I am glad to see your using the Bandit as a box stock class. It's a very good class and a very good car. We ran them with a school group and they were great, We ran them on gray carpet so they pushed a little in th high speed corners. As you can see in your video they jump very well. My pet peeve with Traxxas is with their transmitter. Every transmitter in the world has the ability to reduce the throttle with a dial or switch on the transmitter, You don't have to go to the speed control and go through the process which is a pain. I am so old I remember when cars like the RC10 had a wire mounted wing. I think it's a great idea and people will have a lot of fun. Keep up the good work.
This is an awesome idea. Literally anyone can enjoy the hobby. No $1k rigs, no knowledge of setup needed, etc. A kid can get a $170 car for Christmas and be competitive in racing. Btw, didn’t Indy used to have a bandit class several years back? I think they even had stock bandits you could rent if you didn’t have one. Anyways, definitely looking forward to seeing this class take off. I wish it wasn’t such a far drive or i would be all over this. Not too serious or competitive, just plain fun.

I don't care what people say or how bad the car handles on track....you'll get used to it. It's a cheaper way for people to get out and enjoy some FUN racing were everyone's car be competitive with the same vehicle and it's not all about money and it doesn't have carbon fiber this and that. In my eyes this is the most fun racing I've ever had in my life and I started with ni-cd batteries and traxxas Eagles.
I would love to see a stock spec bandit class. Durability upgrades only, maybe with the bl2s system in them just cause im betting eventually they will move the bandit over to that platform too. When I started racing, I started with a Bandit. As I went along I started to leverage my design and prototyping experience to start making changes on it. Now, the only things that are still Traxxas parts are the arms and front bulkhead, steering linkage... the rest has been redesigned. I made a copy of the transmission and mirrored the halves, so I could flip it 180 and have a fixed timing motor connected to it (for spec buggy racing, 21.5 and 17.5) and have those motors spinning the correct direction to keep its timing. If you take the stock traxxas trans and flip it, the fixed timing motors run slower. Made a huge difference in 21.5 racing. Has a new chassis I get cut out of different materials to try out. Carbon fiber, aluminum, and a few others I tried. So, naturally, I have a bit of a soft spot for the Bandit. MX Acres' series was definitely something I started watching for inspiration on some things. Loads of fun taking a car and totally making it your own creation.
Traxxas needs to come out with a mid motor Bandit. It doesn't have to be that great, let people customize it for extra performance. But with carpet racing being so common these days they need a mid motor chassis setup just so people have some extra tools to work with. I'd buy a mid motor Bandit day 1.
I agree with the mid motor idea. It would've been cool to see Traxxas completely revamp their 2wd lineup with new mid motor chassis for all vehicles along with the switch to the BL-2S

Mark, that wing setup is the way it used to come factory with our original RC10 10th scale buggies lol, I still have one. I was messing with the wing just yesterday.

You need the traxxas wheel hexes and then you can use regular wheels and tires. You can also use a 28 t pinion if you move the motor to the back hole which gives it good speed. We have been messing with them at our track.

I have that same exact bandit, i have my own track in my big side yard behind the storage building and my bandit has been "upgraded" to a 4s brushless system with anaconda tires and does not go anywhere near the track it is an on road car only. Im not just saying outright that it sucks bc i enjoy driving it, on road, but i understand why people say it does suck and theyre not completely wrong, just a little bit.

Typically, it is box stock out of the package. You can usually adjust the shock oil and suspension with the shock spacers and that is all you can do. Stock tires, remote, gearing etc.
this was my first hobby grade rc car back in 96. back then you didn't get anything but a 20 turn stinger motor plus mechanical speed control and you had to build it yourself. the output yokes attached to the differential different back then and you had to use a tool to put the driveshafts together without breaking the output yokes. i broke a output yoke so couldn't run it till i found a rc shop that had the parts and where i got the car didn't have any parts. so i had to find a rc shop without internet or a cellphone and looked up rc tracks in the back of a rc car magazine. found a track 15 minute drive from me and they had the parts needed to get my bandit running. been in - out of the hobby since then and just getting back into it again with 3 traxxas sct's 1 2wd plus 2 4x4's then a dr10. i have same into the used 2 4wd slash's and dr10 that i do for the new 2wd slash kit.
Box stock bandit class could be a good lower cost spec class….with cars creeping up in price I’d hate to see off-road become cost prohibitive like touring cars have become
Carbon fiber helping hands? Too light! You want it as heavy and thus stable as possible. This is why vises are heavy and and some even clamp/bolt down to the table.
The 2wd traxxas platform fucking suck. Even in mudboss spec slash wingless bandits this class etc. With that said its nice there is classes like this for the kids and the people who cant afford or doesn't want to spend thousands of dollar's just to compete. I have over a grand in a scmod and have smoked a hundred dollar set of tires in one night. It gets really expensive and discouraging sometimes so this class is great to get peoples feet wet into the hobby.
I am a professional exterminator have been for many years. I hate the fact that your rodent control bait station box is sitting right in front of your garage, it should be hidden in the bushes.
It's because there are a entry-level rtr company not a race company. Buggy don't make good bashers amd that's the only thing traxxas is some what good for. The only competitive racing you can do with one is with traxxas only classes like this. No way this car will ever hang with the b6/b7 platform or any other race bread company.

Traxxas is sold everywhere all over the world and parts are everywhere amd for racing you want parts on hand. Not have to order overseas. Atleast it would be for me to purchase even the whole vantage model. You also stated build a little bit? It needs to be box stock to compare cars not a slightly buit vantage can out perform a box stock bandit. I could build a bandit to out perform a vantage if I can build it a little 😂

MXAcres took a bandit and did extremely well with it... the platform might seem dated and "toy-ish" to many, but a good driver can make these cars fly

If you can't all run the same battery add some ballast to really level out the playing field

It's terrible on track,way to heavy,mine going speed,drag car,why is traxxas so far behind with a 4s slash or a 4wd buggy for goddsakes
