The reason I mentioned the pay levels is as a company driver working for a teamster company in the late 70s I made almost 80 grand a year plus dam good benefits. Then they deregulated and those companies went broke. My last job as a driver I made 63 grand for 10,000 more miles for the year and poor benefits which I had to pay half for.
So after 42 years and around 6 million miles I packed it in. In those years I got 8 tickets and 1 wreck in which I got charged even thou the on coming were in my lane in a snow storm, yes I'm still pissed that I was the one 1 charged.
To tell the truth, what they call truck drivers today scares the crap out of me.

If you're worried about blowback, instead of calling 9ll, call the State police, or Highway Patrol and ask to speak to a detective. As emergency calls are recorded and publicly available upon request. Report ALL human trafficking!!! Also, keep updated on all Amber Alerts/Silver Alerts in your area and keep your eyes peeled. I blame brokers for this. Charging shippers $5-6 thousand for a load, but only paying owner operators $1-2 thousand. The brokers have very little overhead, but the OO have to pay for fuel, maintenance, insurance, ect. When a broker is pocketing 60% or more, I feel like that in itself is a form of human trafficking of truck drivers.

I saw in my driver side mirror that the border patrol agent running after me waving for me to stop and then I saw a flash of movement in my right mirror. And then saw the border patrol agent jump on my catwalk and try to climb up on top of my cab. Apparently someone had been up on the roof of my truck where nobody really inspects up under the cowling around the Qualcomm antenna area. So his McDonald's bag and a soda cup on top of my truck. When asked if I stopped anywhere I told him that I had stopped for fuel in Laredo after picking up the load in my terminal. It takes a brave somebody or a desperate somebody to ride on top of a big rig going 65 miles an hour or faster.

The trucking industry is currently facing a number of challenges, including high fuel prices, an oversupply of inexperienced dispatchers, and double brokerage issues. While truckers may not be able to control these market conditions, they can control the quality of the dispatchers they work with. It is important for truckers to take the time to carefully interview and select dispatchers, rather than accepting loads from the first dispatcher who contacts them. A basic FAQ for Owner Operators to use when interviewing dispatchers will be available on my channel in a few days, to help guide truckers in making informed decisions. Stay strong truckers, we all depend on you.

What's does the dispatcher have to do with this scenario?
This was the driver decision an O/O took a load that's not a load. In this case no load just a 30k pound Bobtail.
But preach on, let's go with quality of drivers, quality of the road, quality of food at truck stops, transparency from shipper to broker to trucker.

I was in Iowa, getting inspected. The DOT officer wanted to inspect the inside of my cab. I told him he could inspect where I work, but not where I sleep. I never let anyone in my sleeper is what I told the officer. He asked me again, if I give him permission to inspect my truck, and again I told him that he could check where I work, but not where I sleep. That's my private space and no one goes back there. Again he loudly asked me for permission and I refused to allow him in my truck. Unless the laws have changed, an officer needs permission or probable cause to inspect the inside of your truck.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Guess what? LEO's don't need your permission to search your truck at a weigh station or inspection checkpoint - you gave implied consent to search by accepting a CDL. Back in the late 70's one of the supermarket drivers got caught hauling people from the San Ysidro border to Los Angeles. He had already pocketed over a half million dollars as he had been doing this for years. He got caught by the sniffing dogs at the truck scales/border patrol checkpoint in San Onofre. I was offered 150 a head to bring people to L.A to work in the packing houses. Never did it but I knew others who did. The supermarket driver got 6 years in prison and served less than 3. I crossed the border patrol checkpoint dozens of times. The only time I got pulled into secondary was when the dog alerted on the rental tractor I was driving. There's a huge demand for laborers in the food processing warehouses. L.A. had a program in which the employers would get reimbursed if they hired kids from the inner city. Problem was, no kids wanted to work. So, they hired illegals. Saw a lot of it back in the day.

He seemed ok but he asked if I could transfer his load, which was just 1 pallet, into my truck, and have him come with me to deliver it. He said that he could give me 6 grand when we got to the destination. I already knew in my mind that I wasnt going to do it, because Im a company driver and I can't just decide where I want to go. I asked what the load was and he told me that he wasn't allowed to know. I asked of he wanted me to call a tow truck or state police or anything, he then started going on about how I need to get out of there before the police show up, because he "didnt want to cause a scene" in his words. I immediately was sketched out and got in my truck and left. I reported the truck to the West Virginia state police and I dont know anything that happened after that.

They must lay them across one another in a pile.

Also driver knew what he was getting into and ignorant for even trying this. He came clean hoping they would take it easy on him but that didn't happen .

Dumbass gave consent to have the officer get into the truck. Doubt the officer had any PC. no matter who's in your sleeper, the sleeper is not part of the inspection and requires PC and warrant to enter that part since that's considered your dwelling.
If you are going to do this, better make sure to have your truck in outstanding condition with no problems.

    • @AnonymousTbag
      @AnonymousTbag Год назад

@abrackston BP has PC but not weigh stations. However, if you're an owner op, you don't need to disclose passengers in the truck. But a company driver will have to verify if their company authorized passengers.
Besides, there's cheap easy ways to hide body heat. Anti thermal panels or even clothing.
Sounds out of the way to do all that but some people are desperate.
Maybe of our government pulls their head out of their asses and send all of our troops into Mexico and f up the corrupt government and cartels, people would be happier in Mexico. But the US GOV won't because that's a loss of revenue with confiscating drugs and money.
