What a great tour video. Very well done and much appreciated. I've been to the South Rim, and I'm looking forward to returning and checking out the North Rim.
Just Breath taking. It's so good to read how these vids are Helping so many people in making plans @CactusAtlas. Yes it would be nice to get thousands of views & likes butt you Two are Helping so many people be able to visit these Wonderful Places that would Probably Never go if it wasn't for what you Two are doing.
Great to hear! Can't thank you enough for that. We hope that you have a fantastic trip to the North Rim. It's really a spectacular place and truly unique and different to the South Rim if you've ever experienced that before. 😊
I did a North Rim trip this past week (along with Walnut Canyon National Monument, which was an unexpected treat), and having been to both rims now, I honestly prefer the North Rim. I actually think you get better colors and scenery on the north side, plus it's not nearly as crowded so the visitor experience was very pleasant. If you do another visit there, I recommend doing the Cliff Spring trail as well. It's not very far at a mile round trip, and because it's mostly within a wooded area, it wasn't as hot as the Uncle Jim or Cape Royal trails.
The smaller crowd size alone makes it top pick between the two for us. 👍 We'll have to check out that trail. Itching to go back - especially now with the unending heat down here. 😅
My spouse and I just visited the North Rim and the Cape Royal road yesterday for the first time ever. While we had been to the South Rim several times before, the North Rim is much more fascinating because it is at a higher elevation, has far more trees, and has far more incised canyons.
Hmm. Not really much advice other than every stop offers a different viewpoint to the canyon and formations, including around the lodge area. All very worth stopping to admire.
Very cool video brother. I've been there, seen hundreds of videos on the GC, but this is the 1st of this type showing more then one overlook. Stay safe and keep up the great work 👍
Just want to say Thank You for your effort on your videos. My fiancé and I are going to the Grand Canyon next month starting at Valley of Fire and making our way to the North rim, then Page for Horseshoe Bend then the south rim for a couple days then to Sedona. Of all the videos we have watched so far, yours have helped us tremendously with planning on what to focus on. Especially your Valley of Fire videos, North rim overlooks, Horseshoe bend, and Bell Rock videos. Thanks for all you do and of course we hit the like button on all of them!
Oh gosh! Thank you so much! Super happy to have been of help on your upcoming trip and kinda jealous. Sounds like an AMAZING itinerary! Have a great trip! 😄
I am currently doing trip itinerary for GC visit in June 2021. I really wanted to include the North Rim in our visit but wasn't sure about access and parking and so on for three retired ladies. Thank you so much for this video which answered all of my questions.
@@CactusAtlas You are most welcome! I just got back to California today from the South Rim. Gorgeous! And I was wondering about the North. Your video narration was pretty awesome, well done! 😁😁😁 ( Looking down certain areas is amazing and terrifying! You are right! 😂😂)
So happy to hear it! One thing I didn’t realize until I went is how spread out the overlooks are, as you probably saw. So long as you know that and are prepared to do a little driving, you’ll be good to go!
North rim was amazing - this video really helped. Went on Sept 30th for two nights and the Aspen were changing color on the way down 67, and particularly the first 5 miles of Cape Royal road. Had a nice picnic at Vista Encantada and the next day at Imperial.
@@CactusAtlas which rim of the Grand Canyon is best to see because people can’t have their cameras or phones out on the skywalk to prevent scratches in the glass.
The Skywalk is actually pretty far from the South and North Rims and not the easiest to get to (Google maps shows it's a 4 hr drive from the South Rim). And yes, there's no filming there... a giant reason why we have no videos on the place and still haven't gone ourselves. 😥 As far as which rim is better... it's really subjective in a way. The South Rim is definitely has more tourists but more conveniences available (such as food and lodging) and is easier to get to. The North Rim has a far shorter season and can take a lot more time to reach (depending on where you're coming from) but the remoteness and lower crowd level certainly make for a more personal experience. We favor the North Rim just a bit more for that last reason but honestly they're both spectacular in their own way. 👍
Very good insider info, thanks. Angels Window did come across in the video as shiver inspiring. What time of the season were you out there and what time did you show up?
The date this was filmed was September 25th of 2019. I think that particular segment was probably filmed mid afternoon, somewhere around 2-4pm. Thanks again for your continued engagement with our channel!
It was a great time to go. Honestly not sure how busy it gets at other times since the North Rim is very remote. But for sure, it was pretty quiet during my stay there.
Your videos are wonderful. We are going to the Grand Canyon for the first time and going to the North Rim. In your opinion if we skip the South Rim will we be devastated? We do not have kids and are in our late 50's. We would have been to Zion and Bryce already and hiked our butts off. TIA.
No doubt, the north rim has the most spectacular views of the canyon. After 2 trips to south rim, 2 to north rim, and one to Toroweap Point, I have no desire to revisit the south rim but would gladly return to either or both of the north rim locales.
The answer might be somewhat misleading unfortunately. The footage was filmed across about 3 hours, however, because of filming multiple takes, changing batteries and all the details that making videos entails, it may or may not take the same amount of time as someone just visiting. As for Glenn's trip to the North Rim, he camped there two nights. Hope this helps some! 😊
Would you say you could do the whole tour within about 3 or 4 hours of you just wanted to take pictures and take in the view? And if you've already been to the South Rim would this be more of the same or is it totally different?
When did you record this video? Date and time. I was at the South Rim March 12-14, 2020, and it was significantly busier. I just cannot believe how 'empty' it is. I wish RUclips would provide a "Recorded on (Date(s))" in the title area.
Sep 25, 2019. It's funny that RUclips doesn't display recording dates as there's an area for us to enter those dates. I'm not sure where that data goes honestly but it would save me from looking it up each time. After a while I can't even remember what year things were recorded. 😅 The North Rim gets 10% as many visitors as the South Rim so that probably leads to the lighter crowds. We also went about a week or so before the North Rim closed for the winter season.
Great! Going soon!!
Woohoo! Awesome! Hope your visit is spectacular! You've hit up some great spots and I don't think the North Rim will fall short. 😄👍
