After the brand used engine is in and you're ready to fill it with coolant remove one of the heater hoses (either at the block or firewall) fill the radiator until you see coolant come out that hose,Then reinstall it and finish filling the system. This will ensure the block gets filled up and all the air is out of the system.
Honestly guys best thing to do is get a Haynes or Chilton repair manual for whatever rig your working on or own. They have so much useful info and it can be alot quicker than hunting forums.

So happy to see the Civic back in videos and the motor swap coming along! The D16z6 is the motor I always wished I had in my old Civic I used to own. I had a 95 Civic DX coupe with a single cam non vtec D15b7, it was slower than molasses in January but it sure was a fun car. I put in two clutches and one transmission in that car and did some odds and ends to it. I also changed those same pesky spark plug tube seal thingymuhthings
Those 2 motor mount bolts on that side mount may have to be held from the bottom with a socket to loosen from the top. Also I don't know what motor mount you were saying looks fine and you will re use it but if it is the rear one REPLACE IT! those things are an absolute pain in the ass to replace with the motor in the car later on.
the civic is gonna be a really fun car to drive with that d16z6 it's enough power for that light car, and also alot more reliable than b series engines.
Just get harbor freight shit. Their hand tools are perfectly satisfactory for someone who isn't using them all day long as a professional. Just don't buy their electric stuff.

When I pulled a motor out of my EF, we just dropped it out the bottom. Stupid easy. Also yeah, I think a lot of people have said it, you might need a resistor box. You can get em out of DA tegs, and EF SIs, this is if you’re using OBD0 injectors Obd1 injectors don’t use a resistor box tho. This car gon be fun actually having over 100 horsepower.

Hey guys, don't worry about not knowing shit. Nobody does until they do. I'm an entry level tech at a dealer but I really don't know shit until I fuck it up once or twice and learn from it. Honestly making mistakes (non-life threatening ones) is the best way to learn. One thing to mention is to be careful where your hands are when pulling a motor. Good looks with the pry bar but gotta keep your hands away from the bottom of the motor unless you REALLY need to (looking at you Quentyn 3:39 and Kat 4:49) I know I'm being a safety nazi but I know too many guys that got their hand crush by engines while doing routine shit.
those round gasket i would change with the valve cover those are known to leak and don’t buy fel-Pro they suck and buy permatex ultra synthetic gasket maker for oil resistance and ohh if i’m missing anything out do a little research where to apply the permatex cuz im not sure about d series 😉 lol i know more about b series gsr swaps and type r but I think if you replace things and do research you’ll be fine enjoy the hatch dude 🙌🏼👏🏼👌🏼✌🏼
you might need to run a different ecu going from dual point fuel injection obd0 to mpfi obd0 or even a obd0 to obd1 jumper to run modern fuel injection
Ok so I have 91 crx si with d16a6 in it and I want to put a z6 in it what all do I have to change to make that work do I need new harness and axles shift linkage ecu etc it am I overthinking for a d series to d series swap

Yeah those rear mounts definitely take the most abuse.
Clean that header with rubbing alcohol before you start it, it will keep it looking nice
Put a small fan behind stove or pipe will kick heat in shop more.

The rear trans mount comes out with a swivel socket and an extension. Keep the extension right up against the firewall for the proper angle. EzPz
you can unbolt the front radiator support to get the motor in through the front instead of over the engine bay

Please use chains when pulling a motor I had a motor fall and almost kill me useing ratchet straps
One of the starter bolts goes all the way to the engine so you will need that one off the starter for one of the trans bolts
did they say where they got the motor? been looking for a d16z6 and had zero luck
think a subscriber or someone they knew had it laying around
Got to go through JDM engine warehouses or local Facebook pages too
Make sure you change your fuel lines to efi hoses or they will blow from the pressure
Be carefull with that old heater. Really easy to get CO2 intoxication when there is not enough air circulation from the outside.

Heating up stuck rusty boi nuts with a little propane torch will usually bust those nuts with a breaker bar or gun no problem
