    thanks Rob for a no BS review.....i previously owned a GR Yaris and now an owner of a Type R...the things that pissed me off about the GR....seating position (way too high)...stop start is crap....high beams average....the good bits were of course the engine and 4wd and the brakes and point to point is nuts ....but the Type R is just so much nicer is just about every other way.....the seats, gear shift, wicked motor, no STOP START!!!! (yay)....it's super roomy inside and the AC is the best.....keep up the great work....love from Australia

      It was a no-brainer for me I would pick the Type R. I sat in both the Type R and the GR Corolla, I pick the Type R because it feels more comfortable and everything was well presented and put in place. The GR Corolla felt awkward and small for me.

      Hey , I'm debating if I should sell my c63 507 for one , since I love stick shift and going to track, I learned 507 is just a hafty machine it's good but not stick shift , how do u like ur choice ?

      @@DKarGarage loved my W205 C63, took it on a few track days, but it just wasn’t much fun. Sounded amazing and was obviously quick, but I never woke up on a Sunday morning to go for a blast. The civic is way more entertaining to drive, now mines done a few thousand miles it’s opened up a bit and I even appreciate the sound (I turn off the fake noise) at the top of the rev range. Thanks to a light clutch and slick shifter it also makes a good daily. You will miss the sound, but as soon as you hit a windy bit of road or track, you will soon forget about the C63!

    Good review but no need to slag off the last one as a chav car! I'm 43 and own one alongside many others of similar ages. Also had nothing but positive comments when stopped for a chat.
    The FL5 is lovely but it's not that much different to the last.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  7 месяцев назад +2

      That’s hardly slagging it off! I thought the FK8 was excellent, but the looks were a bit marmite. The FL5 is as good, if not better, and I think fewer people will be offended by the design.

      Your opinion has the same weight as mine. That you did not like the chav car comment, well, the reviewer is on point and I agree with him. The car is too brandish, and would say right at the edge ricer edge, but not so obvious.
      It is my opinion, people your age driving one, I would see you as going through a mid-life crisis, then again it is my take on it. I am not here to say you are wrong or incorrect.
      Whatever floats your boat...

    It's not so much which is the better car, it's also which is more reliable ? On this count the Honda wins every time.

  • @davidhayes4814

    I guess that it all comes down to the styling of the car, which are somewhat “Marmite”. If you like it …. or at least feel that you can live with it … then it would be great.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  8 месяцев назад +1

      I definitely could, what do you think of the styling?

      @@BuckleUpShow I guess that you are about half my age … maybe less. I feel happier in something rather more understated, which presently is an RS3. My partner has a little black i20N , chosen to be a bit more discreet than the baby blue / liquorice all sort colour. The Honda Type R is a lovely bit of kit though.
