I was trying to learn each feature on my own then remembered that I had watched many of your videos when deciding whether to get an X3 in the first place. thanx for doing thorough tutorials even while having an even more in depth course. =)
Thank you very much I bought the 360 deg cam second hand and started to lose ma patience trying to use it:):) now hopefully I will be able to film some nice 360 deg shoot for my channel:)
What are the odds???!!! I buy the Insta360 X3 for a trip to Australia and yours is the first video I find showing how to use the software. Back in the states and can't wait to edit SYD NYE Fireworks from Barangaroo and our Barrier reef diving!! Thanks for the informative and easy to follow instructions! Cheers!!
Hi Ben thanks for your videos, I bought the Insta360 X3 but I'm not so happy, I follow your videos and tutorials with interest, and I hope to change my mind about this 360 camera ! Greetings from Italy
Hi Ben, Many thanks for the insta360 studio version tutorial! I find it is difficult to edit on the mobile. Wish they would bring all the editing features available on mobile to the studio version, jump cut is a great feature. With the Insta360 studio version being so limited, what is the best way to trim out segments from a longer video?
This video is still reverent a year later! This taught me a lot. There's MANY new features in the Insta360 studio so a revisit might be really great, especially for us new X4 owners!
By the way, as I'm editing... I notice that it's taking stupidly long to export videos. Like a half hour export takes a couple of hours and I'm using a 5900x + 32gb ram + 3080ti and the software barely touches the resources...
Well Mr B i have had my 360 stuck in the draw for the past month but now its out and ready for my next adventure. Always look out for your videos as you speak in a language you can understand followed you for years. I combine my videos from my dji mini 2 with insta 360s 2x. thanks again for giving me that get up and get out feeling.
Thank you for this video, took me a while to get used to how you need to key frame start and then again if you want to reframe it to add another key frame but gets easier the more you keep repeating it, thank you for explaining how it works 😎😎😎😎😎😎
Glad I watched this. I didn’t know they added that guide feature hidden in the Windows menu. That was my number one update wish. I even requested it on their community Facebook page. I used to resort to sticking removable tape in an ‘X’ over the viewing screen to mark the center.
Hi Ben. Love the video very well put together. I do however want to ask if there is any way to string multiple clips together if thats possible from here ? Thanks
Thanks Ben... Editing the 360 video looks like it's quite a bit of messing about... But it seems that no other video editing suite is needed, is that right? I could film an entire days outdoor activity, edit it with the 360 suite and then its ready for RUclips?
Awesome, now, when it comes to displaying gps data overlays, do I have to record my route on a separate device like a Garmin gps device like a watch, bike gps & import the FIT or GPX file to sync with Insta 360 clips in the studio editor or the Insta 360 x4 already has that & I can just record my video & it will display where I was, how fast I was going, elevation & those other good stuff when I tell him to?
Great tutorial thanks! I am wondering still though, how can I combine several videos together like in the app without having to buy additional software for the PC?
Thank you for your tutorial. I consider myself a competent video editor, but this software perplexes me. My first time recording with the Insta 360 RS 1-inch (what a mouthful) and I recorded myself driving along a promenade, its one long clip and runs in at 30mins in length. My question to you, it appears to not be possible to cut, trim the timeline into sequences (once I have changed the camera angle) I do not want to include keyframe transitions (i.e camera moving into place) is the only option for me to import into Premiere or Resolve to make these adjustments there? I am aware of creating another project, like for what you mention, one project say in a timelapse sped up, but say I wanted to have one shot of me driving, followed by another shot of what I am driving towards, at the exact same place (for continuity) how would I do this without seeing the keyframe transition? I hope I am making sense ;) Thank you for your guide.
Another excellent video, very well explained Ben! One question - when I import clips into 360 Studio to work on and then close it, the imported files are no longer there when I reopen Studio. I have to re import them again. Am I doing something wrong?
You are both my main inspiration and source for the latest information. What I really miss in Insta360 Studio is those precise manual view controls when reframing a photo (which is what I mostly do). Unless I am missing something? And it seems like zooming with my mouse wheel also changes the fisheye, which is not what I want. Plus, it is not very granular. A single keyframe box like we have on the video side would be ideal. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Excellent tutorial Ben - thanks very much. One question - I've just installed Studio v5.2. At minute 3:56 you talk about the "Project Management" option - on my version it is titled "Clip Management" - is this significant?
Thanks for all the details. I am not sure why but my exported movement I created by keyframes goes total differently than I set it in the 360 studio. any idea why?
Great video! One issue I always seem to find when I am key framing, is the transitions. I start the key frame point, and then move the scene. Do I then need to place another key frame point to stop the panning transition so that it is stays locked when I wanted it? I tried direction lock, but it still pans from point to point. Am i doing something wrong here?
I only have the small selfie stick that it comes with. So far all my videos are sooo warpy. I dont know if its because im using premium lens guard or if I need to by extended stick?
Hi, thanks for the videos! Question: I could swear you showed how to scrub through the file in the large full screen window vs the smaller scrubbing window. I can't seem to find it, please advise, thanks!
Hi Ben, Studio is my favorite software for simple editing with Insta cameras. I rarely use the app although fun with all the effects it offers. In fact, I only use 360º cameras for VR. Thanks for your input...👍
👍Good stuff - I have saved this video because I am still using a GoPro Max • I may pull the trigger this fall on an Insta 360 camera from B&H Photo in NYC. I like the GoPro Max because I can mount this camera on a model train flat car and run it through a tunnel. Looks like the Intra 360 is to tall to go through a model train tunnel. Take care: Gary from Michigan USA 🚂
thanks for this great tutorial it is very helpful for beginners. One question thanks do you get more options on the right toolbar with 360 videos than normal videos shot with the 4k boost lens? talking about the one rs thanks
Hey Ben, no one said I was tech savvy and here's the proof....."and it's SO easy to use" LOL! So I'm editing a video, say 60 seconds out, normal view. I'll then push + and add a keyframe and select tiny planet. Then I go back before the keyframe and it has also change the first 60 seconds to tiny planet. I know it's something very easy but I can't figure it out. Ive tried clicking on the + to see if there's a way to lock it from changing.....but alas, I sit here frustrated but knowing the answer id blowing in the wind. Thanx! Todd
Thank you for this instructional video! 🙂 Insta360 Studio 2024 freezes with long 360 videos (8+ minutes) with many Key Frames or Deep Tracks. My 128 GB 32 CPU desktop is not immune to this bug. Regardless of how patient I am (waiting at the HOURS level) Inst360 Studio never recovers beyond the 8 minute mark in my Insta360 x3 video.
Hi Ben having a issue with reframing video from my old 360 one x in latest insta studio PC l can't pan left or right the footage to key frame it to the direction l want. I use the cursor on the footage or toggle the angle of view parameters but nothing allows me to adjust the video view just left or right. I am using both files for the clip
So im new to all this and im a little confused about 360 studio. It says it has premiere plugin. But i still need to buy premiere correct? I would assume so but wasnt sure so i didnt want to buy it if i didn't have to
I love your channel! On the deep tracking, is there a way to "uncenter" the tracking so the tracked area shows, say, near the lower left corner of the frame instead of centered? I have tried unchecking the "Center the target" checkbox but it seems to work the same either way - the tracked area always goes to the center.
Hi Ben, have you had success editing a 360 video on the mobile app in ViewFinder mode, then saving the edits to your camera sd card ( .insdata file.) Then importing the video files into Studio to make more edits or just export at a higher quality? Thanks

Hands down the best tutorial I’ve seen. Just bought a X3 and had no clue how to edit the videos. 😂
Glad to hear it!
Thanks from England 🏴
I got as a gift my insta 360 ❤
Really useful, thank you Ben!
thanks buddy ! great video
Great walkthrough, thanks!

Editing is always better on the computer. also the export quality on the computer is better :)

I kept away from insta 360 because of the tiny planet thingy. But now I know there is so much more to it.
Thank you! It's an awesome starting point for me.
You make it look easy!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! Excellent tutorial!
My pleasure 😇

Wonderful tutorial!!!
Great video, awesome pointers and straight to the point with the basics. I'm looking forward to some more lesson, you got a new sub.
Well explained
thank you very much for uploading this video

Great tutorial on how to use the Insta360 Studio. Thanks for sharing.
I have just enough experience that this video answered a number of my questions - thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
That video was very helpful to me. Thanks, Ben! 👍😀
thank you brother

Hi Ben, it's me again! :) Is the studio (Mac) only used for reframing? After that, I can export and use the Insta360 app to add music etc? Thank you!
Great video Ben, definitely a good addition to your courses.
Thank you!
thanks a lot very clear explanation
hi Ben,
this is very helful for me
Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for posting this, just starting to use my Insta 360 and this helped a lot.
Glad it helped!
Good Morning Ben, am I correct in assuming you can only trim the video clip start and end points and nothing in between. All the Best, James.
thank you for all the good info. how do u put together all small clip into one big clip. what software do u use
Hi Ben, do you have any minimum system suggestions to run “studio” on Mac?
Awesome, now, when it comes to displaying gps data overlays, do I have to record my route on a separate device like a Garmin gps device like a watch, bike gps & import the FIT or GPX file to sync with Insta 360 clips in the studio editor or the Insta 360 x4 already has that & I can just record my video & it will display where I was, how fast I was going, elevation & those other good stuff when I tell him to?
Nice content. Thank you Ben.
This is so helpful - thank you so much for making this video. It is greatly appreciated.☀️
Glad it was helpful!
Nice💪
thanks man amazing!
No problem!
Great tutorial thanks! I am wondering still though, how can I combine several videos together like in the app without having to buy additional software for the PC?
It’s not possible. See my previous video ‘which 360 video editor should you use’ 👍🏻

So, after all these years, they STILL haven't added the ability to combine multiple clips. Oi!
What u mean ?
To stitch several recordings into the same video. That is exactly what I was trying to figure out
Yes. It is a pain to add 360 videos on other software. It could be useful to add them in insta360 studio itself and adding text / effects etc
@@ramlinz5953 The paid for a version of Davinci Resolve can't handle 360 video. But I haven't tried it yet.
The new version does this
I only have the small selfie stick that it comes with. So far all my videos are sooo warpy. I dont know if its because im using premium lens guard or if I need to by extended stick?
Cool 😎🤝
Editing in Pro mode on the iOS app, how do I add keyframes so that the edit "cuts" from keyframe to keyframe rather than the panning between each one?
Hi, thanks for the videos! Question: I could swear you showed how to scrub through the file in the large full screen window vs the smaller scrubbing window. I can't seem to find it, please advise, thanks!
You can just drag the playhead to scrub 👍🏻
When would you use regular video vs hdr
Thanks. I'll be downloading footage to give to client, can you enter the serial number of my camera more than once, so they too can use it?
Hi. Does insta360 studio works with Mac mini 8GB 512gb ssd? Thanks
How do you add music or you must do on your phone? Also can you export the edited clips back onto the camera?
Hi Ben, Studio is my favorite software for simple editing with Insta cameras.

Thanks Gary- actually you can just angle the X3 so it misses the tunnel. Or- the One RS has a much lower profile so will easily fit.
@@BenClaremont Thanks for the tip - I like the angle the X3 - The X3 would be great for rail-fanning. Capture 360 stills & 360 videos Gary 🚂
So no short lab or flash cuts outside from the insta360 app on mobile device ?
thanks for this great tutorial it is very helpful for beginners. One question thanks do you get more options on the right toolbar with 360 videos than normal videos shot with the 4k boost lens? talking about the one rs thanks
Yes as there’s more factors involved with 360 footage 👍🏻
Hello, do i have to use another software to add all my edited files into one? With kind regards,
Yes
Is there a way to speed up or hyperlapse a short section of footage without it speeding up the entire clip? I can't seem to work this out
Hey Ben, no one said I was tech savvy and here's the proof....."and it's SO easy to use" LOL! So I'm editing a video, say 60 seconds out, normal view. Hi Todd, just add another keyframe before that with the perspective you want to use 👍🏻
How fast are you at exporting a 30min 360 video from your current editing setup compared to your previous?
In the latest (5.1.0) Insta360 Studio, there is no selection for 360 videos inside Export?
can add clips of different vids into one longer onew?
Is there any way or app to clip together multiple 360 clips in just one and export in 360 format? I want to keep 360 so I can see it with vr goggles
Watching this video, what additional value the course provides worth the spend? Just curious.
Hi Touseef, you can learn more about the course on the sales page which is linked in the description.
You convinced me to get this instead of a 9th GoPro cuz they keep breaking
Hi, thanks for the video... I`ve got a question: and how to export 360 videos (not flat, reframed) with GPS Stats?? Thanks in advance.
If you want the GPS stats you need to record when controlling your camera with your phone.
Thank you for this instructional video! 🙂

You don’t have to, you can use any video editor once you’ve reframed the clips.
Thx for video, but how to change default view of 360 video with insta 360 studio ?
Question. How do you handle transitions and cuts? Do you have to make a new clip? Then how do you stitch the clips together for a longer video?
In a video editing software like Premiere Pro or Davinci resolve. I have another solution in my new video that I’m releasing today as well 👍🏻
How do I get the stats displayed in the software? I use the Insta360OneX3
Hello. When you walk around with the Insta360, what is the best way to carry or hold your selfie stick?
Above or infront of you. Check out my 360 Video 101 course as I cover camera placement in depth there 👍🏻
I have enough trouble with Capcut,Canva and my Action4. Guess I'll hold off a while on another camera 😢.
Do you've an tutorial for VR 360 edit? How can I reframe and Color grade an 360 shot and LEAVE it 360 for VR headsets 🤷♂️

Is V5 2024 different because I cant find the right side menu feature anywhere
How do you zoom/or focus the video?
