What would you respect from one of the people who thought Montana was a god. Young never bad mouthed Joe in his life. The same could not be said of Montana. He treated Steve like crap. It is the NFL and Joe was on the decline. In fact if Walsh was the coach instead of Seifert he would have been replaced earlier. Players are not owed their positions due to respect. It's a business and they get paid a lot of money to play. The team owes them nothing but their salary. Besides you do not look old enough to have been around when the issue between Joe and Steve was coming down. Steve was always gracious to Montana, but the same could not be said for Joe in respect to Steve. Joe undercut him with the team at every turn. They treated Steve like crap. They O-line even would let defenders through when both QB's were sharing time in the same game. Your mention of his complaining about not getting playing time pretty much reflects you deluded attitude. That is the same attitude that Joe had in respect to Steve. He didn't like Steve because Steve wanted to be a starter and was not happy being a back up. He liked Bono because he knew his place . What arrogance to believe that no one should even dare to think about challenging him for HIS position. Joe was not as good as he and many of his fans believed him to be. He was not untouchable. In the Min. playoff game he was stinking it up but Seifert didn't have the guts to pull him until towards the end when it was too late to make up for the huge deficit. Steve was moving the offense and scoring but it was too late. I have been a Joe Montana fan since he was playing for ND in college but he couldn't even live up to the legend he became over time.
WILTALK Walsh was the head coach during the Minnesota playoff game not Steve. Also you are painting Joe in an subjective light that’s clearly biased against him. Joe was at his peak in 88’ and 89’ he won back to back MVPs now Steve is obviously great but Joe is a top 3 QB all time. So when you are the best at a job where Job security is hard to come by and all of a sudden the company hires someone who threatens your future at that company you tend to get competitive. And that’s what Montana was the ultimate competitor, he wanted that job he wanted that position now that being said everybody makes mistakes and Montana may not have always been fair but Steve and Joe were two completely different people and players and to compare their behavior isn’t getting the full story. Montana might have gotten 5 rings and kept being the starter if it wasn’t for the Leonard Marshall hit that essentially took him out for 2 years. Both were great but to fault an all time great competitor for being competitive is ridiculous and not showing the full story

@@3313-c2j Steve didn't win with Joe's team. Because of injuries, trades and free agency, Steve won with an almost completely NEW team. There was quite a bit of turnover from 1989 (the last time Joe won the SB) to 1994 when Steve won. In fact, only 4 players from the 1989 team started in the 1994 Super Bowl. Jerry Rice is a BIG piece, of course. But the others were TE Brent Jones, Jessy Sapulo on the O line, and John Taylor as the other WR. Outside of Sapulo, the entire O line was rebuilt, and there was an entirely new backfield with Rickey Watters and William Floyd replacing Roger Craig and Tom Rathman. Meanwhile, the front office did a FANTASTIC job in free agency and the draft to acquire major defensive talent to replace the losses of Charles Haley, Michael Carter and Ronnie Lott among others. They drafted Bryant Young, Dana Stubblefield, and Merton Hanks (All Pro Bowlers), and managed to convince future HofF players like Deion Sanders and Rickey Jackson to come over in free agency. Why did those guys come over in Free Agency, and not go somewhere else? Because they saw that with Young, the Niners were legit Super Bowl contenders, and that no doubt influenced their decision.
I'm a Raider fan but love Steve, since I'm a 90s kid. Watching him just brings me so much nostalgia from when I was a kid. I met him at a gas station in Millbrae. It was around midnight and he looked tired but I just had to talk to him. He was 100% down to earth with an infectious smile. I actually worry about him because he had one too many concussions. He kinda spaces out when he's on tv.
Walsh LIVED for having his players compete. His mentality was, "oh, Joe thinks, he's the best things since sliced bread? I'm going to get this other guy, Steve Young out here just so that he KNOWS that he isn't safe." He absolutely LOVED that QB controversy. In a 1987 divisional playoff game, Bill straight up took Joe out of the game because he was struggling a little bit and put steve in there. They lossed vs the vikings, and because of that loss, Eddie D was fuming with anger and told Carmen Policy to tell Bill that he was fired. Carmen talked him out of that but eventually did strip Bill from his president/gm role. Bill didn't try any funny stuff after that. But that's what made Bill the GOAT coach. He thought no one was untouchable. He traded the greatest players once they didn't prove useful (like Joe and Ronnie Lott). Coaches nowadays just play it safe and refuse to create tension that is needed amongst his players to get them playing in an elite level.
The best coaches get everything out of both rookies and veterans and sometimes the only way to get veterans to up their game is to give them challenges even if people on the outside think it's a distraction.
I'm in my forties now and I get chills every time I see these images and remember that era when the niners were unrivaled... I truly believed they were going to play at that level forever. Bill Walsh's bluntness combined with football genius made him a legend. I love how real he was: "Yeah, we have a quarterback controversy." "Steve Young is a frustrating player...but he made the play to win us the game." He was also willing to pull Joe Montana out of any game when Joe wasn't cutting it.
Him watching and playing under Joe, and what he learned from Walsh was a big part of him becoming a great QB. He was a talented, but erratic QB with the Buccaneers. By the time he became a full time starter he was ready and at times was bordering on perfect in his prime with the 49ers.

No doubt, if the roles had been swapped I don't think there would have been much of a difference in the overall success of the team. I think Young in the right circumstances would have put himself right in the debate with Montana and Brady, or maybe he would have even made it less debatable. He was that good.
I remember watching both Montana and Young play for the 49ers and when they threw an incompletion you are like what. ??!! Seriously, it happened so rarely their passes were always so on the money.
Montana went from the 49ers to the Chiefs and now they playing one another in the Super Bowl.... imagine if that happen in the early 90s with Joe vs Steve
Imagine being the Coach, having Joe Montana on the field, and Steve Young on the bench. It’s a problem, but I’d imagine it’s a good problem to have in the NFL. 😂
There were games where Young started and Montana was on the bench! That's why they loved this, two great starters where either could play, and dominate.
Watching "A Football Life" on Steve Young reminded me of one of the main reasons I'm a die hard 49ers fan and always will be! Jed Dork needs to see this and remind him of the world class orginization the 49ers used too be and how him and his family have ruined it.
As a fan of the game having watching Montana's career & seeing Young as his backup, as we also scene in Green Bay with Favre & Rodgers. I admit, didn't like Young taken over Joe's place. Can't imagine how he felt trying to fill Joe's ( big) shoes. Same is true with Rodgers. One things remains, having both Young & Rodgers watch, study, being patient, then coming out of the gate like hungry lions. Helped their careers & only cemented their own legacies & there place in Canton.
I remember when both Montana and Young were out a few games and Steve Bono played great as well, the problem wasn't that they had two great quarterbacks it was that they had three.
I remember Bono went to KC. He was just average. Montana on the other hand made KC a team to fear. 2 play off runs and beat Eleway in the classic Monday night game.
I'm old school in many ways and also a Bears fan. But if I had one possession and I had to score, I'd take Joe Montana as my QB. Also, I think Steve Young doesn't get the credit he deserves - he was phenomenal.
Joe always=amazing games. I loved watching him play and was really upset when he went to Chiefs. He, to me, is a 49er for life and the teams best QB ever. I didn't like Steve Young at the time but grew to enjoy watching him play, too. From the outside, I thought they hated each other, and that was not the facts. The media peg them against each other for ratings
I lived in the bay area all through the 80's and the 90's and I can tell you...we were blessed to have both Joe Montana and then Steve Young as the 2 best quarter backs - back to back, that there will EVER be. Throw Jerry Rice in the mix and you have a legacy. I am so happy they were MY team. What awesome memories I have. I predict the young Brock Purdy is the next 49 superstar QB. Go Niners !
this is like a 3 year old post but i still watch it....man joe and steve and the rest of the niners of that era was my childhood....so much joy .....it was heart wrenching having to see joe go but eventually steve stole the heart of the city with the grit in his play.....good times and i remember every freaking game.
Jim Harbaugh should have won 2 superbowls with the team he had but made bad calls at the end of games critical games that was his bad decision making why they never won
To me, the best QB I have ever watched was Montana. I know the numbers sa Brady gets the GOAT label. But if you had them in the same scenario, Montana would leave Brady in the dust.
@@Yeomannn Montana got knocked out of the game what are you talking about you probably not even old enough to watch it Steve Young only one could be at Joe Montana's team Joe Montana taught him out of here quarterback

Something else that happened was that after the 1989 Super Bowl season, Steve was close to signing with the Raiders, but inexplicably decided to sign another multi year deal with San Francisco. Talks about it in his book.
I'm not trying to say Jerry Rice wouldn't be great without these two, he's the greatest overall player in NFL history, but he has had amazing teams. Unlike Randy Moss who had horrible teams and still put up godlike numbers. Jerry Rice never knew how it felt to play on a bad team.
As a Notre Dame fan, I was always a Montana guy. But Steve is such a good person, and so very articulate, that it's impossible not to like him. So, although I'm a Jets lifer, I always found myself rooting for Steve and the 49ers after Joe left. He was a great quarterback in his own right.
Dharma Beach Bum his personality definitely does him great justice. It seems like a rare opportunity for a guy like him. People like that seem to get taken advantage of and never are given a shot(in general not nfl specifically)
I remember seeing Steve Young play for the LA Express in the USFL. I thought that he and Jim Kelly were exceptional quarterbacks. They lived up to what I believed, when they got their chance to play in the NFL.
I loved both Steve & Joe so like many other fans I was torn when it came time to make a choice between the two. Steve is my guy, my football hero as a kid
Steve is just being kind. I think Joe resented Young quite a bit. I believe he would have cut his hamstrings if he had the opportunity. He liked the third stringer Steve Bono because he was not after his job, while his attitude toward Young was really chilly. I suspect that Montana invited him to dinner in an attempt to poison him. lol. Montana's attitude toward competition came from his often getting shafted at ND. At ND as a second stringer he often came in at the end of seemingly lost games to lead miracle comebacks only to be put on the bench again the following game. That gave him a real chip on his shoulder in respect to competitors.
@@MrBmick79 This is the downside of a quarterback controversy. The locker room is kinda splitted and that's how it was back then too. The older guys were sceptical when Young arrived and especially Haley gave him a hard time. Ronnie Lott was the first veteran to truly accept him.
I grew up in San Francisco and went to the Niners games regularly. Then, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for my last 2 years of high school. Steve Young is a Mormon and visited our high school, and I met him there. Super nice guy. I still have the piece of paper with his autograph. That was back in 1989.
Back-to-back HOF quarterbacks? Insane! The only other time that happened after may be Favre -> Rodgers. And that's a distant second in terms of greatness
It’s not easy to compare QBs from different eras, but I’d rather have Favre and Rodgers. It’s not even close. Let’s not forget Young and Montana had the best WR of all time and also played on the team with the highest payroll before the salary cap in 1994. The biggest difference is the 49ers had those QBs starting for 18 seasons from 1980-1998. Favre and Rodgers have given the Packers 28 seasons from 1992-the present.
@@infinite_loophole why is it not close? I hear you in terms of SF roster being stacked but 2 rings in 28 years? Not to mention the wc offense, along with Mike Holmgren, came from SF.
Interesting - I didn't know Bill Walsh told Young that Montana's playing days were just about over. He had major back surgery in '86 and took a pounding vs NYG...so I guess I can see where Steve Young believed Walsh. That's as good as a QB controversy can get...two HOF'ers fighting for the same job.
I loved watching these two growing up!!! I thought the 49ers would always be the dominate team... still a huge fan to this day because of montana, rice, young, rathman, craig, lott...

obsoletesuccess That's the way I seen it(from a distance). I caught Montana at his last year's in San Fran then to KC so didn't see this. BUT Brett and Rodgers I remember clear animosity on the sideline. I even had to question myself was they teammates or what.
Reading some of the negative “joe vs steve” crap, we should always remember just how fortunate we were to witness two great hall of fame quarterbacks play for the forty niners, back-to-back. How many teams can say that?
I was a Niners fan and it was rough, in the 70s and I mean real rough. Then, out of nowhere, in 1981 we made it to the playoffs and won it all, with Montana at the helm! That was the start of an amazing wild ride! Montana and Young were two of the best QBs to ever play the game!
To be fair stating that is premature. If a player has not had the opportunity how would you know he isn't as good. They used to say the same thing about Farve and Rodgers.
They did make each other better. I'll even mention that I'm so old, that I remember when Joe Montana's number one target was a tight end named Ken McAfee who was also drafted by the 49ers. Him and Joe both came out of Notre Dame.
The NFL is a business ..I was always a Montana fan from his days at Norte Dame...But how can u not like Steve Young?...Young has the heart of gold and heart of a champion ..Joe is probably the.best of all time but I appreciate Tom Brady ..I was very happy Steve won his title in 94...both are great ambassadors for the game and classy role models.

I wasn’t aware of all of this- what a situation to deal with.
A QB with longevity seems to be a rarity- grateful we got to experience both!
Me watching this looking back on the golden years of the Forty-Niners will be Pats fans in 20 years looking back on the golden years of the Patriots.
What you talkin' bout Wills?! Brady will still be there in 20 years! Puxatawney Phil has nothing on Brady!
ThunderLips Yup! Great comment, and 100% true
💯💯💯
ThunderLips No. this was on another level and more authentic and special. Patriots will be known for cheaters and manipulation.
@@jamesdouglas2448 of course Brady will still be there 20 years from now. It's easy when nobody's allowed to touch you.
Imagine being the Coach, having Joe Montana on the field, and Steve Young on the bench. It’s a problem, but I’d imagine it’s a good problem to have in the NFL. 😂
Packers fans can relate all too well with the Favre/Rodgers saga.
There were games where Young started and Montana was on the bench! That's why they loved this, two great starters where either could play, and dominate.
We also had Steve Bono as the 3rd string QB.
Watching "A Football Life" on Steve Young reminded me of one of the main reasons I'm a die hard 49ers fan and always will be! Jed Dork needs to see this and remind him of the world class orginization the 49ers used too be and how him and his family have ruined it.
The 2 greatest 49ers quarterbacks of all time!
The best back up of all time
Turned out being behind Montana set Young up for greatness
Fr that 95 team is one of the best team ever IMO
I remember when both Montana and Young were out a few games and Steve Bono played great as well, the problem wasn't that they had two great quarterbacks it was that they had three.
BrianTerrill Bono a great QB lol.
Patrick Clark lol
I remember Bono went to KC. He was just average. Montana on the other hand made KC a team to fear. 2 play off runs and beat Eleway in the classic Monday night game.
The problem is the nfl is political and being quarterback is not that difficult. What’s difficult is getting the opportunity to play it.
Bono was an above average starter for a little bit. After Montana retired in 1994, Bono KC to 13-3 in 1995.
Montana won in 81,84, with no rice no Taylor, ONLY had Clark, and he was great, Montana
He had rice in 84
No it's the Holy Trilogy of Montana, Marino & Elway.
@@Eaglemna No he didnt. Rice was drafted in 85. He won 2 SB before Rice. Look it up.
@@jasonmatthews806 hmm, you right
Wouldn't mind seeing even an old Marino on my Dolphins now.
I'm old school in many ways and also a Bears fan. But if I had one possession and I had to score, I'd take Joe Montana as my QB. Also, I think Steve Young doesn't get the credit he deserves - he was phenomenal.
Two of the NFL'S greatest Quarterbacks of all time. Hopefully the Niners will have another fantastic decade.
After what I saw today, nah
Go Niners !
Purdy reminds me of Joe.
yeah Jerry Rice - what a classy guy.
this is like a 3 year old post but i still watch it....man joe and steve and the rest of the niners of that era was my childhood....so much joy .....it was heart wrenching having to see joe go but eventually steve stole the heart of the city with the grit in his play.....good times and i remember every freaking game.
Jim Harbaugh is better than Chip
Bruh, its pretty obvious
Water is wet
wind is air
If I close my eyes I cant see JalenMills#31hunnit#SuperSaiyan#MoneyMills
Jim Harbaugh should have won 2 superbowls with the team he had but made bad calls at the end of games critical games that was his bad decision making why they never won
6:18 Montana to Rice was a thing of beauty.
Favre actually copied that play in his super bowl win, he talks about how he watched that film before his win
Two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history: Joe Montana and Steve Young
Starting at 4:29 everyone on his team knew where he was the whole time....this is what makes championship teams
It also helps having some of the great receivers of all time on your team, which I also include the running backs.
Young could throw and run, such an amazing talent.
To me, the best QB I have ever watched was Montana.
I know the numbers sa Brady gets the GOAT label.
But if you had them in the same scenario, Montana would leave Brady in the dust.
Montana would have won one championship maybe 2 he played till 95, young played to 1998, with Joe's team, why Joe is better, look what he did with KC
Look what he did with KC? He choked in the AFC championship and never made a SB with them.
@@Yeomannn Montana got knocked out of the game what are you talking about you probably not even old enough to watch it Steve Young only one could be at Joe Montana's team Joe Montana taught him out of here quarterback
@@Yeomannn what did your hero Steve Young do with the Tampa Bay Bucs nothing
@@3313-c2j Joe Montana is a system quarterback.
@@Yeomannn all quarterbacks are system quarterbacks because there is no I in team that was like the most stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life at least the top 10
Something else that happened was that after the 1989 Super Bowl season, Steve was close to signing with the Raiders, but inexplicably decided to sign another multi year deal with San Francisco. Talks about it in his book.
Raiders had some good teams in the early 90’s, Young would have put them over the top.
Love Steve because he's like me, a lefty and we where both backups until one point
Noah Dommasch you’re not in the nfl
Steve should have demanded a better deal from the Buccaneers. Instead, the 49ers signed him? Hmm.
Montana and Young> 🐐
aman k Brady and Garrapolo >>>
DestroyNations deflating balls and recording practices > 😍
joe k Stickum and Oily offenses >>> 😜
Montana and young , Favre and Rodgers .
aman k Steve Young & Joe Montana are the Best they’re my favorite Men along with the rest of the 49ers
Total class act of Joe Montana to be a pro about it. A lot of class was shown by both Montana and Young.
2003 Oakland Raiders went 4-q2
check out the 97 vikings quarterbacked by Randall Cunnninghan... so stacked, one kick away from the superbowl man
Solomon Kessington He had Randle,Carter and Cunningham on the Vikings, was on the Pats and 49ers when they went to the SB
Moss > Rice not even a discussion
+Mitchell Lee lol he proved you wrong so hush
Great player i wish i could go back in time and watch him play again
Steve Young was one of the fastest quaterbacks to ever play the game. He could fly.
I loved them both. Steve is smart as hell. He is the only NFL quarterback I ever saw that was both a Lawyer as well as a Football Player.
I remember seeing Steve Young play for the LA Express in the USFL. I thought that he and Jim Kelly were exceptional quarterbacks. They lived up to what I believed, when they got their chance to play in the NFL.
yeah, good QBs who had some underappreciated years in the USFL. Seems like a lot of people forget that Young had some early years in Tampa also. peace
WILTALK Plus all those hits he took back when QBs weren't protected
ask Charles Haley what he thought about Steve Young. Steve Young was a snake
Bobby mickey I wouldn’t consider Haley a great judge of character
@@MrBmick79
This is the downside of a quarterback controversy. The locker room is kinda splitted and that's how it was back then too.
The older guys were sceptical when Young arrived and especially Haley gave him a hard time. Ronnie Lott was the first veteran to truly accept him.
Que honra ter essas 2 lendas no meu time por 20 anos e resultou 5 títulos para os 49ers.
Damn, when the niners had two great qbs to choose from... Nowadays they got Gabbert and Kaepernick...
Long they got JimmyG🏈🏈😀😀😀😀😀
Tony Davidson most teams don't lol. Great qbs want to play and not sit on the sidelines
"Looks kinda promising...."? What? He looks like a Franchise Star is what he looks like.
Come on man.
Lucain You were saying?
You guys are forgetting they had that duo again with smith and kaepernick in 2012
Joes last game as a KC Chief was one of the greatest games I ever witnessed.
My two favorite quarterbacks
Man , Montana and Young. Those guys were what football was all
About.
You can claim the best was Brady, or Farve, or Rodgers, or Manning, or Elway, but THE G.O.A.T. at quarterback was Joe Montana!!!
Undefeated in the Superbowl that's why he's the 🐐 GOAT
Always!!!!!!!!
Two hall of famers for sure! Notice the great downfield blocking on his run and who were making those blocks! That was a great team!
Loved the Walsh era, loved the short Harbaugh time, and hopefully will love the Shanahan time.
Alan Senzaki This aged nicely. Enjoy the SB!
Walsh was a genius of football best COACH that lived there will be no other
Steve Young is the GOAT- when it comes to pure, unadulterated class.
Bill Walsh deserves all the praise for managing to get the best out of both these legends including 5 rings
Steve Young was the reason I became a Niners fan.
6:19 not Brady, not Staubach , not Manning . That is perfection ! Only Joe Cool !
I would too see Montana against Wilson what a game that would be
STEVE YOUNG GREATEST LEFT HANDED QUARTERBACK PERIOD!!!!!! (8) AS A NINERS FAN I MISS WATCHING HIM PLAY 🏉☝️🌟✌️MONTANA AND YOUNG 🐐💯
Can you say, Steve Young may have just been the best backup QB ever, to the best QB ever ?
Incredible football players - Steve Young and Joe Montana! Ballers of the highest order
Now throw Jerry Rice into the mix. What a skilled record breaker.
Can you imagine a head coach announcing nowadays to the media that his team has a quarterback controversy ? I can't but Bill Walsh did .
Growing up watching the Saints, it was Montana kicking our ass twice a year. He was clutch as hell. He was exciting when he went to Kansas City.
I thought the 49ers would always be the dominate team... still a huge fan to this day because of montana, rice, young, rathman, craig, lott...
easily the best quarterback duo on one team ever 2 first ballad hof
And the difference of a number one pick ending up on a great team rather than tje worst
You couldn't have a better tough decision than those 2 legends!!
I wanna see the best football college team go up against the worst nfl team..
the best cfb team < worst nfl team
Browns 95 Alabama 3
Berzerk Chocobo Best College team would get destroyed.
Yeah and then after that we can watch the worst college team vs the best middle school team!.
Jacob Vang Even the worst NFL team is a college all star team. The best college team has guys that have no chance at an NFL team. Would be cool as hell to watch though
El mariscal de campo con mas hambre por conseguir un super bowl, la garra con que jugaba al final le dio su recompensa un grande en un gran equipo gracias young
This reminds me of Brett and Rodgers.
obsoletesuccess That's the way I seen it(from a distance). I caught Montana at his last year's in San Fran then to KC so didn't see this.
BUT Brett and Rodgers I remember clear animosity on the sideline. I even had to question myself was they teammates or what.
+Mitchell Lee Nah, they hated each other. At least Montana was able to tolerate Steve.
Yep Brett hated Aaron
I miss winning games like we used to
you're right, I'm a Green Bay fan. It mustve been awkward having that Favre & Rodgers situation/relationship
I can't believe Steve Young impersonated the Burger King king so well.
This really can't happen anymore. The salary cap and free agency prevent it. That guy on the bench is going to cost too much against the cap.
But it has
Jerry Rice said in his book that he is always asked about Joe and Steve. He said that if he had to choose between these two greats, it would be Joe.
Reading some of the negative “joe vs steve” crap, we should always remember just how fortunate we were to witness two great hall of fame quarterbacks play for the forty niners, back-to-back. How many teams can say that?
Arron Rodgers and Brett Farve for the Packers
john paul except Farve was clearly declining Montana showed no real decline
Rocky Adams true but they were both still hall of fame. And the year after farve left he led the Vikings to 14-2 record
john paul that I didn’t know I thought he did bad on the Vikings i wasn’t old enough to remember
"GOAT" Montana!
He lost that title about 4 years ago.
Greysen G. When Brady lost his 3rd Super Bowl?
That was like De Niro in Heat, when he returns home after the armored truck heist and stares out into the bluish dusk by the bay
CHIP KELLY DOESNT KNOW HOW TO COACH FOOTBALL. JUST SAYIN
he ruined the eagles and now the niners? smh
Analisa Quiroz can't ruin smth already ruined
Analisa Quiroz he's definitely not a NFL coach
Analisa Quiroz He's just a college coach doing college plays
analisa quiroz he put a defensive tackle at QB.
Im 36 and never knew that it was such a controversy. Great video
Right now I wonder if Jimmy Garoppolo is feeling the same way Steve Young was feeling back then.
no because he knows his time is coming and he is no where near as good as brady
To be fair stating that is premature. If a player has not had the opportunity how would you know he isn't as good. They used to say the same thing about Farve and Rodgers.
Yep. That was unexpected tbh.
Hmmm..
He'll be fine ;) San Fran has themselves a franchise QB
They did make each other better. I'll even mention that I'm so old, that I remember when Joe Montana's number one target was a tight end named Ken McAfee who was also drafted by the 49ers. Him and Joe both came out of Notre Dame.
Remember when Young and Montana criticized Kaepernick and all the bandwagon ass 49er fans turned on them?
They had no reason to criticize him. Besides they never really criticized him. Their quotes were taken out of context.
black coffee poltics make people stupid. No one cared about Kaepernick until he started protesting
WILTALK the worst thing to bring in sports is politics because it divides people
The NFL is a business ..I was always a Montana fan from his days at Norte Dame...But how can u not like Steve Young?...Young has the heart of gold and heart of a champion ..Joe is probably the.best of all time but I appreciate Tom Brady ..I was very happy Steve won his title in 94...both are great ambassadors for the game and classy role models.
