I don't like how Twitch says stuff like, "You can't merge chats to ensure your Twitch community has the full experience of your livestream," that's just stuff to try to make themselves look better. While I think it is better than what it was, the bar was already really low. Like I'm still not gonna multi-stream to Twitch because I just don't believe in giving them power.
@@RebeccaEmcee I agree. tho i would still use Twitch - there is no reason to not use them for your own gains and they are still the most popular streaming platform. Consumers are lazy (me included tbh) and diversification is important. Thats why i multistream to four platforms, no matter the guidelines and viewers can choose which platform they prefer.
@@CallMeTeci Yeah, objectively I totally see why using Twitch is still beneficial but personally, I'm just a really unforgiving person and Twitch has gone past the redemption point for me. Just feels wrong for me to stream on Twitch.
Hey Devin, just want to let you know that I feel you about doubting the value your own content provides, as I’m currently going through this myself and am thus currently on haitus to focus on grad school. I also want to let you know that your content has been incredibly helpful in giving me a uniquely insightful perspective on content creation, esports, and marketing - one that I have yet to find anywhere else. Sincerely hope you can rekindle your confidence in your content. Best wishes.
26.26 🙏🏾Looks like Twitch is HOPEFULLY getting the point. Multistreaming is like the best way for NEW streamers to grow an audience. For a long time, new streams try to grind endlessly to affiliate on Twitch then get locked in not knowing that RUclips or others may have given them a huge boost in viewship. Let's hope Twitch becomes more of a opportunity for new creators in the space 🙏🏾
26:26 shout out -- Devin your videos are absolutely one of a kind and full of information you can get nowhere else on RUclips. You have been instrumental in my own RUclips journey as a creator and I look forward to each and every one of your videos. I thank you so profoundly for your amazing, heartfelt, and well thought out material. Please keep it up when you have the time! You told me to simul-cast long ago and it has been a boon for my streaming. So glad Twitch is getting more on board with this.
I'm actually glad they finally did means I can stream all sites I want without no issues anymore which is nice. Exclusivity should of been removed a long time ago but that's just what I think
I've been multistreaming to RUclips, Twitch, TikTok and now Kick for the last year + . TikTok has been the most beneficial for all streams and most of the time has the most viewed. It's gotta be vertical though. A lot of the time conversations from 1 platform can drive or start a conversation on another too. Best decision I've ever made was start multistreaming.
I made it to the 26:26 (and BEYOND). As someone that is hoping to start doing some content really soon, this is great news! And your insight on this happening really seals the deal on multi-streaming (something I was always for).
26:26 gang. Your content is the BEST on youtube for this niche BY FAR. You could even branch out into pure marketing/business and be top there. Just because RUclips algorithm doesn't care to your style of a video doesn't mean it's not the best format to actually learn things. You really are giving us lectures for free here.
I went to an AMA panel at twitchcon with Dan Clancy and was honestly impressed with how he answered both simple and complex questions frankly and with a ton of nuance. Felt like I was watching a Devin Nash video (at least a little)
Literally saw there was a new Devin Nash video before I went to sleep and was like "Naw this is premium. I gotta save Devin for when I'm fresh." Been loving the content for 3-4 years, always a treat to see a new video and find myself going back to watch old videos. Don't get yourself down! Your content is a tremendous value!
For what it's worth your videos are a lot like marketing lectures I've been in. You ARE teaching marketing and have a large bulk of experience that equates you of similar value to some professor. RUclips is going to be my top of funnel(1440p gaming streams/videos, 1080p shorts), shorts going to TikTok/Twitter and eventually a members discord down the line. Your videos provided a lot of information and insight to help me finally make the decision to do RUclips. I'm trying to gauge how useful it would be to multi-stream to Twitch. Not sure my computer would handle a 1080p/720p stream on top of me doing 1440p high bitrate streams with the games high quality settings(with recording 1440p on the side). So far I like my system and am more than satisfied with the organic views considering the kinds of games I'm playing. Also 26:26 , I'm one of those 90+% viewer duration viewers :D
Dude your content is one of the best for learning business and general marketing. It's the contrarian and unique point of view that you have that is your USP which is why I watch you. Don't stop please.
2626 is amateur watch time. Dont ever say your content isnt valuable. I never miss a video. Your content is the reason ive had any success in the overstaurated gaming space. Thank you.
2626! Devin as creator i can't say enough how helpful your videos are too me. My entire day stops whenever a new Devin Nash video comes out just to learn and edcate myself on what is next in this space. Your info is incredibly valuable so please know that we appreciate these talks you do so much! Honestly no one does it better 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿.
A huge benefit of simulcasting that I have not seen mentioned is more potential to be raided. e.g. If you never stream on RUclips you could never be raided by a RUclips streamer. I don't know the true value of being raided, but at least anecdotally I have followed a few creators from it.
Oh this is HUGE! A raid from a big streamer on Facebook Gaming (of all places lol) is what got me on the map there. Was multi-streaming to Twitch and RUclips with like 1 or 2 views before that. This happened back in 2020 btw, but very good point!
.... twitch discoverability is far greater than youtube as far as streaming goes.... youtube streams are basically invisible to anyone who isn't already following you and even then they need to be looking for your stream
I'm about halfway through so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but one big benefit of skipping affiliate on Twitch is that your viewers don't get ads. I watch someone who streams to 500 on RUclips and 350 on Twitch. He monetized only on RUclips and holds membership streams there. Viewers can watch ad-free on Twitch if they prefer that chat interface, and then he has the benefit of the of raiding through Twitch at the end.
Your content absolutely has value. I may not always agree with what you're saying but I always respect you. You know more about what you're talking about than most people on social media.
As a content creator who manages my own brand, your videos are THE MOST VALUABLE videos for me on the platform. I tell every one of my peers who is serious about their career in content creation to watch your stuff. God bless you, man. Don't listen to those intrusive thoughts.
Devin your content is inspiring and helps alot of folks, I always look forward to your analysis when it comes to streaming and the content creation atmosphere. please don't ever put yourself down or your content
I've been multi-streaming for years and handling multiple chats is not that hard... but make sure you have enough moderators :they really, really help.
My bother.!! your content is SOOO valuable.!! I can't even fathom someone saying that about your stuff.! My dude out here teaching whole ass business classes.!!
26:26 It amazes me you question how good your content is. I'm not a content creator, but find the industry/tech to be interesting and your perspective and presentation style is always informative and interesting.
26.26 got to you from alok i am 28 studying applied psychiatry and think you are the 2nd best content creator after alok Gaming is nice for entertainment and all love cohh asmon and co but this shit is real and important for MANY people. love your message of free speech and learning. keep at it at your pace you dont have to prove yourself to anyone
First time I saw you was the first day you went on Trainwrecks podcast many years ago, always appreciated what you said and what you brought to the table. Your videos are valuable, even for people that are not yet streaming.

When it's content like this, then you are THE go to place for me. Great value delivered in an easy to understand way without clickbait or running circles around the value of the video for retention sake :)
I saw no reason to stream on twitch while youtube existed simply because discovery is so much higher the twitch audience would just cannibalise your youtube one anyway. Even now as Twitch has no discovery simulcasting seems redundant. I've never understood the complaints of no livestream page on youtube. Streaming is for your subscribers. Videos are what get you the subscribers. It's a far better system than a page of random streams you may or may not like.
26:26 dude devon your content is PURE its not biased or opinionated... sure its not " entertainment " but what you provide doesnt have to be entertaining because its super valuble... i often view your content and how much you produce more as " what is needed to be said " vs " ive got to say something just to say something and stay 'relevant' " .... your content is about the numbers and how things ACTUALLY are vs how people want them to be... keep doing you Devon !!! this simulcasting news is huge im gonna be live everywehere now !!!! :D :D :D :D
Your content has always been valuable and I look forward to the uploads. I never would have thought in the slightest that your videos were not valuable. I enjoy getting my marketing news from you and don’t even know who would be second place.
While marketing in the livestreaming space might be for a niche audience, your videos are definitely a valuable resource. I've been following Twitch since the beginning and other forms of live media way before that and I always learn something new from these videos!
26:26 Was looking forward to this commentary when this news dropped! Always enjoy listening to your takes on the business happenings of the streaming world whether you know exactly what's going on or making your well educated guesses. Always golden!
Your content is valuable Devin, when I had to write an essay on good speakers I pointed to your channel and videos! Without any effects, games, or video that RUclipsrs typically NEED to be worth watching, you capture an audience with your profound knowledge and speaking ability. A lot of us are simply loyal Devin fans who watch because we trust that you will make the video interesting. But it is our bad for not showing enough love, as I've watched almost every video over the past two years and haven't commented at all. Most times I'd rather move on to the next video, so enjoy this message as even if I don't comment again... I'll still be watching and enjoying your videos, 26:26.
Devin please stop doubting yourself. You may not know this but the takes you have use a logic that is not very common. You take time to look into all perspectives or at least be informed on them. This is immensely valuable.
Devin your content has always been the craziest most insightful stuff on here. The ludwig interview I go back to multiple times a year and I don’t even stream anymore!! The only thing you’re missing is playing the short form clip from long form games. You’ll see huge growth if you fire up that machine trust
I'm not a creator, but I watch your videos so I can understand the options better and help my friends or the people who I watch where I can. Great video. 26:26
26:26 crew here. Thank you so much for your content! It's super informative, motivating, and entertaining. You have a whole crew of people here on YT who look forward to your uploads and get so much value from them. Be encouraged and keep it up! 💪🏻 And it's okay to go goblin mode on a game sometimes 😂
Enjoyed the video. Very insightful take on it. I feel like I saw a lot of content that said this is a big W, but not WHY it's a big W. Great to hear a good deep dive into it, and 26:26
Good news! I am mainly on YT and was really interested in streaming and dedicated myself to Twitch for a while. I started multistreaming earlier this year and it's been a lot of fun, despite the issues with the platform, I do like Twitch and this is a good step for them. I was worried about getting banned but am too small for it to be on the radar so I'm happy they went ahead with this!
this type of professional level content on new industries (streaming is still a new industry, influencer etc) I find very useful and interesting, and I'm in a totally different sector, still I get gems from this I can use. I really like understanding different business models how they work. Really not much content like this getting made, the majority of it is from the angle of 'let's talk about this online scam'. You come from it inside on the decisions needed to make these careers work, I guess there are blogs out there doing this... keep at it. It has longer term value too, as a document of changes in an industry.
This is the first video in a while that I've seen but glad it popped up. Please keep making videos man always super informative and interesting. PS. I like that you are copy/pasting notes instead of typing them, makes the video flow a lot better
Thanks for all of your content over the years Devin, I've ben watching for several years before i even had the ability to make content and you're my favorite youtuber relating to improving your own streams and just understanding the industry more. Also have loved all your chats with Destiny haha
26:26 dude you saying that your content is not valuable is insane to me. In a way, I am happy to see even people of your caliber have imposter syndrome it makes me feel better about myself. Recently, I watched a video of Sean Gares interviewing Bryce Blum regarding his article on the Esports Reckoning, I would love to hear your take on that subject (I watched your appearance on Montecristo's podcast, loved it.)
There really aren't that many people out there who are doing what you are doing, and so for people like me who really want to here thoughtful, well-informed perspectives on the creator economy, your content will always be worthwhile.
A popular Brazilian streamer here is still mad at twitch since you can't stream at a higher bitrate elsewhere and are locked to their terrible low one. His name is Cogumelando.
Love you Devin. Your stuff may not be what the average (dummy) zoomer likes to watch, so you're not 30 million views or whatever; but for smarter more patient and 'good' people it's A+. Which is honestly one of the best quality videos one can watch
Devin, I meticulously follow and glean insights from every single one of your videos, which without a doubt, are all brimming with value. They are incredibly informative and serve as a fantastic resource for individuals venturing into streaming/content creation, as well as for those who have been immersed in it for some time. Truly, there's a wealth of knowledge to be discovered for everyone.
Another amazing video man. I've been multi streaming for over a year now I can honestly say it's the best. also feel a bit weird going back to Twitch Affiliate when ive been so against it in almost every video haha
Devin your knowledge and presentation skills are top of the tree - thanks so much for the brilliant sharing. As someone who does all the backroom management and tech stuff for Venusworld on Twitch, where we have worked for over 5 years building up one of the warmest and most positive communities around, this is music to my ears (excuse the pun). Will be referring back often!
Awesome video as always Devin! 26:26 I have loved mutistreaming for the longest time. Found that it is nice for everyone who wants to live on the different platforms, but still wants to see my stuff. Also it is great to see you as enthusiastic about this too! Makes the video that much more fun.
Trustworthy, informative, and you have a natural talent to make things simple. You’re a pillar to understanding content creation and super thankful for your insight. 🙏🏽 26:26
great video devin. I wanted to ask is it worth getting partnered on yt first before you live stream here? for eg make videos and build a following on yt then stream once partnered?
Multi streaming does dilute your audience for smaller streamers, the people who just stop into the small stream aren't going to be interested enough in that streamer to check other websites to see if he is streaming on a different website that day, it works for giant streamers because people are obsessed with those specific streamers, so when their viewers check twitch, and the large streamer isn't online, they immediately check a different website, people who watch smaller streamers aren't going to switch websites looking for a tiny streamer who jumps platforms randomly.
I don't care if your video is shit, your voice is nice to listen to. Keep making more videos! Also I believe something was missing from your video. Isn't there usually a part towards to end that says ''Oh man if you watched it until this point, you're super cool, leave a comment so I can know who is super cool!'' Did I miss it? Yeah I know I'm cool
26:26 i really enjoy your videos as they are really insightful. i understand how you feel but do know me and I'm sure a lot of others value what you put out.
TWITCH has been shooting themselves in the foot for years. They have the livestreaming experience NAILED and they stayed undiscoverable. This is great news for creators and for TWITCH to get discovered. I prefer the livestreaming experience on TWITCH.

I've been waiting for this one lol😅 The second I heard Dan say it I immediately thought "Devin's gonna love this one".
Twitch is realizing gatekeeping streamers was not a good business plan and had no choice but to fold.
Your videos have TONS of value. Your insights are so valuable and I’ve learned a lot from this channel. Thank you!!
I went to an AMA panel at twitchcon with Dan Clancy and was honestly impressed with how he answered both simple and complex questions frankly and with a ton of nuance. Felt like I was watching a Devin Nash video (at least a little)
26:26 echoing what a lot of people are saying, but you content is one of the most sensible takes on how to build a business from content creation.
@@DatSamurai That's awesome! I hope to see more opportunities like this in the future!
.... twitch discoverability is far greater than youtube as far as streaming goes.... youtube streams are basically invisible to anyone who isn't already following you and even then they need to be looking for your stream
Yeah for RUclips Shorts are the best way at the moment
26:26 gang, your social media and marketing content is the best on youtube Devin don't stop making videos for fear of the quality, keep it up!
26:26, always watch all the way through, so informative and objective. Much love brother!
Let's go!!! This was the exact video I was waiting for since the announcement.
26.26 got to you from alok i am 28 studying applied psychiatry and think you are the 2nd best content creator after alok
Gaming is nice for entertainment and all love cohh asmon and co but this shit is real and important for MANY people. love your message of free speech and learning. keep at it at your pace you dont have to prove yourself to anyone
26:26 Devin. Every time something major happens I check my sub feed for your take. Please keep making videos 🙏
I appreciate and enjoy your videos and basically watch all of them to the end every time. Just so you know!
26:26 🙂 First time feeling positive for Twitch in years too tbh
26:26 here! I don't even have a reason to watch this, but it's really interesting to hear what you say about everything.
Thanks again for the great video Devin! 26:26 call out right here!
I'm not a creator, but I watch your videos so I can understand the options better and help my friends or the people who I watch where I can. Great video. 26:26
26:26 brother the content is keeping me from failing marketing class.
26:26 crew here. Thank you so much for your content! It's super informative, motivating, and entertaining. You have a whole crew of people here on YT who look forward to your uploads and get so much value from them. Be encouraged and keep it up! 💪🏻
And it's okay to go goblin mode on a game sometimes 😂
18:45 I was SOOO READY for the secret callout too...
Grerat insights into this massive change up at Twitch! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this. 26:26
"IT HAS BEGUN" - Shang Tsung (Mortal Kombat 1995)
Finally! Was waiting for you to drop this.
Gansta 2626 crew! Also your comments about Clancy spot on. He was everywhere during TC and was a constant social presence. Lastly, your YTs are great!
There really aren't that many people out there who are doing what you are doing, and so for people like me who really want to here thoughtful, well-informed perspectives on the creator economy, your content will always be worthwhile.
Been waiting for this video, its been a long time coming.
A popular Brazilian streamer here is still mad at twitch since you can't stream at a higher bitrate elsewhere and are locked to their terrible low one.
His name is Cogumelando.
Twitch con was almost all about moderation tools. It really feels like Twitch is going into maintenance mode.
good, its been needed.
26:26 Still watching and really enjoying your content Devin. I'm glad that Twitch have made these changes, it's about time.
Another amazing video man. I've been multi streaming for over a year now I can honestly say it's the best. also feel a bit weird going back to Twitch Affiliate when ive been so against it in almost every video haha
I love these videos, thanks so much for posting them
Thanks so much for this video as it was very informative. I've multi streamed for a bit before stopping, but now I'm eager to resume.
Didn't know you watched Devin. Small world. :D
What is a good way to simulcast if you have no excess internet or the CPU power to do it yourself?
Great video. I like that I knew almost everything you were going to say because I watch all the videos
I have been waiting for this video to come out, thank you for putting the twitch news into a very digestible format, much love.
I love Devin slowly realize he as become a college professor for content creators
Of course 26:26, every time. Great stuff again, missed you on YT!
We love your uploads devin!! 26:26 don’t stop!!
26:26 All in on your videos, as always. Your content is invaluable and entertaining. I look forward to it.
Your videos are super informative, Devin. For me, if you're making a video about a topic, then I know it's important. Keep up the great work, bro.
Trustworthy, informative, and you have a natural talent to make things simple. You’re a pillar to understanding content creation and super thankful for your insight. 🙏🏽 26:26
Devin's videos save my day, thanks for the knowledge!
great video devin. I wanted to ask is it worth getting partnered on yt first before you live stream here? for eg make videos and build a following on yt then stream once partnered?
Ive learned more about streaming from you than i have anywhere else. Please keep going. Your community needs you
Multi streaming does dilute your audience for smaller streamers, the people who just stop into the small stream aren't going to be interested enough in that streamer to check other websites to see if he is streaming on a different website that day, it works for giant streamers because people are obsessed with those specific streamers, so when their viewers check twitch, and the large streamer isn't online, they immediately check a different website, people who watch smaller streamers aren't going to switch websites looking for a tiny streamer who jumps platforms randomly.
Are you sure you understand what multi streaming is?
I'll give you the ego boost we all need sometimes.... BRO! Devin Nash is THE BEST person at talking about this stuff! 26:26
Yeah def should post more videos. Always enjoyed the insights and industry views.
