The Bandito series was fun to watch, the "Slashito" series should be great too. It is far more entertaining seeing a lower-cost rc doing well in races against significantly more expensive setups.
Fielding these underdog chassis is super cool. While I absolutely appreciate the cutting edge vehicles, doing well with a (heavily modified) RTR, and especially a rear motor, is incredibly satisfying. I just finished our first local points for the winter with my rear motor B4 against a field of B6.4s and TLR22s and while I didn't make enough races to podium for the series, I did pretty dang well, including TQ and 1st for the final race last week. Next series I'm pretty focused on not missing any races so hopefully can put a 20 year old car on the podium in April!
I have swaybars in my slash (its a 4x4 though) and set up right, the cornering stability will be improved. It will take a bit of testing to get the suspension right as your shocks, springs and sway bars have to be all set to work in harmony with each other. Done right, both the bandit and slash will be winning consistantly in no time. Love the budget builds.
Hey man, just wanted to say i think you have a lot of room to grow this channel. I am a hard person to the attention of with yt videos and you got me hooked over the course of weekend. You have a great talent to keep people engaged and make good good content, keep it up!
That was so cool....just ordered my lcg chassis to do the same thing......need a video to show what you have in both....the Bandito and the Slashito......great racing👍
Until this past Saturday I hadn’t touched it. But did race it this weekend with changes and additions from last season. Videoed the whole day and will be up this week.
We need to petition proline to bring back their pro trac suspension for the Slash. That's what I run and it works great. It changes the track width of the truck to take advantage of the suspension change. You just run different offset wheels to compensate
We run a box Stock slash class at my track.... Besides eBuggy it's the most popular class we run and we run all the 1/8 and 1/10 classes with healthy entries. These trucks are capable and a ton of fun. I'll have to point some of our guys to this video that are wanting to run something besides Spec slash. It's cool to see other tracks and other people trying to make the hobby more affordable.
You are becoming my favorite RUclipsr. I love watching these Bandit and Slash videos. I look forward to each one. I have added a bandit to my cart at Amain for my next order. I blame you, lol.
I got a bag of parts including king shocks … was gonna build a truck ground up all trick parts still need electronics motor….. wheels tire’s everything I have no radio… think I’m gonna by a new one and upgrade it lol
I love Team Associated. I still have a B4.1 with full graphite, carbon fiber, and aluminum. Though, I've been replacing parts with RMP products because it has gotten increasingly hard to find replacement parts. I used to have a T4 RTR way back in the day as well. Stuck between a new RB10 or a Bandit as a buggy basher since the old B4 should be retired.
Still the best mothertrucking series and channel on RUclips for RC. Really wish RUclips and Al Gore's Rhythm would promote the channel and series and recommend it more. That stock body shell is 3 tenths too slow.
Now that Traxxas has the Slash kits, it may have been easier to just start with that instead of buying used, even considering all the upgrade parts! I'm getting back into r/c after a hiatus and purchased one of the Slash kits just for bashing and I must say, I was pretty impressed both with the overall quality of the kit and the instructions which rival any of the high tier racing brand kits. Although I did add Trinity ceramic bearings, RPM Rear hub carriers, and Associated 50wt shock oil to mine. I think my next step will be the aluminum steering rack and bellcranks along with the LCG chassis.
I have really been enjoying watching you race these cheapos. I don't have any tracks less than an hour and a half drive away from me, so I've only been to the track a couple times to check it out.
that pop up at 6:55 is priceless. Right when he made those turns i was like damn that was clean. Kind of a bummer this is the last vid in the slash series though.
Good race! I ran a 2wd slash last weekend in novice class that consisted of 20 entries. Most were 1/8 E buggy. I made the Amain for that class and managed to pull out a 4th place against 9 1/8 Ebuggys :) I also have been running a slash ultimate in the sct and open 1/10 class. So far multiple TQs, and multiple second place finishes. :) I am considering running my bandit in the next novice class just to see how high I can place. Novice at my track can be any 1/8 or 1/10 running 4s or less for batteries so I can run a bunch of random underdog stuff. I have had more fun running my slashes in these races than with my actual competition E Buggy and E Truggy.
Do you post your setup sheets anywhere? I'd be interested in seeing where you landed. I have that sway bar kit on my LCG slash. They don't fit worth a darn, and there are no instructions anywhere that I could find about how to install them. I should say, there were none that are correct. There are a couple of videos out there showing how to put the sway bars on. The front end seems plausible, but the rear end is completely wrong in the videos that are out there. I ended up putting the parts that are supposed to be for the front end onto the rear, then buying another of the kits to do the front end... Overall, I would call the design poor, but they do indeed work.... If they were any worse, they wouldn't work.
We have a local track that races Stock Slashes only. You can't change the shock brand, or the arms, or the transmission, or the steering or the motor. Basically only allow LCG chassis, shock setup (oil, springs) and tires. It is a loose dirt track that is rough and bumpy. What options are available for the stock shocks? I run Associated stuff, and although they do allow Stock SC10, It would be an unfair advantage to run the stock SC10 so want to try my skills with essentially matched Slash, I've never owned one either so don't even know what suspension adjustments there are. Fun video though, although I can't do the mods you implemented, it is inspiring me to join that racing.
That slash looks pretty dialed. I might have to make a trip up w/ the Xray SCT soon again. That thing has some serious rear grip. Way to Make Traxxas Great Again.
Great 2-camera work and making a Traxxas so competitive. Traxxas should sponsor you. The Pro-line tranny is sexy, (did I just say that?), but I like the RPM box with a FastLane sealed diff. Get the diff-lube right and forget about-it. You and your channel are becoming my favorite.

Currently building an Rc track at mxacres and there will be a lot of testing and racing content coming from that in the summer months.
@@mxacres Nice, thanks for posting up. That sounds about right. Though I find the Slash not to be extremely competitive on Carpet, I look forward to getting it on a dirt track this spring in Pro2 class. A slight heavier oil in rear than front makes sense for rear bias. I think I'm at 40 ft and 45 rr. Keep it going! Would love to see more SCT!
