How to Cross Stitch on Paper : Make a Greeting Card or Small Artwork

  • Hi. In this video I demonstrate how to cross stitch using paper as your background. Cross stitching is usually done on a type of fabric that has a grid woven right into in, but since paper doesn't have such a grid, the first part of the video demonstrates two different ways of giving yourself one.

      Hi Janet. Thanks for watching! That is “plastic canvas” which is usually used as a base for needlepoint projects.

    What kind of screwdriver did you use to poke the holes in the paper?

      Hi. It's an awl, a tool especially meant to make holes in things like leather. I got mine at the sewing store.
