    1. Hope you are well and doing ok. Update us occasional, ok?
    2. Where is Camp Vue? Is it an app, a you tube channel, what? Because I can’t find it anywhere. Help!

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  День назад +1

      Thanks for asking. Right now, Campvue is only accessible via a RUclips channel. youtube.com/@campvue We do have a web domain, and it is Campvue.com (which is the home of the web app, but it is not live yet).
      I’m actually planning two update videos that I am going to release in the same week. One is a health update, and the other is a channel update that ties into that. Tentatively planning to release that three weeks from now if I remember correctly.
      One thing I will be discussing is the Campvue app and the work I will be doing on that.
      Definitely behind schedule due to my health stuff and a couple other factors.
      One thing we ought to do is put a link in our description to the Campvue channel in all our videos since we do mention it.
      Anyway, great questions and I think I’ll pin your comment for others as they are excellent questions!!

      @pennysaufley8974 no, thank you! In fact, I forgot that I made a short campground review (an on foot one) of the Natural Bridges campground). I scheduled it to go live a couple days from now, but decided to push it live just now since it ties into this week video over here.

    Thanks Glen. I'm eternally grateful for you and other RUclipsrs who keep showing me amazing places to go. I just visited Bates Well Ranch today after learning about it from one of your videos, and look forward to spending time in the Goblin Valley area in the spring.

    Thanks for sharing this video! This is a great drive! There is an incredibly scenic area around Hite, UT. The bridge you show at 44:15 is the center of the area. The overlook at 46:15 and following is a wonderful look at the valley! Have to agree that this is one of the most scenic drives!

    Thank you for your videos. I love the length of them full of good info. We did little wild horse and bell because of your other video and we did the loop. It is the best. Very different at bell. Open and just different but beautiful. Did you do Bell canyon before, I can’t remember. Hope you are in good health. Happy new year! We hope to get back to Utah a couple more times in the next four years. We live very far away. Capitol reef is so great!😃

      We did in fact film Bell Canyon the first time. It does have a different vibe to it than the narrowness of Little Wild Horse, doesn't it? We're both rooting for that next trip or yours to Utah and hope it's a fantastic one. 😄

    Not many drives are better than the one from Hanksville to Natural Bridges (and on to Blanding). I now have Little Horse on my places to check out so thanks for trudging up there to show it off!
    If you do get back up to visit Bears Ears, the famous "house of fire" ancient structure is a fairly easy hike from the highway and it's a genuinely impressive structure. Apparently that area is just thick with various ancient dwellings, which is precisely why it needs the protection of the monument.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  День назад +1

      Agreed! A little worried to see if more of that land is going to lose its protection as it had a few years back, but was then reversed. I recall it was a very substantial chunk that lost protection at one point. Need to educate myself on that a little better. That area is one I have yet to do a lot of exploration!

    I checked out your list on Amazon. What camera/attachment gear do you use for your forward view? Is it internal or external. It looks like a great way to record where i go on vacation. Thanks for your great a d beautiful videos.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  День назад +1

      If you mean the forward view from the truck, it is a go pro (hero 10 black I believe), but you’d get the same result from many models. The view from the cab of the truck of me talking is another go pro that we sync to the one on the roof using a go pro remote, but we also use the go pro app to control them.
      The go pro on the roof is on a magnetic mount, which you can find many on Amazon. The one in the truck uses a suction cup mount (the official go pro one) and sticks to the windshield.
      I’ll need to see if that list is up to date.
      Now, the one where I walk around and talk is a Sony ZV1 Mark II, mounted to a motorized gimbal ( a Zhiyun Crane M2). Probably not for everyone, but we like it.
      I think one of these days I’ll make a video showing all this stuff as enough folks ask.

    Thanks for another great video. You answer so many of my questions, allow me to answer one of yours. They can purchase equine fly masks that are relatively inexpensive to help the horses 🐴🐴🚫🚫🪰🪰

    There are all sorts of fly repellents for horses. They have to be reapplied at least daily.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  15 часов назад

      Do you think the horses are used to the flies or does it really bother them? I hung out with them everyday quite a bit while there and wondered if it is worth writing someone to propose helping them out with something, but don’t want to make big deal out of something that may just be par for the course. I would pet the one that had it the worst to help bat the flies away and when I stopped, it would move its head closer to me as if to say ‘don’t stop’. Not trying to be dramatic, or PETA over here, but to me it seemed like an all day, everyday annoyance for a couple of them. Probably does not help to be adjacent to a campground that likely attracts insects, so perhaps not an easy or cheap problem to solve… as you said, it would be daily maintenance for someone, and not free. And maybe it is a temporary seasonal thing? What can I say, I think I have a soft spot for horses? 😉
