The info provided in step 4 (bench support) is not good. If you measure 8" down from table legs, that would place the final seat height at 15" (8"+5.5+1.5"), which is pretty low and awkward. Final bench height should be around 17" for most people. I would measure down 10" from table legs. This Old House has a good picnic table build video that explains what I'm saying.

I think he’s wrong. With the 11 7/8 legs in the video it makes my measurement from the bottom of the leg almost exactly 11”. That puts seat height at approximately 18”.

So, shopping online at the local Home Depot location. Found an item but they did not have any in stock.
Asked if it could be ordered from another location for local pickup. Answer: "No. We don't do that anymore."
So, located same item at another location about 1 hour away. Was going to jump in the truck and make the drive but thought to call first and check inventory.
Good thing. After they searched about an hour, they called me back to say, "We can't locate any."
I said the inventory online indicates (xx) of those things.
She said inventory numbers are not reliable due to all the theft.
Not detaining thieves and prosecuting thieves, is costing the honest hard-working consumer, additional money for every item.
The honest folks are paying for the thievery.
Home Depot obviously does not care about loss prevention since they know they can recover the losses by hiking all the other prices in the store.
Feels like HD is giving its customers the middle finger. Same can be said for HD's blue signed competitor.

Word of advice. Make the legs a bit longer. Otherwise this turns out to be a picnic table for children.
