    Love the restoration. I do have one question though? Why go through the body filler process on the cast parts?
    They did not come perfect from the factory, and since they seem to be aluminum, why bother?
    I mean, it is your choice, but I always wonder. It is only cosmetic and not original.
    If it is to make it look better and makes you happy, you do you. I am just curious.
    And just to reiterate, awesome work.

    Thats quite an awkward chuck. Any options for replacing it?

    • @djamelhamdia134
      @djamelhamdia134 2 года назад +1

      That's a "collet" chuck, it can hold only one specific diameter, in this case 6mm and all router bits are 6mm, thus, it can't be replaced.

    Good job just a few helping hands for your repair jobs, list below.
    I think the wrong bearing were fitted, speed rating not high enough for this router.
    13:53 and 14:26 Bearings were fitted very roughly.
    15:34 The commutator was not smooth enough and the brushes not fitted correctly.
    16:03 Rethread hole before cleaning NOT after assembly.
