Yeah she has rarely failed to impress (from a merely American view; i.e. no live witness) when it comes to not only her "performance" (ear, instrument, voice, etc.) but also her character, no only on stage (as i've never seen it live) but also her maturity in the studio, at obviously such a young age. Bravo!
Such a beautiful Bolero... it reminds me "Sabor a mi", also a great Mexican song!
Only that this one is a Spanish (Catalonian) composition. Inspired by Mexican boleros of course...but composed and executed by a young Catalan talent.

This was the one song that did not work as well in this setting. I’ve preferred all of the other takes of this session. And my, what great playing by all of the band and guests! Will this be released as a CD?

Never more in a big band. This in not your energy, not your soul. Go to another direction, but keep your essence...
I can appreciate the skill of the arranger and excellent playing of the WDR big band, but it looses the subtlety of the original, especially in expressive Rita's singing where she is unsurpassed.
