Excellent video. My brother-in-law developed tracheal cancer because of this condition. He took loads of antacids for 20 years to fight his acid reflux, and this habit actually caused the cancer. The surgery was devastating. He became a human science project. He survived, but the cost was immense. He needed this info from Dr Berg, who is doing more good with his You Tube channel than most doctors do in their entire careers. Thanks, doc!

I suffered from GERD for over 25 years when I went through a divorce and I've been on acid reflux medication for that long. Last July 2018 I started to watch Dr Berg and started IF then OMAD and have lost 83 pounds so far. I was still on Nexium and was afraid to try acv; but when Dr Berg said to try it and if your stomach hurts that means you have an ulcer I decided to give it a try. I started with one tablespoon of avc in 8oz of water in the morning in the first week and progress to 2 tablespoon of avc in the morning , after my noon omad meal and before bedtime. I haven't taken any acid reflux medication in six weeks and my digestion is so much better. Thank you so much Dr Berg for the great free service you're doing for this community.

My sister-in-law, now 70 years old, began gobbling Tums as a youngster. Baking soda was used, as well. When 'the purple pill' became a thing, she took that, too. She STILL suffers! Many years ago, I read that MOST cases of these conditions were related to too little stomach acid, NOT too much. Doctors simply don't test a patient's stomach acid levels before prescribing medications. Believe me, I tried to tell her these things, to no avail. I keep saying that I'm giving up on trying to help people. Unfortunately, I tend to keep opening my mouth and am rebuked for my efforts. Thankfully, I do have a few like minded friends that I can safely share these topics with. Of course, there are many people here on this channel that I feel free to discuss these things with. I'm VERY grateful for that!! May God bless you all for wanting to know the truth and sharing your nuggets of knowledge with the rest of us! MANY thanks to Dr. Berg for helping SO many of us, as well!!!

Have been placed on PPI's , which I do NOT want to take long term for obvious reasons. I had been giving myself Apple Cider Vinegar daily, but seemed to develop a sour stomach from it after a couple of months, so I stopped it. That is when things actually became worse! to the point where one night I had to go to ER with the severe pain. Your points are well taken. I will try going back on ACV at a lower dose for a while to see how I do. I do want to make sure the esophagitis is settled though as ACV will burn a raw esophagus. Thanks you for your presentation.

Another question, you said sea salt contains the needed iodine, yet I don't believe sea salt has iodine, only table salt is fortified with it. Looking forward to your reply :)

Dr. Berg, I don't know if you will answer but I will try it anyway. My gastro doctor told me that I have an acid reflux. The only symptom I have is bubbling stomach, that's it. Never had any heartburn. I had endoscopy, nothing was found. According to my ENT doctor, it caused thyroid nodule so he prescribed omeprazol, I took it for 3 month, nodule was gone and my gastro doctor had confirm omeprazol which I take for nearly a year. Bubbling went down but not completely, still does it and it seems not getting better. I did have hpilory bacteria at some point 4-5 years ago but was treated from it. I am not on any specific diet, just don't eat a lot, no carbs or very little, not much sugar intake, not smoking(vaping). This thing doesn't bother me that much but I hate to have something not right for a long time, never good and my gastro doctor doesn't seem worry that much. I was diagnosed with GERD 20 years ago. Tried meds on and off with no real relief. Was recently taking tums every night to be able to lay down to sleep. Had a lot of reflux during the day. Started lemon and ACV water 7 weeks ago and the reflux is 98% gone. I mostly notice it after I have carbs, and even then it’s so minor I hardly notice it. I also started doing intermittent fasting (not great at it yet but do get around 14 hours of fasting each day) and eating more keto meals. I don’t do full keto, but the changes in most of my eating has greatly improved so many things. Drinking the ACV in the water was rough at first because I hate the smell, but now I hardly notice it and actually crave the drink. Dr. Berg is my hero ♥️♥️

Should I take betaine and apple cider vinegar longer? (2 months??or more) Will removing the gallbladder help? What should I focus on first? I had acid reflux. it started 25 years ago. Before I took the meds that was offered, I did a study. I found that acid reflux began with the automobile. With the automobile came the cafe along the road. The cafe didn't want the consumer to sit waiting, so they began bringing the salad and drinks first. Putting salad and drinks in the belly before the protein caused the stomach acid to be diluted so that the protein could not be broken down when it was placed into the stomach last. Heartburn. By ending all fluids and carbs before protein, I lost all heartburn instantly. I have now the need to end fructose intake for other reasons, but to end my heartburn I did not change the fructose intake. Sugar is half sucrose and fructose. Don't let cafes ruin your health.

My father and paternal grandmother both had GERD. Neither smoked, my dad particulary was fit and kept the smae weight all his life. He was still plastering ceilings in his mid-70's. I remember him having white chalky line around his lips as he constantly chewed antacid tablets because of his problem. Both dad and grandma died of stomach/liver cancer. A few years ago I developed Gerd. Again, not over-weight and not a smoker. So I concluded it was down to genetic disposition towards it. i knew I had to do something about it the inflammation and certainly didn't want to take drugs. (i was mindful that dad's chalky tablets covered up and didn't cure the problem.)
So I looked at diet. My dad struggled with some foods and so that was the clue. I researched Keto and low carb. I didn't go full Keto but I drastically cut carbs (wheat was a major problem) but the number one cause of the inflammation was seed oils and margarine. I switched to all good fats like butter and coconut oil and olive oil. I cured my reflux. Just occasionally it comes back and that is entirely due to me eating something I didn't cook myself which has seed oil involved. Reassuring in a way because it proves I have the right culprit.

The symptoms I felt seemed to have started after my cholecystectomy, so I grabbed some of your gallbladder formula. It didn’t seem to help so I stopped using it in the moment.
I was on the freeway and suddenly felt anxious. I didn’t and still don’t feel right. Every time I use the restroom, I burn below. I’m even occasionally bleeding.
As of a week ago, I have the diagnosis I mentioned above and have been put on pantoprazole. I can’t find my gallbladder formula yet, but when I do, I’m hoping this was all just my body not having enough bile to neutralize the acid from my stomach.
The GI said there’s no H. Pylori anywhere, and that many of my symptoms could have been caused by stress.

The doctor said it was caused by acid reflux, but I told I told him no I don't have acid reflux, to which her replied it was silent acid reflux. Real thing apparently. Anyway they have loaded me down with acid blockers etc but after researching the medications I am not comfortable taking teem. I am going to give tis a serious try and hope it works for me.

Just a thought, not a diagnosis as I am not a doctor. I find that eating raw Ginger with meals (sometimes soaked in little bit of lemon juice) reduces heartburn post meals. Diff things work for diff ppl. For symptom management (not root cause) u may chew a teaspoon of fennel seeds post meals. Really helps me. If my back is not strait up, or I bend over say using a towel to dry myself off after showering, I get Gerd instantly. And I have not ate or drank anything beforehand after getting out of bed. The upper sphincter must be opening up when I bend over, or causing a kink allowing the valve to open. I’ll try the ACV and HCL Betaine again

I had pretty bad acid reflux on and of before and could feel bloated and burping quite much. I decreased the coffee a bit. But the major change I did was to NOT drink anything 1 hr before to 1 hr after eating. My thought was that if I do not dilute the stomach acid with any fluid it would do the best work with the food. It worked but it took a couple of weeks. Every now and then I can drink with the food if I want with no problem.
