Made 6 farmhouse tables for my wedding last summer plus a coffee table/bench. Dimensions: 6' x 3'-4", Made them a tad shorter in length but used seven boards instead of six, wider to fit a large cutting board with a large piece of lamb, family style. Thank sir for this video, I saved thousands of dollars in renting fees for a 3 day weekend wedding. Took me about 4 weeks to make plus stain and seal while also preparing a wedding of 50 guests, everything made by ourselves. Five of the tables I sold to friends after the wedding, kept one plus the coffee/bench. Never crafted a table before in my life, lots of fun! Pictures here:
That is absolutely incredible. Thank you for letting me know. I checked out the Google drive and I really like the hand rustic chamfers on the boards. The color is great. You did a fantastic job. You should be commended for your work brother. Nice work
wow very cool
Awesome post! This is how we stay positive about our fellow man and doing good for others... You sir, rock.
Hi about to make tables and bench’s for my daughter’s wedding, can you send me the pictures and plans??
Installed these on a riding mower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxetgfkJxfdT_B2vGYP-uNTLaBbim9OKTD . They were sharp out of the box, although I've never liked blade edges that were coated...not quite as sharp as I personally want. Using my belt sander, I removed the coating from the cutting edges and refined the edge enough to shave with them. So far, after three runs, these blades are holding up as expected. Even after hitting a few fallen 1/2 inch or so branches, the edges are still sharp as heck. No edge dings, no warping, etc. As far as installing them, the cutouts were of the proper size and shape to fit my aging Craftsman mower. Very satisfied.
Finished our first attempt attempt
at a table following your video.
Thank you so much.

You have me inspired to what to build one and I am a woman but I think I could do it. I have a table that was built poorly and I stained the bottom white and the top a grey and the two tone looks awesome. Thanks for sharing and teaching!
Very helpful. I might do the same at a much smaller scale. Loved the simplicity, the wisdom, and the love put into this project. Best part: your cutie at the end - God continue to bless you and your fam!
Omg. I'm so *not* smart when it comes to building anything. Wasted so much time and hardware *thinking* the were sturdy. But couldn't figure it out without connecting boards. Thank you.
Hi there. A message from the U.K.: just made “your table” and it’s great. Many thanks for a super informative video. Only problem is the materials cost me £184 ($250 US). That’s why suppliers call the U.K. “treasure island”!
What size are the deck boards he uses???
The price of lumber is WAAAAYYYY up from the time that this video was originally made! It's not just the UK, it's everywhere
Yeah you can’t make this table at those prices anymore. You were a couple years too slow on your build. And I’m right behind you. I don’t want to use my glass table again this year but the prices 👀 🙅🏽♀️😩
Right on man. I wish we are neighbors I do stuff like this every weekend.
We built the table with this video and it turned out great! We went 7 boards wide.
Mate, can't a single word about your creations until I say what an amicable approach you present. You do have a natural gift. Be thankful you don't live next door to me because I'm the guy that would make your creations rubbish. BUT, you are so encouraging that I'm proud of the rubbish I make. I hope you never quit this offering. Your daughter is going to grow up and squeeze you until you cry with joy. Nicely done Mate.
Absolutely AMAZING and a pleasure to watch/learn! Thanks for all the valuable information. Your daughter is precious and very proud of her dad!
I'm slowly learning to build and I love it. It feels so good to be able to build something and look at it and say I did that.
That’s what it’s all about making something and leaving the earth with something that is better than you found it. Although nothing is forever you know but it’s such a good feeling to accomplish a nice project. Thanks for reaching out
I’d love to see a video on the benches too. That was simple to build. I love seeing these projects that I can use to teach my son without breaking the bank.
That’s a good idea bro I made those benches along time ago and did not send it. I think I may have to revisit. Thank you bro
I'd like to see benches being made too, also a cut list with some measurements would be real helpful.
Ive got a bunch of left over wood from having to repair my fence, this is probably the simplest jobs ive seen and will def give it a shot
You should.
Just made this table w scrap 6x6 legs. Not a woodworker or anything. Thanks for the video!
Love this table man, do you have something printed out with the exact dimensions you used and a cut list maybe?
Hold my beer!

I do have plans Foxhall made them for me
I’m behind getting them on the website
So last year our dog jumped up on our cheap patio table and destroyed everything but the glass top. I used your design to make a table out of the glass topper. Turned out fantastic!!!
Nice job as always! It will be awesome to have a plan or at least give the length of lumber to save some headache.
Love that self pocket hole screw driving without jig!
Awesome. I'm going to build this exact table. I might put epoxy resin on the top. Thanks for posting this video.
Im making this, this summer for my new landscaped garden, I'll save you a space Chris.
Well said. Build something and get it off your bucket list
Just finished building mine using red wood. Cost a bit more but gives the table a great vibrant look. Great DIY tutorial.
I built your table design this past weekend. Thanks for the video! Really happy how it turned out.
We just finished building this table, thank you for the inspiration! I couldn't tell from your video how long your table was but we made ours 10' and we love it. We're making two benches to match. I'm so happy that I found your video, it's exactly the style I wanted. Thank you for taking the time to put this online, we appreciate you :)
That is awesome thank you so much for letting me know. Mine is 8 feet long I used standard 8 foot deck boards. And we sit at it as often as we can as much as we can as long as we’re not dealing with this Florida heat. So glad yours turned out great and again thanks for checking it out
Got a link for benches? Or same as table? I also just did the table now debating benches...
@@davedawggy We made the benches identical to the table, except three deck boards wide and 17.5" legs. They're fantastic and so is the table. I'm so thankful for his video :)
Excellent job Chris , and thank you for sharing and showing the love to your family,, nice looking outdoor table!
I’ve done small wood work before, like window door framing, made some car audio boxes, etc. But this is the first time I will attempt to make anything like this and I’m excited, this video gives me the confidence to try it. Wish me luck
That’s awesome thank you!!
@@AGlimpseInside I did it and you made it so easy to follow, I basically had this video on all day while making it and followed you lead and it came out perfect, this was my first time, I wish I could post a photo of it, thank you.
Thanks for sharing your work. The table was a great build, who doesn't need one, right? But enjoying your work with your children is one of life's biggest blessings. May God continue to bless you, your family and your woodworking 👍🏾
Thank you so much I really appreciate it
Made a small one out of sleepers but it's a bit too low - Just wanted to see how you put one of these together and I think I can modify the measurements to make one for my patio. Got two lovely wooden benches there that need something to stop my beer from crashing to the floor! Thanks for showing us.
I really liked it and and appreciate how you showed the cost of everything great video
That’s what it’s all about. Being honest about things you know
Who gives this a thumbs down? You are a talented guy, that makes great videos & it’s obvious you’re a family man! God bless and keep doing what you’re doing. I’m off
to make a huge table now
Surprised you didn't stain and seal it. Such gorgeous work you've done. It would last more years. You've inspired me to replace a broken tabletop with a wood top. God bless!
With treated wood, you need to let the lumber dry before staining. In Midwest we typically wait anywhere from 3-6months to a year to let dry and then stain (Mainly that comment is from working with decks, not tables) :)
Great video . Built it in about three hours it came out great. 👍🏻
I teach Robotics/Tech Apps in Central Texas. Our middle school classes are watching your channel on Build It Fridays. While they are designing robots and graphic design projects, your videos (along with other maker videos) are going in the background. They love your videos. Sometimes I look up from grading and there are 4-8 students sitting in the floor in front of the screen just watching you build. Epic!!!
Just shared this with my wife. It got us all overjoyed it’s amazing to hear. Thank you for Sheri it really does mean a lot when comments like this role in. I really do appreciate it and I hope you guys continue to learn and grow and I can’t believe that we are a part of it it just means the world. Thank you so much
@@AGlimpseInside ...the cicada lamp was their favorite so far.
4:56 ....it's moments just like "this" that keep me coming back to your channel...it's your awesomely open personality and your passion for woodworking that shines through. Keep up the great videos and please never lose your motivation. 🙂
Absolutely a brilliant build mate, that table looks fantastic and cheap as well $100 is roughly around £76 over here so even better. There will be some BBQ scoffing on that table and those benches, what a cracking match up that is. Well done mate.
Barry (ENG)
Thank you Barry! We can’t wait to put a coat of stain and seal it so we can start using it for outdoor parties and get-togethers. As always thanks for reaching out my man
Man, remember when lumber wasn't expensive? Great video!
It's on its way back down! I just built a kitchen table 8'x4' for a little over $100 finish and everything!
Thanks for this video! Gorgeous table. I wanna build a rustic one for my new place. I have no skills or experience, and only a few basic tools, but with your video as a guide, I'm confident I can do it!
Buddy, you are s great father and a great carpenter.
Your table is gorgeous.
Thank you so much
I'm making this! Thanks for the super clear video!
Made this today. Never used those GRK screws before, they really speed things up.
Yes they do! That’s awesome
Chris, you killed it brother....thank you for sharing.
good video and you're right - it's all about the family. enjoy it as they grow up way too fast
Great table ., I’m building one just like you showed this weekend !!
where i come from more like 300 just high prices here but a good build all the same i like it simple and solid
Wow you are good with those saws. That table looks great. Your wife must be one happy wife. Men that have this desire and talent? Are the best!!
Nice build. Gonna build it. Thanks for the video and positive attitude. Appreciated.
Great project! I'd love to see a detailed materials list and dimensions.
yeah wouldn't everyone??
That’s what I’d like something to go by.
Nice dinning table for a family bullfight eating. Or even with friends, watching from the Philippines.
You made it look simple. Been looking for a cheap but durable table. You nailed my budget.
Thanks for sharing
Awesome I’m glad I was able to help. Thanks for watching
very easy to follow technique. like the tip on "angled screw"
Just made a variation on this table, but used thicker 2x10 boards from Douglas fir for the top. Great design; thank you!
You got it. Thank you so much for letting me know and I’m sure your table last years is longer than mine LOL
Thanks for the video & for your positivity
Great solid table for years to come , ❤👌
Love the energy!! Just found your channel - keep building! Thanks
Awesome glad to have you here. Thanks so much
That's awesome !
You my friend are an inspiration to a present and new generation ! Thank you !!!
Thank you so much that really does mean a lot to me
Hi Chris. A really nice outdoor table there. I'm glad you're going to paint it as I would be concerned about sitting and eating a BBQ on a bare treated timber table. The chemicals they use to treat the timber would be a big concern for me. Otherwise....great job!
Geoff Sims oh most definitely. Those chemicals are no good. Thank you so much for the concern
That table will be around for a 100+ years! Nice job!
Great video, brother! And great choice on the Weber grill! Mine is 16 years old, and still fires up on the first click of the igniter every time! I might just need to build one of these tables soon!
Justin that’s so great to hear. Since my grill was only about 16 days old. Come on man I know you have the better part of an afternoon to do this plus I think you have some pretty elite pocket hole machinery don’t you
A Glimpse Inside Haha! Yeah, I’ve got a pretty sweet pocket hole set up! LOL!! Hopefully you will soon, too!
Great job. Your daughter is a beautiful star. Love your description and info.
Absolutely superb. Making something yourself and for your family........ Perfect. A really nice job too. 👍🏾 🇬🇧
What a great dad! Thank you.
Building one for my deck now. Thank you for the video. Good tip on the legs.
You got it. Enjoy the build it’s a fun one
Great build brother! Really like that lag screw method on the legs. Keep making vids!
Really appreciate how you did your project; your table is pretty awesome, very much the kind of table my wife asked me to build. Thanks for the inspiration
Hey man you're a cool dude! Nice build and cool pozzie attitude. You can tell you just love your life, your home, making shit and being a father. Cheers brother!
Attempting this build x2 , in hopes to seat at least 20people for Thanksgiving- 😬 I’m hosting! Yikes!! I wish I had your knowledge!!! Thanks for the tips! ❤️’d it!
love the way he talks about his kid. Feel good video to watch. Great job! got a new subscriber !
Nice win! Hope you get some great family time out there.
Tharemy Hopkins Oh yes that’s the goal for sure thank you so much brother
yes the table is awesome, but i really want to see the blue after a year outside... looking at a project outdoors with the same blue and would really like to see it after some use!
Truth be told I never did put the blue on it. We just kind of second-guessed it after testing it on a piece of lumber. So we just left it raw
Just watched the patio video right before this. Looks great and the table came out awesome too!
Thanks so much I appreciate it Chris
I bet your wife loves you.🤠 You are so creative !!
Dude!!! This is a great little project for a sunny 🌞 day.
Truly is. You can do it in less than one day
Did you say cobalt blue stain? Did you ever post a video of what THAT looks like? Sounds amazing...
Excellent table
Great video Man ,,,Thank you so much!! I will start this tomorrow !
Excelent ! pls list your power tools I think you did the best choices ...
Awesome video Chris. Paver patio looks great. My wife runs a hardscape company so I have a tendency to notice pavers😂. Table looks great, gives me a few ideas for our backyard set up.
Thanks Patrick! So glad this started the ideas flowing! Hope all is well man!!
Absolutely man. I'm curious to see the table in cobalt blue...sounds interesting
Patrick Burnett I’ll post an update in IG. Thanks again
Wow! Talk about timing! This video just popped up in my feed as I was about to start building almost exactly the same table on a similar budget without a real plan. Thanks for showing that it can be done, and done nicely!
That’s awesome Corey. So glad you found it. Thanks for letting me know and best of luck on your table, they sure are fun to make
Great table. And such enthusiasm...!
Thank you Frans! I appreciate the kind words
Deeply grateful for a great idea, and a very helpful video to help me make it happen. Mine turned out wonderfully! Thank you so much for your help. I learned so many new tricks doing this project.
What a cool table. This is much better then when you buy it! Great build man!
You know it brother. So satisfying
@@AGlimpseInside It sure is my friend! I'm planning to make a table too. It is so much fun to build this yourself
Best video ever ! Is there a cut list somewhere?
I’m horrible about making plans. I am going to start this year however I don’t have them for this table yet
Sub hundred dolla table in a day! Well done man! Love the joinery methods!
Thank you Casey. Always great to hear from your brother and I appreciate your kind words my man
I love your videos. Great job. Looking forward to the next one.
Man that’s awesome. Thank you so much I appreciate it
Hell yea loved the build gunna try this out!!!
Awesome table man. Don't need anything that big but really thinking of a similar idea shrunken down to use as a grill prep table. Thanks for posting.
You should post a pic once you add the stain to the table. I’m interested in seeing how the blue looks
Excellent job my friend! I really love your table!
I will do it this summer! 👌
Oh man that's a good looking table! I'm going to try to build this :-) thank you for this video!
Great video, thank you! What kinds of deck boards did you use?
Nice job. Thank you.
Superb table, and a type I've been wanting to build for our back yard. Great ideas on the finishing screws and leg mounting. On the pressure treated wood, I've always heard to not use that in an application like a picnic table where food would be laid on the chemically-saturated wood, and the tags stapled to PT lumber always say to wear gloves. So maybe a coat of UV-resistant polyurethane or similar treatment may be in order?
I suppose I knew we would always be using plates and what not. I know there’s some inherent dangers of pressure-treated wood but as long as you’re careful I think you should be fine. Again thanks for letting everybody know I appreciate it
@@AGlimpseInside new pressure treated is pretty safe it is not like the old stuff
Thanks mate for this video, it is really helpful!! I just wonder how you calculate the length of your screws so they don’t cross over the table tops. Thanks for the help!!
SUBBED!!! This was an awesome show. I'm ripping up an old deck and now I know what to do with the wood!
Awesome thanks for being here that’s a great idea as well
Great outdoor table. Thank you for sharing
Very Nice, dude you got skill.
nice work man...also, love your attitude!
