Here, as in several other videos, Rita and Andrea share the spotlight. In yet others, they happily share the background together. Its a non-competitive selfless attitude that is totally foreign to today's pop music culture. For the kids here, including Andrea and Rita, its not about them; its not about fame or prominence, its about the music. It only happens in jazz. --- NCJ

Totally agree, except that "it only happens in jazz". It occurs whenever true musicists are involved - no matter the style, here in Brazil and I guess everywhere else. Yes: very well done girls! Keep humble and practicing!

This is great on so many levels. Andrea and Rita compliment one another so very well in their singing. .Rita's trombone solo is excellent. Andreas tone is to wish for and with a perfect solo. Luigi's solo at first is shocking but so very appropriate.. Joan's bass is driving the beat with great energy. Josep's guitar solo is always spot on as is the great piano work and drums. Yes, I like it! :}

Todos los integrantes de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band aparecen particularmente brillantes en esta interpretación. As I was listening to Joan sing, I was thinking "Wow! What a beautiful tone this girl's voice has; along with outstanding vocal control...she was born to sing." But then..."What's this!? Now she's picked up a trumpet and has just started playing it as masterfully as she sings." Just how talented can one person be?
You mean Andrea...Joan is playing bass. But you're right - Andrea's talents almost defy description. Same goes for Rita.
Add that she plays heavenly saxes, and some guitar, sometimes...

Love this cut! I’ve listened to it many times. Andrea and Rita are working together so very well. It’s interesting to hear the difference in phrasing between the two. Luigi is like an unexpected clap of rolling thunder out of the blue ... WOW!! The whole group is superb. Thank you for this magnificent recording. ❤️

This great old standard makes my heart sing especially by this terrific young talent.
Love it all, but particularly the ripping bari, although I've noticed a brave young lady wielding one in previous settings. A welcome addition to this always tight ensemble. Joan must be brilliant to get these results. can't help but notice how supportive they always are to each other's work. Thank you!
The young lady would be Alba Esteban who competently plays every sax from soprano to bari as well as clarinet.

Great to see another generation playing jazz
Ultimate musicianship is not only sounding good after hours of practice, but bringing it all together, and I and hopefully everyone else can appreciate the mastery as demonstrated my each musician in this video. I love this band, and thus far anything Mr. Chamorro has put on youtube. Not a higher rank in my book than a great music teacher; They taught us to soar above the clouds; and to some of us it meant joy when nothing else, person, pet or thing meant much no matter, and at the same time we thought, "what's wrong with me". Lots of wonderful times with women I truly loved, my true love is a lovely box with 88 keys. Now is that kinky or what? PS: I do have a two legged girlfriend and a dog; lost the light to perform 30 years ago, but I love my piano. Main thing; be happy, well I need a band again. Sucks when I'm 64.

Every time I listen to this, I marvel at how it came to be that someone wrote the scat solo as a quartet, and even more amazing, these four young people learned it and practiced it until they totally nailed it. I am totally in awe at the talent of everyone involved at every step of the way. Bravo!!
