I've never done cross-stitch... but it is a new obsession for cardmaking. I love it. I think when we're doing it... we're to close to it... you're is stunning and you just have me a bunch of ideas. Thank you!

You can purchase pre-made perforated paper (mentioned by Kimchi) which has a light plastic coating on the back with will help prevent tearing. Also the stitching will look more even if you stitch going one direction to the end of the pattern and return the other direction. Hope that makes sense! Also if you let the thread dangle occasionally it will unwind and help prevent tangling. Love the stamping idea to follow with the stitching. Whew, I'm done now! TFS

Yeah I realized that partway through and by then I was too tired to go redo it LOL

I love your flower Stitch it's wonderful you did a great job. I bet if you did another one you would do even better! I am new at slow stitching... it takes some practice and patience. Sometimes you might have to take a break and do something else.. but you can always go back to it. I thought you did a great job!! Love to see you drawing too! :)

Oh what a wonderful idea to stamp on the cardstock to help with the cross stitching. I had never thought of that in this manner. I have even bought the Altenew sets that are for cross stitching but I did not like how close together their holes are. This is a brilliant way to use up many other stamps in cross stitch. Even using marker is brilliant.

A couple of tips: you can pull out less floss threads and not make it so thick- also, cut down your floss to about the length from your fingers to your elbow. This night seem like it is a bother to keep having to re-thread a needle but it will minimise all the tangling and knots.
There’s a couple simple stitches which are quite attractive that will work excellent and doesn’t require much other than watching a RUclips video- such as for the stem-
    look up stem stitch
For a basic idea of how to do a filling stitch- look up satin stitch.
Sarah Humphrey has a lot of excellent free RUclips tutorials.
Also you can look up “embroidery on paper or perforated paper”
A cute addition might be some beads.

I love how your stitched cards came out. I’ve been doing counted cross stitching lately, but on Aida cloth then I attach the design on the card. I have done cross stitching on card stock and perforated paper before though. Great idea with stamping a design and then filling in the image.

I love cross stitch, though it’s been years since I embroidered. I’m not sure how I feel about stitching on card stock, but I’m intrigued enough to maybe give it a shot. 🙃

Your flower turned out super cute! How did you glue the stitched piece to the card base?

Dimensional adhesive….I had a mess back there that wouldn’t lay flat but not around the edges. ☺️
