Damn, this looks great! It’s like half life 2 from another universe. This feels like a more serious gritty version. Valve originally had a more gritty version of half life, but they cut and changed a lot of content to make it more appealing to a wider audience. I’m guessing the modders are trying to add it back in. Very interesting nice mod! Looking forward seeing it finished. It seems a little rough around the edges still. But it’s early access so I can’t blame them lol. Great work with the video, nice pacing!
In hearing the Administrator's speach again with adult ears. Sounds like he's actually a good guy. An observer. Not to interfere, but to encourage Freeman on his path to the liberation of mankind. The resonance cascade was always supposed to happen. And the sellout (Gordo - cut the pony tail) was always intended to correct it. Food for thought.

I think that simply changing the name of carachters and locations, it could easily become an effective spin off, like Opposing Forcex. HL2 beta was set in north America, instead to eastern Europe. So, why dont' create a parallel story in the US, maybe with Adrian Sheperd from Opposing Force?
@KEntoREko It would be nice, but i think the chances are slim. Valve aren't really interested in renovations, remakes. Besides i don't think they have good memories of this period (HL2 beta fiasco). Maybe I could imagine Valve supporting them like they did with the Crowbar Collective (Black Mesa).
Too much light in the windows of the background buildings. There's not a soul in the nearly deserted city, and it's as if the masses are there in the background.
Hey mate good walktrought without annoying commentary and no rushing,what specs are you using? Do you get fps drops or stuttering? For me this mod runs very bad with very low fps and i can't seem to fix it,it seems to be very poorly optimized...

(i7-6700k; 32gb ddr4 @ 3200mhz; rtx3070ti; z270 motherboard) I haven't experienced serious frame drops, or shuttering during the gameplay (recording). My RtBR graphic settings were: 4k rez; 8xmsaa; vsync*On; texutresl*High; model detail*High; shaders*High; shadows*High; 8x texture filter; multi core process*On; motion blur*Off. I could say the usual hl2 (source) settings.

@Argon Hi! RtB is based on HL2 unfinished / hacked / stolen early concept or 'beta' if you more like it. There are significant differences in content between the beta and the 2004 retail version. Only 35 minutes into this HL2 version and all this looks way too depressing. I see no hope, no future, total depression and only death. Dont we have enough oppression/manipulation/control/abuse in our everyday lives? What do you think you can do against a world in total lockdown? Hell would be less uncompromising then this. If this world had 1 billion Gordon Freemans and would not stand a chance! I cant even watch it!

I fully accept this. This 'bla bla bla' (as you said) was way longer than the original retial's introductory sequence by default. And as i wrote in the video's description, i've never played with this mod before. It nailed me and i wanted to show it a bit slower than the usual run-through. (I don't think that im alone with that.) Thats why "No Rush" on the thumbnail, btw. If you can't accept this, or bother you, than this content obviously not for you. I'm sorry about that. It might be cut content/beta, but in my opinion this game looks much better than the original hl2. Im a big fan of all the valve games

When I buy Gmod and half-life 2 i will probably also download this mod (I also don't expect to buy GMod Half-Life in the next two years)
