    Glenn, best hour I've spent in quite sometime. Been to the G.C several times until it got so crowded and expensive. This was a reminder that history lives on beyond what mere scenery can proclaim. Kudos to both you and Amy!

    Hello Glen and Amy! Great work on this video. One of my favorites of your videos as you describe the history of the South Rim. My husband and I live in Prescott and I didn’t know all the history. Appreciate your research and sharing. I like that you use your imagination putting yourself in the era and what it could have been like back in the day. You are bringing past history to life for today.
    Thank you!

    I appreciate you guys! I had a rough day today and intentionally sought out a Cactus Atlas video to turn the day around. I don't view the commentary as "rambling", I see someone who's really genuinely interested in the history of the incredible places he visits. And I could spend all day listening to a passionate person talk about what makes them light up. There are plenty of places to get quick facts and a rushed video of an area. I appreciate that every one of yours feels more like a leisurely stroll with a friend. And way to go on the editing as always, Amy!

    So many great stories here! I don’t know how Glenn can remember all this stuff. I get so flustered when I’m out filming I usually forget the details!😂

      Oh, normally I struggle greatly reciting stuff onsite. Make a lot of mistakes too. I might have had my phone and a connection so I could frequently consult for dates and stuff on this one, otherwise, probably would not have happened. 😉

    Thank you for recording your adventures and sharing them here on RUclips! I have A LOT of episodes to catch up on. Sadly, not much free time to enjoy your videos lately. I will get to them eventually. It’s so much fun reliving my adventures to some of the places you have visited. You are also creating a long list of places I’ve never been but plan to when time allows. 😎

    Your first view of the Grand Canyon in the morning took me back to the first time I saw it a few years ago. We arrived in the early morning . As we walked up the slope to the first overlook and then beheld the view stretching so far into the distance and so far below made the term, breathtaking, a far too weak description for it. The blue aura that enveloped the scene added to the wonder of the experience.

      It is hard to convey the scale and majesty of that canyon, even in video. I find early morning and late afternoon to be the best times to view it.

    What a coincidence, I was just there yesterday! My fourth time at the south rim solo, Hiked all the way down and up from cedar ridge back to the parking lot at the visitors center, intense hike back up but the canyon is breathtaking and simply magnificent.

    I was really interested in watching this but you’re rambling way too much. I recommend you look at Grand Adventure’s videos. He does a voice over with a good short history of each area he is filming. Sorry, I don’t mean to be so critical… but I had to stop watching… and this is not the first time. 😞

    I think some confuse "rambling" with wonderment. I enjoy the hell out of Glenn's commentary because his head is doing what mine does when I'm out and about, just drifting and wondering. Glenn's a pretty chill guy doing what he wants. that's cool.
    anyway. Glenn and Amy... excellent job with this one. I saved it for when I could relax and it was worth it. And yeah man.... there are for sure moose up there. got way too close to one with just a tree between us. lol they were wondering around pretty openly when I was there. a few smaller ones walked through our campsite one morning. think Mather?
    anyway enjoyable. thanks for the dreaming. 🫡
    is there any better sound than feet walking along gravel?

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  7 дней назад

      Thanks! I’ve seen many an Elk in Mather but have yet to see a Moose. I had a close call with an Elk that was drinking out of one of those sinks for campers to wash their dishes. It was drinking from it and I made a noise and it squared off and I was sure it was going to charge at me, but I slowly backed off and luckily it calmed down. But a scary moment it was indeed! A Moose would be even scarier!!! 🫎
