It is not just the ramen, it is the view walking through the streets, seeing the people, feeling the ambience of the environment. That walk in the rain was just perfection.
It's fine for couple of months. But just like Manhattan, it would get stuffy after that. Lack of greenery really makes me depress when I lived there. In my Opinion, Osaka and Nagoya are better in terms of life balance. It's lively, but not stuffy like Tokyo. Tokyo is only good for tourism.
I live in tokyo. I eat more than 100 cups of ramen a year. My 5 best Tokyo ramen is 1.sanji (ueno) 2.yatagarasu(kagurazaka) 3.kurosu(jinbocho) 4.ebimaru ramen(jinbocho) 5.honda(akihabara) These ramen shops are not well known to tourists, but they are the best ramen shops for Japanese foodies.
I'm Japanese. My favorite ramen is "iekei ramen". This ramen is based on tonkotsu and soy sauce. If someone has an opportunity to come to Japan, please try iekei ramen. I'm sure of you enjoying it.😆

Those little spaces of privacy to eat your meal alone and having only to fill in a menu with a pen is an introvert's dream! I LOVE it! I'd probably go out more if I could do this. I don't think we have anything like this in the UK. Unless you pay top money to go somewhere decent, you're almost certainly going to have someone kick off or some piss head have a go at somebody and ruin your meal. The Japanese appear to have a very respectful culture that doesn't exist here. I couldn't believe from some Japanese walkabout videos that people there can just leave their bikes unlocked all day in the town centres and it still be there when they go home! Be it rural places or city centres, you can lock your bike up in a double bind in a steel shed and it will still get stolen here in Britain! I even had my locked up mountain bike stolen from my first floor balcony once and they had to crawl over a greasy anti-thief 'proof' painted roof to get it. Nothing is respected.
It's respect, honor, and discipline. Just look at this part of the video 8:57 where I live those chopsticks would have been stolen or tampered. I wish I was Japanese.

I'll have to try some of those places the next time I go to Japan. I love ramen, and going to the Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum made me appreciate it all the more!
Recommendation from Japanese man : Taste the soup at first. And then enjoy the noodle and other ingredients. The taste of soup is often focused by the owner. So it is face of Rahmen.

Do more research. There are MUCH better places than these. Use ramendb, tabelog and online blogs. Don't rely on Google reviews where people give places 5 stars because they saw it on RUclips.
Yes I agree with nyquilnu! Also try the ramenbeast app if you have an iOS device. The places in the video are some of the most generic spots you can find. If it’s pouring rain and you still see a long line of people waiting outside, then that’s more likely to be a good ramen place. There are 3 Michelin star ramen places in Tokyo now that are really good. Konjiki Hototogisu, Muginae, Takano, Honda, Manchiken, Oyaji, Nikaido, and Jiro Ramen are some places I like among dozens more. I’ve been coming to Japan for about 7 years now and to mainly just eat ramen.

I've been to Japan a few years ago and I personally experienced on how to make order through their machine its amazing and the one I love the most is the Ramen the textures is perfect the taste is awesome. what a wonderful experience and I wish I could comeback ❤️❤️❤️😀😀

Now I know why I'm so hungry, my wallet is empty and I ordered 2 x gigantic pizzas 50 cm diameter, each on thin layer, but doubled with filled cheese and alot of seafood and meat and delicious Heinz ketchup full of uncommon ingredients on top of juicy ham and tasty onion swimming in 3-triple hot cheese, not to mention hot chili original pepperoni sauce. I've eaten 2 already, while watching all your juicy videos and if the last pizza finds place later in my stomach, I wil do it again morning. Thank You for motivation. Cool video, helps eating ;D
I must admit the Ramen shops there are very interesting!! It seems as though everyone has their own unique Style of making Ramen 🍜!! My choice would be 3rd place you went to!! I enjoyed the atmosphere there more everyone seem extremely nice and very friendly!! Agree with Ippudo anywhere in Japan (in Berkeley, it was subpar) and Jangara if you happen to be in Akihabara. Ichiran is good, but overpriced. Also, these are all chain stores, although admittedly, the first tier chains. There are some excellent local shops in Tokyo and many notable second tier ramen ships that can easily vie for the best ramen shop, depending on your preferences - there are so many varieties!

Family run ramen shops that have been in business for decades in dilapidated stores are better than chain ramen shop.
