It's a variable speed driver I got on Amazon. The brand is no cry. Silly name but I've actually got two of them and they work really well. I've been using them for a couple of years now with no issues.
Cool, I might look into one of these trucks or a Kronos XTR vs a Sledge or Kraton V5 but i'm a little worried about parts support and car availability. I found a us Corally retailer called RC Hobby Explosion and i made an account there just in case.
Yeah they're the main parts distributor for the states. It's a little nerve-wracking that there aren't more options but I've been ordering spare parts from them for years now and I've never had an issue. They ship quickly and they seem to keep everything you need in stock.
It is but I have driven basically everything that's come out in the last several years pretty extensively and there are certain cars that just have a fun factor to them that you don't always get. This thing's got that fun factor. If it's also got the strength I expect it to it very well might be.
I received Kagama 2 day ago. it's really amazing design well. Agree about really low diff fluid have to swap to 1 million diff oil done. Will test running in few days.
I running both 4S and 6S with 1 million center diff oil at yesterday. Very crazy strong punch on 6S at stock level 3 punch. easily wheelie at high speed everything... I think 500k may be best choice for stable that kagama, but I forget to check motor temperature no way actually HIT 78C!!! 🤣 @@DoRC
@m0c1n89 Yeah I'm into stunts wheelies and other ridiculous antics so the thicker oil is better for me but if you want to keep those wheelies down thinner is definitely the way to go.

It really looks like CoRally have picked up their game after taking a beating over their claims in "Extreme" and really not making the mark. I really hope this car live up to its potential. I heard you say you didn't think much of the lid. That's too funny because I saw it and I thought, "Oh man, cool a Dakar style body" Nice! haha, just goes to show you man, horses for courses but we all love RC.
@basementracer7622 Yeah and in person the body's actually nicer than it is in pictures. Honestly though it looks fine and so far it is proving to be extremely durable. I've got a couple packs on it now. I haven't done anything extreme but the body still looks brand new. Not a single ding dent scratch or crack on it. That's rare.
I agree. 7075 is always better but it's also more costly. I know they have a 7075 option chassis available already. Doesn't seem necessary though as mine is still perfectly straight. I would like to do at least a 7075 front tower though as I have slightly bent my stock one. Not going to stop me from bashing but it is not perfectly straight anymore. Thanks for watching!

I hate to annoy you with questions rn I have this on layaway at my LHS it probably won’t be available till one or two weeks with that said there is no rush to pay it off with that said I can’t help but feel to try this kagama at the very least if I don’t like I hear the electronics are strong af I can always transfer that to my big rock 6s etc… should I wait on the Kraton or try this kagama ?

Yeah so far I am very impressed. There's a kind of intangible fun factor with RC cars and this one's got that in spades. It just makes me smile the entire time I'm driving it.

Probably weight and cost. It's probably both cheaper and lighter to use the reinforcement and a thinner chassis. You also get the benefit of the shock towers being reinforced at the same time.
Does the punisher shell fit? I about 80% sure about buying one but hate that shell. No offense to you as i like you and your videos but hoping kev gets one so we can see where the real weak points are
I'll be pushing this pretty hard in the next video. To be honest with you I'm not sure that using Kevin's videos to find the weak points is the best thing. Oftentimes the weak point is whatever Kevin happens to smash first. That doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a weak point for general bashing it just means that it's the thing that took the impact. I'm not sure if the punisher shell fits or not. I don't have one handy. I will say this body looks a lot better in person than it does in pictures and the way it's set up makes it extremely durable even without reinforcement.

I kow most of the time he just sends it and smashes it into stuff but in any case i'm more interested in your opinions on it. I'll be using mine at a BMX track if i get one so will probably be 15-20 foot high jumps once i get the hang of it again, which is probably about what your big ramp sends are.
@smart3k Yeah with the big ramp and the blocks under it 15 ft is pretty reasonable. The peak of a normal house roof is about 12 ft and I get a few feet above that. I think that's representative of the way most people will bash
I just gave it a once-over and there's nothing bent back there. The rear springs do curve a bit on the shock bodies so that might be what you're seeing. Thanks for watching!

So no not for me. But if team corally bought something out much more definitely type of car or truck basher yeah I would be interested 🤔. It's the same basic layout but most manufacturers keep the same basic layout. They have changed quite a few things. The chassis is new, the ABCD blocks and how they mount is new, the hinge pins are new, the arms are new, the entire center brace system as well as how it mounts to the shock towers and those shock towers themselves are new and a few other bits and pieces. A significant chunk of the car is the same as the previous generation but there have been a ton of updates done that have addressed quite a few issues that the previous generation had. This is definitely not just a Kronos with a different body.
@Moggmodels23 Yeah like I said it's based on the same platform but pretty much all manufacturers do that. Arrma has really only had three main platforms basically since they got big inception and have done incremental changes to those the whole time. I think coming up with a new platform every year would be counterproductive because each new platform would have issues and those issues would never get resolved and subsequent updates because a new platform would have to come out.

I agree. Most people will have tools but I just think if They're going to spend a little extra money spend it on tools instead of swag. The swag is cool don't get me wrong but maybe swag tools would be even better
If this thing turns out to be as durable as I'm expecting it to be based on the Asuga I think this one's a winner. There's an unquantifiable fun factor in this hobby and this car's got it in spades. I was smiling the entire time I was driving it and then I handed it to my elderly mom and she was smiling the entire time she was driving to. It's just fun.
Just to play devil's advocate... i've had the same bmx rims in 6061 and 7075.. the 6061 would bend but then be easily trued.. the more expensive 7075 felt stiffer but was basically permanently deformed after a good hit. My conclusion is 7075 seems stiffer but has nooo flex.
That's correct. 7075 is quite a bit stronger and will resist bending a lot better than 6061 but that same characteristic makes it much more difficult to bend back once it does bend.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The price isn't the cheapest in the world but this is a very high quality vehicle and puts a smile on my face that I haven't gotten in this hobby in a while. It's just fun.
@The_Hobby_Playground It is a little bit more than Arrma but it arguably has better electronics better aluminum better diffs and to me more fun factor but that last thing is subjective.
@@DoRC seems that nobody considers any of that. They used better materials than what's on their previous trucks, so of course price is gonna reflect that. They can't just GIVE away a stronger truggy.
It's an 8 minute video with a full minute of bashing in it. It's not hardcore bashing yet as I explained in the video that's coming next video but there's definitely bashing in it. I even punch a big hole in my ramp with it. Maybe consider rewatching :-)

It's based on the same platform as the Asuga which I have a lot of experience with and based on my experience so far with the kagama it definitely has that fun factor that's missing in a lot of RC cars out of the box. People get obsessed with one brand and fall in love with it, completely ignoring their favorite brand's faults (no company does everything perfect) and ignoring the other brands when they do something right. If there was only one good RC maker, then there would be no innovation and no competition, and sky-high prices. But people get that disease called fanboyism and it makes them irrational and judgemental, and "know-it-all" The disease is ultimately fatal and results in the person becoming boring and cranky.

Not sure. Maybe if you replace a bunch of other parts the center brace would be but it's all pretty tightly integrated.

I always like 7075 vs 6061 but that bracing looks solid enough to keep it together under bashing conditions.

Nice video as always but I wonder Do you know if the castle 1520 or the castle 1717 motor will fit the kagama ?
1520 should fit without problem. It looks like the 1717 will also fit though I would need to actually put one on to be sure.

Yeah it's right around there. Hobby recreation products always has a coupon you can use so you can get it for a bit less than that.

The Kagama looks like a really good truggy for the money, is it the same size as the Kronos?

The Arrma 6s backflips are better for this truck. Less ballooning.
Backflips are definitely good although I really like ballooning for air control so I think these work really well too
Corally is disappointment, too high price.
Traxxas has simple and easier to manage chassis and chassis brace.

Expensive???? For a 6S truggy??? You might wanna look at comparable prices for Traxxas and Arrma 6S trucks.

It's based on the same platform as the Asuga which I have a lot of experience with and based on my experience so far with the kagama it definitely has that fun factor that's missing in a lot of RC cars out of the box.
If this thing ends up being as durable as I expect it to be tomorrow it could be.

@@DoRCI swear, RC hobby has more angry haters than almost any other hobby, excepting video gamers.
People get obsessed with one brand and fall in love with it, completely ignoring their favorite brand's faults (no company does everything perfect) and ignoring the other brands when they do something right.
If there was only one good RC maker, then there would be no innovation and no competition, and sky-high prices.
But people get that disease called fanboyism and it makes them irrational and judgemental, and "know-it-all"
The disease is ultimately fatal and results in the person becoming boring and cranky.
@@Boogie_the_cat There are definitely plenty of people that are passionate about the hobby which is good but it can also lead to people getting unnecessarily upset.
