idea that we will soon watch "Discovery/History Channel" run away with it and make amazing graphics (and money; probably including a shark in insane production budgets). Let me subscribe to you as a Norwegian delighted with your approach to sharing historical storytelling geographically.
I really enjoyed this, very well made. I subscribed. I still wonder why 1 of the cornertowers of the Tower is round while the other 3 are square, does anyone know the reason for this? I’d like to suggest the area Whitehall/ Parliament for an animation.
Anne Boleyn was not executed where you say in video - that area with current memorial is a Victorian guess-a-ment. Anne was executed in front of a large crowd in the open area between The White Tower and the modern crown jewels house.
I believe the Queens House wasn't built until 1540, four years after Anne Boleyn's execution so she never saw it. She was held in the Queens Lodgings, built by Henry which were in the private area over by the gardens which are now part of the New Armoury.
This video is fantastic. I never dreamed The Tower and grounds had so many comings and goings, modifications, etc. The modern structures behind it look threatening and monstrous, not to mention ugly imo. Thank you!
1533 A.D. Your video shows Anne Boleyn taken to the Queen's House. According to current research & this book she instead was taken to the Royal Apartments: In the Footsteps of Anne Boleyn - The Tower of London by Sarah Morris & Natalie Grueninger The Royal Apartments- From Thursday 29 May to Saturday 31 May 1533 and from Tuesday 2 May to Friday 19 May 1536, Anne was accommodated in the queen’s lodgings, part of the royal apartments, which were situated in the south-east corner of the Tower. She was not, as a Victorian myth later propagated, accommodated during her imprisonment in the Queen’s House.
“The UN has accused Britain of failing to protect the Palace of Westminster and Tower of London from skyscrapers and office blocks. The landmarks are among seven heritage sites around the country which cultural agency Unesco says are in danger of being suffocated by new developments.”
This video should be on permanent display in the Tower. Thank you for this highly impressive reconstruction.
Actual architectural models are more immersive

Well no shit, how do you think we were able to get it into a 30 minute video if we didnt have people who studied all their lives beforehand?

I like the detail of the river water turning from nice blue into disgusting brown over the years as well
This is AMAZING, Great job, Love it, give me more!!!
This was the highlight of my trip to London. It’s amazing to me that it’s still a functioning building after a 1000 years. It’s in great condition.
This was a really fun watch! I LOVED seeing the building going up and down over the ages, well done!!
Great video. The tower is in my opinion, the greatest attraction that London has to offer.
This is one of the most captivating and beautifully made videos I have ever seen. Thank you so much.
Excellent. Really. The gtaphics and historical presentation is superb. Even the BBC and various TV channels couldnt make anything REMOTELY this good. my congrats..
Exactly and at this level of detail
Of course they could. What a silly statement.
@@justinsmith4562 All of us "could" and don't--too much trouble, too much money, too much of need for scholarship. Plug in, Justin
This was INCREDIBLE! Please make more!
This is fantastic. I love your reconstruction animations, and very informative video. I have no doubt that it involved a huge amount of effort to make this. Congratulations!

Great video, really enjoyable!
I watch the 'walking tour London' on You tube almost every night. I was always interested in the Tower when there is a video, walking past it or crossing the Tower Bridge. This video answered a lot of questions.

London just could not leave its castle alone 😢

That was amazing, I really enjoyed it, thank you. Seeing London itself changing was fascinating too. I subscribed straight away! More please.

I've not visited the Tower yet but im definitely going to see it on my next visit to London 🏴

Please do the palace of Westminster next

Cool.
Such a shame so many medieval buildings were destroyed. Especially after the Great Fire
I think the guard house is a gift shop now.
This video is fantastic. I never dreamed The Tower and grounds had so many comings and goings, modifications, etc. The modern structures behind it look threatening and monstrous, not to mention ugly imo. Thank you!
The 1400s one was the best imo.
The best fortress is one that is so good that you don't ever have to use it.
1533 A.D. Your video shows Anne Boleyn taken to the Queen's House.
According to current research & this book she instead was taken to the Royal Apartments:

Great now turn this in to a playable video game! :)
Great and interesting video, but what does the in danger list mean? Why is building skyscrapers bad for the tower?
“The UN has accused Britain of failing to protect the Palace of Westminster and Tower of London from skyscrapers and office blocks.
The landmarks are among seven heritage sites around the country which cultural agency Unesco says are in danger of being suffocated by new developments.”
