I have a concern with that replacement rotor you’ve put into it - it has a centrifugal fan impeller on it which is the wrong configuration for the vent in the bottom of that router, the original “Makita” rotor (that you found had a short in its commutator) has the “correct” axle fan on it for the position of the vent. - repair the “original” rotor/try to swap the impellers over for the correct air-flow to cool the motor ✅. In its current form, a risk of it overheating ⚠️
And that the replacement rotor had the wrong type of fan on it for the position of the vent in the power tool - risk of it overheating ⚠️, if he can repair the original “Makita” rotor with the axle fan = he could put it back into that router and have the correct air flow to cool the motor ✅
⚠️ - yes, he needs to repair the the original “Maketa” rotor that has the axle fan on it, or what I would have done = try to swap the impellers over so it has the correct air-flow to cool the motor ✅
That cut you made at the end, freehand - very very dangerous. You don’t want to make cuts like that without straight edge guide. Routers climb, and when they start climbing they climb fast

No, with black plastic, this is not Makita. ;)
There are nagging, but overall a good job.
Now you can do a video on repairing the defective old armature. They do sell commutators for that armature. Just a thought!.

I have two kids that are 2 and 4. After they have ran me ragged.... These videos are my peace. Thank you and keep up the good work
Interesting piece of work, like the upgrade, seems to really made a difference. 👍😁🇨🇱🇺🇸
Excellent but little known router, cool project and excellent restoration buddy 👍
That's some good work. Nicely done !
The fan on that new rotor won't be functional in that case... This things asking to overheat.
That was what I was thinking the fan on the new one appears to be designed for side vents and the case is a top vent.

Very nice job 👍 there will be no stopping you now. You will be finding all sorts of jobs to use it for.
Looks great! 🧡
You need some Japanese Industrial Screwdrivers (JIS).
Really good work. Well done.
Nicely done 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing
Nicely done... thanks!
Muito bom 👏👏
This saved me pulling mine apart, thanks.
Fel färg på handtaget annars helt ok
I thought you would rewind the armature. That's a great challenge to you for a future project. Nevertheless, nice job! Congrets!
Excellent friend, have a nice day !!!.
Good one, nice and decent color selection.
Do you know if the body was cast from a magnesium alloy or something else?
Good work
Nicely done.
Pintura, barniz...??
Great result 👏 👍
Dude, spectacular video. It was excellent my friend. I'm already your subscriber. Like for everything.
I have exact same model. Bought almost new condition from local Sunday market for $10.
Good job. But I didn't like you that changed the colour. Because makita should have a specific blue color.
hola el video está muy bueno:
🤜🤛👍👏👊
what is that white powder you put in warm water? some kind of detergent?
I think replacing the cooling fan shouldn't be useless
what year is that router from?
What are you brushing on at 9:57?
Oh, that's old router? So what WiFi name it has?
Show 👏👏🇧🇷
dont solder the wires because under load the solder can melt again and so i could cause wire burning or something else next time crimp thw wires only
black handle on the Makita? not canon !!!
You should have cut out the shape of the thumbs up button. The wood piece you had was perfect for it.

super tare
Nice work on the guts. Questionable design choices. 🤔
The slats at anchor are already falling off: the anchor is to be replaced.
That's a weird looking Network device!
Yeah probably because its from the 60's.
Networking technology was wild at the time
should have changed / kept the old vent..
a bit too much use of the hammer and impact screwdriver
Next time just tape over the parts you don't want painted (eg. th outside that fits in the handle.
Painting it blk isn't restoring it. It's altering it
Sound like a vaccum cleaners
Why on earth would you make your test cuts on PARTICLE BOARD ??????? Next time try it on a real wooden board !!
🇪🇨👍
👍
you cant black a makita wtf
wish you didnt paint away the makita colors, now looks like shit
3:20 Unbelievable! You should have not cut all that material from the commutator!
