Have you considered emailing your footage to some department heads of vail resorts? This makes me super upset and I wasn’t involved you were very patient and respectful. I would have handled this very differently. This makes me never want to ride keystone. No one wants a tainted pass for no reason.
Please show them the video and get them to apologize in writing remove the black mark and suspend all of them involved , I will share the vid ,and please do a update
CWJ Ozanne nah, receptionist at the door of my high school had the job of issuing late slips which can cause detentions and she was relentless. You had to be in the school before the bell and there was a door to the lobby and a door to the hallway in the school. I got a late slip because the bell rang as I was walking through the lobby to the other door and also once got one when the bell rang while I was holding the door for someone.
I would also say night club/ pub security guards also pretty damn willing to go too far (obv. not all of them, but I had a couple bad experiences with them, even when I did'nt even do anything)
7 year ski patroller here. You guys were fine, you showed more regard than most I see on the hill. Wouldn't have stopped you or even gotten an itch to investigate.
This is the kind of staff attitude that make the hills a great place. Those Mountain Safety were totally out of their place, and seemed to have too much of a need for power over other riders.
I don't have any ski experience. Just customer experience design experience and I saw nothing wrong. However, from a customer service standpoint I saw a lot wrong with the safety professionals approach.
Yea I just dont stop and go sit in the trees how r u gonna be able to enforce that when there are so many shitters on the run and like 90% of the ski patrol is worse then me
9 years slalom ski racer even for the Romania team in France for an FIS Certified younth competition. 1st. they did nothing wrong, the pace was faster than other people on the slope 2nd. they did not put anyone in danger 3rd. the difference between us and European ski resorts, our ski patrol is more medical part and rescue than slope police that they come and pull you over.
I'll stick to Austria, where I don't think there is even a safety patrol, and if so they don't give a shit about your speed as long as you are in control.
@@soccergirlae yeh I've just commented on that same thing, there is mountain patrol in Europe but they are more there to rescue injured people not act like power hungry safety Nazi's like these three mugs. I have to say, seeing that kind of strict approach would take all the enjoyment out of riding and definitely puts me off wanting to ride in the States
dude try going to Bear Mtn in Souther CA. its about 85 percent snowboarders and it can be crazy on some parts..people jumping and flying all around you...crowded in the park..LOL
Lol... get that snowboarder one had a selfie stick!, you guys are in super bad trouble! Though no one ever approached you the ten times you stopped on the hill...
We sure don't, and it might seem like that is a good thing but I know a ski instructor who was ploughed in to by a Belgian tourist and it was appalling how little help she got from the resort. There is no structure in place to even get the person's details or even hold them accountable. The instructor is in her 50s and will not be returning to her job. So maybe there is a middle ground where you can still enjoy the thrill of skiing fast while making sure people stay safe.
@Philip Papaila OR you shouldn't mob a hill if you are so shit at "riding" that you can't stop yourself from ploughing into people. I grew up skiing and ski as fast as I want to and yet I have never crippled anyone.
@notformebeaky I did not say it was the solution and I did not say one should go slow. Collision happen when people ski faster than they are able to whatever speed that might be.
The initial guy that ultimately stopped you was one that never saw you. He was lower on the run. He identified you by one of you having a selfi stick (said when he first saw you). Like a dozen other groups of riders. They called out the wrong group and if they ever realized it were too deep in to back out.
That plus the fact that they're all wearing mittens and the woman said they were flipping people off. I think it was a different group of boarders with a selfie stick and they grabbed the wrong guys.
no they didnt, they rightfully saw this prick speeding through a beginner area. He keeps lying saying hes going "slow" when all the beginners are obviously WAY SLOWER. Are you blind ?
Is anyone else annoyed with people who use the “rough-and-tough” act until they get called out, and then they say, “It was actually my boss...”? It drives me up the wall.
@@kkelly2741 Ya Okemo said if i can make it from the top to bottom of one of the Jackson gore Bubble lift in less than a minute they’d give me last chair.

You were totally respectful and 100% in the right. I'm not just saying that. These guys let what little power they have in their lives go straight to their heads. They'll do this to the wrong people one day and get jacked up in the parking lot. Awesome job keeping your cool and staying professional. RESPECT!!
I mean, it was just one guy who was being a total douche and spread the fake news. And that's all it takes, one guy with responsibility to abuse his position. The head of safety was the guy screaming at them to slow down and he then proceeded to tell the others they were "bombing" down the mountain and "not slowing down", for whatever reason. As someone who's been skiing all life (my parents put me on skis at the age of 3 I believe) I usually go extremely fast, because it's just a lot of fun to speed past beginners at 50mph. And I admit, it's not very nice and I've had people in shock because of my actions.. But spraying whole ski groups / courses with snow when you come to a stop from those speeds is just too good of a feeling and only once was someone genuinely mad. Most people here in Europe take it very lightly. Anyway, I am not the only one who does this regularly. Where I ski, we have a lot of professionals and groups of racers which can reach speeds of over 60mph when going from a black run down to red / blue and it's a normal sight to see them full sending it down a beginner's run to get to their lifts. So there is no "speed limit" or anything and I find the thought of this absurd. I live in Germany and every season I go to ski in the Alps. We don't even have ski patrol here or whatever the people with the yellow people think they are.. Ski cops? Of course everyone looks out for each other and generally people are very chill. The only very dangerous thing is that many of us (but mostly Austrians who ski for every single day of the season because they live right next to the mountains) get pretty drunk before skiing. I have met so many people on the lifts, who seem to be blackout drunk. These guys are the real danger to the beginners because if they ride like they do normally, which is mostly the case (they are usually very experienced), they go pretty fast and sometimes it's hard to stop when you're so drugged. They are responsible for a bunch of accidents every season but usually they only (severely) hurt themselves. Trees are their biggest enemy. To wrap this book up: I believe full sending it is pretty normal at the Alps. The place where people mainly rent their equipment even (to determine how easy the skis disconnect from the shoes when a crash occurs) describes the most experienced tier (tier 3) as "aggressive, high speed riders". The US is, once again, a land of the dumb rules. Thanks for reading :)
I hate that when people mention they were or are in the military when its completely unrelated to the subject. I wont take you anymore serious or respect you any more because of that.
Exactly this is crazy... people cutting across the run, sitting below a knuckle, using the whole run, riding a run above their skill level...no warning, good riders can’t even cruise that run without a warning its ridiculous.. it’s crazy how 1 or 2 rules in the skiers code are the only ones that get enforced and they don’t protect experienced riders
@@pureluck6485 does not matter! it is written into the ski code of every mt. I know of. Beginner area or not. Sitting in the run is one of the most dangerous things any skier / boarder, can do on any part of the mt.
For real, I get making sure people are riding within their limits for the safety of everyone there but come on. This is just a power trip from people who consider themselves better than anyone else at the park. I appreciate these guys making sure people aren't bombing a hill out of control but this is bullshit
Lol the slow down signs are irrelevant basically where I ski lmao there are the kids riding 2 mph and then there are the teens just sending it down the mountain
Oh my! I saw people passing you and your friends like crazy. You "flipped them off" in mittens and "looked at him like he was a jackass" while wearing tinted snow goggles. Y'all are MULTI-TALENTED. LOL
@Long Nards lol even if they did look at him like a "jackass." (However one would quantify that.) Its still not a good enough reason for stopping them. Very clearly putting their emotions in the mix here. P.S. Could you imagine going to any other establishment in the hospitality industries and having the word JACKASS thrown in mid conversation by an employee, regardless of whether it was directed at you. SUPER unprofessional.
I've been snow boarding twice and can say that the biggest issue is the mountain patrol or safety patrol stopping people in the middle of the run to talk to them about speed or what ever. The two times I went boarding I almost wiped out because of people stopping others to "chat"
that just shows you are going way too fast around a bunch of ppl to begin with, the ppl below you always have the right of way, did you miss that rule ?
Everything about this is okay. Figures of authority need to be held accountable in times like this in hopes that others won’t be treated like these riders were in this situation. The video says it all, and I hope Vail does the right thing for these guys.
Completely inappropriate. They stereotyped you all immediately. They would not have used inappropriate language or thought you flipped them off if you were a clean cut, older skier. Judgement based off age and what you are wearing. Speed, green run, and miss understanding aside. Very unprofessional for a large company such as Vail.
Brandon Keyes 😂😂 a dark skinned dude with braided hair myself I can’t even begin to explain the amount of looks I get. I have never experienced any type of racism directly so don’t take it the wrong way but you can definitely tell everyone’s eyes get glued to you 😂
whyumadtho355 yea, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen another brotha on the slopes. Maybe, but I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences. Everyone has been nice, I was just being tongue in cheek.
My friend who’s parents have both been ski patrollers has always said that if a mountain safety yells at you, don’t take it seriously but if a ski patroller yells at you, you messed up.
They've only turned it off for their last 6 photos. You can still blow them up on anything older than those first 6 right now at the time of me posting this.

its hard work being a Hill safety at big bear. all the stupid people that go off jumps even though there a ski patrol blocking the ramp with someone injured at the bottom its insane.
steve betance you guys should do something about all the inconsiderate people sitting all over the runs. Pretty much guaranteed that during hours I can pull up any webcam and it’s littered with people sitting on a run. Place is unrideable.
I work at Keystone (started last year), and I can safely say that I haven't met any fellow employees like these guys in the video. All my coworkers are so nice and chill vibes all around. I hope that continues, and this incident is insanely ridiculous.
Same.. going in February.. disgusting tyrannical pigs.. you pay a high premium for lift tickets and get treated like a criminal. I'll hit the other peaks for a good while before I return with my family. Hopefully they correct this injustice and fire the bad actors.
Just canceled my family trip to Keystone in Feb; after watching this I'll take my family of 8 to Snowbird in Utah. Seems to me everyone should quit supporting resorts like this that have become way to political.
I was mountain safety at Keystone for a season, Celeste pulled me into her office and asked why I wasn't give out any warnings so after that I only gave out snowmobile lane warnings. These guys were showing control and giving enough space to other riders. I would have told you guys to take it easy on green runs and gave you all hot coco cards and end it with a "please ride safe"! This would have gave us yellow jackets more respect in the future.
A cool head like yours would have been nice, but If mountain safety weren't being nice, it was time for these guys to relax and diffuse the situation themselves.
These yellow jackets are like the left lane hogger on i70. They don't want everyone else to go faster than them because they are already doing speed limit. I don't see what you guys doing are considered fast.
Thank you for this interaction! Truly hope this video made some changes in staff. Folks are power hungry and need to keep their eyes on the real safety issues on the mountain.
I am so glad you decided to show everyone this. They are all full of shit and lying through their teeth. They should get suspended for that and vail should make examples of them publically before they lose thousands to the ikon pass. This is not how customers want to be treated or should be treated. As soon as he heard you have video of the entire run he should have been open to look at it. 8 billion dollar company isn't going to be worth 8 billion if this is the bullshit they keep pulling with guest.
@@jakobihli6548 Idk man they defiantly lost me as a customer if they are going to pull this shit. It adds up after a while for example if my group is like hey lets go to vail and I show them this video and be like na dude i really don't want to go get harassed on my day off we can easily go to a different place.
Imagine what these mountains do during a worldwide pandemic. Spoiler: force the town to allow everyone from everywhere in the world to enjoy skiing as long as they where a mask. Sure. I totally want that risk.
If that's bombing a green run that I'm pretty sure I must be doing something called lightspeeding a green run because I don't think that it's even possible to ride any slower.
They went for the passes right from the start; attempting to make their stop a valid one. Nothing you can do or say to get out of this injustice. Bad laws make outlaws out of good people.
Vail doesn’t care. Worked for them for 2 years, 1 year being keystone. So corporate and by the text book but they don’t care about their customers enough to address it, they monopolize this business so it doesn’t matter in their eyes.
I ski at keystone and I called them to express my concerns about this! I took notes of my conversation and below are the notes I took with the questions I asked and answers I got back. Q: How fast is someone allowed to go down schoolmarm while still being considered safe? A: Its subjective, it is determined by the flow of traffic, how many people are there, time of day, etc. Q: If I’m going down Schoolmarm and Mountain Safety thinks I’m going too fast, what should they do? A: Mountain Safety should educate the skier/snowboarder. They should talk with them about it. Q: Are they able to make the skier go to a school without talking to them about it first? A: No, they must have a conversation first. Q: We established in the first question that safe is subjective. This could lead to a mistake in judgement. What process is in place if mountain safety makes a mistake? A: If someone gets in a situation where they are not happy with mountain safety’s actions they can reach out to me (mountain safety patrol main office manager @ 970 496 3101) they can talk with us about the interaction and we will review ad investigate the situation. You can call them too! One way to express a concern could sound like this: I ski here and someone I associate with was treated unfair while skiing here. I want to know if you think this is okay because I want to avoid being treated unfair. I can see myself being caught up in the same unfortunate situation where I am treated unfair because I ski the same way. I feel like I’m at risk of unfair treatment because of the actions keystone mountain safety have taken. If you want to review the video, I can email you the link.
@@starogre yeah I took over a week of paid time off so I was chilling. Also, I ski at Keystone a lot and I care about how their mountain safety treats others and myself.
I used to ski _Keystone Resort_ back in the 1990's! This was a safety patrol power trip! Immediately asking for your passes kills the conversation, so that you can't tell your side of the story and defend yourself. The girl safety patrol immediately starts playing the victim by saying one of you "flipped her off" and that you all were "yelling" at her. That's ridiculous! I would've been furious! I think they just wanted to make an example of you guys, or they targeted the wrong snowboarders. I used to ski _Keystone Resort_ when _Whistle Punk_ (black diamond) still existed! It was a very narrow, steep trail, which was sadly removed, because too many people got hurt hitting the trees, I think. This was back in the 1990's! I guess you can't "bomb" _Schoolmarm,_ these days. That's sad! Great channel! I like it! You all were just fine! You are great snowboarders! 👍
Sure thing! I didn't think you'd see my comment, since there are so many. I remember when I used to straight-line _Silverthorne_ at _Breckenridge._ I started when I was only 7 years old. Those were such fun times! I recognize so much, but it's also grown a lot, too! It's been over 2 decades, since I've been skiing, and I hope to return to Colorado again, someday, I hope . . . Keep on shredding, buddy! You're an excellent snowboarder! I enjoy your quality videos and awesome skills! Keep it up! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! 🏂🎿🎄👍
Those safety people are on a power trip. You and your friends absolutely did nothing wrong. The one dude that started it should lose his job for lying!!!🤥🤥🤥
I snowboarded for the first time this year and was taken out by several skiers. I was yelled at for not getting on a lift in time and they basically pushed me onto another lift. A teacher from my school got a lift to the head because of these safety people. In my opinion, you and your mates did nothing wrong (not to say mine is totally correct considering I am only a beginner), some of the safety people think they have all mighty power over us because 'they know more than we do".
I don't think there's a single Vail resort that has more than 5% of its mountain as a slow zone. Experts have 95+% of the mountain to go however fast they want... You sound like Kim Kardashian complaining because she doesn't have enough money...
@@jacobmurphy7333 You mean with your response that included two opinionated, off the top of the head percentages when you probably have limited experience from Vail Resorts owned properties? Go see what they're doing at Borreal while adding features for people that love riding versus the stripping of parks and features at Heavenly and Northstar in the last decade. Vail is trying to be more friendly to the the twice-a-season vistors while making the mountain more plain for the people that are in love with being on that mountain. so what really happened was that the safety people had their feelings hurt by a supposed gesture that may or may not have happened? does the safety course cost money? how long does it go for? You're aware that you have no comeback against officialdom.
Good lord. I’ll be perfectly honest - I’ve been skiing for more than 40 years and, while I don’t usually care for most snowboarders, you guys did absolutely nothing wrong. You were being perfectly safe, boarding well within your ability, and you were far more polite with these idiots than I ever would be. Good on you, dude. You have my full respect. It’s almost like they grabbed every miserable crossing guard in the county and gave them a yellow vest and ski boots. This really makes me miss the 80’s :)
Well said. I snowboard AND ski, although I prefer snowboarding. Yes, there is a significant cultural difference between most skiers and snowboarders, but it sounds to me like you are willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. I only ride backcountry with professional skiers on a splitboard. It would make all mountain resorts and gondolas and lifts more pleasant if people would finally grow up and stop the grudge! It's one ski, or 2 skis, and lots of variations going on, and it's all slidin' around in the snow and having a good time.

Usually if I do have an encounter with them I try to keep it friendly & he understanding of what they are explaining to me…if I find the conversation isn’t going anywhere with them and they are just out to pull my pass I simply just leave, go to the car grab another jacket & get back to what I was doing, that or call it a day.

First off - this is pretty insane to watch and makes my blood boil. Second - I love Keystone and won't stop skiing there because of an isolated incident - not saying I've never had issues with ski patrol, but it seems like this was an extreme situation that I would assume is not the norm. I dunno - I could be totally wrong, but I've skied Keystone since I was like 5 or 6 years old (I'm 27 now) and while I have been told to slow down - I've never been stopped, and I ski FAST. I can get top to bottom of Schoolmarm stupid fast and no one has stopped me. As a skier - I do think snowboarders are targeted more than necessary. I've had my fair share of moments that boarders have pissed me off - but I've been plowed by skiers just as much as boarders. Anyways... you have pretty sweet videos - even though I'm not a boarder - its still super cool to watch.
@@JohnathanBuckhouse Yep - I've seen a handful of your videos. Been checking out your early season stuff cause I'm itching to hit Keystone early and it's getting me psyched.
This exactly! The best people I ride with are snowboarders! This sport is getting to policed making it something it's not. Skiings a reckless sport! It's not for the faint of heart. It can take years for people to ride blacks and that doesn't include glades! If people want a safe sport play basketball, go roadbike anything else then ski. It even states on tickets a liability disclaimer which they wouldn't put there if the sport was "safe ".
Like, not gonna lie man, but even having Safety patrol is so american dude. I'm US born, so don't get me wrong, but live in Switzerland. We don't even have that kinda shit, because nobody needs it and we know how to get around eachother and drive cautiously. And it's even more crowded than any scene of your video. But what I don't get is why the retainer bars on skilifts are not mandatory, but you got ski patrol busting good snowboarders. That's just priorisation of the wrong safety concerns. Much love, great video, i hope you don't get into that kinda trouble anymore. Also think you handled the situation well, I would have been fuming man
This is insane. I have bombed that run many times at speeds at over 60mph and very under control and never stopped. Sorry to hear this happen. Looks like I won’t be returning this year

As a beginner myself they seemed just fine to me. I’m 100 times more comfortable with really good skier/ snowboarders around me because as long as I’m predictable they will easily avoid me. I think the resorts are really asserting a strategy where they don’t want to support the locals and advanced riders. They want the casual vacationer that’s going to ski for an hour and then spend tons of money at the spa. I could be wrong though I’m new to all this.
You are very correct. I have been to multiple large resorts and I think that they mainly cater to "snow bunnies" that ski 2 runs and then blow tons on spa's and high class food, etc
Dude "the Land of the Free" this is comical, in Austria we do what you could call "bombing" but we dont even really have a ski safety or something like that👺
This is why we sign the liability form... ride at your own risk. The "yellow jackets" are turning a form of fun and expression into a business. One more reason I went to Ikon this year and stopped supporting Vail Resorts. Keep up the great videos and hopefully you won't be in this situation again!
My friends and I have these gloves from the company 10peaks that have easy zipper access to your hands, they’re worth it simply for how easy it is to flip people off with them
Dang dude, im an instructor at a vail resort and this looks totally fine. You guys stayed to the side and pretty slow speed and if i had a class there i wouldn't have a problem. I had a similar situation at snowbird where a black goes across a green and i got stopped going fast on the black section

We got clocked in t-shirts at 73-75 mph a few years before the yellow jackets began. Right there. They’re way overdoing the safety thing. And from what I saw, they usually get the wrong people. The chick on her phone the whole time says it all, really.
Same thing happened to me in December and I have it on footage as well. They told me to take the class as well and I refused and brought my footage to the highest person at vail resorts cause they own keystone and they apologized and said they are working on things with the “yellow jackets”
You know they messed up when the Keystone's Instagram has deleted every previous post with comments about this situation on it and they also turned off all comments for their new posts lol.
in all honestly many snowboraders at your level tend to not care about others on the slope, But you guys seemed to be going at a normal speed and were very aware.

lmao imagine having speed limits on a mountain I've never seen something like this in a European resort. Slow areas are more of a trust thing. Big slow sign, the resort staff just trust you to slow down.
yes, stuff like this doesn't happen in europe (except maybe for italy, where the gendarmerie (carabinieri) polices the slopes). i remember hearing the german eurosport commenters talking about an incident like this, during the 2015 alpine ski world championships in vail/beaver creek. on their day off they went skiing themselves and a chair lift operator stopped the lift after they had already gotten in, because according to him they (longtime experienced skiers) had gotten in "wrong". he basically held them and everybody else on the lift hostage for several minutes, while he was giving a lecture on how to get on a chair lift correctly. the commenters' take home message was that they enjoy a lot more freedom in europe than in america, where everybody just loves to talk about freedom.
@@SoundsLikeFelix I've never seen something like this in Italy, but maybe it varies resort to resort. i can say for sure that Pila in Aosta Valley doesn't have it.
@@SeriouslyMikey the ski-carabinieri were introduced in 2003. since then i have seen them both in val gardena and val di fassa. they can fine you for "dangerous riding" without any tangible criteria, just based on their personal judgement. to be fair, i never had a bad experience with them or even heard of one. i just don't like the idea of having a paramilitary police force on the slopes, seems too authoritarian to me.
Maybe ppl are generally more respectful in Europe. There are skiers and snowboarders who are reckless endangering other ppl. I got mowed down like a snowplow on River Run at Keystone. A new snowboarder who had no business on a blue. A couple snowboarders flew out of the trees and one took me out on a green run back to the lift. I had a beautiful black eye after that. TG I was wearing a helmet and goggles. We gotta put others' safety ahead of our own personal fun. These guys seemed respectful tho

With this said, he's almost been hit by a speeding skier/rider so I like that ski patrol monitors this beginner run tightly but these riders we not bombing the run at all. Nowhere in the video did I think they were going too fast for this run.
Wow this actually blows my mind...the only safety concerns I see are loads of people just standing around the mountain. Whats up with that? I've never seen so many people just standing around doing nothing in the middle of a hill. Even on a green run people should not be standing around. Those are the people posing risk.
low key of all people I'm thankful this happened to someone like you. With the following that you have, people can actually see this. Ive been snowboarding for 7 years and live in Winter Park CO. I've personally been a victim of Keystone Police BS and only have my word against others to prove my innocence. I do not ride Keystone anymore because of a similar incident as yours. i was stopped because i had the same jacket as a so called "out of control" rider. Thank you for making this video because I'm sharing it on everything i can. It is sad because this happens every day and goes unnoticed. as well as accidents from out of control riders happens every day.
Send this to media, man. I've already seen a couple of Denver stations pick up the original story, as well as SnowBrains and Unofficial Networks.

One way to express a concern could sound like this:

Go see what they're doing at Borreal while adding features for people that love riding versus the stripping of parks and features at Heavenly and Northstar in the last decade. Vail is trying to be more friendly to the the twice-a-season vistors while making the mountain more plain for the people that are in love with being on that mountain. Mountains are meant for those wanting to be on em.
@@PoleToPoleTravel I actually work for Vail. I know that all of the Vail owned Colorado resorts all have less than 5% except for beaver creek which I am not sure if it is more.
The entire other part of your comment was just ranting about things that were unrelated.
“Hey we’re gonna have a chat.... give me your passes” ok good talk I guess? Wow I was really excited to go to keystone in February, now the vibes are sketch...
I've seen hundreds of comments and reviews about Keystone. I wouldn't go.
You were respectful and pushed back respectfully nicely done
Don't ever turn the camera off when something like this happens.
Safety Girl: you flipped us of on the way down.
Skiiers: We have a camera I’ll show the footage.
Safety Girl: 😶...
They also had mittens
She: well actually we dont ecen work here
so what really happened was that the safety people had their feelings hurt by a supposed gesture that may or may not have happened? does the safety course cost money? how long does it go for? You're aware that you have no comeback against officialdom.
plus they where wearing mittens
@@darrendix5163 It's not that I have any real pent up animosity towards snowboarders, I don't. I just wish they'd stop camping in the bumps and blocking my zipper line :)
But seriously, these guys were just doing their thing and enjoying a beautiful day on the slopes when they got accosted by these know-it-all safety knobs. These are the type of people who aspire to gain a powerful position in the HOA when they retire.....
Quickly reading through the comments. Read this one and thought the ending said, “gave them a yellow vest and ski boobs.”
That is funny, bc I don't care for most skiers. Since most think they are better or more deserving than snowboarders, Such hypocrites. I see skiers doing ALL the same things that they complain about snowboarders doing!
@@adkrider33 Ahhh I don’t know if that’s true. Everyone cuts everyone up, at least in Europe. It’s a free for all and there’s no policing. You get guys heading down the slope at 100mph and some show-ploughing at 30. Crazy stuff.
Been skiing for years, only ever had a handful of encounters with ski patrol.
I will next time!
If this is too fast then I must be a criminal🤷♂️
I see three Power Trippers there scaring away guests paying thousands a week to ski there
Damn bro I've clocked myself at 130kph
Samuel Hildebrandt really 🙄
same man
Fr i just zoom down some mountains as fast as i can and i dont stop at all
Can't stand that patrol girls attitude and the way she redirects all blame
Calling her a patrol girl is insulting to actually ski patrollers. She’s a “mountain safety” girl.
Yeah it was super cringy to watch. You could tell she was very uncomfortable with confrontation. People like that aren't fit to work in the customer service/guest/hospitality industry.
She's a dumb girl. She doesn't know what's going on
Right when they said they have video she goes oh I'm just following orders instead of being aggressive like in the beginning
Is this a joke? They weren’t going fast at all.
🚫Keystone🚫….. I’ll never snowboard with my wife there because of this interaction. Thank you guys for your professionalism on the mountain 🏔️ 🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼. They (KEYSTONE) were WAY out of line!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad we dont have this in Europe. How ridiculous
Amazing they cared nothing for skier that crashed behind them, all so they could power trip
I'm a skier...you guys were TOTALLY in control, kudos....and those "safety" people are idiots.
Now I know; When they yell at you, just don't stop. Respecting them won't earn me a thing. Just blow past and don't look back.
I was planning on going there with family and probably spending $300-$500. After seeing this NOPE cancel that I’ll go a mountain that respects their guests
winter park & steamboat are really great family mountains and free from the vail resorts bullcrap :)
Coper mountain is amazing!
Keystone is probably one of the more chill places to go honestly just look out for yellow jackets lol
Go to crested butte
Abasin right down the road
Thanks man! Appreciate you thought on the whole situation too. Definitely check out the resort review videos! Great for skiers to enjoy 🤘🏼
@@JohnathanBuckhouse Yep - I've seen a handful of your videos. Been checking out your early season stuff cause I'm itching to hit Keystone early and it's getting me psyched.
@@JohnathanBuckhouse I take it you have still never got an apology?
Looks like I won’t be returning this year
Thanks man! Pretty crazy. I also road that run for years before this
You should try Sugar Mountain they have double blacks they got blues and they got greens and stuff its a great place
@@Theyluvvsilas what state?
@@grady1067 North Carolina im gonna go there again for me its a 2 hour drive but im gonna go hit that place for like a week
@@Theyluvvsilas bro sugar is absolute garbage. I’m from the east coast and that’s the worst I’ve ever been to lol. Snowshoe if anything for close to the Carolina’s.
I’m planning my trip to CO and Keystone is definitely off my list. That would definitely ruin my day at a new resort.
😂
Dude "the Land of the Free" this is comical, in Austria we do what you could call "bombing" but we dont even really have a ski safety or something like that👺
You have some really valid points.
You're right. They after the tourist dollars.
mad respect for this post!
I am more concerned by the people who sit in the middle of runs and hang out in the way.
Yes!!
This is why we sign the liability form... ride at your own risk. The "yellow jackets" are turning a form of fun and expression into a business. One more reason I went to Ikon this year and stopped supporting Vail Resorts. Keep up the great videos and hopefully you won't be in this situation again!
Ikon is so much better anyways
Winter P is just as bad 🤷♂️

Dang dude, im an instructor at a vail resort and this looks totally fine. You guys stayed to the side and pretty slow speed and if i had a class there i wouldn't have a problem. I had a similar situation at snowbird where a black goes across a green and i got stopped going fast on the black section
yeah it happens at snowbird with some of the more stuck up ski patrol especially if ur a snowboarder cuz its fairly new for boarders at that resort
@@dallenewell2321 Snowboarding is new at Snowbird? WTF are you talking about? 🙃 Patrol seems pretty good there unless you're bombing crowded blue/green runs.

Stopped for going to fast on a black section? Lol wow.
@@veganpotterthevegan Yeah bro, snowboarding is fairly new at Snowbird. I went snowboarding there in 2004. Can't speak to before that.
It’s the first time skiers going 30 that hurt people.
This is so true. When I was a beginner in ski school I lost control and crashed 5 people
Can confirm. As a beginner snowboarder, when I lose control I eat shit immediately. Don't have time to find people to run into :P
Yep. Had an older beginner rider slam into me from behind and knock me off the trail into some deep snow. He didn't even try to help me back up out of the bank.
Are they volunteering? Most volunteer workers are there with good intentions but some like to act like they own the hill
this is the best ad for Icon Pass
skatopher fuck ikon pass
Ikon* :D, guess re-locating that keystone trip
yes!!!!!!!
Don't do IKON, bad call there
Some of the “Mountain Safety” people at Ikon Pass mountains are just as bad as Vail’s.
You know they messed up when the Keystone's Instagram has deleted every previous post with comments about this situation on it and they also turned off all comments for their new posts lol.
their facebook profile is still open to comments! lol the first 3 comments i saw on the posts all tie back to this video lol
I was about to come say the same thing. They know they messed up.
You can still comment on their older insta posts. Right now it's only the last 6 photos. Blaze away.
in all honestly many snowboraders at your level tend to not care about others on the slope, But you guys seemed to be going at a normal speed and were very aware.
“Hey you your a snowboarder too stop!”
Hey wait we’re on snowboards too,.....now what?
Jumping onto a green run isn’t exactly safe. My 5 year old almost got his head ripped off doing what you jackasses are doing. I’d say good on Vail!
@@cryptotrev1394 you are missing a point bud...
Trevor Albertsen good. Go put your 5 year old somewhere else

Wtf, In Sweden I can go as fast as I want on a green slope and absolutely no one cares, everyone are chill and you go however you want❤️🇸🇪❤️
Same in Alaska
Same in finland

This is why helmet cams are as important as dash cams. Glad you put this up.
HIDDEN cam...... even better to catch them thinking it's not being recorded. These guys KNEW it was being recorded! What morons! Now that this story has gone viral, they are screwed one way or another and probably will get fired, and then not able to work at other resorts! CLASSIC!
lmao imagine having speed limits on a mountain
I've never seen something like this in a European resort.
Yes but Vail will charge $75 per person to take the Safety class. Ski Patrol make a 20% commission on that
Maybe ppl are generally more respectful in Europe.
I'm over here like "man idk if I wanna go to keystone on Friday for opening if it's gonna be like that." Knowing damn well I've only been snowboarding 3 times in my life and wouldn't be eligible for a speed warning if I tried. 😂
🤣😂🤣😂
My son is 9 year old and he's been snowboarding since he was 4. We've ridden Schoolmarm so many times over the years. It's one of the best runs in Sumit county to learn on. With this said, he's almost been hit by a speeding skier/rider so I like that ski patrol monitors this beginner run tightly but these riders we not bombing the run at all. Nowhere in the video did I think they were going too fast for this run.
Imagine a company wanting to terrorize the guys with cameras, that seems like the dumbest possible PR move they could ask for.
Damn mall cops gotta chill
Wow this actually blows my mind...the only safety concerns I see are loads of people just standing around the mountain. Whats up with that? I've never seen so many people just standing around doing nothing in the middle of a hill. Even on a green run people should not be standing around. Those are the people posing risk.
Very common on that green run, and even blue runs at that resort.
low key of all people I'm thankful this happened to someone like you.
Dude I am also happy this happened to me because it needed to be addressed! Super sorry it happed to you though. Hopefully this can change 🙏🏼
Send this to media, man. I've already seen a couple of Denver stations pick up the original story, as well as SnowBrains and Unofficial Networks. Make sure this video gets out there so you and your squad's names are clear. I'll definitely share where I can. This is messed up and I hope this all works out.
There’s too many rules for skiing at that resort. All the resorts in the alps that I have been to no one cares how fast your going or what your doing
Yea, we dont even have these wannabe sheriffs.
Where I go skiing people play music on their own speakers, and throw people beers on the lifts and while they are skiing. The workers literally watch people get off the lifts with alc and they don’t care😂
