As an ER nurse, this upsets me so bad. This man has shot 2 nurses and she’s screaming for the police not to shoot him? My heart aches for the lives lost 💔

I'm also a nurse and I've always felt not respected and dispensable by my employers and seeing this really hits home, they really offered them no protection, they had no idea someone dangerous was entering the hospital even though he had to have permission to enter the hospital from a court

@@modestnurse4324 My wife is a physician and has coworkers who practice at this hospital. I reminded her that when she hears gunshots that she should run _away_ from them not towards. They can't help injured people anyways, at least in the hospital. They have to take them to the ED. It's a liability thing. Dumb but true.
The most tragic part of all of this violence is the two innocent employees who lost their lives doing their job. A newborn was trapped in the middle of all of this chaos & craziness. I listened to the entire video & the stress it caused my heart was unbelievable. I cannot imagine dealing with these type situations on the daily. What makes me so angry is two innocent victims lay dying while he stalled with police.

And someone should make sure that baby gets adopted because it’s father will get the death penalty and it’s mother clearly doesn’t have any sense of right and wrong. It is horrifying. Last year we had a dad try to sneak his baby out in a car seat. Our birth recorder stopped him. The baby was on a DCS hold. DCS was going to place the baby with the grandmother but they couldn't get a hold of her. The mom and dad had murdered her and stuffed her in a barrel in their back yard. Before that I had another DCS hold where the dad threatened to "shoot" anyone that tried to keep him from taking his baby home. You never know who is going to walk into the unit and what they are going to do.

I don't know if this incident was handled appropriately by law enforcement or not, but seeing all the cops in the hospital hallway, sure gave me flashback of all the cops sitting in the hallway during the active shooting in Uvalde. What's up with Texas? I thought Texan's were bred to be fearless wild west gun slinging cowboys.
Yeah I'm not discrediting these cops or shaming them because I don't know all the details. At least it didn't take them 77 minutes to take control of the scene.
But based soley on the visual preception of this incident, you can't ignore how eerily similar their stance in the hallway resembles the stance law enforcement took in Uvalde.
Does anyone know what triggerd this guy in to thinking that the mother of the baby was unfaithful? Was it because of the baby?
Did he suspect after birth, that based on the babies apperance, the baby wasn't his?
Or perhaps the mother lied about when she was due, and it all came to head once the baby was born way to early in order for him to be the biological father?

@@andygomez0206 It's NOT a hostage situation, I trained people on this for 20 years. It's an active shooter situation and in those situations, you GO IN and neutralize the threat, period. It should be an accepted part of every officers mental acceptance that he/she may at some point in his career, have to go into a situation and risk (or even give) his life to save another. If as an officer, you cannot affirm that you are willing to do this, then you are in the wrong line of work. Because without that, there are no reasons for police officers to exist.

Everyone thinks that cops are supposed to act like in the movies. Remember they are human beings just like us and their life matter too. I'm sure they did their best according to their possibilities. Maybe not what we were expecting but no one can judge unless you are there in their shoes.

I struggled with this big time. The fact his probation officer let him go with his ankle monitor on in the first place should be held accountable in some way. The GF yelling not to shoot him. I'm pretty sure she purposely left out that 2 employees were dying on the floor and no one knew at the time. Then all you hear at the end is them tending to his leg GSW. I don't hear urgency for the employees. As a nurse, anger all the way around. I think the officer stayed calm and did well with the circumstances of a baby and Mom being in the room.

The hospitals can NOT secure the hospitals, but nurses in the entire country are denied the right to carry firearms for self defense. Their lives mean nothing to their employers. There should be some way to be a nurse with your 2nd amendment rights intact. There should be better security systems in place, but those cost too much money and hurts the hospital's bottom line.

I think you lack understanding on where the Officer was and his environment. There was also a child in the room. You don’t just charge in. This isn’t the movies.
Rushing in blind and alone could easily mean dead cop. Dead cop means free gun. Even in mass shootings, officers typically try to arrive in sync at least two at once. Go watch the louisville school shooting bodycam, exemplory performance yet the initial officer waited for his partners to run in with him. This officer did the best he could given the hand he was dealt, and I believe none of us have any room to sit here and backseat police given we have only a fraction of the understanding of what he was going through.
@@AugoZone you have points, but your interpretation of policy is wrong. During active shooter situations, the goal of the police is to intervene immediately and eliminate the threat. This was further re-examined following the uvalde mass shooting. No one is saying the officer isn’t at great risk, but that is what THEY signed up for, knowing they may encounter a situation where they don’t return home. Even if it’s just you, you rush and engage the threat with the goal of eliminating the threat as quick as you humanly can. It’s a incredibly tough situation as an officer but you made the commitment with your oath.

I was in Dallas a few days ago and I also was informed a rapper here and he she was brutally shot and killed he was shot five times last night I believe it was at a nightclub downtown that's the word on the street Houston Texas

Every time... Why are you armed as an officer if you're not able to go in there and use it. This is what 8 months of training gets us. These officers need to come out of the service... They're all great about giving out tickets, getting free meals, yes their human. But why do you have a gun if you are not able to enter and use it. The one doing all the screaming is the mother, and she's mostly screaming "don't shoot him" about the man who just pistol whipped her, and yes, there's a newborn in the room. The officer handling this was hit and negotiating to prevent more damage. Not exactly Uvalde.
