It needs an alarm function which goes off when someone tries to take it more than some distance away from the owner. Otherwise, what’s to stop people from stealing it? Also, it needs to be GPS locatable at all times.

Well anything over 5000 is a serious offence this alone takes you 75% of the way there. I can see why it hasn't gone fully mainstream yet, more improvements needed like a camera in the back and more colour options.

This looks perfect for my wife. She has heart problems and a bad back. She is very limited in her ability to carry groceries around the house ,laundry to the washer, etc.Hopefully the mini will help. .
It needs cameras in the back id hate to keep turning around, also drive terrain systems that works in snow and ice too
Things can happen .what about if brake down run out of battery does it comes with a pull handle . Otherwise double the work.

I was thinking about something like this for bike packing where you can free ride and a "thing" like this would carry your luggages.
I saw one for all-terrain, it called a "travelmate robotic cargo" . Just type that on the search, I think it might be what you're looking for:)
For my groceries I only have to open up the door. Amazon brings me stuff, no need for spending $3K.
Thanks for the real world test. I’ve been eyeing this and see that now there’s a mini. My only issue would be navigating the dog droppings on the NYC sidewalks. I fear all of that would come into my home via this gadget. Otherwise, I like it.
It probably comes with an alarm.
The original version had one pre-programmed into it. Just incase someone tries to run of with it or opens it without permission.
They now have a company that uses these to deliver food and drinks to you while you are waiting are you airport gate ✈️
