What do you think of my plan to covert a TLR typhon into a notorious stunt truck? I already bash it like a truck so why not. Only thing I'm not sure about is if the shock towers will work . Will definitely be an interesting project.
Honestly by the time you convert everything you'd probably be better off just selling the Typhon and getting a notorious. It would be a cool project but I'm not sure it would be the most financially sound option. Have you tried just putting some of these same 2.8 Badlands on your Typhon. Monster buggies are pretty cool.
@DoRC I can get the parts from jennysrc for about 250 for what I would need that I don't have already. This typhon is highly modified especially with RGB under-glow lights wirh specially made metal channels for the light strips. I tried monster truck tires once without adding long arms it just hit the body. I've seen truggified typhons. I basically want to keep as much of the TLR Stuff as possible especially the chassis. Took 3 years of playing with under-glow to find a solution that can take a beating and not break lights. 😊
@@Macgyver46 okay sounds like you have a pretty good plan in mind then. A lot of times people want to do these things but haven't really thought it through. I'd say go for it!
@DoRC oh its been thought out and beyond. I compared them and know the diff gears are different and the shock towers probably don't have the holes I need to mount everything. I already have 30-40% of the parts needed from other rigs I've had.
I always replace plastic servo horns with the same ones you do. I also just finished modding my No Cry driver per your instructions. It's perfect now. Thanks for that.
The gorilla clear dbl sided tape is real sticky . Super sticky . I still haven’t had any issues with the red m3 kind you used . Great build as always 👍. I ll bet them badlands made a world of difference .
Yeah I'm sure there are other options for double-sided tape. The bulk of my experience has been with VHB and I've had Good luck with it so I've never really tried anything else
The gorilla stuff is so strong, when I needed to remove it, I had to have a heat gun and a big thin spudger and a lot of time and patience. That stuff is nuts on porous surfaces at least.
I usually just get mine from a reputable seller on Amazon. I assume it's genuine because it works well but there is plenty of fake stuff out there so just get whatever is reviewed well
When I had a ec5 connectors I could never get them clicked in. I’ve been using xt90 anti spark on everything for years but with so many brands using ec5/ic5 I keep entertaining a switch. I just hate the sparking. All my esc connectors look brand new because of the anti spark tech, and you’re supposed to replace esc connectors about every 500 cycles with sparking connectors.
Yeah I normally use anti-Spark XT90s and QS8s but the ESC I put in already had an EC5 on it which is the sole reason why I ended up using an EC5 on the battery:)
@@TheflyingkiwiRC yea I’m not doing that. One pair of IC5 is the same cost as FIVE PAIRS of xt90 anti spark or ten pairs of sparking type. Horizon can suck my dick for that. If anything. I’d get a few SC5s to start. I guess IC5 isn’t bad if you but a bulk pack but I’d be pissed the day I was one connector short and had to spend $60 to not get price gouged. Also, with the few times I’ve used IC5, I’ve melted the connector in half of them, so I think the plastic they use is shit. I’ve never melted a amass connector
Good upgrades. A guy could definitely do better than those Techno shocks but they did work & you had them on hand . The ESC really brought that rig to life. 42mph is plenty for a basher rig. That servo would make a nice addition to almost any 1/10 scale running a stock servo from the big 2.
Yeah I'm sure there are plenty of options for shocks. These did work okay but are certainly not the best choice. I have no doubt someone else will come up with a better solution
It's bigger potentially more powerful out of the box seems similar in durability I would say is maybe half a step down in build quality. I think it handles fairly similarly as they are both kind of stiff on big jump landings. They're about equal to work on though this one has more larger screws which is nice. This one has more standard parts as the servo in the OT is a weird size. Overall I'm having a difficult time really thinking about which one would be better. I'd say just look at them and pick whichever one you think seems cooler to you. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way.
@@DoRC I really do. I need to get back on track and get my tutorials underway again. I was doing very well for a long time then sorta gave up for some reason.
@@ragercrepair9301 I definitely understand that. The only reason I'm able to buy new cars is because I sell pretty much everything I buy. I'm not one of those guys that has a huge collection. It's still a money losing proposition but it definitely helps.

One of a kind brother! I do need a servo btw the motor in my spectrum just hit tha dirt, go figure tho right! Take it easy
Great video. I always learn something from your videos. I’m going to try one of those servo horns you mentioned on a hammer rey to see if it improves handling…🤞
It may or may not. In this case the stock servo horn was physically loose which meant that it would never center the same way twice but if the servo horn you already have doesn't have any problems upgrading it probably isn't going to make much difference. That being said it's a cheap thing to try so go for it :-)
I don't really like putting links for two reasons for the first one is that links are always changing and keeping up with making sure they're all valid in hundreds of videos is a lot of logistical overhead. The second and more important when those I don't want people to think I'm trying to sell them anything because I'm not.
Nice review, I'm glad to see all hex hardware but I'm still leery of these Chinese brands. You can get a Maverick Quantum2 Flux for $275 at Amain Hobbies vs $250 and waiting for the slow boat from China. The earlier Maverick Quantum trucks had some issues from what I've seen, but the newer versions have been fixed apparently which is why Amain is willing to sell them now. Would love to see you do a review of a Maverick Quantum2 Flux and compare to this MJX.
Those bent shocks will probably be very common with the amount of flex that chassis has. All that plastic will bend a lot more than metal shocks. Might actually be a good candidate for some 3s Arrma plastic shocks.
I might agree except I popped the caps on the same shocks in their original vehicle which has an aluminum chassis. I think it's just a weakness of the shocks.
I'd say it depends on what you already have. If you're buying your first basher or a truck that's going to be your primary basher I would say get the outcast. It's a great truck and parts and upgrades will be more readily available. If you already have some cars and you're just looking to experiment with something new I'd say get this. It's cheaper and pretty fun.

Well hopefully the information I'm giving you is accurate. I'm getting it straight from MJX so it should be. Overall I think this is a pretty good deal. Especially at the $260 AliExpress price it undercuts a lot of the competition and has a lot to offer.

I guess I am going to have to get me one of these. I was worried about the ride hight but after seeing this it's kind of a simple fix! Give me that servo!
Yeah it seems to handle the extra down travel pretty easily though The best way to increase ride height in my opinion is just to go with bigger tires. The 2.8 Badlands seem like a great option.
People on the Team Corally forums told me EC5 is only rated for 60 amps. That didn't quite match up with the figures i saw online but I'm no expert. I doubt Arrma is dumb enough to use them on 6s RCs if they're rated that low. Still, there are two different numbers i see online about their amp limits: 60 and 125 Got any hard data on them ? Thanks.
Unfortunately the specification numbers are all over the place. I have seen as low as 40 amps continuous continuous. Given how they compare and dimensions to the XT90 which I know is rated at 90 amps I suspect it's closer to the 120 amps
Honestly at the price you can get them for on AliExpress I really think it's worth getting. This thing's a little tank and even stock it's a lot of fun.

Yeah I've got enough packs through it now to be pretty confident that it's a good truck. The changes I made to it put an awful lot of additional stress on everything and it still held up really well. No matter what vehicle you have there's always going to be a subset of people who have a bad experience whether it's luck or they just got a bad example or maybe they just don't like them etc but overall I think people are going to be happy with this one especially at the AliExpress price
@DoRC I bough a MJX 14210 one and a half month ago, I'm still getting into the hobby, finding the enjoyment and I'm having fun for now. If in 6 months I'm still in love with the hobby, I'm almost certain that the MJX 10208 will be the truck I will get. I think I will not go wrong from what I have seen so far. 😊

Yeah it's hard to go wrong for the price. I keep a few of them on hand for just this sort of occasion.
I wonder what arrma 6s shocks would fit it. Typhon maybe
I took a look at a couple I had on hand and they were too long.
@@DoRC the vorteks has the same issue. The shocks are just odd enough of a length
Can you share with me the link to the shock absorbers please?
They're the kit shocks for the MT410 2.0.
Hi , Where did you get MJX Hyper Go 10208. Thank you.
I got it from MJX for review but you can get it on hypergo RC website or AliExpress.
@@DoRCI couldn’t find RC website. Would you be willing to share the website. Is Hypergo website that you are suggesting US based. Thanks
@YeshuaGrl hypergorccar.com/product/mjx-hyper-go-10208-rc-car/
Keep in mind this is more expensive than if you buy it on AliExpress.
@@DoRC THANKS
I always replace plastic servo horns with the same ones you do. I also just finished modding my No Cry driver per your instructions. It's perfect now. Thanks for that.
Nice! Glad the screwdriver mod worked for you.
Hoping to see other versions and designs with this size! Great review btw!
Yeah it'll be interesting to see what different styles they come up with using the same chassis.
Can we get a link to the VHB double-sided tape please?
I usually just get mine from a reputable seller on Amazon. I assume it's genuine because it works well but there is plenty of fake stuff out there so just get whatever is reviewed well
@@DoRC sounds good. Thanks for the reply 😎🤙🏽
Who's going to get that servo?
Maybe you!
Hey man, I am trying to decide between this and the Omni Terminator, which do you prefer?
Probably the OT. It's a more refined vehicle and whereas I'm not sure it's actually anymore durable I like the design a little bit better
@@DoRC Thanks very much!
Use an IC5 connector instead. Super easy to solder, no clicking on required 😂
Thanks for doing the modifications to the truck. I may have to seriously consider one. Love the channel.
I'd recommend giving it a try. Even without the upgrades it's a pretty fun truck.
How does this compare to the rlaarlo terminator?
It's bigger potentially more powerful out of the box seems similar in durability I would say is maybe half a step down in build quality. I think it handles fairly similarly as they are both kind of stiff on big jump landings. They're about equal to work on though this one has more larger screws which is nice. This one has more standard parts as the servo in the OT is a weird size. Overall I'm having a difficult time really thinking about which one would be better. I'd say just look at them and pick whichever one you think seems cooler to you. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way.
@@DoRC cool thanks
As another rc channel, I love how thorough your videos are. Great job as always!
Thanks Glad you enjoy!
@@DoRC I really do. I need to get back on track and get my tutorials underway again. I was doing very well for a long time then sorta gave up for some reason.
@ragercrepair9301 It can be difficult to stay motivated especially if things are slow. Consistency is definitely important though.
@@DoRC it truly is. Honestly finds to keep up with new cars is what killed me. Family and 3 kids is expensive these days in itself.
@@ragercrepair9301 I definitely understand that. The only reason I'm able to buy new cars is because I sell pretty much everything I buy. I'm not one of those guys that has a huge collection. It's still a money losing proposition but it definitely helps.
Do I get a servo horn with it
Yeah it's got some servo horns in the box.
Dude your channel is great man i actually look forward for new vids to drop! Between the information and testing you do with these trucks it takes the guessing out of buying/upgrading our touys lol . One of a kind brother! I do need a servo btw the motor in my spectrum just hit tha dirt, go figure tho right! Take it easy
Awesome glad you're enjoying! I really love making these videos and interacting with you guys so keep watching and commenting :-)
That being said it's a cheap thing to try so go for it :-)
Can you start adding a link for the RC vehicle you're testing.
I don't really like putting links for two reasons for the first one is that links are always changing and keeping up with making sure they're all valid in hundreds of videos is a lot of logistical overhead. The second and more important when those I don't want people to think I'm trying to sell them anything because I'm not.
Thanks for replying and your videos are some of the best ones out there. Keep um coming.
@@claudeclingerman1081 will do!
Stay tuned. I've got the new pre-ordered. I kind of missed the boat on the monster truck so I'm excited to get this one.
Nice, I've been eyeing off this MJX. Pretty keen now after watching this vid. Loving your work as always. Keep up the great work👍🏼
With the experience I have now on the truck I'd say it's definitely worth picking up especially at the aliexpress.
Great video dude keep it up...
Thanks glad you enjoyed :-)
Awesome video man I love watching you take them apart. Thanks for doing the giveaway and Good luck to everyone
Glad you enjoy!
Love your videos, great to learn a lot about the hobby and the tech behind it
Glad you enjoy thanks for watching :-)
Nice upgrades. Contemplating this or outcast v2.5
Hi Do
Watch you all the time.
When I have issues I look up your videos cuz you're so thorough about everything I can see everything and I don't have to take it apart
You have a lot of knowledge I enjoy watching all your videos
Awesome glad you enjoy!
Nice vid. Really like that Servo! 7:22
Glad you enjoyed the drawing will be soon.
Thanks for your awesome video, its great to see what you can upgrade to get more out of our hobby!
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching :-)
Great video as usual and i like what you did with thing! Looks like a beast! i was happy to see that esc you used as I've been considering grabbing one of those combos for quite a while now 😅
It's not a perfect ESC but I think it's the best value for money on the budget side.
Excellent video, great info, not too short or long. Keep on rolling.
Will do!
Thanks man for doing these RC upgrades in a way that we can ALL try to accomplish the same thing without wasting money....these things are expensive enough!
Yeah it can be a very expensive hobby especially when you start upgrading
😢great video as always,I haven't came across any channel do what you do as far as taking every rc you test fully apart to show everyone the quality of the build and just proper maintenance. Keep the videos coming. Other people as well as my self learn something on all your videoos!!!!!
Glad you're enjoying and there's plenty more to come!
Ooh, love the new shocks! Haven't seen it rip yet, so hopefully they work as good as they look
Yeah they're not too bad.
Awesome. Definitely plan on getting one.
So far it's a pretty good truck!
@DoRC I got the h14bm for my daughter and she loves it
@@stevenblackard2204 It is a good tough little truck though can be hard to handle it full power and sometimes can be a pain to work on. It does represent good value for money though!
@DoRC yah she stripped out the rear differential. The replacement should be in today. She can't wait to have her truck running again. It's crazy that mjx made a 40+ mph truck that my 5 year old can handle. Other than shocks the differential is the first significant break or malfunction and she's been bashing it for months. The entire lineup of mjx hypergo on amazon is extremely impressive. And can't wait to get the 10208.
O and the steering rods she has broke one of the plastic ends of the steering rods aswell
Looks good. Will be interesting to see what the actual actual final version of this ends up looking like, v2 or 2.1 or otherwise.
What you saw in the original video is the final version.
I totally agree with you on the Amazon servos, they are somewhat powerful, but very slow. Still worth the money
Yeah I think it just depends on what you're sensitive to. I'm so used to fast servos that I find I actually have trouble controlling the vehicle when the servo is too slow because it always feels like I'm fighting it.
i especially enjoy hearing you talking! Your tone is fun, energetic and passionate!
Thanks glad you enjoy!
This lil' truck is becoming more and more appealing to me after seeing your videos. And, at approx $250, it's a must have; I think I'm gonna replace my brushless E-Maxx with one of these and maybe an Omni Terminator.
Keep the videos coming.
Yeah this would be a massive step up in terms of durability from the emacs. I think it'd be a little bit smaller but a lot more capable
Those wheels are awesome, the way you can change the hex.
And I've changed all my cars over 1/14 scale to EC5 and it makes a difference! I always tape my battery leads when I cut each one.
I'd also love to win a servo😁
I'm surprised that EC5 would make much of a difference at that scale is those ESCs don't usually flow a lot of current but bigger is better.
Cool upgrades. Always get nervous wiring up lipos. 😂 not had an issue so far.
Yeah the part where you've got one pin done and your soldering the other one on always gives me a little bit of the pucker factor. I've made contact a few times and it's pretty spectacular.
@@DoRC QS8’s are the worst. Plus you’ve got 500 in the lipo. 😫😫
Another killer video brother.... do they make aluminum caps for them shocks might be a good option if they do and you really want them shocks on it
They do they just weren't available when I first got the kit and I haven't gotten around to really messing with it since putting it together. It's just been sitting on a shelf until I grab the shocks for this video. I have them ordered now
That servo would be a great upgrade for my MonsterPede!
Sounds like a good use case. I'll be doing the giveaway soon.
Best video yet on the MJX Hyper Go 10208. Too much misinformation out there on this model. Personally, at the current price point, I would give this model a miss. Better out there already.
Well hopefully the information I'm giving you is accurate. I'm getting it straight from MJX so it should be. Overall I think this is a pretty good deal. Especially at the $260 AliExpress price it undercuts a lot of the competition and has a lot to offer.
@@DoRC You're doing a great job as always fella. I actually un-followed a channel the other day regarding this car and the misinformation being spread out there.
@@rcfools I'm glad you're enjoying!
That car is badass with those upgrades it’s came alive
It's pretty fun out of the box too but yeah this definitely woke it up
I guess I am going to have to get me one of these. I was worried about the ride hight but after seeing this it's kind of a simple fix! Give me that servo!
Yeah it seems to handle the extra down travel pretty easily though The best way to increase ride height in my opinion is just to go with bigger tires. The 2.8 Badlands seem like a great option.
@DoRC great entertaining video btw!
Nice upgrade. Maybe V2 can have these applied ;)
Maybe but I will say that even this release version is pretty darn good out of the box.
People on the Team Corally forums told me EC5 is only rated for 60 amps.
That didn't quite match up with the figures i saw online but I'm no expert.
I doubt Arrma is dumb enough to use them on 6s RCs if they're rated that low.
Still, there are two different numbers i see online about their amp limits: 60 and 125
Got any hard data on them ? Thanks.
Unfortunately the specification numbers are all over the place. I have seen as low as 40 amps continuous continuous. Given how they compare and dimensions to the XT90 which I know is rated at 90 amps I suspect it's closer to the 120 amps
Nice little truck. First upgrade video I've seen. 😊
Yeah it's only been out a little while.
Man the more times i see this truck in action the closer my finger gets to squeezin the trigger on purchasing one.😮😂
Honestly at the price you can get them for on AliExpress I really think it's worth getting. This thing's a little tank and even stock it's a lot of fun.
Love the info you provide on this channel
Yeah I would be doing all this stuff on my own anyway so I might as well share it :-)
Top notch Sir thank you ! Appreciate the upgrades so fast and the chance to win a servo 🙏
Glad you enjoyed the drawing will be soon!

Great upgrades. Same esc I’m putting into hbx 2995.
It is probably the best budget ESC you can get.
Running gtr shocks and badlands on my stampede 4x4 vxl great setup
Yeah I really like these Badlands. I've put them on a lot of different vehicles and I don't think I've ever been disappointed in them.

Gonna do this to mine for sure when I get it!
It's definitely a fun upgrade!

Great video! You have one of the best RC car RUclips channels. It seems that this 1:10 MJX is an excellent platform. Beside one RUclipsr, I think all the others had a great time with the 10208 and really enjoyed bashing it. 😊
@lsismeiro Yeah I agree. It's certainly not without its flaws but overall seems to be a good platform.
I wouldn’t never consider buying this car- until this video! Hook me up with that sick servo! Lol
It's actually a pretty good in stock form too.
Seems quite a good rig! Like someone already said, you were really fast on the upgrade! :p
Well there were two reasons for that. The first one is that I really wanted to get it done but the second one is that I actually delayed release on the first video until I heard back from MJX. I didn't want to give you guys bad information.
@@DoRC thoughtful of you. Thanks!
I try thanks for watching :-)
Awesome tire choice. Looks way better
