      Given the smell and the heat... I can imagine they probably thought it was some place to be avoided/possible evil. Then again, it's clear that some past civilizations had greater knowledge of physics and the universe than one would imagine so who knows! Interesting thing to ponder though. 😊

    My vote is yes to some fishing! Not only tossing a line in from shore, but more use for the kayak!! You can totally get those Disney vibes from the video. Definitely a blessing and a curse for the park I'm sure. Can't wait to see the rest...

    My vote is yes to the fishing! What an awesome camping adventure!! I've always wondered how it would be done during a camping trip and to see it done on the Cactus Atlas, freaking awesome! They're plentiful and as mentioned, the fish is being honored as food, it wouldn't be fishing for sport.

    No to fishing.
    Went to Yellowstone several years ago, in early June. It was not as crowded, however we got up very early to hit places before the crowds were too bad. Loved Norris Basin. It is other worldly. The landscape is so different. We walked around Mammoth near the hotel and the area was full of elk. Cars had to be cautious as the elk were crossing the street with no care in the world. It is beautiful park.

    Hey there. Very enjoyable watch as always and some interesting thoughts along the way. Crowds don’t bother me but if I was doing what your doing which in too self conscious about yet to even attempt I would have trouble with crowds lol. I don’t really fish but wouldn’t mind watching here and there. Henry Winkler wrote a great book about how fly fishing has been such a wonderful life experience for him and giving him a sense of connection and direction. As always thanks for putting this out there.

    Well, I wasn't gonna say it, but since you did...yes, Mammoth is not as great as it used to be, like back when my mom was young 😅 we usually drive through to get to Lamar Valley as quick as we can. But, at least now ya know 😉 Our first trip back in 2012 we spent 13 days camping all over the park 😊 I'm so happy you are getting to explore the park, it really is something to be seen! 😊

    Hey Cactus Atlas! I've been watching your channel for about 4 months now and this is my first time commenting. I absolutely love your content! Keep it up! I'm from the St. Louis Missouri area but have lived in Colorado for 2.5 years (since 2021). I think I heard Glenn mention he or his family was from Missouri in this vid when he was talking about fishing.
    Anyway, when I visited the Yellowstone area in 2022, I approached the area from the South. We stopped at both sides of Dinosaur National Monument and stayed the night in Vernal Utah on the way to Wyoming. The Colorado side has incredible scenic canyon views while the Utah side has a dinosaur quarry and a few petroglyph sites. Each side has its own visitor center. I checked the google maps list of places you have filmed and did not see Dinosaur National Monument on the list. I highly recommend checking this place out! We also hit the Flaming Gorge on the way from Dinosaur to Grand Teton and that place was pretty cool too.
    The day on our itinerary we had set aside to visit Grand Teton NP ended up being the exact day that Yellowstone closed for the first time in decades due to extreme flooding. Yellowstone closed the day before we were supposed to enter the park for 4 days. The park remained closed for about 2 weeks, so needless to say, our trip got cut short a few days. Our once in a lifetime Yellowstone trip will have to be done another year. Anyway, Dinosaur National Monument ended up being the unexpected highlight of that trip. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  Год назад +1

      Read the whole thing! Thank you for sharing! Dinosaur National Monument is actually somewhere we've got our sights on going to. Just a matter of timing and working it into a trip. And St Louis! We're actually both from there (and where we first met)! How cool! 😄

    I don’t mind the fishing. I never got into it myself. My ex-husband was into it. Still recall him going fishing with his brother.& Bringing back a bunch of fish and cleaning it inside my SIL & BIL house then cooking it, but I couldn’t let go of the smell of the fish when it was being gutted Ect. So the fish was difficult for me to eat and I am not a fan of eating fresh water fish. I love seafood and shellfish. Anyway, thank you again for the Yellowstone video. I enjoyed it that is on my list. Not planning on going during peak season. I’m taking September possibly October. Question for you I know that you camp solo in your tent occasionally. Here’s my question do you see many solo women, camping in tents. Planning on buying a van that I can camp in and I may take a trip before I get the van. That would mean staying in a motel, some other lodging or tent camping.

      Thanks for sharing your opinion on the fishing! 😄👍 I know there are a handful of RUclips channels of solo women traveling around. I'll have to ask Glenn about his camping experiences and what he notes. Given that he's usually filming when in campgrounds he might not even take notice! 😂 (Edit - He said that he sees some, yes)
