@@michaelmurdock4607 why would you want to replace your? Is such an easy bike to live with. With the hydraulic valve adjustments and the clean quiet smooth belt drive it is a very easy to maintain and live with. I can see having more than one bike as I have more than one but I would never replace my my Sportster. I've had it 25 years and it has 400,000 trouble-free miles supremely dependable and reliable. I did wear out the stator at 250,000 but that is the only part in the engine itself that has been replaced everything else in the engine is all original. I also ride an airhead BMW as well as a classic triumph with a hardtail and magneto. So I have nothing against a 650 twin. I find all three to be different and how they right but they are all enjoyable

I must say that RE really nailed the styling for a cruiser. I am from the US and have ridden cruisers for 30 years and only just bought my 1st non-cruiser a few months ago. The Super Meteor silhouette is very close to a HD 883 sporty. Power and weight are also similar too. Great job.

Looks like a good bike. At 240kg is is just 20 kg less than my Triumph Speedmaster 2009 and it has plastic guards I think. My old Bullet Electra 2007 is holding up but the enamel on bare steel paint will need to be re-done soon to epoxy. I repainted the front guard on the Bullet years ago and it is uneven on the front. I left it uneven because it is hand made. I have been watching and waiting. I think this Super Meteor might be my next bike. You can never live with just one bike. Don't forget electronic rust proofing it is a thing.

Look forward to Friday report. Have spent some time at my local RE dealer and confirm your views. She is built like a tank. It is the most solid motorcycle by sight and feel i have managed get my eyes on for many a year. In my view it is very well balanced and easy to move about on. Sit on one alone and you feel the build quality and extra weight. I was torn of mind, against what present steed i would drop. Would it be the Scram or Int 650. So off i go today to argue prices, and what i will get to exchange my trusty Interceptor for the Meteor. (not enough room for a third bike in garage. Shame that)...

RE have done a good job of this bike, the fit & finish looks good, as do the welds, paint and general build quality. Styling isn't too bad for a first time model. The wheel spoke design isn't my cup of tea, the exhaust could have been improved in styling, but overall not bad. Good to see the welding improved over other models of the past.

A nice introduction to what looks like a really lovely and substantial machine. There isn't much not to like with this bike at all and what initial concerns there are, you cover well here. The lack of twin instrument clocks is the stand out thing for me but everything else appears very high quality, well finished and premium. It's really good that they have shielded the rear brake cylinder so neatly. The Scram and Himalayan also have an exposed rear brake cylinder but you have to pay extra to have a shield with those and it isn't nearly so neat and 'in keeping' as the one on this bike.

I still think Meteor 350 is not just a smaller and inferior version of SM 650 since it is superior/different in many aspects like for example it's ergonomics which are very unique. It's foot pegs are not totally in front but enough to provide the fun of cruiser without the negatives like relativly more stress on tail bone. It has higher ground clearance which gives peace of mind especially in country like India. The stock sound of SM 650 doesn't match it's looks too.

Excellent and unbiased introduction to the RE Super Meteor; thank you. It certainly looks like a substantially made motorcycle; the firm are attempting to show the world that they are capable of producing quality products. But as you say, it’s not without its flaws. Spot on about the RE logo on the clutch cover, it really looks cheap’n nasty! It’s not my type of bike (cruisers) and I’d suspect that the weight and moderate power from the engine may leave some buyers slightly disappointed with its performance - I look forward to your on road review.

Morning Stewart. I've already watched a couple of vids on the RE Super Metor. But your opening discription on your walk-around was possibly the most comprehensive. Nicely done sir! As I look at this bike my mind keeps straying as I try to imagine chrome crash bars front and rear. Leather throw-over saddle bags and possibly a couple of extra small LED rear lights? As for the weight a good thing on a moterways in windy conditions. I used to get blown all over the place holding 70mph on my old 650 Yamaha. That was the only fault if I could call that as a fault with that bike. Looking forward to seeing take that out for a ride with an old pair of scuffed up boots in the near future 😉😁. @@DennisMerwood-xk8wp Dennis, in the three and a half years of owning the XS650 Yamaha I put nearly 35,000 miles on the clock. And it let me down once with a flat tire! My mate had his bike stollen, so I sold the 650 to him. He had her for two more years before a builders lorry reversed over it! We were both gutted as we felt we'd lost an old mate. All the best.

I am itching to get to the dealer and see this bike when it get to the states. I ride an Indian Scout and our Indian dealer is the RE dealer here in Central Kentucky. My first bike was a BSA 650 Lightning & I have a real soft spot for this style bike. Everything I've seen by and about RE for the last 4 years since they got into the 650 twin niche has been quite impressive. I've said for a long time that this is a market segment that has been sorely neglected by bike manufacturers

Looks nice even though its not my cup of darjeeling ! The quality is superb apart from the forward controls , I think they could have done them a little more premium ! Love the handlebar switchgear and levers I hope they make them available to buy off the dark Interceptors ! 👍🏻

😢hi Stuart you managed to get hold of one then. As to the weight I had a GS and other bikes that I found too heavy to push about when off them or at difficult crossings etc. I am 182cm and 96kg so not a small person, but with this bike I finding it very light to move around off the bike, first time I can drive in or out of my garage as it’s access is on a slop, but it’s so nimble to ride I am very pleasantly surprised. As to the quality the paint finish is very thin so going to mark easily as you said, but my issues after a week owning one is ABS stayed on until I found the issue and the ECU engine light come on but I cannot find any issues to see why this is, this will get sorted on the first service so not going to worry there. Otherwise I say this is a first rate motorcycle which I am growing to love more each ride. Can’t wait for your next always truthful comments Stuart.

Thanks for the good presentation. A cruiser is a great bike for older guys (I´m 65) as it is easy to get a leg over and most of the weight is low down so the handling is not difficult when parking. That weight is also great to have on highways, for example when overtaking lorries in windy conditions weight is just what´s needed for a steady ride. That bike is a looker, I would definitely look back on it every time I parked it somewhere. It is on my shortlist for new bike, my Vulcan is from -95 (still in good condition though) and I am thinking of replacing it with something new and this could be it. In comparison it is down almost 20hp on power so that may be a consideration but when I get to ride one I will know if that is a problem. Also getting back to chain and sprockets after a long time with a shaft drive is maybe a thing to consider but almost all of my previous bikes were chain driven without ever being a problem so that adjustment is mostly mental. Ride safe, I´m already looking forward to what you have to say when you have tried it thoroughly.

Great vid as always Uncle Stu and I really like this bike. However, totally agree with your issues, especially the front footrest hangers and the master cylinder mount looks hideous. Great opportunity for MOTONE to CNC a nice setup and convert to a thumb brake. Also, retro fit an Interceptor clutch cover and cerakote to match

Nice video, the bike has a good proven engine and looks very solidly built in the Royal Enfield tradition. Informative review and I'm sure that this will be another success for RE and look forward to seeing them around.

Nice looking bike and I like that R.E. are branching out after improving their build quality. If you want a new bike like this at the price I'm sure you'll be happy, but forced to wonder if one wouldn't be better off buying a used Yamaha Bolt or a gently used Sportster.

One general thing that I think Yutube need to be told is that there is nowhere to post about.. I think it would be better for most people if the date the video was posted was claerly visible rather than an approximation of how long ago it was.
