Ehh, I don't mean to play devil's advocate, but onesies are actually really cool. My dad grew up skiing with one, and as a kid I also wore one too. They keep you a bit warmer when riding as there are no openings between the jacket & pants, which tends to prevent more cold from getting inside your layers. I also kinda like the onesie costumes people wear too, it looks cool when a giraffe does a rail grind in the park, lol!

Ok,on the funny side. When I first started, I was sweating so bad that a snow spray would have been great. I agree though!!! Just spray the ones in your crew!!! 😂
#1 message in this video is - KEEP IT POSITIVE! Encourage everyone you can, no matter their ability. I'm so stoked on someone learning, whether a total beginner or just learning a new trick.
The chairlift heckler dude that does shorts sitting by himself making comments that aren't remotely funny is 100% cringe. I always downvote his vids. 😂
I agree the backpack music guy is very frustrating when you are enjoying a lap in park and he comes through with his music you just don't wont to hear When you trying to learn a new trick or are in the flow having fun.
Agree with most of this, but gotta disagree on the onesies and turtle-butt. Back in the 2000's skiing was basically "how ridiculous and whacky can I look." Skis and boards too had incredible artwork on them (many still do, but less so). I loved that style. You were encouraged to look weird and funny. Nowadays I look at gear and everything is just one color with minimalistic design/artwork. Where did the fun go? That's why, when I see people in something unique like onesies or turtle-butts or a gorilla suit I make sure to tell them how cool it is.
Being an Asian and not a professional skier/snowboarder, I find skiing/snowboarding in animal costumes cute. Most of my friends would agree with me. Maybe it's an Asian thing - at least THIS part of Asia - East/South East Asia.
Spot on, We had some drunk guys yelling Brown Bear at us from the lift, probably trying to make us distracted and fall. No bear anywhere. Don't be that guy.
ive been snow boarding my whole life and iv always said yew to hype ppl up i personally dont see a problem but i come from a surfing family so that could be why lol
I once was on the terrain park and this group of kids on the chairlift wanted to distract me and yelled to me: "Dont crash!" I looked up and crashed right in front of them. The next thing i realized was the chairlift stopped right then and there. They kept heckeling until I left. Idk I also thought it was funny but still annoying cuz i crashed.
Keep your fashion trends to yourself man, saying people shouldn't wear this takes peoples self confidence away. Not to mention the amount of people you have under influence.
None of you know what gate keeping is. Withholding information that can help someone climb a skill spectrum or status ladder vs expressing opinion of how people should & should not act or speak. < the 2nd is not gate keeping, as no one is being prevented from learning anything, in fact he actually just points out genuine facts. Snowboarders don’t talk like that, that’s a movie typical stereotype that’s meant to suggest suggest that we’re dumb for comedy purposes, 2nd speaker dude, not even for like filming or content purposes, he’s a hazard, the mountain is a dangerous place especially when you take sound into account, not too mention if people can’t communicate in an extreme situation that can be extremely fatal, people need to grow up, & listen for a change, & just to put a cherry on top, probably restudy the definitions of most of your guy’s built vocabulary’s.
Complains about gate keeping. Then, makes a video that is mostly gatekeeping things like how people should look or talk. I know as having been a lifty that anything that gives each rider their individuality like turtle butts and onesie costumes. Yes, it's true these things can make you fall but not really any more than a backpack would. As a backpack music guy, I do try to keep it clean music and appropriate for kids. Sorry to video makers. We're the stars of a video in our own heads, lol.
I don’t think you know what gatekeeping means. Gatekeeping means people who are at a higher skill ceiling or status one could say, & they blatantly prevent newcomers from learning or growing😂
@@trismethod Meaning of gatekeeping in English: the activity of trying to control who gets particular resources, power, or opportunities, and who does not. In this video: If I don’t dress a certain way I’m being discouraged from snowboarding, and if I don’t talk a certain way I’m being discouraged from snowboarding. Example, doesn’t want people to wear onesies, bright colors, turtle butt pads, or for people to say “lets take a safety break, then shred the gnar.”
@trismethod Look, I'm not that smart, but I do comprehend the idea that gatekeeping is a concept that is applicable in a few ways, one of which is knowledge. Another is acceptance in a community. There's no need for everyone to dress the same. Nothing of what I said is wrong.
@Chick_Adventures Again as a backpack speaker guy. Sorry, I am making the switch to helmet speakers. I have historically listened to classic music that is age appropriate for children.
I don’t know about this one Jon…off course disrupting other people’s experience with obnoxious music or spraying is wrong but nothing wrong with wearing whatever you want up the mountain, snowboarding always had a rebel culture, we should be wearing and doing whatever the heck we want as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else 🤘
So for the backpack speaker it can be pretty funny if a Middle Aged man in a pink pyjamas starts blasting white girl music😂 but if it’s not that then it’s horrible
Awesome video as usual... I need new boots, but just scored some Cartel X bindings for my old deck from the 90s.... now to find the right boots... i dont fit my Morrow e3 step ins any more, but my son does, so that's a bonus... Cheers
Honest question. I like music, as one does. I play anything from surfing guitar of dick dale to techno nightmare. I try to be reasonable and not deafen people, especially in lines. Should I buy headphones for snowboarding? It seems to be a horrible idea since I already lost a headphone on a chairlift. I just want to play chill, funky and/or encouraging music, especially on cold and lonely runs. Am I a menace to society? I hope people dont think I am a douche. Anyway, lots of love to yall, keep at it and have fun
Guys dont gatekeep..... Makes list about what is lame and what needs to stop..... Eh, aint that gatekeepint? Fully agree on the speaker dude issue though, thats not gatekeeping, that's just manners
One time I caught an edge riding switch fast and slammed my head and back. I was on the ground for a couple minutes trying to get myself together and a bunch of riders sprayed me right after I had the heaviest slam. Not cool
The turtle butt seems so dumb. When i tried snowboarding i just used my football girdle with tailbone, thigh pads etc and it worked amazing and you couldn’t even tell

Oddly I think it's just a fashion trend with the onesies because it's a common thing in climbing that people show up in sleeping wear
1:45 don't spray people.. spray skiers!!! LOL
🤣😂
Yo dude I just watched one of your videos where you learned the snowboard making process. That was super sick and this video is also super sick! Glad I found your channel!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🏂🏂🌊
Where can I buy your evolution stickers being in Canada? Etsy doesnt ship to Canada...
Chairlift heckling is the most fun part when u drink with the boys maybe because I was 15-17 but it was awesome
Yoooooooooo this gatekeeping thing is real. Messing up the good vibes.
Right!!
Ok,on the funny side. When I first started, I was sweating so bad that a snow spray would have been great. I agree though!!! Just spray the ones in your crew!!! 😂
💯
i dont heckle from the lift i just throw snowballs
😂
People like you are the ones that get your ass beat at the bottom of the run
@@JohnathanBuckhouseit’s honestly sad that as a fan of urs you actually support this and think its funny.
@@borisramos3742 Stfu, it's not that deep. Like a snowball can't kill a person
#1 message in this video is - KEEP IT POSITIVE! Encourage everyone you can, no matter their ability. I'm so stoked on someone learning, whether a total beginner or just learning a new trick.
100% man!!!
The chairlift heckler dude that does shorts sitting by himself making comments that aren't remotely funny is 100% cringe. I always downvote his vids. 😂
I agree the backpack music guy is very frustrating when you are enjoying a lap in park and he comes through with his music you just don't wont to hear When you trying to learn a new trick or are in the flow having fun.
re 1: if I see some crazy jerry s*hit, i'm calling it out from the chair lol
😂
I just bought my first board. I found that I feel free when snowboarding, If somebody steals my board I will be so crushed
Chair lift heckling is americas past time brother.
🤣😂
#1 should be that stash
Come on 😂 Its super trendy! LOL
@@JohnathanBuckhouse your rock it dude, I think it looks great.
@JohnathanBuckhouse it looks great ma dude
The stache must stay
@@JohnathanBuckhouse 1970's porn star stash😂
A dude djing with his deck while skiing is beyond cool.
Going on ski(snowboard) vacation for the first time in Austria in January. Gotta look out for these ones😂
😂🤣😂
People who stop in the middle of the piste. That’s annoying and dangerous.
Spot on, We had some drunk guys yelling Brown Bear at us from the lift, probably trying to make us distracted and fall. No bear anywhere. Don't be that guy.
What pads do you wear under your gear?
I like that evolution merch is listed as a chapter in this video lol
"YO little dude! If you french fry when you're ment to pizza, you're gonna have a bad time!"
But I like my lil jbl clip. I do keep it down so the volume is at a personal volume 🤣🤣
1:00 this one is so real. The amount of times I get sprayed by some random annoying teenagers that are just a few years older than me is crazy.
ive been snow boarding my whole life and iv always said yew to hype ppl up i personally dont see a problem but i come from a surfing family so that could be why
lol
So, I agree with most of the things you brought up, so I won't bring up how hard it is to take advice from someone with that mustache.
I once was on the terrain park and this group of kids on the chairlift wanted to distract me and yelled to me: "Dont crash!"
I looked up and crashed right in front of them. The next thing i realized was the chairlift stopped right then and there. They kept heckeling until I left. Idk I also thought it was funny but still annoying cuz i crashed.
Yeah this story sucks man! I am sorry bro. Stories like this is why I made this video. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again.
Did you cover the Andrenaline junky’s speeding down the mountain like they’re trying to beat a record not being cautious of kids/ newbies
bro snow bro talk just happens man, especially after a safety meeting when that gnar is slappin
Hahahaha 😂
Gonna disagree with the snow brow talk. Personally love screaming YEWWWW to share the hype.
Hell yeah 🤙🏼
It doesn't cost that much to buy a cable lock, as a deterrence for the thief to find an easier target.
People gotta stop smoking weed on the chairlift. My children and I don't want to breath your 2nd hand smoke on the way up the mountain
💯
@@trismethod Meaning of gatekeeping in English:
the activity of trying to control who gets particular resources, power, or opportunities, and who does not.
One of my loves of snowboarding is being in the mountains and not having the constant bombardment of noise from the city.
@Chick_Adventures Again as a backpack speaker guy. Sorry, I am making the switch to helmet speakers. I have historically listened to classic music that is age appropriate for children.
onesies are fine.. as long as its designed for skiing and riding ... love what airblaster has going on !
Year the airblaster ones are sick!
He sounds more like safety patrol aka yellow jackets aka the fun police than a pro snowboarder.
😂
I don’t know about this one Jon…off course disrupting other people’s experience with obnoxious music or spraying is wrong but nothing wrong with wearing whatever you want up the mountain, snowboarding always had a rebel culture, we should be wearing and doing whatever the heck we want as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else 🤘
I love doing the chairlift stuff its fun
So for the backpack speaker it can be pretty funny if a Middle Aged man in a pink pyjamas starts blasting white girl music😂 but if it’s not that then it’s horrible
I agree with each point. I'm amazed at how angry others are for you saying so.
Right 🤦🏼♂️ Thank you
Awesome video as usual...
This entire video just shows what a good dude you are. Let’s go jb
I disagree with the music on the mountain 😂 I'll continue to do that, plus I usually do tree runs
i dont really think it matters how a snowboarder talks kinda a L last take there ngl

Gate keeping? Don’t try to bully or I’m gonna bully you 😉
😂
One time I caught an edge riding switch fast and slammed my head and back. I was on the ground for a couple minutes trying to get myself together and a bunch of riders sprayed me right after I had the heaviest slam. Not cool
The turtle butt seems so dumb. When i tried snowboarding i just used my football girdle with tailbone, thigh pads etc and it worked amazing and you couldn’t even tell
Good call out.
Dorks only camoflauge themselves with glitter.
So you’re telling me I shouldn’t be a gear snob and that my skate banana and taped up gloves are perfectly fine to rock for another year? 😂😂😂
