You guys should think about entering the JCONCEPTS INS race at Adrenaline RC Raceway May 19-21 in the 17.5 2wd buggy class to show how well it does in a big national race series. You guys are growing the hobby/sport with this series keep it up!
this is how the sport grows when people realize they can race without spending thousands makes me wish we had a class like this nearby i could of started with.
I would absolutely sign on for this class, if I weren't so far away lol. I currently have four Slashes, one Raptor, one set up for Mudboss, one for 13.5 Mudboss, one for Street Stock, oh, and one Rustler. Oh, and two Nitro Rustlers! I've never been any good at off road, having started racing in 1991. So I have quite a collection, mostly for oval. Haven't raced in a couple of years, and I don't have a bandit, sooooo.... 😁
That was awesome.....great to get a Bandito class......your helping the sport out......LCG Slashito.....thats gonna be cool....just finishing up mine....adding bigger bearings and axle carriers....can't wait for the next one👍
These races look like SO much fun!! I used to race 2wd buggies back in the early 90’s, and this is giving me so much nostalgia feels… might have to see if I can con a couple buddies into getting Bandits and go have some fun!
Definitely taking it up a few notches. Good racing! I had my Bandit out on the Astro turf at my LHS. 17 second lap for the fast guys in 17.5. I ran a 19.5 fast lap with my bandit. I had one guy tell me about your channel. I said, "Yeah... MX Acres! This is what got me started playing with a Bandit". Keep doing these and look forward to the next one! 👍👍
@@mxacres no sway bars. I don't believe anyone makes a sway bar for the bandit, unless it's custom. So far it's been all shock and spring tuning. I did add some stick on lead weights to the nose of the car to get some better steering. 👍
@@mxacres I'd like to add that to run the RPM or Traxxas caster blocks, you need the smaller outer pins from a rusty, pede, or slash. I'm using the HD Traxxas arms, smaller pins with the aluminum proline caster blocks (which have been discontinued). Hope that helps! 👍👍
I've enjoyed this video series. I hope more tracks can have classes like the Bandit Class. It's probably one of the cheapest buggies around. It might encourage more people to race. When I watch the group race it looks like a lot fun. Thanks for sharing.
Ha ha, if it keeps going at this rate Traxxas is going to owe you a commission. Such a fun series of vids this. The Slash 4x4 is awesome, lots of fun, just sayin.
Can’t wait for the slash content! I’m going to run in my first race this weekend with a slash that I’ve had for almost 10 years. Just did a full rebuild on it
When I was building my Long Arm Bandit, I discovered that if you put the 0 degree toe arm mounts on the wrong sides, it gives you a few millimeters more wheelbase. Ended up doing that with my Stampede after I made that mistake putting my Bandit together and have stuck with it on both!
you might want to do some oval racing because you did say you wanted to travel to different tracks. there is a dirt oval in dundee NY radio hill raceway i have been there when i lived up there for a couple years

I’m loving these videos. You should probably help reduce rotation mass in the transmission by going with the Delrin top gear (3195), aluminum idler (1996x) and all nylon diff gear (2381).
I think a rear motor 2wd buggy class would be really cool, with an additional restriction to 4 gear transmission and perhaps no brass/steel (weighted) parts in the front of the car. Something to really force that old style of driving. I bet it wouldn't be too crazy hard for people to do conversion kits for the b6 platform.
@@zachharris3779 Ah, so were most rm's I guess. Scratch that then, I think the class could mostly be just no chassis weights, heavy bulkheads, and rear motors.

These videos are amazing. Would you recommend this route to a newbie to indoor tracks? I’ve had bashers in the pasty but would like to try my local track. And proper race vehicle prices are a bit daunting.
I would DEFINITELY suggest a bandit! Especially if cost is a factor. Literally the only things I think you would benefit from is proper tires(for your track) and a faster steering servo. And go racing!
Question now. And it is your fault btw the new bandit class. What axles front and rear, hex sizes front and rear and rims front and rear are you using? I am running into fitment issues front and rear. Thanks.
Would love to see a 2wd stampede monster truck class come back also what tekno rear wing mounts did he use even though my track mainly runs ebuggy and sct it still be fun to take a bandit and make it race ready all though it's been done many times before but still fun new fan of the channel love seeing more racing stuff then just bashing.
I absolutely love the 2wd stampede!!! But I'm not sure if short track racing is where that truck needs to be. I really want to start a true low buck 2wd 2S monster truck race series with track setups from the Penda and TNT days of monster truck racing in arenas and fairgrounds. 6 to 8 scale sized simple folding ramps that can be set up on concrete/truff/dirt/ or wherever. For a short track racing, I'd stick with a truggy/rustler chassis.
What wheels do you guys swap onto the banditos to get away from the crappy traxxas stuff? Want to get my kids some better tires for theirs when dads playing on the track!
I wonder why clubs (well, manufacturers really) don't promote stock model X racing more. I mean racing gets expensive quickly. But it really would not if you were limited to a bone stock RTR like a Bandit. I think for the hobby it would be great.
He does he races them in both classes I've seen it I go to the same track as him... There's an all bandit class plus a mix class he was just focusing on the all bandit class in this particular video... Maybe the next video will be mixed
There’s definitely more “Bandit vs every thing else” videos coming. It’s the only thing I’m racing now. I think it’s pretty cool that a bandit class formed within a couple weeks of the first video though. So of course, I would share it.
The new version with LED lights has a new graphics scheme I think there’s 3 colors on that (red/black, blue/green and blue/orange). Plus they’ve done some special editions there was a pink one and the “Hawaiian” pattern they use on a few other models
17turn in brushed is the number of copper windings wrapped around the commutator of the motor. There's also single, double, and triple wind. What that means is, for example: A "17turn double" is 2 copper wires wrapped around the comm. 17 times. Now single winds are more torgue, double winds are a little less torque good all around motor and triple winds are more RPM based. There's also hand wound and machine wound motors. Machine wound are cheaper and easily mass produced. Which is typically what you'll find at your LHS or on-line retailer. Hand wound motors are exactly that.....wound by hand by a experienced person. The hand wound motors offer the best performance, but will cost more than a typical machine wound. Hope that helps your understanding of brushed motors. 👍👍
@@duncandehulst2016 not necessarily. Depends on application. All turns and windings have their place. We used to race 27 turn motors as a class. Now in a open parking lot....a 27 turn motor is slow compared to a 17 turn. So the lower the number, IE : 19, 17, 15 turns the more RPMs the motor will produce. However, they don't offer the torque of a higher turn motors like 27, or 20 turn. Now.... this whole conversation is based on a 540 size can motors. When you go to a 550 can size motor, they offer more torque than the same 540 size motor with the same amount of winds "turns". Also 550 size motors have to be lower turns to get the same RPM per volt as it's 540 size cousin. I'd also like to add that that there's also 3 slot and 5 slot armatures as well. 5 slot motors offer smoother startup compared to a 3 slot. Most people who do RC crawling with brushed motors use a 550 can size in a 5 slot. Holmes Hobbies makes some very good brushed motors for crawling. In this brushless age I don't know if you still can get a modern old school hand wound 3 slot 540 can size motor for off-road buggies or trucks. Most companies use brushed motors and ESCs just due to keeping the cost down. However, once you go brushless, everything just gets better. Another thing I'd like to add about brushed motors is maintenance. Having to spray them out with a cleaner and re-oil the bushings is important. Back in the day of rebuildable brushed motors for racing we were able to take them apart and true the commutator. (Like turning brake rotors on a car.). Installing new brushes and aligning the brush hoods. This is some old school stuff I'm talking about here...lol! But anyways, I hope that gives more information and helps answer any questions about brushed motors.
