The shoulder tip is elite. Having your shoulders open makes you spin so much and explains a lot of my bails.
Take off sketchy, land sketchy
While im more an experienced rider, your tutorials are legit the best, such straight forward instructions and clarity. Makes me feel more confident in my a abilities . 👍
Thank you for clearing up when to pop and when to ollie.
yeah i just realised ive been trying to ollie off of every side jump in the forest lines causing me to lose control of the jump
I snowboard
@@gtflagvrhey12 ok??? Haha
I don’t know how this channel don’t have more subs, the videos are all so well produced and Tommy never fails to explain everything in details, keep up the good work man.
Landed my first jump after watching your tutorial... I watch a lot of online snowboard content and you have the ABSOLUTE best instruction with the progression approach... just wanted to say much thanks for all that you do for the snowboard community and the overall sport...
Thanks for this. I can carve my ass off, just need to learn some basic cool jumps.
Same here..
I fall in love with snowboarding in the past 2 years and I watch all kind of snowboarding videos before sleep everyday. Among all the videos, I love yours the most. You made ordinaries like me have a dream of snowboarding like a pro.
Perfect timing. Finally a confident rider, more or less, practicing some jumps all day tomorrow.
“Find a Beginner zone”, Half pipe in the back: am I a joke to u?
It super awesome how you talk about when to Ollie vs hop, this is a question that all beginner has but not one RUclips snowboarder ever mention.
I went from barely staying up on a board to doing black diamonds and hard blues as well as hitting 45mph and minor jumps in one season, all by watching and following a different video everytime I hit the slopes! You my ride more awesome for sure
only 1 step to learning jumps: SeNd iT
Yeah this is what I did and my friends thought I was insane and sent me this link lol
i landed some small jumps unintentionally, and decided i was good to send it and now I can only sit on one ass cheek to shit
@@Swishersenju lmao same, one cheek be sore af
That what I do but one time i landed on my neck I'm lucky i didn't get hurt now I know how to hit a jump properly
I sent it yesterday and face planted 😂😂😂
Great Tutorial, would just like to add that a lot of beginners actually need advice on when they land the jump, knowing how to deal with the speed that they've picked up, landing in panic mode & put the brakes straight on & crashing
Tommie Bennett I’d love that! I was doing well on the jumps for the most part but it was mostly luck+small jumps. When I took them higher I would catch the nose or something, start flipping on the ground, and end up with snow in my nose haha
@@tommiebennett Yes, please make a landing video. Jumping isn't an issue, I need more consistency on landing. Thanks for the channel!
@@tommiebennett correction " how to crash properly"
@@tommiebennett Hey Tommie did you ever make a landing type video? Appreciate all the knowledge you give out! 🙏🤙
I’ve been binging tutorials and there’s so much info I’m hoping I remember it all!
I'm about to hit the slopes this weekend again and finally try to push myself to do some jumps. Few years back i broke some bones in a snowpark and been hesitant ever since. This video is very helpfull! I think I'm finally gonna do it again! Cheers from polish girl! You do a great job explaining things
By Far, best Teacher, with charisma, skills and technical breakdowns. Thanks for such a great channel, you deserve way more views.
We need a video from you on stretching/conditioning/exercises for snowboarding. After a full day of riding, I'm exhausted. What do you do to stay in shape for riding days on days?
@@tommiebennett, staying hydrated is a huge help, but some specific exercises for core and legs would be helpful!
You embody THE Snowboarder for me. All the way from your style to your talking and attitude. Awesome!
though I am Russian, your explanations are so clear to me and in the point. It helps me so much to struggle with my technique issues. Well Done, Tommie !
Awesome. I really enjoyed that, it was just what I needed to know. I m a late age rider, 56, started 5 years ago. I’ve just got a handle on enjoying my ride, carving is coming along, now I want to try some small jumps. I ve watched quite a few vids, this was by far the best for me. Thanks
I’m just starting to get into jumps now. I’m finally able to ride switch comfortably. Thanks for the vid!
I have been binge-watching your videos for the last 2 weeks.. I love them man, if only I could do half the stuff you can do ;p only just into my 2nd season here in NZ so got a weee bit to go :D
I landed my first "big" air the other day thanks to these videos I'm booting out of everything now! sooooo sick
I just started making a few jumps with little to go on and this is gonna help a lot! Thanks!
Really wish you had posted this last week... before I took myself into the park without the right tools and cracked my collar bone. Solid and clear tutorial 👍.
Great videos! I love the head movement when explaining. You make it look so easy. Lol
Dude! You are crushing it! I’ve always had trouble with jumps and these tips will definitely help!
easily the best tutorials on youtube! Thanks again Tommie!
Indeed perfect timing! I hit my first jump today. A very small, small jump 😋
I've been looking forward to the trick progression guide! Thanks for posting it Tommie.
crystal clear instructions on basics, which are the most critical ones for me, many thanks
This is so helpful im a beginner at doing jumps i just started this season and by just watching all your video im actually doing it but i wish you have more goofy video thank you
Goofy is just the same tips just other foot forward.
@@WAco-se9wf cool got it thanks
Appreciate the detailed breakdown - I’m gonna do it!
Just got my DC PBJ '19 board and I'm so stoked to use it in the park
Liked to watch the transition of your arms move from a down position going up through the jump in sync in order to get your body some more height and balance. Thanks for the awesome videos.
This helped me a bunch Tommie! I appreciate you brother much love!!
Let's go Tommie. Can't wait😀
Same here
Thanks Broh I was just telling my brother-in-law I need to learn how to jump next, got my board game up pretty nice according to him so that's the next thing to work on to have more fun Thanks
Thanks for this video dude! Wish I've watched it earlier. Yesterday I was practising my jumps, and the whole day it was going great, but on the last run I was too tired and my body did not follow through, so instead of landing I just smashed into the ground. Long story short, I broke my back leg, so no more snowboarding this year... At least I've learned to not push further when I'm too tired, and I have all the time in the world to watch some more tutorials before going back up ;) Keep the coming, you have a new sub!
I know this was over a year ago, but I can definitely relate! I always push myself too much. Last year I was riding on barely any sleep and had a pretty bad wipe out. I don’t know how or what I did. Rolled and heard a crack. I thought I broke something, but it must have been my helmet hitting the ground. Had a headache the day after and some pulled muscles, so I came away lucky. I can only imagine if I hadn’t been wearing a helmet…
I just found your channel. Wow, great lesson and structure. I'll certainly watch this a few times, and use it in my lessons.
This is something I need to learn
Me to Eliot😀

@@tommiebennett :) u make it look so easy i love it
This video is sooo helpful tommie! I beginning to do small jumps and am always thinking what should i do with my body and legs. Love the swing you do with the arms when doing ollies! I will definitely try all these tips next time im riding.
Video SB lessson was dope. Thank you for doing this.
i leaned forward instead of bringing my knees up a month ago and landed on my dace dislocated my shoulder. good to go again tho! great tips
Thank you for making this video. You're awesome
@@tommiebennett subscribed this morning and dropped a link to my younger brother! I'll be watching plenty more as the season approaches! Have a good day!
Nice video. I’m glad u covered pops vs Ollie’s bc i was very curious about that
🇬🇧 Excellent video tommie , you do the best tutorials ever 🤘🤘👍
Really straightforward video everything is easy to understand and implement
Great content Tommie! Thanks for this
My second season just started. I was able to go down a few black slopes, now I'm looking forward to jumping thanks to your video :)
I just sent jumps on my first day and it went great it’s not like I can’t sit down comfortably
🔥🔥Nice Playlist to Snowboarding 🏂!!
he explained it so well😁nice job man keep up the work!
Thank you for posting this bro. The one thing i want to do this year is hit jumps.
Hell yeah best vid on jumps no lie
Tommie: I wish I had watched this video before my park 101 camp yesterday when I hit my first jump. I landed fine when I just glided over or popped off the jump, but then my instructor told me to Ollie off the jump. Then I ate it every time. Why did she teach me to Ollie off the jump? I will never know, but I appreciate your instruction video!
Ghey. Never ollie off a jump as a beginner.
sick video bro. very clear instructions and whacky jumps. followed you in ig too. keep it up!
riding from toronto.
Love the videos man! 😊
Good tutorial.
Great energy dude!
Your tips are so helpful!
Great tips man! Loving the content
Great teacher!
thank you for your teaching
Thanks bro! Subscribed!
As others have commented already, thanks for the crystal clear instructions mate!
Starting with those basic posture exercises should help me avoid having a panic attack at the simple thought of my board not touching the ground for a while :P
Feelin the vid. Appreesh the nrg, and the beat. Getting red to hit a lil jump. Shoulder straight good tip.
Awesome video! I'm having a hard time staying up right tend to be leaning over my toe side. I believe its where I'm looking. Where should you be looking when jumping?
Very helpul for a beginner 👍🏻thx
Nice video man, thank you!
Extremely useful... and well articulated! SubcribED!
This is useful, thank you!
great tutorial, thanks.
Gonna try this tomorrow, wish me luck lol
Don't die lol
@@mikebrown-hb4zy I'll try not to 😅😂
Dope vid. Bro! Appreciate the tips!
Learned a lot on this one. Where are these tutorials filmed?
Thank you for the video. Quick question. You mentioned that before you take off, you flatten the board (although you also said that you try to be on toe edge). When you land, are you supposed to land flat or on heel/toe side? Cheers!
great vid and great explanation hope u will do some videos like that in the future !
Could you do a demo at keystone ? And how to progress from the beginner jumps all the way up to the next level jumps and how to properly hit them ? That’s my biggest challenge as a rider is having the proper speed and what to do when approaching that knuckle since it goes to a medium/high incline
Thanks coach!!
Is it bad to land to side or heel side? Or should I always try to land flat?
Yes, definitely a bad thing. Always land flat. Otherwise if your sideways, your risking injuring yourself.
Brilliant vid!
Can’t wait to do my first jump tomorrow
Awesome tutorials! Take my subscription
Thank you for clearing up when to stay flat or when to stay on edge while approaching the jumps. I was just winging it the whole time lol
Love your video, any advice how to jump a but? Feel my body is too heavy anddoesnt move from the snow
Another great one, Tommie! QQ - often when I'm trying to ride my board flat leading up to a jump, the board starts to feel squirrel-y and slide around right at the approach. Any thoughts/tips on that?
Ride with 10% toe edge.
Yess Tommie always got the best tips
Nice tutorial. What are your stance angles?
Yewww. Killing it with these vids 👌
Thank you!
Sweet video! Why are those spots considered "no-grab" zones?
Never learned how to wakeboard or snowboard from videos, just went out and did stuff, but this is really easy to understand. Great stuff
Nice one, cheers!
Really good
Nice review
hey tommie great vids, im in my mid 40's and just started boarding, bought a used sims destiny about 10 years old and ive cought on pretty quik and now started jumping/ollie. looking to buy new board and lighter what are the best few boards you recomand for jumping and landing..thx
Background looks like sky chutes. Are you at copper mountain?
Can you give more details and tips for landing? I can go out of balance in the air...
I learned today that I really need to learn my mountains park terrain, cause I hit a jump with a lot of pitch with far to much speed and I was scared outta my body. Once I hit all the features twice I was golden after that. Just gotta go slower I want to full send too much
this is a cool video it would be neat if you did a bit on how to land that is where I struggle when jumping
