I have been running traxxas for many many years, glad to see someone else proving the point I’ve been trying to make, for not a lot of money you can be competitive even against high end kits, the rest is time and practice THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION
All it took was a fresh coat of paint and the bandito pulled through. Nice work! I don't own any RC cars but I've been glued to this series, I think that's a testament to your personality and skills with the radio. Keep it up boss!
Time to buy yourself one bud! Racing RC is full of awesome guys like this. One of the main reasons I/we race is the community/camaraderie. I started out with a traxxas bandit at my local dirt track, which was not ideal for competing w/the 1/8th scale rigs they run there. However I got so much help, and made some of my best friends to this day out there. Even found a good job from a fellow racer. Been racing for a little over 3 years now! It’s Also a relatively cheap form form of Motorsport racing. If you ever wanna give it a try, feel free to message me on here or FB,and I’ll gladly give you some info on a good rig to start with, and track info. I’m in Houston, Tx.
@@Crabtronics I appreciate the encouragement, boss! I may end up pulling the trigger on one in the near future, a few of they guys I race moto with just bought some for themselves. I'm an Ohio local, but I may end up taking you up on your offer if/when I need advice.
Awesome job, a few years ago we raced stock Slash on dirt oval at our local track and I won the points for that season. Love those things, can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Loved this series! Binge watched every part today. I’ve always heard people downplay the Bandit for not having race potential. You proved them wrong. Plus it looked like everyone who joined in building their own Bandits were having a blast too!
It's neat to see someone race a bandit. I have one too. I've added an aluminum front shock tower, and I've put some tire weights on the front plate. The added weight helps with the steering and doesn't nose high as bad on the jumps. I like my 1/8 buggies the most, but I have a soft spot for the bandit as it is such a simple and reliable rc car.
Awesome that yours and some other basically stock Bandits can be competitive in 2023. Shows you don’t need to spend big money to have fun and compete in RC.
I need to show you my stadium truck I built from a proline pro mt 2wd. This video also got me wanting to build a race bandito now. Slash and pro2 sc trucks I know pretty well. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I have a Slash that I went whole-ham on and built it to the moon. It's fun as hell to bash or race. I also have another basic Slash that is just as entertaining and it's bone stock. I love this hobby for that reason!
You only got picked up by the marshals once, I’d say that’s a good run! Been fun watching your vids on the Bandito project. Maybe someday I’ll be able to come out to Big Dog and run Slash… It’s a two hour drive for me.
That was so cool.....knew you could do it......what would you change it you were gonna race on turf.......my local track is turf.......have fun and be safe.....congrats on the win 🏆
This is a great serie, both intersting and entertaining. Well done! Considered doing another one with the Associated RB10? Might not need as many upgrades, but it would be interesting to hear your thought process :)
I finally pulled the trigger on getting a bandit vxl with the magnum 272 transmission. Going to try and race it off road as well. Other bandit is dedicated street stock oval.
Quick question with to much info. So i have a stampede 2wd and rustler 2wd, I've never been on a track but would like to try it with what i have, problem is, the local track has a tire restriction to slicks only. What would be your recommendation on finding a premade kit? Or changing tires on stock wheels? Any help would be appreciated as i couldn't seem to find anything
The rustler would be best. You can get aka or rawspeed slicks and ae t6.2 stadium wheels. Snap on some traxxas wheel hexes and your on the track. If your local track has a hobby shop they should have all of the items. If not search them on Amain hobbies.
I REALLY wish Traxxas would re-release the TRX1, it would be smash hit with the emergence of all the vintage racing that’s happening. Be great to see the TRX3 as well later.
The last time Traxxas made anything even remotely intended specifically for a racing class was when they came out with the JATO. Since then they've been focused solely on making bashers (that break just a bit more easily than other _dedicated_ basher platforms) and speed run cars (that don't really manage the advertised speeds without additional purchases), and then using their market share to bully other companies. As much of a smash hit as it would be I don't see Traxxas ever making a rerelease of their old racing buggies.
Won't have to do much for the Serpent. Those are pretty much track-ready out of the box. Just needs some small tweaks. RB10's going to be a bit less of the same as the Bandit, it's a better equipped car out of the box. Honestly, best pick would be something from a different vehicle class.
Were all of the car Bandits or just a couple of them? I'm only asking because I'm thinking about building a bandit to race in the local two-wheel drive buggy League here since no one uses that and I think it would be hilarious to womp on the popular brands out on the track with the Traxxas
Great job! a couple question for you; do you run toe in out or neutral up front? How much camber are you running? And that solid red buggy in that race, was that a bandit as well? I am looking forward to seeing more of this bandit.
Does the bandit have a gear or ball diff? If so have you tried a Bacall diff out if they make it for it because it looks like you are sliding around a couple of corners instead of rolling through it.
@@mxacres it would be interesting to, maybe not build something like yours, but to have something to run arround an indoor or 1/10 buggy track, offcourse it wont be the fastest, but jumping and drifting arround could be fun to (:
Definitely doesn't look like a bandit anymore pretty sweet though why do you guys run with no motor covers on and where is your hobby shop and track located at.
Been loving the traxxas vids! Pretty nice vehicles for the price! Could I ask you a question about a Rustler? I want to start running AE 2.2 stadium truck wheels on my Rustler. Do you have any idea as to what I would have to do to do this mod? Thank you for your time!
Hands down my favourite series on RUclips. I did mention that paintwork was good for 2 to 3 tenths. Now! That Shashito!

I can't believe how well the Bandit preformed. You really have it dialed in. 🏆🏆

I want to see him go to a really big race and race the bandit and see where he can finish at
With pros. If the race was with 8/10 cars.... He would finish around 8th or 9th.

Never raced turf, but I imagine thicker shock oil, stiffer springs, and sway bars would be a good start.

The track reminds me of one in Milford, Illinois.
He hasn’t opened the transmission yet! Traxxas: send him a Magnum transmission.
Can you put your magic on a Traxxas Rustler next? Great content, great channel, even greater advocacy! ❤
Congratulations on first place!

Solid series of videos, you should do another RTR race project like a Serpent Spyder or a RB10.

Slemmer with huge traction.. Eric was into it...
Tell me again ....where did the front bumper wing mount come from?
Ae b6.3 wing and mount.
I would like to see a bandit vs the newer rb10.
Turner's tea and Cellone's bread... Mmm
Dump that helluva good dip and get some B-L dip!!!!
😂
I bet a bandit vxl with a servo and wheels and tires would do pretty good
nice going.
i read the bandit front end geometry isn't ideal for racing. also the rear motor weight bias..
were the other buggies mid motor?
Yes most are modern buggies.
Slash video next??
Fixing up my bandit to run on carpet, what is that front wing set up? I've been searching all over to figure it out.
B6.3 wing and mount. Mount is turned upside down
Yeah. Boi! Slash project. MAKE RC great again
I wanna race a Bandit now lol

Where did yu get the spoilers for front and back?
Both are ae b6.3. Rear is trimmed with tekno wing mount.
@@mxacres thanks so much, do yu maybe now the part numer of that wing Mount?
@@catmatiskam7092 I do not, but I think it was for the eb410. I believe.

-1 camber, 0-1 toe. Yes red/white wheels is a bandit.
Do you have a parts list for what you used on your bandit?
Now we need a mid motor version lol
Nitro rustler chassis, bandit length suspension, flip the trans.
Does the bandit have a gear or ball diff? If so have you tried a Bacall diff out if they make it for it because it looks like you are sliding around a couple of corners instead of rolling through it.
It is a gear. I haven’t found a ball yet.
You’re running a shorty battery, how do you keep it in place with the center mounted ESC?
Double sided tape
I like what you are doing here. 🍻
Thank you!
What wing mount is that also is it a clear stock wing on it or
Mount is for a tekno buggy. Wing is jconcepts, but cut down a bit.
Could you give either the link or the part number to the wing mounts that you use for the bandito?
What wheels are you using? I know offsets vary from brand to brand
Ae b6.3 wheels.
Tlr wheels work also but will be a touch narrower.
You have a total spec sheet for the bandito? As it originally comss with a 12 turn brushed system right?
It did. I’ll get a list together

Im gonna be picking up a bandit to start in spec class. What front wing is that? And do you think its needed? Thanks
Ae b6.3 front wing and mount. I’m not sure it actually does anything, but in my mind it does 😂
love the series. is it a 2wd?
What front wing are you using? How did you mount it?
Ae b6.3 wing and mount. It’s mounted to the inside of the front bumper. Drilled two holes in bumper to mount it.
What front wing mount is that?
Ae b6.3

What kind of front wing you using..
Ae b.3 wing and mount
What tires do you run at your track
Aka ultra soft slicks
Good racing! Glad to see you got a win! 👍. Now what about racing it against the newer buggies? Keep up the good content! 👍👍
All the buggies in that race were AE buggies except the red bandit.
